De Profundis Clemadi
I did not know; child, child, I did not know,
Who now in lonely wayfare go,
Who wander lonely of you, O my child,
And by myself exiled.
I did not know, but, O white soul of youth,
So passionate of truth,
So amorous of duty, and so strong
To suffer, not to suffer wrong,
Is there for me no pity, who am weak?
Spare me this silence, speak!
I did not know: I wronged you; I repent:
But will you not relent?
Must I still wander, outlawed, and go on
The old weary ways alone,
As in the old intolerable days
Before I saw you face to face,
The doubly darkened ways since you withdraw
Your light, that was my law?
I charge you by your soul, pause, ere you hurl
Sheer to destruction, girl,
A poor soul that had midway struggled out,
Still midway clogged about,
And for the love of you had turned his back
Upon the miry track,
That had been as a grassy wood-way, dim
With violet-beds, to him.
I wronged you, but I loved you; and to me
Your love was purity;
I rose, because you called me, and I drew
Nearer to God, in you.
I fall, and if you leave me, I must fall
To that last depth of all,
Where not the miracle of even your eyes
Can bid the dead arise.
I charge you that you save not your own sense
Of lilied innocence,
By setting, at the roots of that fair stem,
A murdered thing, to nourish them.

Metamorphosis (Renga)
Co-authored with Tim Drew
A heart’s sacred trust
Fragile and easily bruised
Murder of the soul
Sheltered by walls of numbness
Condemned to a living death
A life with no soul
The pained motion of living
No one understands
A beggar at mercy’s door
Heart and soul long to be healed
Child of innocence
No longer is the soul pure
Desperately seeking
Fervently searching for soul
Seeking warm sanctuary
Longing for answers
Shell of what was once living
Utter emptiness
Hiding from the sight of God
Yearning for a safe haven
Child of the shadows
Seeking ways out of darkness
Starving for the light
Darkness is more familiar
Invisible from our sight
Bruises unnoticed
Such tormented innocence
Self is shamed away
Tainted by the sins of man
God's love will never falter
Accepting God's light
Shame begins to melt away
Innocence reborn
True healing comes from within
By the grace of God
Shining in the light
Through Him all things possible
Innocence reborn
A new path lit by God's love
Loved unconditionally
Out of the shadows
Behold, the new child of God
Sacred trust restored
A new measure of balance
New path of truth, love, and light
Welcome this new day
Divine child shines with the light
Safe haven is found
Deep love from salvation’s hand
Rendered to this world in peace

You wander as a lonely
Each day you wake up with a frown
Rumours keep spreading around town
That you’re suffering a mental breakdown
A solitary walk you walk
A lonely talk you talk
As you wander as a lonely
You wander as a lonely at night
You wander as a lonely on sight
You wander as a lonely at day
You wander as a lonely and pray
You wander as a lonely each day
Slow down, slow down
Shut down, shut down
Shutdown the lonely before you drown
Embrace your friends with warmth
They can give you assistance
Deliver you from your lonely existence
You keep fighting love
Bending it around like a curve
With your glowering face
Reserving only a lonely place,
Halting happiness to arrive in your life
Do you ever stop to wonder?
Do you ever stop to ponder?
Are you the reason for the lonely blunders?
Slow down, slow down
Shut down, shut down
Remove from your head that lonely crown
You wander endlessly as a lonely
Searching for a spot called homely
But your face is missing that vital smile called lovely

If I were dead
'IF I were dead, you'd sometimes say, Poor Child!'
The dear lips quiver'd as they spake,
And the tears brake
From eyes which, not to grieve me, brightly smiled.
Poor Child, poor Child!
I seem to hear your laugh, your talk, your song.
It is not true that Love will do no wrong.
Poor Child!
And did you think, when you so cried and smiled,
How I, in lonely nights, should lie awake,
And of those words your full avengers make?
Poor Child, poor Child!
And now, unless it be
That sweet amends thrice told are come to thee,
O God, have Thou no mercy upon me!
Poor Child!

Eyes of a child
Eyes of a child
Such gems in stones
Staring you close
Still as blue sky
They don't lie
Their sun is shining
While you are crying
Eyes of a child
Day or night
I got no light
Free as a child
I can be wild
Eyes of a child
Let them go, into the snow
Without your grace
There's a lot more to know
Just glance over their face
It's the eye of a child
Free and wild
Child don't think too much
Ain't no worry as such
Joy driven life they live
Half-a-soul they give
It's the eyes of a child
Free and wild
Save me child
Save me child
Set me free and wild
Eyes of my child

Emmy
Emmy's exquisite youth and her virginal air,
Eyes and teeth in the flash of a musical smile,
Come to me out of the past, and I see her there
As I saw her once for a while.
Emmy's laughter rings in my ears, as bright,
Fresh and sweet as the voice of a mountain brook,
And still I hear her telling us tales that night,
Out of Boccaccio's book.
There, in the midst of the villainous dancing-hall,
Leaning across the table, over the beer,
While the music maddened the whirling skirts of the ball,
As the midnight hour drew near,
There with the women, haggard, painted and old,
One fresh bud in a garland withered and stale,
She, with her innocent voice and her clear eyes, told
Tale after shameless tale.
And ever the witching smile, to her face beguiled,
Paused and broadened, and broke in a ripple of fun,
And the soul of a child looked out of the eyes of a child,
Or ever the tale was done.
O my child, who wronged you first, and began
First the dance of death that you dance so well?
Soul for soul: and I think the soul of a man
Shall answer for yours in hell.

Too Lonely
Too lonely, too lonely
Too lonely to fall in love
Too lonely, too lonely
Too lonely to fall in love.
I got a key chain
Good luck charm
I drive a fast car
Got a strong arm.
Too lonely, too lonely
Too lonely to fall in love
Too lonely, too lonely
Too lonely to fall in love.
Shes got the big lips
Shes got the tight dress
Working for a big tip
She dont go for less.
Shes too lonely, too lonely
Too lonely to fall in love
Too lonely, too lonely
Too lonely to fall in love.
She wears a fur coat
Shes got a gold ring
Comes from a good home
Lookin for a new thing.
Shes too lonely, too lonely
Too lonely to fall in love
Too lonely, too lonely
Too lonely to fall in love.

One Small Act
There was a lady whose face was drawn
and everyone she came upon
looked at her and wondered why
she never smiled at them as they passed by?
But none would question this poor soul.
They turned their face on their daily stroll.
A child went up and touched her hand
and the lady's face lit up the land.
A gesture of kindness was all it took
to change the sadness, to change her look.
She seemed to come alive once more
and her face was not drawn like it was before.
It took the innocence of a child to see
that a face that's drawn needs to be
uplifted by love from one who cares.
There's nothing like a touch that compares.
The lady's face that was drawn every day
is filled with peace as she goes on her way.
And the one small child will never know
how he changed a face and made it glow.

Why Did You Leave Me
If only you could see the tears
In the world you left behind
If only you could hear my heart
Just one more time
Even when I close my eyes
There is an image of your face
Once again I come to realize
You have lost that I cant replace
Soul then die
Its keeping for the lonely
Since the day that your were gone
Why did you leave me
Soul then die
In my heart you were the only
And your memory lives on
Why did you leave me
Soul then die
Walking down the streets on nothing will
Where our love was young and free
Cant believe just what an empty place
It has come to be
I would give my life away
If it can only be the safe
Cas I could still the voice inside of me
That is calling out your name
Soul then die
Its keeping for the lonely
Since the day that your were gone
Why did you leave me
Soul then die
In my heart you were the only
And your memory lives on
Why did you leave me
Soul then die
Time will never change the things
That you told me
And after all we mean to be
Love would bring us back to you and me
If only you could see...
Soul then die(soul then die)
Its keeping for the lonely(for the lonely)
Since the day that your were gone
Why did you leave me
Soul then die
In my heart you were the only
And your memory lives on
Why did you leave me
Soul then die...

What's Behind My Eyes
What is behind my eyes?
A genius,
A lonely soul
One searching for comfort
Hoping for acceptance
What is behind my eyes?
A fighter
A lonely soul
Only wanting final peace
Wishing for a true friend
What is behind my eyes?
A school boy
A lonely soul
Who can't quite grasp reality
Learning new aspects of life
What is behind my eyes?
A peacekeeper
A lonely soul
Who always solves others' problems
Praying to solve his own
What is behind my eyes?
A student
A lonely soul
Constantly studying forms
Looking for some reason to live
What is behind my eyes?
A lost child
A lonely soul
Always whining and cowering
Searching for his family
What is behind my eyes?
A young teacher
A lonely soul
Never resting so that she may help
Dreaming of past happiness
What is behind my eyes?
A companion
A lonely soul
One who lends out comfort
Hoping to receive its own
What is behind my eyes?

Another Lonely Girl
Orbison/melson
Recorded 1961 by mark dinning
Each time I hear some poor girl cry
See the tears in her eyes
It always breaks my heart in two
When theres nothing I can do for her
Shes just another lonely girl
If I could take them one by one
And teach them how to have lots of fun
Make them fall in love with me
Mmm mmm, thered never be another lonely girl
Another lonely girl, another lonely girl
Mmm mmm, thered never be another lonely girl
Now its not fair that they should cry
And be so all alone
Love should treat them tenderly
Never treat them wrong
Ooh no, there should never be another lonely girl
I know how it feels to love someone
I know how it feels to part
So if some lonely girl gives me her heart
Ill never break her heart
Oh no, shell never be another lonely girl
Another lonely girl, another lonely girl
Mmm mmm, thered never be another lonely girl

Cheating....
in some ways we are cheats.
do not deny that,
for it is a fact,
in some ways, we do not tell the truth
when it hurts the one we so much
love, we keep on residing inside the houses of
our own
illusions, not to dislodge the one that we care
that we want to stay
in the places of our longings,
in some ways, we are cheap,
we love the wrong part, we admire the wrong person,
we marry what others think
does not deserve us,
in some ways, we are hardheaded
we go where death waits
we negate what the good life offers,
with all honesty, we make our own lies,
we confess, we are wrong and we are
wronged in return
in some ways, we never really understand
life, death,
and those that still lie in between
we miscalculate the distance
we suffer, we notice,
we regret
but in all these, we must admit,
we want to be honest, but we just can't...

The Easter Lily
A little child, as winter turned to spring,
Tended a lily-plant with patient care,
Thinking, when she should see it blossoming,
To set it on the chancel-step; that there,
When Easter dawned on Lent, the spotless thing
Might on the feast-day be her offering,
Lifting its own white face to One more fair.
But, as the plant grew upward day by day,
Raising itself from earth towards the sky,
So seemed the child from earth to draw away,
The while she feared to see the lily die;
Unthinking that, ere broke the Easter ray,
She might her own white soul before Him lay
For Whom she sought the flower to sanctify.
Time passed. The lily bloomed not; and the night
Before the feast had come. And so the child
Sent to the church the cherished plant, despite
’T was but an unblown bud; and—reconciled
That on the altar-step, midst flowers white,
Her poor green stalk watched out the silent flight
Of hours until the morn—contented smiled.
• • • • • • • •
Fair broke the dawn upon the altar’s hem
Of lilies, breathing Easter greeting sweet;
But, with the night that so perfected them,
The child’s own spirit fled, the Light to meet
Beyond the heaven’s roseate diadem;
And, with the morning, bloomed upon the stem
The fair, white soul her own had longed to greet!

The Price
Pity all faithless women who have loved. None knows
How much it hurts a woman to do wrong to love.
The mother who has felt the child within her move,
Shall she forget her child, and those ecstatic throes?
Then pity faithless women who have loved. These have
Murdered within them something born out of their pain.
These mothers of the child whom they have loved and slain
May not so much as lay the child within a grave.

Broken child
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has seen more than his young eyes should.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who would run away from it all if he could.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has been ravished by the likes of you and I.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child with to much pride to cry.
I see the face off a broken child.
a child who fights off anyone who cares.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wishes his mother was there.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wont let his hardships keep him down.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who refuses to give up and reveal a frown.

I see your joy laughing eyes
wind child still
I see your warm eyes laughing

I see your dark black eyes blessing

I see your soul dark passion eyes

Birth Love
My love is like a birth
Happens once, once for a soul
Cute face and tiny structure
Loved by all as a child
Even I got the care and love
All the joys and happiness on earth
But only for somewhile and sometime
As a man passes his infancy and gets adult.
All I know is my love remains in me
As an infant child of innocence
As the essence and childhood memories
It comes before me when I think
Think of myself with them and her.
Going with Keat's and his dogma
Beauty is truth, truth beauty
Love is birth, birth love
This is all you know about birth
This is what you need to know of love.

A Woman
Oh, dwarfed and wronged, and stained with ill,
Behold! thou art a woman still!
And, by that sacred name and dear,
I bid thy better self appear.
Still, through thy foul disguise, I see
The rudimental purity,
That, spite of change and loss, makes good
Thy birthright-claim of womanhood;
An inward loathing, deep, intense;
A shame that is half innocence.
Cast off the grave-clothes of thy sin!
Rise from the dust thou liest in,
As Mary rose at Jesus' word,
Redeemed and white before the Lord!
Reclairn thy lost soul! In His name,
Rise up, and break thy bonds of shame.
Art weak? He 's strong. Art fearful? Hear
The world's O'ercomer: 'Be of cheer!'
What lip shall judge when He approves?
Who dare to scorn the child He loves?

To Love Again?
Where is justice?
Where is truth?
Where is equity,
In the face of adversity?
Who will stand for me?
Advocate my cause
Speak my mind
Before a just judge
O where is justice
Why am I wronged,
Every time I try
To love again
Let there be a voice
That will speak in truth
Against the wrongs
Done to my soul
I ask you lord
Where is justice
Speak for me
I cry out to you
Hear my cause
Plead my case
Defend me against lairs
What wrong is mine,
To love again?
These Little Ones
'What of the garden I gave?'
God said to me;
'Hast thou been diligent to foster and save
The life of flower and tree?
How have the roses thriven,
The lilies I have given,
The pretty scented miracles that Spring
And Summer come to bring?
'My garden is fair and dear,'
I said to God;
'From thorns and nettles I have kept it clear.
Green-trimmed its sod.
The rose is red and bright,
The lily a live delight;
I have not lost a flower of all the flowers
That blessed my hours.'
'What of the child I gave?'
God said to me;
'The little, little one I died to save
And gave in trust to thee?
How have the flowers grown
That in its soul were sown,
The lovely living miracles of youth
And hope and joy and truth?'
'The child's face is all white,'
I said to God;
'It cries for cold and hunger in the night:
Its little feet have trod
The pavement muddy and cold.
It has no flowers to hold,
And in its soul the flowers you set are dead.'
'Thou fool!' God said.
