A Substantial Shadow
Often I am haunted
By the reflection
Of a shrunken face
Of a substantial shadow,
That has gathered
An impervious thickness.
None can claim like me
To have measured
The dwarf-shadow,
Gaining an immeasurable height
As never seen before.
Even when, you are by my side,
I tip-toe to the left of the highway
And get drenched to the core
By the visible nothingness
Of a cluster of barren clouds.
I know why,
Of late I seem to feel ashamed
To ask for a reassurance from my mother,
Who on long frosty-nights
Takes an extra cup of tea
To keep her warm.

When I was young
the shadow he cast was long.
When I was afraid.
In his shadow I could be brave.
Walking together
watching his shadow by mine.

Shadows imitate every thing in life
But it does not argue, fuss, or fight
And can be changed by the reflection of light

Stroll to the cafe
My God how time flies
I close up my brain

I Have Dreamed of You so Much
I have dreamed of you so much that you are no longer real.
Is there still time for me to reach your breathing body, to kiss your mouth and make
your dear voice come alive again?
I have dreamed of you so much that my arms, grown used to being crossed on my
chest as I hugged your shadow, would perhaps not bend to the shape of your body.
For faced with the real form of what has haunted me and governed me for so many
days and years, I would surely become a shadow.

My shadow's
Shedding skin and

The Naked and The Dead
Naked I walk through the town but no one sees me
no more than they see a shadow on a sun drenched
wall… and I awoke my son´s name, he who was
not born twenty years ago. My son I have given you
a grand education, all my money has gone to make
you middle class and respected in this town…speak
now and stop your silence I need your support and
do not be ashamed of your father who swam from
the sea penniless but begat you my wonderful child
unborn, cause your mother wanted to be attractive
forever. You are what I never became a person of class.
Do not leave me know, do not be ashamed of your
sailor father who had nothing to give but his love for
an unborn child. Night is so long I wait by the phone,
just one call to tell me you have been successful and
