I Heard
I heard -
You want to talk to me
Though you didn’t tell me
There is the sixth sense in me
Whispering gently to me…
Softly like the blowing breeze
on the shores of the
Sydney harbour sea.
Yes, that memory of you and me
That sea-view and those
Drizzling drops of rain
On the balcony -
Where you posed for the photo
And sent it to me.
I remember it all
How you saw the sun-set
And texted me
And I wrote a long poem
Dedicated to thee
And thy memories
Of the sunset on the sea.
I texted you back
Sharing my happiness
That you remembered me.
Gosh! How the mobile
Can sometimes be a boon
Than a bane, a source
of pure, abundant ecstasy!
So? I heard -
That now, after these many years
of your visit to the Sydney sea.
Today, and may be tomorrow,
You would feel like
Talking to me…
Even I do feel the same
That you also know
Without me telling you so.
Though, you and I know
That now the situation is such
That however much
We talk and reason.
It would always be the same
As ever before…
Like the old flame of love
Burning passionately
Sans any rhyme or reason
Whatever be the season.
So your reasoning won’t help me
And nor the talking would help us
See things through…
For you know and I know
That the walls in your home
And my home -
Are resounding not only with the
‘blank calls’ that I make to you.
But these walls with their bricks
of absolute silence -
Have had their ears jammed and
Slammed with the shrieks,
Echoes and beckonings
of this silent heart of mine
That cries out to you:
“Don’t Depart -
Till Death makes us Part”.
And…So? Again? I heard -
That you still need to talk
That’s what my sixth sense
Tells me about you.
Even I do…
But don’t know what to
So let us remain quiet
For eons together…
And I hope, our silences
Speak up for themselves
How words intended
For love, care and warmth
Have become paralysed
With immense pain and hurt.
And Yes,
Now you have heard it right
That silence speaks
Better than words
When things just Don’t
seem to be Right.
So, let us both keep quiet
Hobbling away with the pain
That stings us every now and then.
For love has lost its way
In the wilderness
Of a lifetime longing…
And the other night
You lost your patience
Temper and words…
Bombarding me with
Expletives -
After just making
8 calls on my mobile.
That’s what my call log says
As I was unable to talk to thee.
You should have imbibed
Some of my patience
And perseverance
In those countless days
I spent calling you up
Yet you were ‘deaf’
To all my attempts at
Seeking you out in sheer agony.
Sshh! Silence Please
That’s what I’ve heard
And learned from you
In all these years
of silent suffering.
So? I heard -
That you again need to talk.
Even I do
Don’t know what to…
Let us keep hearing
The walls of our home
Doing all the talking
For us.
Sshh! Let us listen
To them -
Silence Please…

Silence Is
Silence is sitting back in the recliner after a day
at work when the radio was too loud.
Silence is hearing the birds singing after hearing
neighbors bickering.
Silence is listening to beloved hymns after hearing
yourself complaining about things that cannot be changed.
Silence is reading the words of Rumi after reading news of
rape, murder and molestation.
When one is silent about another's wrongdoings, silence is
the sound of the devil shouting. So speak up, and he will
not be heard!
When one is silent in prayer and rest, silence is the sound
of God talking. So speak up, so He may be heard!
Yes, when God talks to you, let Him talk through you!
Be silent no longer!

Zen
i take to call him zen
i talk talk to zen like
to all the nature around me
zen can you talk back to me
there is a pause and i say
zen can you talk back to me
silence like the silence of nature
are you dead or alive?
i am such a bewildered dweller
i talk to zen like i do to
all the nature around me
nature do you have a mouth
talk back to me
silence
then this tranquil feel
this feel of zen reacting to all nature, to me
but no talk, just silence
then i say zen
well if you let me do all the talking?
zen zen zen i know you will one day
be more cruel, do the leaving,
not a sigh, not a word
so why dont you talk to me now?
i talk to nature hoping it will talk back to me
but like zen, it is all quiet, silence
i even pull his leg, i say zen you have
sprouted a mole, a wrinkle, a line here and there
and i say you are smart and i suddenly
feel a contentment manoevres him a little
but then i ask again, and again
zen is it my own ego boiling over?
zen, zen please tell me
till then you may stay the way you are

These Walls
If these walls could talk,
I wonder what what would they say
Would they thank me for being painted
Or will they ask me, to wash the paint away.
Would they tell me of the pictures
That once hung upon them their
Pictures that once adorn those walls
Or I wonder would they even care.
Would they speak upon the stories
That was heard within these walls
That no one else even knows about,
That is if the stories these walls could recall.
Was there children laughter all about
Or any secrets heard and being told
I wonder what have they listened to
And I wonder if anyone will ever know.
These walls inside this house
That for years have stood alone
With the stories that was told and heard
While this house had became a home.
The Sadness that they might had seen
And the worries and sorrow that they felt
Maybe they don't want to remember it at all
And maybe they too keep it bottled upon their self.
Were they painted to cover up secrets
Was they battered as to protect someone's lies
Or were they wallpapered to cover up the truth
And did they hear the whispers and the cries.
These walls they are still standing
Through the years of the days and nights
While listening and knowing all done and said
In the darkness and also in the light.
I look at these walls just one last time
As I head home from my walk,
How I wish I knew what they heard and know,
But that is, if these walls could only talk.

Ignoring Silence
We all relish in silence
at sometimes in our lives
and there are many kinds of silence.
There is the tense silence on battlefields
heard just before an attack begins.
The relaxing silence at the end of the day
when the world seems a million miles away
and then there is the ignoring silence.
This comes when people you want to talk to
but whom turn away and talk to someone else
leaving you feeling isolated in silence
not knowing what you have done
and hurting because your words will never be heard.

Breathe
I heard a rumour
They travel far
You know what it's like
The way people are
They talk and they talk
Though they don't understand
They'll whisper and whisper
And lie on demand
Please tell me now
I want to know
I have to hear it from your lips
Say it's not so
I heard it on Monday
And I laughed a while
I heard it on Tuesday
I managed to smile
I heard it on Wednesday
My patience was tried
I heard it on Thursday
And I hurt inside
I want to know
The depths of your mind
Tell me this whole thing is madness
And we're doing fine
Put your little hand in mine
And believe in love
Put your head on my chest
And breathe love
Breathe love
Breathe love
Breathe love
I heard it from Peter
Who heard it from Paul
Who heard it from someone
I don't know at all
I heard it from Mary
Who heard it from Ruth
Who swore on the bible
She's telling the truth
I heard it from Simon
Who heard it from James
Confirming with Sarah
That I was to blame
I heard it from Joseph
Who heard it from John
Who said with conviction
That all hope was gone
So I need to know
Your alibis
I need to hear that you love me
Before you say goodbye
Before you say goodbye
Before you say goodbye
Before you say goodbye

Silence
Silence in the language
Is the absence of speech
Silence in the conversation
Can be so remarkable and rich.
Silence is an atmosphere you make
And it's the situation you break.
Sometimes it tells you more
Than thousand words told before.
Silence is a feeling
Which is very intensive
Poorly created
It can be very offensive.
Silence can be so different
It has a lot of meanings
It's an expression of yourself
It shows your feelings.
There is a silence
That brings you peace
And you feel yourself
Being at your ease.
There is a silence of mystery
Like being in a dark wood.
There is a silence of happiness
When you are loved and understood.
There is a silence that frightens
There is a silence of anniversary dates
This silence reminds you
Of those lost fates.
There is a silence in music
When you listen to it and dream
But...suddenly...it stops.
Then...the sounds come to their extreme.
The prayer in silence
Is your inner world
When you dream in silence
You are just not heard.
Silence is golden
Or so I've heard
But it sometimes hurts more
Than a single told word.
Silence is golden
Or so goes a lie.
This silence of fraud
Do not need a reply.
Silence when you are in love
You do not need words.
Silence when you are fooled
You don't know what to say afterwards.
But...the best moment of silence
When you take my hand
I know you do not pretend
You just look at my eyes and I realize:
It's love, it's happiness.

Silence Must Be Heard
(m.cretu.)
.
Look into the others eyes, many frustrations
Read between the lines, no words just vibrations
Dont ignore hidden desires
Pay attention, youre playing with fire
Silence must be heard, noise should be observed
The time has come to learn, that silence ...
Silence must be heard
Or diamonds will burn, friendly cards will turn
Cause silence has the right to be heard
People talk too much for what they have to say
Words without a meaning, just fading away
Silence must be heard, noise should be observed
The time has come to learn, that silence ...
Silence must be heard
Or diamonds will burn, friendly cards will turn
Cause silence has the right to be heard

No Voice
There are times when we feel
we have no voice
we are suffocated by circumstances.
Our voice is lost in the void;
we wander with eyes open
and no mouth for things to say.
Those around us are oblivious
that our presence is near.
We are invisible
with only our ears to hear.
We have no voice to shout our protests clear,
no voice to vent our anger at what we can hear.
Our voice is silenced by circumstances
some of which we do not understand.
We have no voice today or tomorrow,
and even if we had a voice
would it be heard?
Would our words fall
on vacant and deaf ears?
The question remain unanswered
for around us silence reins.
Silent as our protests
and frustration is all we gain.
One day our gag maybe lifted,
but will it be too late.
There maybe no one around us
and our anger will be lost,
lost in the silence when no one is there.
We can only hope that one day
when the silence clears
our voice among the millions
will finally be heard.

Rumi's silence
Rumi wrote much about silence.
Does that seem strange?
Poets live with silence:
the silence before the poem;
the silence whence the poem comes; .
the silence in between the words, as you
drink the words, watch them glide through your mind,
feel them slide down your throat
towards your heart;
the silence which you share with the poet
when the poem ends, sitting side by side,
feeling one another being one heart;
the silence after the poem,
when you are a different person
from the person who started reading the poem,
think differently, move differently,
act differently; know Rumi a little better
as a friend; know yourself a little more
as a friend.
Rumi was asked, why do you
talk, talk, talk, so much
about silence?
He said, the radiant one inside me
has said nothing.
And that’s the silence which we listen to
and hear in Rumi’s heart,
here, sitting in the cool shade
which the scent of roses seems to love,
while the fountain gently plays like a poet
with sound and silence.

I Don't Want To Hear It Anymore (mono)
(randy newman)
In my neighbourhood
We don't live so good
The rooms are small
And the buildings made of wood
I hear the neighbours talking 'bout you and me
I guess i heard it all
'cause the talk is loud
And the walls are much too thin
He don't really love her
That's what i heard them say
He sure wasn't thinking of her today, oh no
(he wasn't thinking of her today)
I saw them in the front yard
Said the boy in room 149
He was talking to a girl i've never seen before
And standing there together, oh they looked so good
I don't want to hear it anymore
(i don't want to hear it)
I don't want to hear it anymore
(anymore)
'cause the talk just never ends
And the heartache soon begins
The talk is so loud
And the walls are much too thin
Ain't it sad, said the woman down the hall
That when a nice girl falls in love
Ain't it just too bad that she had to fall
For a boy who doesn't care for her at all?
(it's so sad)
I don't want to hear it anymore
(i don't want to hear it)
I just can't stand to hear it anymore
(anymore)
'cause the talk just never ends
And the heartache soon begins
The talk is so loud
And the walls are much too thin
I don't want to hear it anymore
(can't stand to hear it)
(don't want to hear it)
I just can't stand to hear it anymore
(don't talk about it)
(can't stand to hear it)
Oh, baby, baby
I just can't stand

Monastery
Up the long flight of stairs
every tread echoes from stone walls
as if to comment on how stillness
tells of sound its silent origin.
In the quiet library, the central table
bears a careful written message:
‘Silence is spoken here’..
and that’s truer than
at first it seems to read;
round the walls, shelves of books
as silent as the monks
standing upright in their stalls
witness words that seek to share;
yet ultimately, wave fare well, turn back;
speak of silence sought and silence found;
yet cannot speak of silence;
in the name of silence, take a book,
well-worn, from off the shelf;
meet it in the silence of the room,
read a few words, and lay it down;
glance at the other readers round the room;
fall still.
Here, silence speaks of stillness;
stillness joys in silence.

Keep Talking
For millions of years mankind lived just like the animals
Then something happenend which unleashed the power of our imagination
We learned to talk
Theres a silence surrounding me
I cant seem to think straight
Ill sit in the corner
No one can bother me
I think I should speak now ___________ why wont you talk to me
I cant seem to speak now ____________ you never talk to me
My words wont come out right ________ what are you thinking
I feel like Im drowning _____________ what are you feeling
Im feeling weak now _________________ you never talk to me
But I cant show my weakness _________ what are you thinking
I sometimes wonder ___________________ what are you feeling
Where do we go from here
It doesnt have to be like this
All we need to do is make sure we keep talking
Why wont you talk to me _____________ I feel like Im drowning
You never talk to me _________________ you know I cant breathe now
What are you thinking ________________ were going nowhere
What are you feeling _________________ were going nowhere
Why wont you talk to me
You never talk to me
What are you thinking
Where do we go from here
It doesnt have to be like this
All we need to do is make sure we keep talking

5. 8. 6.
I see danger
On the corner sent by me
Shadows the ways
Straight away you ran from me
I heard you calling
Yes, I heard you calling
I heard you calling
Yes, I heard you calling
I hear silence
I hear silence in my heart [house]
From a distance
Turn your back and run [hide] from me
Heard you calling
Yes, I heard you calling
Heard you calling
Yes, I heard you calling
When it happens
You will be no friend of mine
Take the first chance
When I am no longer free
Heard you calling
Yes, I heard you calling
Heard you calling
Yes, I heard you calling
In the future
When you want me in your heart
I wont be there [help you]
If you call out in the dark
Heard you calling
Yes, I heard you calling
Heard you calling
Oh yes I heard you, heard you, heard you, heard you calling
Can you hear me deep inside
From these feelings I cant hide
Can you hear me deep inside
From these feelings I cant hide
Oh, can you hear me deep inside
From these feelings I cant hide
Can you hear me calling you (4x)

I Have Heard Only My Own Silence Today
I HAVE HEARD ONLY MY OWN SILENCE TODAY
I have heard only my own silence today-
And what I am trying to do now
Is hear my words as poetry-
I wait and listen
I let silence play softly next to me
I lean over and bend my ear-
Nothing is heard-
I am not a poem
And life is not poetry
And all that there is
Vain lines of a vain passing player
Who soon will sing no more.

A Silent River Part2
Sunday is a holiday
I'do again
I'makes again
The memories of the silent river
I'come again
To remember
I'have ever love and miss
Here in the silent river, silent so silence
The memories of the silent river
I'felt his love again in this river
I'felt his longing again in this river
I'felt his kindly again in this river
And i'see again his softly face in the water
In this silent river, silent so silence
The silent river
Makes me remember
I'miss again
the silent river
Makes me to get so many things
Sitting nearby silent river
Come to me the lonely
Come to me the long yearning
Come to me the tears
Come to me the rain
The silent river keep my memories good
In the silent river, silent so silence
Save me now, from all the dejected
To spin around all back
This silence is geeting on my nerves
Were i'am so afraid
You were to be lost in thought
And all was lost to me
Here in the silent river, silent so silence
Silence And I
(lead vocal - eric woolfson)
If i cried out loud
Over sorrows i've known
And the secrets i've heard
It would ease my mind
Someone sharing the load
But i won't breathe a word
We're two of a kind
Silence and i
We need a chance to talk things over
Two of a kind
Silence and i
We'll find a way to work it out
While the children laughed
I was always afraid
Of the smile of the clown
So i close my eyes
Till i can't see the light
And i hide from the sound
We're two of a kind
Silence and i
We need a chance to talk things over
Two of a kind
Silence and i
We'll find a way to work it out
I can hear the cry
Of the leaf on a tree
As it falls to the ground
I can hear the call
Of an echoing voice
And there's no one around
We're two of a kind
Silence and i
We need a chance to talk things over
Two of a kind
Silence and i
We'll find a way to work it out

Silence...
I wanted to talk,
but don't know what to say
Silence...
I got nervous,
and looked away.
Silence...
I read what you wrote,
but can't put my reaction into words
Silence...
My inability to speak,
sometimes it hurts
Silence...
I didn't want you
to misunderstand what I said
Silence...
So I kept quiet,
lest our faces turn red
Silence...
