Don't Trust

Don’t trust a guy
Who insists on
Talking rather than
Writing…

For when the wind
Changes sails…
And you find yourself
In the doldrums…

He would rubbish
Off all his talks
As ‘voices’ you
Heard, your imaginations
And delusions –
Or may be,
Even if he
Did talk, he might have been
‘drunk’ to utter those
lovey-dewy words!

What he wouldn’t realise
That you would remember
Every word he said
In broad daylight
In his complete
Senses, only you
Wouldn’t have his
Writings to prove
The past.

And so he can easily
Get by…
Deserting you
For greener pastures
And younger women,
Carrying on with his
Flirtatious ways
That he always
Loves doing…

How many more
Broken hearts….
Doesn’t bother him.

I know it does
Bother you, for
Being a woman,
You want other
Women, not to
Fall prey to a man
Who insists on talking
Yet doesn’t have the ‘time’
For writing, though he
Could talk to you for
Endless hours…

Yet not a minute to
Spare when he’s turned
His back on you – yes, the
Very ‘busy’ man who would
Label you ‘crazy’ and walk
Out on you to make other women
Crazy!
Beware!

Women

Women behind bars, women in fast cars, women in distress, women with no dress
Women in airplanes, women who play games
Women in uniform, see that woman with her clothes gone
Women who satisfy, women you cant buy
Like women in magazines, and women in a limousine
Women who sip champagne, women who feel no pain
Women in a disco, and women who dont wanna know, no no
Oh, women wanting sympathy, women feeling extacy
Women who live in fantasies, bringing man to his knees
Women who boil to love, women who need a shove
Women who cant be beat, get that woman in the back seat, yeah yeah
Women in the usa, those women steal your heart away
Women into rock n roll, women who steal the show, go go go
Women that you write songs about, women that turn around and kick you out
Women you dream about all your life
Women that stab you in the back with a switchblade knife
Oh women, oohoo, talking bout women, all round the world
Yeah women, all the naughty girls, talking bout women, come on baby

She Loves To Talk

She wakes up in the mornin', puts her face on
grabs a cup o' coffee then she's on that phone..
(Chorus)
That woman loves to Talk (...she loves to talk...talk)
Yeah, she's what I want (she's what I want)
I don't mean to sound complainin'
she's my source of entertainment
That woman loves to talk!
Conversation ain't no trouble...in this family
She keeps me stimulated more than my new TV
(2nd Chorus)
That woman loves to Talk (...she loves to talk...talk)
yeah, she's what I want. (she's what I want)
She shoulda been a politician...
Got more wind than an air condition..
That woman Loves to Talk!
(Bridge)
Well, I know she might be different, that's what I like
She's something else when we turn down the light
It's hard to resist her, it's hard to explain
I love to hear her voice when she calls my name
(3rd chorus)
That woman loves to Talk! (...she loves to talk...talk..)
Yeah, she's what I want (she's what I want)
I wouldn't change a thing about her
wouldn't live this life without her
That woman Loves to Talk!
She could own Southern Bell ..for as much as she talks
She gets her recreation makin' long-distance calls!
(4th Chorus)
That woman Loves to Talk (...she loves to talk...talk..)
Yeah she's what I want (she's what I want)
I don't mean to sound complainin'
She's my source of entertainment
That woman Loves to Talk!
(2nd Bridge)
Yeah, she talks about this
Sometimes she talks about that
Every operator knows her name and address (...she loves to talk...talk..)
Can you hold on, please,
I'll check the line
I hope you got plenty of quarters and

Baby Talk

This is a song about Spike
He is a bad ass guy
Who just happens to be
A really good friend of mine
Everyone I know...yeah
Who knows Spike too
Would agree when
I say the words
That Spike is cool
The problem with
my friend Spike
He has fallen into
a true love with a nice girl
Who has gotta lot of tattoos
He always talks crazy
Whenever she calls
He always talks like a baby
It's obvious now...
She has got him by the balls
She has got him by the balls...
She has got him by the balls
My weird little brother...James
And his ex-girlfriend
They would talk in those
ridiculous voices
We would all be hanging out
getting drunk in
the neighborhood
And they both would make
those ridiculous noises
He would always talk crazy
Whenever she calls
He always talks like a baby
It is obvious now
They have got him by the balls
I hate you
when you talk like that
I wish you could act like a
grown man
(they have got you by the balls)
I hate you
when you talk like that
I wish you could act like a
grown man
(they have got you by the balls)
I hate you
when you talk like that
I wish you could act like a
grown up man
(they have got you by the balls)
You will never see me...
walking that walk
You will never catch me...
talking that babytalk
(you know it's true...
they've got you by the balls)
Which brings me back to Spike
A good guy to have in a fight
Unless he was
With his girlfriend
Obnoxious on Saturday night
You know he couldn't care less
What anyone thinks
He does not give a damn
No, because he has no shame
He looks so happy
Just like everything is fine
He is oblivious to the fact
That he has no spine
He always talks crazy
(you have no shame)
Whenever she calls
(you have no shame)
He talks like a baby
(you have no shame)
It is obvious...
they have got him by the balls
I hate you
when you talk like that
I wish you could act like a
grown man
(they have got him by the balls)
I hate you
when you talk like that
I wish you could act like a
grown man
(they have got him by the balls)
You will never see me...
walking that walk
You will never catch me
....talking that babytalk
(you know it's true...
they've got you by the balls)
I am not going to let it
get to me
They've got you by the balls

What Men Need To Know About Women

She will not be looking at you when the food arrives

She will not be looking at you in the midst of children

She will not be aware of you if there is a cat, or dog

She does not love you past three years but loves the idea of you.

She is not romantic past 25.

She does not care as much about how you look past 25. Other things come to matter more.

She talks to her friends more than you.

You like doing it, she likes foreplay.

Your choice is just for now, she is thinking, after 30, about forever

She is thinking she has allowed you to capture her.

Women choose you, not the other way around.

You are not as handsome as Ben Franklin past 45.

If she is not the star you are the villain

Learn to go blind after 45

Young women don't know how to make love, older women do

Younger men don't know how to make love, older men do.

There is no truth that can't be clouded by memory.

She remembers everything. You don't.

You fear losing your hair, women fear losing their beauty and their bodies.

The way to a woman's heart is through the restaurant menu and the beautiful house and affection.

Women talk, you don't

Women are smarter than you outside the office

Women are smarter than you in the home

Ok, you are smarter at work.

The secret of romance is her being attracted to you and you doing nothing to mess that up.

If you think sex is the key to making women fall in love with you, you'd be better off betting on chocolate-the odds are better.

Learn to like women, things work out better that way.

Women's Intuition

My women's Intuition gives me this sneaking suspicion

that the truth is really different from this story you're presenting

My Women's Intuition says something has changed

Something's very strange and I can't decide who's to blame

My Woman's Intuition keeps me up late at night

makes me wonder if its right if its even worth the fight

My Women's Intuition tells me somethings going down

Notices you're not around Catches every whispered sound

My Woman's Intuition is driving me crazy

Has me wondering 'maybe' What's been going on lately?

My Woman's Intuition puts these bugs in my ear

'Why isn't he here? ' 'Does he still even care? '

My Woman's Intuition senses something's wrong

Has known it all along Seems to be quite strong

My Woman's Intuition continues to bring it up

Wants to know what's up Made me look it up

My Woman's Intution saw every message you sent

Followed every where you went Tracked every minute you spent

My woman's Intuition took note of where you've been

Thinks it's time for this to end Doesn't want to be your friend

for Mr. Ron Mengzi

there is no one in his house
in the tropics who really know how to speak English
so he tries making monologues for himself
talking about his latest affairs
but it gets boring you know
and those in the neighborhood who hear
that he is talking to himself
think that he must have gone crazy
i want to talk to him but i am busy
always busy he complains
for i am the only who knows how to talk in English
but i am busy and so one day
Mr. Ron Mengzi walks towards the pond
and talks to the fish that he brought
from California
and there he had a nice English conversation
with the fish
all in figurative and
codified bubbles.

Some people who read this
do not think about Mr. Ron Mengzi at ll
They now talk about me
asking about my own sanity.

Scrubs In The Mall

Women think they can change the male,
they fall for kind of guy that is helpless and pale,
“He’s got a drug problem I got to help him”,
“His boss is no good, there’s always something.”
Women shop and you see them walking around with these guys,
Guys are all scrubby walking three feet behind.
The guys go to the parking lot with the same walk,
She hands him the keys to her car, they don’t even talk.
He doesn’t have money, he doesn’t have a car
she’s paying for the gas to get keep him the shiny star.
Now some end up on Jerry Springer,
all the same drama, no one is a winner.
Women don’t need to be caretaker to this guy,
if guy is not mature he’s not worth the time.

Poem Analysis: “Why Must U Be Unfaithful”

Tupac Shakur always experimented with poetry even when it had nothing to do with music. Many of his poems dealt with women, women’s rights and what they go through. For example, the poem “Why Must U Be Unfaithful.”
This poem’s title is in general, although under it, it says “4 Women.” This certainly pertains to women. But the speaker, Tupac, is speaking towards men. The first line has one word, (1) “Men! ” He talks about how men and their hearts are both selfish and it has no brain. That means it can’t think for itself. He says (7) “..mortal men fall in love.. (8) ..as fast as their face changes.” Meaning they go from girl to girl breaking hearts. He mentions (11) “empty vows and.. (12) ..broken promises.” Towards the end of the poem he explains how (14) “women aren’t perfect but why should a man not be loyal to a woman’s heart is true.” Everyone makes mistakes, but in the end they’re still there for them.
Tupac’s poem seems to be straightforward although in its nooks and crannies, there should be some deep thinking behind the real meaning of the poem. He doesn’t hold anything back and exposes the truth to readers. Whether there’s music or not and if the topic is women or life. Tupac will get things off his chest and still be artistic and intelligent about it.

Best way to keep a secret is tell it, just like that – mixes in with all the other palaver – nobody’s gonna listen, believe you or even care: the Secret

told the lady behind the counter
at the deli that I’m crazy and she just laughed and said no! But it’s true I really am crazy
And she said you don't look crazy
And I said no I don't suppose I do
That's part of my problem though I look normalwhateverthatis but I’m not
I walk around in a world of normal people and every once in a while I have to poke someone and tell them I’m not in the same world as they are and then they don't think I’m crazy
but that I am crazy for saying so

And she leaned over at me finally and said
What is it you are crazy weeth? And I said

I’m bi-polar. You know, manic-depressive?

And her eyes glazed over like the hams and salami
You don't know what that is do you? I said
And she said
No I don't know. What is that? And I said

That's what I am, I’m manic-depressive
Andshesaid in hersweetest sleepy-eyed droopy-eyelid limpid voice
I’m sorry I’m very sorry you're … whatever it is you said...

I tell you what (she said) ! ! Get far away! Just get away from it all for a while! Take a vacation when's the last time you took a vacation?

Go drive somewhere in your car even if you don't know where you're going!
and I said i can't get away from myself I’m sorry

I have to take me with myself wherever I go he goes and I come
I go and he comes I wish I could...

Then I realized this was just too much about me and my words trailed off

What vacation did she want to/ need to take! ? What was crazy when crazy really came to her? What was it for her to speak her heart to a stranger?

What did all my words spun and flung so carelessly bite into I didn't know this lady

So I said well, yea, you know I’ll do that

And she smiled it meant a lot that’s what you have to give when you're
In yourself
Gave her the response she needed to hear
heart to heart
Appreciate it really- your idea- I’ll do it!
I’m gonna try and do that

And by the way
don't mind all my crazy talk
You know, I’m just a little crazy

And she said no! And I said yes! No! Yes! Ha haha

I am

And I could hear myself and how I must sound to her
Like some bothersome man who needs the attention - lonely most likely like men get when they think about it and probably - more than likely
They had too much liquor
The alcohol- and the way they talk
because they're drunk - they talk around women
And can’t see the barriers and can't see that they're seen sloppy drunk they say

Don't pay me any mind, I’m just crazy
And then they tap the sides of their head like it'll rattle
and they grin
that awkward, hanging grin
When their lips and tongue are thick their heads spinning and the room is turning around them

And he thinks I’m putting on a pretty good show
I’m drunk and I know it
Don’t show it too much

Want to be loose but not too loose and lose their respect and he thinks in the far back of what’s left functioning in that mind he's pickling

That because he can't see straight
that nobody else can either

But knowing they’re pretty drunk they stumble and sway towards the door because you don't score women when you're drunk
You just have some fun
And practice the lines you're too introverted to say sober you have some fun and kill another night

Stumbling and waving as they go thinking for the life of them
I’m crazy to be this drunk but I’m a crazy guy

Until they wake up the next morning and find out they're not crazy at all just sick

And it's the same-ol same-ol: job, wife or kids a pale sheet pulled over the world of lights and fancy

But I wake up the next day (woke up one day, that is) and find out
(found out)

No hang over just a spill-over
a continuation of what I thought had been a bad experience
and now it’s just my life
and life just kind of flip-flopped on me in the night

So I turned around walked away from the nice lady iknewjustasmidgenbetter in the deli
to tap the side of my head and grinned at her
a wide but fading grin
attempting to leer

Stand By Your Woman

Man stand by your women
Treat her with respect and dignity
Because she is not your slave
She does everything for you
She is good to you
Don’t beat up your woman
She loves you
Have some understanding for her
She needs you more than ever
She would never hurt you, or lie to you
She will be honest to you
Stand by your women
She is your woman
The women you ever dreamed of
She is crazy about you
Don’t leave her,

Your turned back does not bother me!
What bothers me is your stupidity...
And your accepted ignorance!
You sink like those who refused to be told,
They've reached the limits of competence.
You think like those who are holding on very bold...
To lifestyles and thoughts,
Dropping quick into 'sinkholes'!

Your turned back doesn't both me!
What bothers me is many see
A definition of life that doesn't define clearly.
And when truth is ignored...
Because it upsets those abhorred,
I'm curious what 'freedom' is seen that frees?

Something isn't mixing like it ought to be!

Your turned back doesn't bother me!
As much as my lack of concern...
Seems to bother you!
And I have lots of that to offer.
I do not miss this dismissing I'VE 'dissed'!

Women's Liberation

Talk to me about the feminist movement,
the gubba middle class
hetero sexual revolution
way back in the seventies
when men wore tweed jackets with
leather elbows, and the women, well
I don’t remember or maybe I just don’t care
or can’t relate.
Now what were those white women on about?
What type of neurosis was fashionable back then?
So maybe I was only a school kid; and kids, like women,
have got on thing that joins that schemata,
like we’re not worth listening to,
and who wants to liberate women and children
what will happen in an egalitarian society
if the women and the kids start becoming complacent
in that they believe they should have rights
and economic independence,
and what would these middle class kids and white women do
with liberation, with freedom, with choices of
do I stay with my man, do I fall in love with other
white middle class women, and it wouldn’t matter if
my new woman had kids or maybe even kids and dogs
Yes I’m for the women’s movement
I want to be free and wear dunlop tennis shoes.
And indigenous women, well surely, the liberation
of white women includes all women regardless . . .
It doesn’t, well that’s not for me to deal with
I mean how could I, a white middle class woman,
who is deciding how can I budget when my man won’t
pay the school fees and the diner’s card club simply
won’t extend credit.
I don’t even know if I’m capable
of understanding
Aborigines, in Victoria?
Aboriginal women, here, I’ve never seen one,
and if I did, what would I say,
damned if I’m going to feel guilty, for wanting something
better for me, for women in general, not just white
middle class Volvo driving, part time women’s studies
students
Maybe I didn’t think, maybe I thought women in general
meant, Aboriginal women, the Koori women in Victoria
Should I apologise
should I feel guilty
Maybe the solution is to sponsor
a child through world vision.
Yes that’s probably best,
I feel like I could cope with that,
Look, I’d like to do something for our Aborigines
but I haven’t even met one,
and if I did I would say
all this business about land rights, maybe I’m a bit
scared, what’s it mean, that some day I’ll wake up
and there will be this flag, what is it, you know
red, black and that yellow circle, staked out front
and then what, Okay I’m sorry, I feel guilt
is that what I should be shouting
from the top of the rialto building
The women’s movement saved me
maybe the 90s will be different.
I’m not sure what I mean, but I know that although
it’s not just a women’s liberation that will free us
it’s a beginning

When I Talk And Think About Albert

sometimes
(did i tell you that this is my
favorite word?)

i am shocked by my own
ingenuity
(sometimes i equate it with
shallowness
a loquacious mouth of the river
falling upon
a rock and smashing its
hands on the
floor of the
earth)

i blame myself for
changing the meaning of a word
like the way
i am changing the meaning of
my life

(or perhaps the lives of
other people
around me)

creating landscapes
putting trees where there are
no mountain
putting talkative women
in the house where
the house is still a
thought

(a student wants to say
i am crazy
but there is also a doubt
whether i am
one
she has the wisdom of
keeping her
mouth in the silent
mode)

i am not stupid
not crazy i still know what right
is,
i can still tell you
who are those in the left
side of the
equation

one day
i redefined a poem
it need not be a house
with a door and
windows

i can simply be stairs
or path
it can simply be a star
on the roof

it can simply be a conversation
without a direction
like a Freudian dialogue on
the sofa
where comfort is actually
moving the paths
of meteors
with a broom and
light

(do you always talk
to achieve
fulfill a mission?
what is your mission?
what is your
purpose?)

women go to the market
buy some things
for the kitchen
they do not linger upon a
talk

men go to their work
thinking about their kids
most of the time
they do not bother about
work really
they also dwell in the bodies
of other women
about those nights away
from the eyes
of their wives

people have scattered minds
unto each other
they pretend that they are devoted
into something
worthwhile

kids go to school
carrying bags filled with books
that they do not bother really reading
if they have to be honest
about who they are
the only care for the games of their
minds in those
playgrounds and
play stations

what kind of world is this
there are only so few
that live
so many people are going to
the places of death
without really knowing
each step

the famous man (you know his name)
discovered the bomb
and from then own
they own all these countries of this world

he is the real meaning and so they claim
him to be
the only meaning of this world
a nuclear god
who cannot die in that history of pain
and misery

may his soul (if he has one)
rest in peace.

The Man Who Loves Women

The man who loves women by women a sought after man
He is loved by Rosy and Kathy and by Julie Ann
You ask them why do they love him and to you they say
About him he does have a nice caring way
Some women like macho men that is their choice
But Rosy and Kathy and Julie Ann like men to be nice
And not rough in their ways and caring and kind
The macho type of male is not hard to find
The man who loves women never puts women down
And he doesn't feel he is the hunk of the town
He is not possessive or in any way rough
And he doesn't think he is macho or think he is tough
A gentle and caring and loving young man
That's why he's loved by Rosy and Kathy and by Julie Ann

The Only Voices I hear Are On The Inside

I was born not being able to hear
Born not hearing my mother tell me I'm dear
Born never listening to anyone who spoke to me
Born not enjoying music
Born without the ability to gauge sound, unable to hear the clock tick
But since the day I was born
Since before I could talk, I could scorn
There was one thing I always did hate
And that was the thing deepest inside of me,
The thing for which I cursed fate
Worse than deafness or being unable to see
Since the day I was born I heard voices
Not when loved ones talked, but voices that weren't my choice
To hear, voices that were inside my head
Voices that nobody else heard, but I didn't know if they were lying
Because my hearing has always been dead
I'd hear screeching or dying
When none was there
Those voices they'd tell me what to do and how could I deny them?
They were, they are, and they will be the only ones who care
Because they're the only one that speak to me, I can't find the sin
That I committed to be born like this, to be born broken
I've heard more conversations than any other man
And yet I've never heard man utter a word, through my whole lifespan
The only voices I hear are on the inside
And it's the greatest torment that I hide
They'll just tell me I'm crazy, well in writing
But these voices, they accept me, they sing
These voices they know because they've talked to me
These voices are the only I've ever known the
The first voices I've ever heard
Like a mother, I've never listened to a singing bird
But I've listened to a cacophonous symphony of arguing inside my head
These voices are like the woman I did not choose, but wed
I can't separate myself from them
The only time I hear anything, it's torment to condemn
Me, it's funny that I could never speak to anyone but myself
But I guess I've never, ever, been lonely... not ever.
I
Have
Never
Been
Alone
W ho could save me from myselves?

Down the River

I’VE done with joys an’ misery,
An’ why should I repine?
There’s no one knows the past but me
An’ that ol’ dog o’ mine.
We camp an’ walk an’ camp an’ walk,
An’ find it fairly good;
He can do anything but talk,
An’ he wouldn’t if he could.

We sits an’ thinks beside the fire,
With all the stars a-shine,
An’ no one knows our thoughts but me
An’ that there dog o’ mine.
We has our Johnny-cake an’ “scrag,”
An’ finds ’em fairly good;
He can do anything but talk,
An’ he wouldn’t if he could.

He gets a ’possum now an’ then,
I cooks it on the fire;
He has his water, me my tea—
What more could we desire?
He gets a rabbit when he likes,
We finds it pretty good;
He can do anything but talk,
An’ he wouldn’t if he could.

I has me smoke, he has his rest,
When sunset’s gettin’ dim;
An’ if I do get drunk at times,
It’s all the same to him.
So long’s he’s got me swag to mind,
He thinks that times is good;
He can do anything but talk,
An’ he wouldn’t if he could.

He gets his tucker from the cook,
For cook is good to him,
An’ when I sobers up a bit,
He goes an’ has a swim.
He likes the rivers where I fish,
An’ all the world is good;
He can do anything but talk,
An’ he wouldn’t if he could.

Push Comes To Shove

(chorus)
Can you be in love
When you live alone
Push comes to shove
When youre bitchin on
Now look at every
Im tonne on you without a doubt
Said the music does the talkin
But all we heard is talk about
The girls are left behind
When forty women all spend time
With me and the boys
And the toys, yeah
Rose said she was fine for two
With blonde hair, by crack it
Miles of blue
Sooge, she was on my side
cause she and nancy
Ah they took me for a ride
The girls are left behind
When forty women all spend time
With me and the boys
And they do, yeah the toys
Talk about it
Walk about it
Talk about it
Talkabubi
Talk about it
Talk about it...
Dedumdudidudi
(chorus)
She looked, well, about 35 to me
When mine was still comin on to you
But I was covered back, back then
cause me and the boys
Knew hot courior
The girls are left behind
When forty women all spend time
With me and the boys
And the toys in the attic
Her sister, she was lank a fin
Never tought Id given in
Her candle of youth was burnin low
But me and the boys
Knew something had to go
The girls are left behind
When forty women all spend time
With me and the boys
Dededudidudu...
Talk about it
Walk about it
Talk about it
Talkabubi
Talk about it
Talk about it...
Dedumdudidudi
