The Hatching Season

droplets
wit nothing than a leaf
and the sun touches
the ground as the
worm waiting the birds
to catch

come little
thunderstorm and let
not the sun shine
its ray, the darkness
still want to
sleep and the firefly
want more to play

cool doesn't make
any sense, for even the
worm wants more to stay,
what makes a
tree grow when nothing
left than just a
river flows

Among All Lovely Things My Love Had Been

AMONG all lovely things my Love had been;
Had noted well the stars, all flowers that grew
About her home; but she had never seen
A glow-worm, never one, and this I knew.

While riding near her home one stormy night
A single glow-worm did I chance to espy;
I gave a fervent welcome to the sight,
And from my horse I leapt; great joy had I.

Upon a leaf the glow-worm did I lay,
To bear it with me through the stormy night:
And, as before, it shone without dismay;
Albeit putting forth a fainter light.

When to the dwelling of my Love I came,
I went into the orchard quietly;
And left the glow-worm, blessing it by name,
Laid safely by itself, beneath a tree.

The whole next day, I hoped, and hoped with fear;
At night the glow-worm shone beneath the tree;
I led my Lucy to the spot, 'Look here,'
Oh! joy it was for her, and joy for me!

Part 4: The fish saves the worm

The big-mouth fish, snatched the worm.
As the worm was afraid; a small piece of him,
was left, on the sharp object.

The fish cuddle him, in his mouth.
Swimming as fast as he can;
to make it, close to the shore.
The fish, spit him out, on the land.

As the worm landed, he look toward the fish.
And said, ' thank you for not eating me? '
I wish you well, the fish said. Take care!

As the worm grind his way, toward a new place.
Knowing this ain't his home, the ground was moist.
He drilled a hole, and discover a new home.

The End....

Dr Worm

They call me Dr. Worm,
Good morning, how are you? I'm Dr. Worm.
I'm interested in things,
I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm,
I am an actual worm,
I live like a worm.
I like to play the drums.
I think I'm getting good, but I can handle criticism.
I'll show you what I know and you can
Tell me if you think I'm getting better on the drums
I'll leave the front unlocked 'cause I can't
Hear the doorbell...
When I get into it, I can't tell if you are
Watching me twirling the stick.
When I give the signal, my friend
Rabbi Vole will play the solo...
Someday, somebody else besides me will
Call me by my stage name, they will
Call me Dr. Worm,
Good morning, how are you? I'm Dr. Worm.
I'm interested in things.
I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm,
I am an actual worm,
I live like a worm.
And I like to play the drums,
I think I'm getting good, but I can handle criticism.
I'll show you what I know and you can
Tell me if you think I'm getting better on the drums.
I'm not a real doctor, but they call me
Dr. Worm!

The Acorn

An acorn swung
On an oak-tree bough;
So long it had hung,
It would fain fall now
To the kindly earth,
That its germ within
Might burst into birth,
And its life begin.

And the autumn came
With its burning hand,
And each leaf grew a flame,
And each bough a brand.
And a worm came up
And began to eat
Though the hard, dry cup
To the acorn sweet.

And the acorn thought,
“I shall soon see now
The life I have sought,
When I fall from the bough;
For the worm gnaws through
Each tendon slight,
That about me grew,
And bound me tight.”

And with dying day
Came the zephyr’s sound;
And the acorn lay
Next morn on the ground;
But its germ was gone
By the worm’s sharp teeth;
And the ground it had won
Was its grave in death.

The (f) Rying Woman....

to pry upon his weakness and to discover
some artifacts from his house is her past time

and every hour when there is a break from the
wanton hours and the monotonous menu of the day

she opens the usual window and watch what the
worm is doing inside the terrarium

she records the possibility that this can be a landmark
of history and significant for what others say as a phenomenon

other people's lives matter
and sometimes the worm that looks at her too asks: why?

the worm, and she does not know this, is also prying upon her
her shrinking breasts, her skin that looks like dry tobacco leaf

her life that to the worm has become more of a raisin
stuffed inside a boxed, with a history of having been dried by the sun

the worm is fair though, in its latest description
she is still sweet though neutral in smell, and deserves still to be liked to be eaten someday

p.s. the worm remarks, kids will like her.

The Dog, Leaf And Worm

THERE is this dog
and it lives a dog's life
it's life has always been
all for the bone.

THERE is this leaf
true to its being a leaf
lives the short life
destined to fall
blown away
rot or burned.

There is this worm
it burrows itself
in that cold and damp
and then
returned to
its humus origin

BUT there is this fish that
i know
a gold fish that swims
against the tide of
the Yellow River
jumps higher
than the barrier
cliff and
transforms itself
into
a Red Dragon

THE dog, worm
and leaf
do not believe this

They all call me
a story teller.

A Mumble....

how i wish to be just everything
a tree full of leaves where some stars hang out tonight
or just fireflies if there be no stars
that will suffice or if there are no fireflies at all
perhaps a candlelight
a lonely candle put upon one of its roots
or if there be none at all
no tree or leaf or ground
or worm
i still just wish that i be everything in that nothing
a space
an echo a dust a wind
i just want to dissipate in everything that comes my way
a memory of you in a minute
or just a crumpled paper
a dew that dries up in air
a mark on the leaf
a scratch of the stone
a left over moss
i just want to have an image of myself
something to think about
for the meantime that you are not here
i simply want to explode
scatter
till no one finds me here

Who Are You?

and the worm
that looks like
a set of thorns
on a glossy leaf
asks the creature
above it with
some wings........................who are you?

and it answered him
i was once in your body
wriggling to be free
asking a lot of questions
to the air and the tree...............i am what you will soon be,

a butterfly...

and the worm does not
believe it greedy as it is
with the sap of the leaves
somehow it feels
something new it is
feeling some wings
growing, some possibilities
lurking inside it.....................................how can this be?

it is the same question
that you have been asking

Another Leaf.....

another leaf

another year
another seed to plant
another tree to grow

there will be no hiding from now on
there will be more
confrontations

no one to trust
everyone is a suspect

love of self
nothing greater than this

another leaf
of the book to turn to
another page
to write on the journal

tomorrow is my day
my own unique beginning

you were all disappointments
my food came to the wrong mouths

there is no wishing for death
for me or for anyone

there is more use to reason now
rather than the flings of the heart

another sun for me
another new moon

my shadows follow me
and not otherwise

another leaf
without a worm

another glistening leaf
dew forgiven.

The World Around the Child Doth Learn

The world around the child doth learn
Whilst low below the beast doth worm.
The child doth know not of the Earth.
The worm knows nothing of its birth.

The river flows a mighty flow
Knowing all the river knows
Shiver sorrow – Sleep in woe
Keep sane until the morrow.

The world around the child doth turn
Whilst low below the beast doth burn.
Learning sorrow – Yearning desire
Leaves him warm beside the fire.

Happy is he to conspire.
So happy is he to respire.

It's Not Fair

I am the worm that never sleeps.
My given name is jealously.
I live within the twisted deeps
of human minds: Wait patiently.

I won’t attack you openly
for that would lead to my defeat
I nurture envy secretly.
I know how hard you must compete

For the success you hope to gain
and when it’s rudely snatched away
I will exacerbate your pain
and make you think a different way.

Why should they have what I cannot.
There is no reason I can see
Injustice makes your blood run hot
and you are wracked with jealousy

I am the worm who slumbers not
residing in the hearts of men
who are unhappy with their lot.
The wakeful worm has won again.

It's time for a little timelessness

I said to the stone,
What time is it?
The stone was silent.

I said to the eagle,
What day is it?
The eagle looked fiercely at me,
Then turned its head away.

I said to the oak tree,
How long were you there?
Silently, the oak tree grew.

I said to the worm,
How long will you take?
The worm continued on its way.

I said to the river,
What takes you so long?
The river ran as ever.

I said to the sun,
Shall we meet here tomorrow?
Shining, the sun gave no sign.

I said to the milk,
When was I born?
Flowing, the milk had no answer.

I said to the earth,
When will you expect me?
The earth held its peace.

And Pooh Bear looked at me very seriously
and said,
‘It’s always time for something..’

The Beacon

The silent shepherdess,
She of my vows,
Here with me exchanging love
Under dim boughs.

Shines on our mysteries
A sudden spark--
'Dout the candle, glow-worm,
Let all be dark.

'The birds have sung their last notes,
The Sun's to bed,
Glow-worm, dout your candle.'
The glow-worm said:

'I also am a lover;
The lamp I display
Is beacon for my true love
Wandering astray.

'Through the thick bushes
And the grass comes she
With a heartload of longing
And love for me.

'Sir, enjoy your fancy,
But spare me harm,
A lover is a lover,
Though but a worm.'

The Ant Worm Story...

shall i finish the story of the ant
and the worm?

at the cliff the worm jumps
landing on the arms of the grounded worm

and there and then
willfully, euphoniously, they both lived
happily ever-after

if you only write it yourself
i could have read a better ending than what i have
lazily imagined.

Dream snow

twinkle like little star in the heaven,
droplets fall; wish and glide call a
shooting star bless by night that
makes the day

oh! wonderful cool breathe move
comes from the sky, for the little soul
wants to fall, touching lives that never
full

amazing fun makes the ground
rich of joy, leads it face run so fine;
though melt as it’s gone and see as it
glows, for a beautiful morning snow
always gone

cheer and care, crystallize snow
patiently wait as you go hands and feet
touch the ground, cool little happy
droplets wish to see

awesome thirst makes the will free …

A big worm,
But 7 inches long in the land of your muse!
And like the words of love;
But rise up and shine to the world! !

And like the muse of this worm as seen around you.

River

Oh!
hyacinth of the sea,
a moisturize droplets
that conquers
the green valley of the plain,
come always find a friend
who cool the heyday
of the sun,
and remember that nothing comes
you too warm embrace
than the wind
that redeems the pasture
green

abundant turmoil
seem you may see, yet! calm
calls you
by name to go; where the river full
the grass may grow, find a way
little darling plant,
thou
gone is the clouds sleep near in the
sun, wrestling the great sky lie
the heaven tears
explode and droplets
arise near the river
flow

oh!
river the arm of the sea,
find the leak
where my heart may break,
wipe out my tears that hide
the low tide and come
near my bedside
tide and I’ll go,
with you

Edge of the Water

On the edge of the water
Worrying more than ought to
river reflects back up at me
the water is cool and calm
a peaceful stream
enters my mind
takes over the steering for me
the river floats around a bend
I'm on the mend
with a tree overlooking the river's curve
two birds make a squawk
skim the river's surface together
river boat bells play to set the mood
