Insomniac
Insomniac sit
With your head on your pillow
And think of the girl who
Lies 'neath the willow
The girl is much more
Much more than she seems
As she longs with a yearning
To reclaim her lost dreams
It's midnight and dark
And she sits there to cry
And hoping and thinking
And planning to die
What good can you do
When you cannot sleep
And you can't ask for help
You can't make a peep
So insomniac lay in
Your cold empty bed
Close your eyes
And lie with the dead
Insomniac rest with
Your corpse in the ground
Your soul is at peace
It won't make a sound
And the willow will stand
In the cold blustery night
Fighting the battles
That you cannot fight

The Insomniac Is Alive
there is yet no pillow designed for him
to make him sleep soundly
instantly like a click of flourescent light
or the blink
the flash of hypnotism
or the tap of his hand
then sleep like a dead dog, this insomniac, like you
(it is 2: 09 a.m. now, and what blinks it only this power
of the computer and it buzzing sound like
an insomniac
bee in a sleepless garden)
sleep is too cruel and unkind
not even trying to hold my collar and pull me to a soft bed
and give me peace and rest
well then
go, go away sleepy butterflies go away to
the place of waking flowers and be distant, distinct and
disappear, there is no logic in this manner
on a restless brain of the insomniac
sleepless again but taking most of the time
he writes letters to friends, emails to peers, ecards to nephews
and nieces, articles for journals, pause and think, and press the keys
of the computer again,
a rat passes by so afraid, a cockroach flies on my ear,
a dragonfly is lost again flying like a chopper on the ceiling
a lizard waits and lets loose its tongue to engulf an early breakfast
a cold wind, a soul touches my head, my hair moves like a river
my fingers tic tac toe, my mind on an abra ca dabra, opening caves
where treasures lie
and you follow me on this lonely trek in the night in the coming
of morning, looking for meanings in this literary locomotion
stop there, because in truth, an insomniac who is still alive
has nothing to offer
except that you, must tell some other stories, in this mutual state,
your eyes awake, your nerves wrecked, your minds still rambling
i am through
it is now your turn to speak how fast the clock ticks
how time runs without our knowing
it is now 2: 20 a.m. in the place of my sleeplessness

Pibroch (Cap In Hand)
In the half-tone light of a young morning
she sighs and shifts on the pillow.
And across her face dancing, the first shadows fly
to kiss the Pussy Willow.
In her fairy-tale world she's a lost soul singing
in a sad voice nobody hears.
She waits in her castle of make-believe
for her white knight to appear.
Pusy Willow down fur-lined avenue
brushing the sleep from her young woman eyes.
Runs for the train, see: eight o'clock's coming
cutting dreams down to size again.
Pussy Willow down fur-lined avenue,
brushing the sleep from her young woman eyes.
Runs from the train. Hear her typewriter humming,
cutting dreams down to size again.
She longs for the East and a pale dress flowing
an apartment in old Mayfair.
Or to fish the Spey, spinning the first run of Spring
or to die for a cause somewhere.
Pussy Willow down fur-lined avenue,
brushing the sleep from her young woman eyes.
Runs from the train. Hear her typewriter humming,
cutting dreams down to size again.
Pussy Willow, Pussy Willow, Pussy Willow, Pussy Willow.

Willow, Willow, Willow
A poore soule sat sighing under a sicamore tree;
O willow, willow, willow!
With his hand on his bosom, his head on his knee:
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow shall be my garland.
He sigh'd in his singing, and after each grone,
Come willow, willow, willow!
Come willow, willow, willow!
'I am dead to all pleasure, my true-love is gone.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow shall be may garland.
'My love she is turned; untrue she doth prove;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
She renders me nothing but hate for my love.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the grene willow, &c.
'O pitty me' (cried he), 'ye lovers each one;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Her heart's hard as marble; she rues not my mone.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.'
The cold streams ran by him, his eyes wept apace;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
The salt tears fell from him, which drowned his face.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
The mute birds sate by him, made tame by his mones;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
The salt tears fell from him, which softened the stones.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow shall be my garland!
'Let nobody blame me, her scornes I do prove;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
She was borne to be faire; I, to die for her love.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'O that beauty should harbour a heart that's so hard!
Sing willow, willow, willow!
Sing willow, willow, willow!
My true love rejecting without all regard.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'Let love no more boast him in palace or bower;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
For women are trothles, and flote in an houre.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'But what helps complaining? In vaine I complaine:
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
I must patiently suffer her scorne and disdaine.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'Come, all you forsaken, and sit down by me,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
He that 'plaines of his false love, mine's falser than she.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'The willow wreath weare I, since my love did fleet;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
A garland for lovers forsaken most meete.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow shall be my garland!'
Part the Second
'Lowe lay'd by my sorrow, begot by disdaine,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Against her too cruell, still, still I complaine.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow shall be my garland!
'O love too injurious, to wound my poore heart,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
To suffer the triumph, and joy in my smart!
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'O willow, willow, willow! the willow garland,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
A sign of her falsenesse before me doth stand.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow shall be my garland.
'As here it doth bid to despair and to dye,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
So hang it, friends, ore me in grave where I lye.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'In grave where I rest mee, hang this to the view,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Of all that doe knowe her, to blaze her untrue.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'With these words engraven, as epitaph meet,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
'Here lyes one, drank poyson for potion most sweet.'
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'Though she thus unkindly hath scorned my love,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
And carelessly smiles at the sorrowes I prove;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'I cannot against her unkindly exclaim,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Cause once well I loved her, and honoured her name.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow shall be my garland.
'The name of her sounded so sweete in mine eare,
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
It rays'd my heart lightly, the name of my deare;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'As then 'twas my comfort, it now is my griefe;
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
It now brings me anguish; then brought me reliefe.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow, &c.
'Farewell, faire false-hearted, plaints end with my breath!
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Thou dost loath me, I love thee, though cause of my death.
O willow, willow, willow!
O willow, willow, willow!
Sing, O the greene willow shall be my garland.'

Sleepless Song
The night approaches
And with it the sleep
That only fitfully comes -
Rest rides reckless
'Til stilled
By the rising sun -
When morning calls
Rise to see
Another all new day -
The insomniac replies
'Tis my only desire,
To sleep it all away -

Early Works - Willow, Willow
Willow, willow
soft swinging low head
sadness brings night tears
to your breast.
Singing of a night wing
circles in the sky
down in the darkness
a life begins to die.
Willow, willow
no answer to give
sunlight brings bright
eyes exploring where you live.
Songs of happy voices
whisper to the breeze
but no one see the tragedy
that lies beneath the leaves.
Willow, willow
watching the world go by
evening breathes a stillness
near the close of the day.
Cries of distant shadows
and shriek of diving claws
hissing into silence
that will soon engulf them all.

Pillow
I try to get comfortable in my bed
But there's always something wrong
with the pillow ‘neath my head.
It's either too warm or sometimes too cold.
I turn it, pummel it
Then toss it aside instead.
But then I miss it and can't decide
Shall I grab it again
Or count to ten?
How can I sleep with no support?
My neck gets stiff. My eyes won't close
And all because of the pillow I chose.
Maybe I need a silk pillowcase,
one that's fringed with fancy lace.
Or maybe it's not the pillow to blame.
Maybe it's my head that's not the same.
It's filled with words and melodies
That makes my pillow hard to please.
I'll try to get comfortable again tonight.
It's my head on that pillow
or a pillow fight.

Just A Girl
I'm just a girl, a hopeless case.
Living in the world a familier place.
I'm just a girl, with tears in her eyes.
Swimming in a pool of cold hearted lies.
I'm just a girl, always second best.
With sleepless nights and no time to rest
I'm just a girl, with scars all around.
Always screaming with out a sound
I'm juts a girl, giving up on life.
Running from my problems headed for the knife
I'm just a girl, who's messed up in the head.
With hope and wishes and prayers to be dead
I'm just a girl, with nothing to live for.
Who shut out the world and fell to the floor.
I'm just a girl, living in fear
In the dark lonely place, flooded with tears.
I'm just a girl, behind closed doors,
soon to be gone and live no more.

Bends Like A Willow
Shes catching the wind: the gentlest of breezes.
Its a sensitive passage shes sailing -
Through stormy straits, navigates my unfathomable failings.
She rises before me, reading me clearly.
Empty nest left pressed in the pillow.
She can shift, she can sway
And bend like a willow.
Im swept in the riptide, caught in a fish trap.
Gift-wrapped in my soft self centre.
Summer sun leaves me as one who can only taste winter.
Shes a good, a good god-send: she can bend like a willow.
With a fully armed angel to cover me quickly.
Im cool under enemy fire.
If I fall, she can crawl right under the wire.
When Im caustic and cold, she might dare to be bold -
Ease me round to her warm way of thinking:
Fill me up from the cup of love that shes drinking.
And I find, given time. I can bend like a willow.
She bends like a willow.

Don't Little Girl
Don’t fall little girl
Don’t let them see you cry
Stand tall little girl
Keep your head held high
~
Don’t express little girl
Don’t let them see the pain in your eyes
Walk on little girl
Walk through all those pitiful lies
~
Don’t forget little girl
Don’t let them do it to you once more
Protect yourself little girl
There’s plenty more in store
~
Don’t hate little girl
That’s what they want you to do
Smile bright little girl
Try you’re hardest to be true
~
Don’t wait little girl
The world will move on without you
Move on little girl
Do what you need to do
~
Don’t look back little girl
You cant change your past
Open your eyes little girl
Enjoy the world while it lasts
~
Live life little girl
Cause you only got one
Laugh loudly little girl
And put down you damn gun
~
You’re me little girl
Haven’t we learned a lot?
But your also them little girl
In each of us you have fought
~
Some call you hope, little girl
You glow dim then turn bright
Some call you dreams, little girl
Thinking of you every night
~
But to me, little girl
You will always just be me
Guide us, little girl
Cause we both just want to be free

Give Me An Inch
(robert palmer)
Give me an inch, girl
Give me an inch, girl
Give me an inch, girl
Give me an inch, girl
My eyes show me more than Ive seen
But unlike my poor heart theyre not cautious
I got to thinking love was a dream
Misunderstanding my fortunes
I should have taken more heed of my heart
Telling me how to live
But if you give me an inch, girl
Ill give you a mile
Oh, Ill make it all worth while
And Ill make you see
Just how much you mean to me
Well aint it easy to go head-over-heels
When you need the right person
You got to learn to smile about it
Nothing you do will feel certain
Here I stand with my heart in command
And its you I want to be with
Give me an inch, girl
Im in need of you
Dont leave me in the cold
When I want to trust in you
Dont turn me away
Life can be a worry
When its all work and no play
Give me an inch, girl
Ill give you a mile
Oh, Ill make it all worth while
And Ill make you see
Just how much
Just how much you mean to me
Give me an inch,
Ill give you a mile
And Ill make you see
Just how much, just how much you mean to me
Give me an inch, girl
Oh , Im in need of you
Dont leave me in the cold
When I want to trust in you

Willow Weep For Me
Ann ronell
Willow weep for me
Willow weep for me
Bent your branches down along the ground and cover me
Listen to my plea
Hear me willow and weep for me
Gone my lovely dreams
Lovely summer dreams
Gone and left me here
To wheep my tears along the stream
Sad as I can be
Hear me willow and weep for me
Whisper to the wind and say thay love has sinned
To leave my heart a sign
And crying alone
Murmur to the night
Hide her starry light
So none will find me sighing
Crying all alone
Wheeping willow tree
Wheeping sympathy
Bent your branches down along the ground and cover me
Listen to me plee
Hear me willow and weep for me
Willow
Willow
Wheep for me

I wanna a girl..!
I wanna a girl,
A girl with Brave Heart,
A girl with an Winning Smile,
A girl who will make me laugh,
A girl who is beautiful,
A girl who is Kind And Strong.
I wanna A girl, A good one,
A girl who don't struts,
A girl who don't fuss,
A girl who's not a bling - bling,
A girl who will stand with me
A girl who will make my Heart Race
I wanna a girl,
A girl who is something special,
A girl who is loving,
A girl with great patience,
A girl I would be lucky to know,
A girl you'd dream About.
I wanna a girl,
A girl who will be my Kryptonite,
I want a girl I'd fight for,
A girl who makes me think,
A girl who feeds me,
A girl who will look After me,
A girl I'd write poetry for.

The Brown's Man's Nocturnal Anxieties
brown man with thick lips
flat nose and bold eyelashes
your face rests on your right arm
you need sleep
you can't
tomorrow is still filled
with anxiety
the night will be insomniac
your eyes are suspicious always
when the lights are finally turned off.

Little Willow
Bend, little willow
Winds gonna blow you
Hard and cold tonight
Life, as it happens
Nobody warns you
Willow, hold on tight.
Nothings gonna shake your love
Take your love away
No ones out to break your heart
It only seems that way...hey
Sleep little willow
Peace gonna follow
Times gonna heal your wounds
Grow to the heavens
Now and forever
Always came too soon.
Little willow
Nothings gonna shake your love
Take your love away
No ones out to break your heart
It only seems that way...hey
Bend, little willow
Winds gonna blow you
Hard and cold tonight
Life, as it happens
Nobody warns you
Willow, hold on tight.

Ill Be The Girl
(george tobin/mike piccirillo)
Ill be the one whos saving all her love for you
Make you so proud - do anything you want me to
You wont even look at those other girls
When you know how good my lovin feels
Ill be the girl that you want me to be
Ill be the girl that you know I can be
Ill be the pillow you cry on when youre feeling down
Ill be the laughter if ever you think you need a clown
I can be your lover and your best friend too
Baby its all here waiting for you
Ill be the girl that you want me to be
Ill be the girl that you know I can be
Ill be the girl that makes dreams come true
Ill be your world - Ill be a shining star - for you

Thriller - Michael Jackson
It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking in the dark
Under the moonlight, you see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes
You're paralyzed
'Cause this is thriller, thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about strike
You know it's thriller, thriller night
You're fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller tonight
You hear the door slam and realize there's nowhere left to run
You feel the cold hand and wonder if you'll ever see the sun
You close your eyes and hope that this is just imagination, girl!
But all the while you hear the creature creeping up behind
You're out of time
'Cause this is thriller, thriller night
There ain't no second chance against the thing with forty eyes, girl
Thriller, thriller night
You're fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller tonight
Night creatures calling, the dead start to walk in their masquerade
There's no escaping the jaws of the alien this time
(They're open wide)
This is the end of your life
They're out to get you, there's demons closing in on every side
They will possess you unless you change that number on your dial
Now is the time for you and I to cuddle close together, yeah
All through the night I'll save you from the terror on the screen
I'll make you see
That this is thriller, thriller night
'Cause I can thrill you more than any ghost would ever dare try
Thriller, thriller night
So let me hold you tight and share a
Killer, diller, chiller, thriller here tonight
'Cause this is thriller, thriller night
Girl, I can thrill you more than any ghost would ever dare try
Thriller, thriller night
So let me hold you tight and share a killer, thriller, ow!
(I'm gonna thrill ya tonight)
Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'alls neighborhood
I'm gonna thrill ya tonight, ooh baby
I'm gonna thrill ya tonight, oh darlin'
Thriller night, baby, ooh!
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller

I Dont Wanna Fight
I can t sleep
Everything I ever knew
Is a lie without you
I can t breathe
When my heart is broke in two
There s no beat
Without you
You re not gone but you re not here
Atleast that s the way it seems tonight
If we can try to end these wars
I know that we can make it right
Cause baby
I don t wanna fight no more
I forgot what we were fighting for
And this lonelyness that s in my heart
Wont let me be apart from you
I don t wanna have to try
Girl to live without you in my life
So I m hoping we can start tonight
Cause I don t wanna fight no more
How can I leave
When everything that I adore
And everything I m living for
Girl it s in you
I can t dream
Sleepless nights have got me bad
The only dream I ever had
Is being with you
I know that we can make it right
It s gonna take a little time
Lets not leave our selves with no way out
Lets not cross that line
That line
I don t wanna fight no more
I forgot what we were fighting for
And this lonelyness that s in my heart
Won t let me be apart from you
I don t wanna have to try
Girl to live without you in my life
So I m hoping we can start tonight
Cause I don t wanna fight no more
Remember that I made a vow
That I would never let you go
I meant it then I mean it now
And I want to tell you so
I don t wanna fight no more oh no
I forgot what we were fighting for
And this lonelyness that s in my heart
Won t let me be apart from you
I don t wanna have to try
Girl to live without you in my life
So I m hoping we can start tonight can we start
Cause I don t wanna fight no more
I don t wanna fight no more
I forgot what we were fighting for
And this lonelyness that s in my heart
Wont let me be apart from you
I don t wanna have to try
Girl to live without you in my life
So I m hoping we can start tonight
Cause I don t wanna fight no more
It s a lie without you without you

You'll Think Of Me (Take 14)
I'm sorry now girl, but I must leave you
There's something deep inside my soul keeps calling me
The winter wind girl, will not deceive you
And in your cold and empty bed, you'll think of me, oh yes
You'll think of me
You'll see me coming, you'll see me going
Don't ask me why, I'm just the kind needs to be free
Just like that outlaw wind keeps on a-blowin'
Yeah, in your cold and empty bed, you'll think of me, oh yes
You'll think of me
Now I know you loved me just like I wanted
I know you'd follow me across an endless sea
But baby I've got a heart that's haunted
Yeah, in your cold and empty bed, you'll think of me, oh yes
You'll think of me
Ah but you should know girl that I'll be crying
Out on that lonely road where not a soul can see
I'll shed my tears for a love that's dying
Yeah, in your cold and empty bed, you'll think of me, oh yes
You'll think of me
The summer sun girl will bring a stranger
And he'll be better to you than I used to be
And when he takes you into his arms girl
Well, in your warm and loving bed, you won't think of me, no, no
You won't think of me
Then in your warm and loving bed, you won't think of me, no, no
You won't think of me
