Ponderings
Life not as grand
as you thought it would be.
This common feeling
has come over me.
Those dreams and desires
that dwelt in my head,
long years of reality
has left them all dead.
My parents did tell me (and I believed)
'you can be anything you want to be'
Now many years later
I have come to know,
though much is promised
tis not always so.
And anything, anything I want to be
is not always the thing
that is needed from me.
Though struggle and pain
makes you stronger they say,
I tire of struggling everyday.
I'm 'strong as an ox'
but still I don't know
which dream to pursue
and which to let go.
All I am seeking
is peace and a bed
and some time to ponder these
thoughts in my head.
As I grow older
my hair turns to snow
and I grow wiser, for one thing I know,
no matter the pressures,
what I want to be
is a healthy old lady
enjoying my tea.

Everyone Is Growing Older
Between warring Countries hostilities do not last
And 'tis true your friend of tomorrow may be your foe of the past
But life goes on as usual that's how it seems to be
And we make friends with the old foe to fight our new common enemy
And everyone grows older but few grow wise and gray
For we still glorify the folly of war in the World of today
And we find things in common when we have a common foe
But as we do grow older few of us do wiser grow,
We celebrate war heroes to die in war is not seen as a sin
And when one war it is over another war begin
To use the name of God in war seems hypocritical that would seem fair to say
And to Moses fifth commandment respect we never pay
Crimes of hate and xenophobia sad to say are on the rise
And everyone is growing older but so few are growing wise.

I Dont Want To Grow Up
When Im lying in my bed at nite
I dont wanna grow up
Nothing ever seems to turn out right
I dont wanna grow up
How do you move in a world of fog thats
Always changing things
Makes wish that I could be a dog
When I see the price that you pay
I dont wanna grow up
I dont ever want to be that way
I dont wanna grow up
Seems that folks turn into things
That they never want
The only thing to live for is today...
Im gonna put a hole in my t.v. set
I dont wanna grow up
Open up the medicine chest
I dont wanna grow up
I dont wanna have to shout it out
I dont want my hair to fall out
I dont wanna be filled with doubt
I dont wanna be a good boy scout
I dont wanna have to learn to count
I dont wanna have the biggest amount
I dont wanna grow up
Well when I see my parents fight
I dont wanna grow up
They all go out and drinkin all night
I dont wanna grow up
Id rather stay here in my room
Nothin out there but sad and gloom
I dont wanna live in a big old tomb on grand street
When I see the 5 oclock news
I dont wanna grow up
Comb their hair and shine their shoes
I dont wanna grow up

Treat Each Living Second As Your Last
When I was five how I wanted to be ten,
I just longed to be a young man,
My mind would wander now and then,
I wanted to be in the grown ups clan.
When I reached ten I thought of being twenty,
By then I'd be driving my car,
Time for the future, well I still had plenty,
Getting older was a distance to far.
Now I've hit twenty I've nothing to fear,
Time fades past me so slow,
I'm still a young man so I've nothing to fear
I've still got a long time to go.
Thirty years old and it's still not too bad,
I've a wife and children I love,
My health is good I love being a dad,
My life is truly a gift from above,
The big four zero has finally come,
I now watch, as my parents grow old,
The thought of that is making me feel numb,
As I know it cannot be controlled.
I'm now in my fifties my children have flown,
This life can be really strange,
Back when I was five I wish I had known,
Growing older you cannot exchange.
Be careful what you wish for it may come true,
Cherish life for it's far too short,
Enjoy what you have age you cannot subdue,
When you're young these facts you distort.
I'm now eighty years old how I wish I were five,
Hindsight's such a wonderful thing,
All those I loved dearly would still be alive,
I'd be thinking of what the future might bring.
You must live for today forget tomorrow,
Just be thankful for being alive,
Though there will be joy as well as sorrow,
It's how we cope that makes us all thrive.
Life is precious don't ever wish it away,
When it's gone it becomes part of the past,
Enjoy your years every wondrous day,
‘' Treat Each living Second As Your Last ‘'
Just A Thought... Something To Share
The pillar of time will test us
humans as we grow older and wiser
with each passing year
we see the good the bad
the strange the weird
the sad the glad
what ever else life has to share
but through it all
through all the pain
the growth the wars
the disasters
that plague this earth
we stand tall and proud
Often we tend to forget
were we come from and who we are
we feel lost alone like nobody cares
but in reality, we just have to
reach out a hand to be loved
to be cared, to be protected,
we tend to think our family’s do not care
but in reality they do they just
don’t know how to show you
how they feel what they need
Humanity is strange as we
often ponder on life’s ifs and buts
sometimes we do things that we regret
thinking at the time it was right
you see the mistakes one dose in their lives
we shake our heads thinking if only I knew
what I now know back then as a teenager
this may be a poem or just a thought
but it was something that needed to be said
something I wanted to share
Who knows if this will help others
to understand the meaning of life
who knows what it really means
to live a full life, to know
and shares ones dreams or
just to accept ones owns fallacy’s
as a human being
live the day, live the moment
and you will be free to be who you want to be.

Dan, My Fling
(jacob brackman/fred gardner)
I said that I felt jailed up
As if our doors were nailed up
I said I needed separate places,
Parties, room to move around in.
I said I needed my fling
Had to get out and do some other thing.
It took me months to calculate
That I had nothing left without you-
(chorus)
Dan, my fling is all flung out
Now Ive got to fall back on dreams
I thought Id try and write you
I thought Id try and phone you
I thought Id try to tell you
That I smell your hair still on my pillow
But youd just mile to please me
Youd shake your head, youd tease me -
Remind me it was I who first claimed
That we both required freedom
(chorus)
Id dream up schemes to meet you,
Id nonchalantly greet you,
Id ask you up for coffee
Anytime you had an hour open.
You say you like my hair long,
You ask me if Ive written any new songs,
Youd laugh, youd turn and cross the street
And leave me dizzy with your laughter -
(chorus)
I hear youre leaving this town,
You and some girl gonna travel around,
You bought a car with foldback seats,
Youll camp out by the lakes and forests.
I lie alone in our old bed,
Your laughter its echoin inside my head.
I close my eyes, I smell your hair
Its like I havent slept in years -
(chorus)

Aging Gracefully
You asked if I'd still love you if you lost all of your hair
Your baldness seems a tragedy: you want more fullness there.
It's strange the way we always wish for what we seem to lack
And anything that goes away is what we'd welcome back.
But hair-well that might be a different story all together
We grow it long or cut it short depening on the weather.
In time, it seems to him there's no such thing as too much hair
She spends her evenings waxing and goes shopping for more Nair.
It really is amusing as we old folks go to bed
She has too much; he has too little hair upon his head.
Perhaps a doctor may invent a way we all can win
By building him a grand toupee with hair plucked from her chin.

Top Of The World
(tom snow)
Ooh, baby Im going crazy
Everytime I think of you
Im excited, so delighted
I finally see the light shine through
I can see a million dreams come true
So hold on
Here we go
Ive got a feeling that is gonna grow
Up to the top of the world
Here I am
There you are
Ive got a feeling that were going far
Up to the top of the world
Gotta go higher, higher
Now the world seems like a sweet dream
When I look into your eyes
Its mystified
Theres no denying
The way you make me feel inside
And its getting stronger all the time
So hold on
Here we go
Ive got a feeling that were gonna grow
Up to the top of the world
Here I am
There you are
Ive got a feeling that were going far
Up to the top of the world
Let me go higher, higher
So hold on
Here we go
Ive got a feeling that is gonna grow
Up to the top of the world
Here I am
There you are
Ive got a feeling that were going far
Up to the top of the world
So hold on
Here we go
Ive got a feeling that is gonna grow
Up to the top of the world
Here I am
There you are
Ive got a feeling that were going far
Up to the top of the world

Through The Years
Through the years, there will be laughter and smiles
Pain and sorrow too
But i will be going through it with you
Through the years, there will be road trips and vacations
Excitement and adventure
But the only thing making them enjoyable is because i'll be with you
Through the years there will be love and romance
Dinners and movies
But the only thing keeping the flame lit is our undying passion
Through the years there will be weddings and receptions
Futures and joyous memories too
But I won't forget the time when we said 'I DO'
Through the years there will be new life and happiness
Late nights and early mornings
But as long as we're by each others side, we'll be fine
Through the years there will be scraps and bruises
Band-aids and kisses
But we'll be there to help them up when they fall
Through the years there will be teenage rebellion and loud music
Fights and rough nights
But we said that no matter what happens we'll never leave each other
Through the years there will be sickness and disease
Doctors and medication
But we'll make it
Through the years there will be heartache and tears
Death and grievances
But I will hold your hand and help you through all of lifes fears
Through the years we'll grow gray and old
Our children will have children of their own
But know this, beyond the grave I will always love you

Keep Your Head
(vs.1)
The day seems so very long
But Im trying to be strong
(trying to be strong)
Well, hold on, I say
Things will soon turn my way
And then Ill have a clear view
But I gotta keep
(chorus)
Keep your head to the sky
I dont need to tell you why
Keep your head to the sky
I dont need to tell you why
(vs.2)
I sometimes get worried
And I wonder why I worry
Cause I know that I will make it through the storm
Im tryin not to lose my cool
Because if in this world I do
The only person thats gonna miss out on everything is me
And I gotta keep
(chorus)
Oooh, ooh
Oh, ooh, oh
Keep your head up
Dont you look down for nobody
Dont you do it, dont you do it
Keep your head
(chorus)
Everydays a struggle
But struggling to be
Is very hard, so very hard
Because Im out here trying to do the right thing
And when I look around heres the wrong thing
Tempting me to make me disagree
About how I feel about me
But I gotta keep
(chorus)

Primary
The innocence of sleeping children
Dressed in white
And slowly dreaming
Stops all time
Slow my steps and start to blur
So many years have filled my heart
I never thought i'd say those words
The further we go
And older we grow
The more we know ...
The less we show ...
The very first time i saw your face
I thought of a song
And quickly changed the tune
The very first time i touched your skin
I thought of a story
And rushed to reach the end
Too soon
Oh remember
Please
Don't change
So the fall came
Thirteen years
A shiny ring
And how i could forget your name
The air no longer in my throat
Another perfect lie is choked
But it always feels the same
So they close together
Dressed in red and yellow
Innocent forever
Sleeping children in their blue soft rooms
Still dream
The further we go
And older we grow
The more we know ...

Stronger Than Cancer, Bob
I felt different, a little tired
worn out, ill here and there
visit the Doctor, did some test
took some picture, waited for the results
A spot in me started small, got bigger
Time will tell, not a good sign
here came the shock
the bad word no one wants
but I take it stride cause i can beat it.
I am strong, I have will, the power to go on
my new slogan Stronger Than Cancer
no one will beat me down
I will grow old, see my boys grow
see them wed, see their kids
I will not give, , no matter when
Stronger Than Cancer
hope will rally, cures to be found
Meds to take, no fakes
I will survive, fight for life
pain will never go, mind so strong
prayers needed, prayers answered
the fight never ends, I will not bend
till the end. I am Stronger Than Cancer
Thanks Brothers, Sisters, Friends and Mother
for the love of me.I will survive

Till I Met You
(odette quesada)
I never dream
cause I always thought that dreaming was for kids
Just a childish thing
And I could swear
Love was just a game that children play
And no more than a game
Till I met you
I never knew what love was
Till I met you
This feeling seems to grow more everyday
I love you more each day
I believe you
I believe in every word when you say
I love you all the way
Now I can swear
Love is not a game that children play
So tell me that youll stay
Till I met you
I never knew what love was
Till I met you
This feeling seems to grow more everyday
I love you more each day...ohhh
You and I should be together
Cant you see, cant you see
(instrumental)
Till I met you
I never knew what love was
Till I met you
This feeling seems to grow more everyday
I love you more each day
Till I met you
I never knew what love was
Till I met you
This feeling seems to grow more everyday
I love you more each day
Till I met you
Till I met you
Till I met you
Till I met you
Till I met you...

A Discarded Dream
A life in writing is all I wanted
I watched other friends reach
pinnacles I could only dream about.
Their writing shone
like bright stars
as mine just gathered dust.
Rejected time and time again
The more I wrote
The more the rejections grew,
until in the end I looked at what I had
and the years I for-fitted
searching, scrambling for a dream
Every glimmer of hope,
and there were plenty
seemed to crumble
and like sand slip through my fingers.
In the end after my mentor and friend died.
The only person to encourage me
when I was filled with despair
something within in me died as well.
I looked back at what I called
all those wasted years.
I then gave up the one thing
that gave my life some meaning.
Discarded it as a child would a broken toy.
The dream I had was broken,
un-repairable so I thought.
I declined to be a nobody
without any future promised land.
Giving up without even taking a stand.
The years tumbled by
and I found much to my surprise
there was no longing left within my eyes.
The faith I had in myself
also died a lonely death.
The love for what I wanted to do
withered without repair.
I put my pen down
I swore for the last time.
No more would I pursue the dream
that had consumed me
Therefore, down the road
I went swearing never to return.
For years that promise I kept.
The fire flickered and dimmed,
but somehow never died
for deep within the embers
a small flame still flickered alive.
A chance encounter,
a request to read someone else’s work
and comment of two was enough.
To ignite the flame
to burn brighter than before.
Awakening a dormant dream
that had been cast aside.
The dream then flourished
with no ending in sight.
Everyday it awakens more.
Therefore, for those who read
what happen to me
don’t discard your hopes and dreams,
for one day you’ll turn a corner
and those dreams will come true.

In Wait!
Your arms are warm wrapped around my body
Your breath, sweet, lazily it wafts over my face
I can feel your chest rise and fall next to mine
Your hair and eyes shine brightly in the dark
As I close my eyes to dream off
I wake in this dark room to find I left the dream behind
The cold air from the window swings its fanged head and bites at my exposures
To think, you were just here
Not a memory but a dream, a wish, my wish
To have that dream in reality
Given two or four years time
That dream will be real
For now I live in a real nightmare until the sun comes
Due to the darkness and lone dreamer
It is hard to find comfort and return to a calm sleep
As thoughts of you press hard on my mind and sway thus
It only deepens the wounded thought that I must wait hours to see you
Hours to hold and years to fulfill that dream
For now I shall dream and dwell upon them
Because dreams give me insight to the future
Let it be a De’javu.

Nature Of Life Journey
Walking in the air, stepping in the wind
should we believe we are flying?
Shattered glass or it will be broken
Do we feel the same thing inside?
If we draw a pictures with different color hues
Will we understand the abstract we have done?
Sometimes we flying not with wings but dreams
Sometimes we broken, always come with a lot of reasons
Also always a lot of reasons to make us to stay calm
It's all just in life abstract drawing we need to see clear thing
Like when anger in soul keep burning all the trust of anything
Fueling by the pain and consuming all innocent dreams
Will be someday we regret as nothing left, but just the ashes
Ashes of something from something beautiful we dream
Could be the ashes just a special life made for one day
For fertilizing soil of hope and grow the remaining new life
Like a tree to find source of sunlight to green all my days
Lot of reasons to fall but i must grow toward light
And my root deeper to earth gravity of life reality
One day i will be stronger to face harsh wind
Walking in the air, stepping in the wind
Flying? yes we can, I believe we can
we can flying when spirit is our wings

Over Easy
You said that its over, over easy
If I let go the pain will subside
cause sayin goodbyes never pretty
And its uglier livin a lie
But answer this one thing for me--why...
What did you mean when you said that is over
I dont understand
How could this be
You promised me
You said forever
Or did you forget
Was I deceived
You needed me
Now its over, overflowing
With dreams that will never come true
You said its a good thing that we found out
Maybe better for me than for me
You wish that something in you would do
What did you mean when you said that its over
I dont understand
How could this be
You promised me
You said forever
Or did you forget
Was I deceived
You needed me
Now its over
Over my head
And I feel like a drowning man
Whos still begging God for rain
What did you mean
Woah woah yeah
What did you mean
When you said its over
I dont understand
How could this be
You promised me
You said forever
Did you forget
Was I deceived
You needed me
Now its over
Over easy
If I let go the pain will subside

I Cannot Promise The Universe Will Grow Wiser And Wiser
I CANNOT PROMISE THE UNIVERSE WILL GROW WISER AND WISER
I cannot promise the Universe will grow wiser and wiser-
I cannot know that greater lights will shine towards the end-
I cannot know that we all of us
Are on the way Up and Up and Up Forever-
I cannot say the Universe is our Continent
And all we need to know is to continue going West in it –
I cannot promise you when Time and Times are Done
A greater Soul or Oversoul-
I do not know what God will give us in the end-
I pray against the all- scattered emptiness and endless darkness-
But who am I and where was I
When the foundations of the earth were laid?
How can I say or know where and what all these other universes are on their way to?
We are not what we dream to be no matter how great and courageous our dreams.
God in my ignorance God in our ignorance-
Where does it all? When will it all? What does it all –Mean?
