The Oleomargarine Man
Once-in the county of Marin,
Where milk is sold to purchase gin
Renowned for butter and renowned
For fourteen ounces to the pound
A bull stood watching every turn
Of Mr. Wilson with a churn,
As that deigning worthy stalked
About him, eying as he walked,
El Toro's sleek and silken hide,
His neck, his flank and all beside;
Thinking with secret joy: 'I'll spread
That mammal on a slice of bread!'
Soon Mr. Wilson's keen concern
To get the creature in his churn
Unhorsed his caution-made him blind
To the fell vigor of bullkind,
Till, filled with valor to the teeth,
He drew his dasher from its sheath
And bravely brandished it; the while
He smiled a dark, portentous smile;
A deep, sepulchral smile; a wide
And open smile, which, at his side,
The churn to copy vainly tried;
A smile so like the dawn of doom
That all the field was palled in gloom,
And all the trees within a mile,
As tribute to that awful smile,
Made haste, with loyalty discreet,
To fling their shadows at his feet.
Then rose his battle-cry: 'I'll spread
That mammal on a slice of bread!'
To such a night the day had turned
That Taurus dimly was discerned.
He wore so meek and grave an air
It seemed as if, engaged in prayer
This thunderbolt incarnate had
No thought of anything that's bad:
This concentrated earthquake stood
And gave his mind to being good.
Lightly and low he drew his breath
This magazine of sudden death!
All this the thrifty Wilson's glance
Took in, and, crying, 'Now's my chance!'
Upon the bull he sprang amain
To put him in his churn. Again
Rang out his battle-yell: 'I'll spread
That mammal on a slice of bread!'
Sing, Muse, that battle-royal-sing
The deeds that made the region ring,
The blows, the bellowing, the cries,
The dust that darkened all the skies,
The thunders of the contest, all
Nay, none of these things did befall.
A yell there was-a rush-no more:
El Toro, tranquil as before,
Still stood there basking in the sun,
Nor of his legs had shifted one
Stood there and conjured up his cud
And meekly munched it. Scenes of blood
Had little charm for him. His head
He merely nodded as he said:
'I've spread that butterman upon
A slice of Southern Oregon.'

'Why do I sing--Tra-la-la-la-la!
Glad as a King?--Tra-la-la-la-la!
Well, since you ask,--
I have such a pleasant task,
I can not help but sing!
'Why do I smile--Tra-la-la-la-la!
Working the while?--Tra-la-la-la-la!
Work like this is play,--
So I'm playing all the day--
I can not help but smile!
'So, If you please--Tra-la-la-la-la!
Live at your ease!--Tra-la-la-la-la!
You've only got to turn,
And, you see, its bound to churn--
I can not help but please!'
The farmer pondered and scratched his head,
Reading over each mystic word.--
'Some o' the Dreamer's work!' he said--
'Ah, here's more--and name and date
In his hand-write'!'--And the good man read,--
''Patent applied for, July third,
Eighteen hundred and forty-eight'!'
The fragment fell from his nerveless grasp--
His awed lips thrilled with the joyous gasp:
'I see the p'int to the whole concern,--
He's studied out a patent churn!'

The King's Breakfast
The King's Breakfast
The King asked
The Queen, and
The Queen asked
The Dairymaid:
"Could we have some butter for
The Royal slice of bread?"
The Queen asked the Dairymaid,
The Dairymaid
Said, "Certainly,
I'll go and tell the cow
Now
Before she goes to bed."
The Dairymaid
She curtsied,
And went and told
The Alderney:
"Don't forget the butter for
The Royal slice of bread."
The Alderney
Said sleepily:
"You'd better tell
His Majesty
That many people nowadays
Like marmalade
Instead."
The Dairymaid
Said, "Fancy!"
And went to
Her Majesty.
She curtsied to the Queen, and
She turned a little red:
"Excuse me,
Your Majesty,
For taking of
The liberty,
But marmalade is tasty, if
It's very
Thickly
Spread."
The Queen said
"Oh!:
And went to
His Majesty:
"Talking of the butter for
The royal slice of bread,
Many people
Think that
Marmalade
Is nicer.
Would you like to try a little
Marmalade
Instead?"
The King said,
"Bother!"
And then he said,
"Oh, deary me!"
The King sobbed, "Oh, deary me!"
And went back to bed.
"Nobody,"
He whimpered,
"Could call me
A fussy man;
I only want
A little bit
Of butter for
My bread!"
The Queen said,
"There, there!"
And went to
The Dairymaid.
The Dairymaid
Said, "There, there!"
And went to the shed.
The cow said,
"There, there!
I didn't really
Mean it;
Here's milk for his porringer,
And butter for his bread."
The Queen took
The butter
And brought it to
His Majesty;
The King said,
"Butter, eh?"
And bounced out of bed.
"Nobody," he said,
As he kissed her
Tenderly,
"Nobody," he said,
As he slid down the banisters,
"Nobody,
My darling,
Could call me
A fussy man -
BUT
I do like a little bit of butter to my bread!"

Give A Little Bit Of Smile
Friends of the universe
I welcome you all
To the world of sunshine and laughter
Theres so much to see if only you could see
That life is so merry, so jolly and free
Come listen to me and hear what I say
Just a little favor from society
cause it only needs a muscle to be happy
So come and show it and give all the love
Refrain:
Give a little bit of smile
And the world would smile too
Yes, a little bit of smile
And the sun will shine through
Give a little bit of smile
Spread the cheers now
Spread them smile after smile
Life will be easy, I promise youll see
Open up your eyes to things of beauty
And remember the world will find its glory
If you and me will only agree
Give a little bit of smile
And the world would smile too
Yes, a little bit of smile
And the sun will shine through
Give a little bit of smile
Spread the cheers now
Spread them wide like the bird
That keeps on flying in the sky
Like the child who listens to a lullaby
Theres a smile that we can share together
Give that smile and love one another
Give a little bit of smile
And the world would smile too
Yes, a little bit of smile
And the sun will shine through
Give a little bit of smile
Spread the cheers now
Spread them smile after smile
A little bit of smile

The Crazy Bull
Look out, here comes a crazy bull
He is crazy
Hide behind the fence, my love
He is coming fast
Just toss me your jacket
And I will fight him for you
Toro, Toro, Toro
Enter the arena
everyone
Is watching me now
Toro, Toro, Toro
Crazy bull
Little by little
I am taming you
They are going to open up the gates
To his pen
So this beaten bull can leave
Now he returns back home
Looking like a lamb
Toro, Toro, Toro

A Crooked Smile (song)
With your deep brown eyes
and your crooked smile
you swept me away for
quite a while when you smiled
a crooked smile
Then you came and
asked for a chance
but all I said was
How bout a dance
and then you smiled
A crooked smile
(Chorus)
Now your gone
and I'm missing you
and my broken Heart
wont be in two
when you smile
a crooked smile
Years have passed
and tears have too
but all I know
is I love you
and your smile
your crooked smile
Yesterday when you
got off the plane
you ran to my side
cuz I stood at your gate
and then you smiled
a croooked smile
You pulled me close
and said hello
but I could see
you were being mellow
til you smiled
a crooked smile
(Chorus)
now your here
and I'm loving you
and my broken heart
won't be in two
when you smile
a crooked smile
Moments passed
and memories made
And I know there ain't a better day
then when you smile
a crooked smile
Oh when you smile
my heart goes wild

I Have Taken Your Slice Of Bread
i have taken your slice of bread
from the table
it is for you
as i have already eaten mine
early
this morning
forgive me
i have learned
to eat more
and took
without so much
thinking
your share
the slice of bread
one half bigger
than mine

Start Another Smile
One smile starts another smile
And spread all over joy for miles
And bring the ray of hope for all
Whether they are big or small
For a smile is like a sunshine
That spread happiness just like wine
And give the courage and the hope
To swim bravely in tears of mope
So try to pass on a smile
To others all for a while
As smile gives a sunnier touch
To our lives that means so much.

A smile...
A smile has beauty, a smile has charm,
You can give it freely, it will do no harm.
A smile is a frown you turn upside down,
I makes the heart happy, it spreads love around.
A smile is warm and bright like radiant sun light,
Wear it all day long until you lay down at night.
A smile is your gift to others it cannot be sold,
It can bring untold pleasure in the heart to behold.
A smile is worth nothing until you've given it away,
When you receive it your own smile lights up the day.
A smile has value worth more than heaven above,
It can fill the heart with feelings of peace and of love.
A smile is for all of us, it's actions are always true,
It creates a happy feeling, for me and for you.
A smile is the gift we can give our fellow man,
Spread the peace and love, enhance the happy plan...
Spread the love... The peace will follow...

Smiling
The beach makes me smile
I love the color of the water
And the feel of the salty air
On my skin
Hearing my favorite song on the radio makes me smile
I'll roll down the windows
And sing along
Just a little bit off key
Seeing other people smile, makes me smile
Laughing children,
Happy cashiers at the grocery store
As they ring up my loaf of bread
It's the simplest things that make me smile
But do you know what makes me smile most of all?
Being near you makes me smile
I would like to smile the rest of my life

Recipe For A Hippopotamus Sandwich
A hippo sandwich is easy to make.
All you do is simply take
One slice of bread,
One slice of cake,
Some mayonnaise
One onion ring,
One hippopotamus
One piece of string,
A dash of pepper -
That ought to do it.
And now comes the problem…
Biting into it!

A Different Smile
I pass you in the hall and smile.
But its a different kind of smile.
Instead of hoping you'll smile back,
I smile because I'm stronger,
and hoping I can get over you.
I smile because I have hope,
I smile not because I want you back,
I smile because I don't need you.
Don't get me wrong,
you're a great friend,
and maybe you won't even know of this secret battle,
but God has made me strong.
I pass you now and look up,
not put my head down and pretend
the i wasn't 'heart broken.'
Thank you for the times we had,
but I broke it off for a reason and
you're happy now, witch is all I could ask for.
I smile and a piece of my heart doesn't
break off and shatter. My heart is still intact,
and I'm focusing on more important things.
Farewell, maybe we could work on our friendship,
so I smile and continue walking down the hall.

Innocent smile
Innocent smile
So nice and innocent smile
Spread wings just now for a while
Beautiful appearance like rose petals
Color so beautiful and fragrance on arrival
What a girl child has to speak?
All lovely tales smilingly with shining cheeks
Those lovely deep signs make magic spell
Everything is not going end so well
Just stepping in youth will invite problems
Starting of bad sign with all troubles
Anybody may try to take advantage
Luring from all directions to put in cage
Culprits may spread the dragnet
They will not allow her to know or let
It will be all swift and not to anybody’s knowledge
Black spots spread on all the golden pages
I wish her to spread wings
Dance in open and beautifully sing
Spread the message of love and invite
All scenes of glory and slowly light
Let her live in sweet memory
Enjoy innocent stage with no sorry
Let that lovely flower boom
Let there be no worry or room
If crushed before time may spell doom
Whole life may be overcastted with gloom
Happiness may never surface again
Flower may die it builds any chain
Let garden have thousand of flowers
All with its fragrance and shining colors
To enjoy the beauty from distance
Not to pluck or harm even at once

Let me sing
Let me sing
let me sing a song
to make you smile
Let me smear your soul
with my song
Let me sing a song
for elegance of your heart
I don't sing to persuade yo
but I want to see smile
on your lips
So you smile like the flowers
you scream like the gale
you smile like the moonlit night
Scrimpness in your smile
will make me squint
to realise your happiness
So, smile, smile and smile
See! the moonlit night
which is ever smiling
See! the blooming flower
smiling throughout life
See! the waves of ocean
screaming days and night
If you do not smile or scream
it will not adore
smile on your face
embellish you more than any ornament
then I will think
my song is made for you

Saltbush Bill
Now is the law of the Overland that all in the West obey --
A man must cover with travelling sheep a six-mile stage a day;
But this is the law which the drovers make, right easily understood,
They travel their stage where the grass is bad, but they camp where the grass is good;
They camp, and they ravage the squatter's grass till never a blade remains.
Then they drift away as the white clouds drift on the edge of the saltbush plains:
From camp to camp and from run to run they battle it hand to hand
For a blade of grass and the right to pass on the track of the Overland.
For this is the law of the Great Stock Routes, 'tis written in white and black --
The man that goes with a travelling mob must keep to a half-mile track;
And the drovers keep to a half-mile track on the runs where the grass is dead,
But they spread their sheep on a well-grassed run till they go with a two-mile spread.
So the squatters hurry the drovers on from dawn till the fall of night,
And the squatters' dogs and the drovers' dogs get mixed in a deadly fight.
Yet the squatters' men, thought they haunt the mob, are willing the peace to keep,
For the drovers learn how to use their hands when they go with the travelling sheep;
But this is the tale of a Jackaroo that came from a foreign strand,
And the fight that he fought with Saltbush Bill, the King of the Overland.
Now Saltbush Bill was a drover tough as ever the country knew,
He had fought his way on the Great Stock Routes from the sea to the big Barcoo;
He could tell when he came to a friendly run that gave him a chance to spread,
And he knew where the hungry owners were that hurried his sheep ahead;
He was drifting down in the Eighty drought with a mob that could scarcely creep
(When the kangaroos by the thousand starve, it is rough on the travelling sheep),
And he camped one night at the crossing-place on the edge of the Wilga run;
"We must manage a feed for them here," he said, "or half of the mob are done!"
So he spread them out when they left the camp wherever they liked to go,
Till he grew aware of a Jackaroo with a station-hand in tow.
They set to work on the straggling sheep, and with many a stockwhip crack
The forced them in where the grass was dead in the space of the half-mile track;
And William prayed that the hand of Fate might suddenly strike him blue
But he'd get some grass for his starving sheep in the teeth of that Jackaroo.
So he turned and cursed the Jackaroo; he cursed him, alive or dead,
From the soles of his great unwieldly feet to the crown of his ugly head,
With an extra curse on the moke he rode and the cur at his heels that ran,
Till the Jackaroo from his horse got down and went for the drover-man;
With the station-hand for his picker-up, though the sheep ran loose the while,
They battled it out on the well-grassed plain in the regular prize-ring style.
Now, the new chum fought for his honour's sake and the pride of the English race,
But the drover fought for his daily bread with a smile on his bearded face;
So he shifted ground, and he sparred for wind, and he made it a lengthy mill,
And from time to time as his scouts came in they whispered to Saltbush Bill --
"We have spread the sheep with a two-mile spread, and the grass it is something grand;
You must stick to him, Bill, for another round for the pride of the Overland."
The new chum made it a rushing fight, though never a blow got home,
Till the sun rode high in the cloudless sky and glared on the brick-red loam,
Till the sheep drew in to the shelter-trees and settled them down to rest;
Then the drover said he would fight no more, and gave his opponent best.
So the new chum rode to the homestead straight, and told them a story grand
Of the desperate fight that he fought that day with the King of the Overland;
And the tale went home to the Public Schools of the pluck of the English swell --
How the drover fought for his very life, but blood in the end must tell.
But the travelling sheep and the Wilga sheep were boxed on the Old Man Plain;
'Twas a full week's work ere they drafted out and hunted them off again;
A week's good grass in their wretched hides, with a curse and a stockwhip crack
They hunted them off on the road once more to starve on the half-mile track.
And Saltbush Bill, on the Overland, will many a time recite
How the best day's work that he ever did was the day that he lost the fight.

Smile--Smile--Smile
A smile is beautiful with all its charm
Something to give but does no harm
A smile is a frown only upside down
It has a good feeling, just look around
A smile is a flash that cannot be sold
It has everlasting pleasure we are told
A smile is like the sunshine at its very best
Some wear it all the time until they lay down to rest
A smile is valuable like silver and gold
But it cannot be bought just always on hold
A smile is nothing till someone gives it away
Just try your best to receive it some day
A smile is like a statue that enriches the mind
You cannot steal or throw away but not hard to find
A smile is for the rich also for the poor
The benefits are the same till there is no more
A smile is for everyone with its action so true
It creates happiness in the home for me and you
A smile is a smile as known to mankind
Stand up in front and smile not stand behind.

On that cold October Night
On That Cold October Night
We sat on the swing and listened to the dark
The Lake looked holy
undisterbed like a virgin
Pure
Almost innocent
The moon reflected off the water with athority
Like it knew it was sopost to be there on that very lake
The stars were scatted across the sky as if they were waching us
I drew in the night
I took a deep breath
His voice made the unsure streets of my mind sertain
His laugh made me melt
But his touch
Opened up every city to my soul
His Touch
Scremed out my past
His touch made everything I am and ever was
He made my heart know
He was the black to my white
The love to my fight
His every movment made me smile
But I'd never let him know
Where we stood on the beach
I playfully drew a heart in the sand with my feet
He glanced over at me
I half smiled at him
He stepped closer and put his arms around me
'You look cold' He whispered in my ear
The angels sang
I could hear the smile in his voice
He always did this
Played with my emotions like a puppet
He had no idea
That I always thought of him
He was stamped to my thoughts
Stained on my mind
would he ever want me?
Would he ever care?
Would he still hold me when I had greesy hair?
And when I had a bad day
Would he still be around?
Would he still hold me while I was crying curl up on the ground?
He turned my body towred his
Our belly's touched
He stroked my face like I was an expenise peice of velvet
My heart was racing
I could feel my eyes fill up with questions
confusion
He must of noticed cause he let out a chuckle
Then leaned in closer
Was this it?
My once apon a time?
My commence to a new begining?
His perfect eyes shut
His smooth lips seperated
I breathed in the night and all the life around me
Lust pumped through my vains
Like a firework
Like pulling a trigger
Like dropping a bomb
A wave of electricity shot through me
Every inch of my body and soul sparked
I could feel him smiling
The stars danced
The breeze wrapped around us
Bright coloerd leaves scammped across the frosted grass
To go spread the great news
I rested my head on his shoulder
He was finally mine
And like I always knew
When I kissed him
And he kissed me
The world would stop
and we'd both be free
On That Cold October Night
He caught me by surprise
I've always loved surprises

A Smile
A smile brightens a darkened room.
A smile converts an air of gloom.
A smile is the gate to a happy mind.
A smile is a treasure all must find.
A smile is so needed at this time of strife.
A smile means we’re in charge of life.
A smile lost is an opportunity missed.
A smile is an opportunity to never resist.
A smile spreads its rays like sun above.
A smile sends joy and engenders love.
A smile costs nothing but has limitless worth.
A smile is as valuable as anything on earth.

A cream tea to live for
It’s the flash of bright sunlight
reflected off a passing car
that stops me in my tracks –
picking out the teatime plate which
-since I’m one of those who motivate themselves
by the ‘reward’ system –
twenty minutes of gardening
have made all the sweeter:
a slice of soda bread, warm
from baking just two hours ago;
spread with crumbly-textured home-made cream cheese
(got it right this time, as much by accident) ,
and spread on this, red strawberry jam;
a slight mound here and there
implying a whole fruit promising itself
in this superior ‘preserve’..
the sunlight shining on its gleaming surface
it’s like those foodie photographs
(and yes, I know, they have to use
shaving foam because of those hot studio lights…):
those photographs in the lifestyle section
which we linger over, but have
already decided long ago,
yes, that’s for me; or, that’ll never be for me…
today, it seems, its perfection
is, for me: for this, heaven and earth were made;
if the gods are to be sought,
they are only to be sought
in the present moment.
Today, they do not fail. Nor I. Nor I.
