The Division Superintendent
Baffled he stands upon the track
The automatic switches clack.
Where'er he turns his solemn eyes
The interlocking signals rise.
The trains, before his visage pale,
Glide smoothly by, nor leave the rail.
No splinter-spitted victim he
Hears uttering the note high C.
In sorrow deep he hangs his head,
A-weary-would that he were dead.
Now suddenly his spirits rise
A great thought kindles in his eyes.
Hope, like a headlight's vivid glare,
Splendors the path of his despair.
His genius shines, the clouds roll back
'I'll place obstructions on the track!'

Still I Rise
Shattered, but I'm not broken
Woudned still time will heal
Heavy the load the cross I bear
Lonley, the road I trod I dare
Shaken, but here I stand
Weary, still I press on
Long are the nights, the tears I cry
Dark are the days, no sun in the skys
Yet still I rise
Never to give up
Never to give in
against all odds
Yet still I rise
High above the clouds
Yet times I feel low
yet still I rise
Sometimes I'm troubled
But not is despair
Struggling, I make my way through
Trials they come to make me strong
I must endure, I must hold on.
Yet still I rise
Never to give up
Never to give in
agasint all odds
Yet still I rise
High above the clouds
At times I feel Low
Yet still I rise
Above all my problems
Above all my eyes can see
Knowing God is able
To strengthen me
To strengthen me
Yet still I rise
High above the clouds.

Hell
Like the clack of the track
The rhythm goes on and on
The rail runs cold into the black
Away into a sunset for all
The clouds are white, turning black
All fear thrives along with our sins
Pushing away it's just a fact
They come back haunting over and over again
Four best words, just an excuse
The reasons dwell pure under my realm
For just a pleasure people I reduce
Clouds my eyes in a film
The whistle blows cold to the air
The train shudders, decreases, and stops
I disembark in a new land and stare
At the land of everything that's not

The Dead Coach
At night when sick folk wakeful lie,
I heard the dead coach passing by,
And heard it passing wild and fleet,
And knew my time was come not yet.
Click-clack, click-clack, the hoofs went past,
Who takes the dead coach travels fast,
On and away through the wild night,
The dead must rest ere morning light.
If one might follow on its track
The coach and horses, midnight black,
Within should sit a shape of doom
That beckons one and all to come.
God pity them to-night who wait
To hear the dead coach at their gate,
And him who hears, though sense be dim,
The mournful dead coach stop for him.
He shall go down with a still face,
And mount the steps and take his place,
The door be shut, the order said!
How fast the pace is with the dead!
Click-clack, click-clack, the hour is chill,
The dead coach climbs the distant hill.
Now, God, the Father of us all,
Wipe Thou the widow’s tears that fall!

Hi Nrg
(i. levine / f. trench)
High energy, your love is lifting me.
Oh, yeah...
High energy, your love is lifting me,
Lifting me high...high...
Oh, so high.
It was only last week when we first met,
And I was walking down the street.
You came up from behind me and I knew
That our eyes were gonna meet.
Thats when I fell into your arms,
Imagine my surprise.
I thought this only happened in fairy-tales,
Love hit me right between the eyes.
Ooh
High energy, your love is lifting me.
Oh, yeah...
High energy, your love is lifting me,
Lifting me high...high...
When you called me on the telephone,
You made my spirits rise.
Im glad the others didnt last;
Its a blessing in disguise.
Every time youre touching me,
It gives me such a thrill.
When I look deep into your eyes,
My heart just cant keep still.
Oh, no, no, no!
High energy, your love is lifting me.
Ooh, yeah... high energy, your love is lifting me,
Lifting me high...high...(oh so high)
All the gold thats in fort knox,
Couldnt buy this happiness.
And with your love, I dont need money,
I dont need success.
I became a victim of a certain love attack.
It happened in the blink of an eye,
And theres no holding back.
No, no ,no ,no!
High energy, your love is lifting me. (oh, yeah)
High energy, your love is lifting me. (oh, yeah...high)
High energy, your love is lifting me. (oh, yeah)
High energy, your love is lifting me.
Lifting me high...

The Old You
roll the note up tightly
tap the card just lightly
you do the same thing nightly
now you tilt your head back
your mind is trippin off track
all that you can see is black
this time you've gone too far
you've forgotten who you are
you used to be a rock star
with your tattoos and your guitar.
your body was so masculine
now you're so pale and thin
you've changed... where do i begin?
dont you wonder where you could be?
or how it would feel to live drug-free?
why cant you see what we all see?
you used to have the meanest glare
now all you do is sit and stare
i'll always remember you standing there
with your tattoos and your guitar.
Listen To The Eight Track
(mick, Ive got a...)
There must be one million stories in new york city, the naked city, and this is one of em
I live out on the island, and I got problems
My mom dont like me, cause she says I know sultan(? )
Sitting in the cark park, in my old buick skylark
Getting high, getting high,
Getting high on the eight track
Oh, listen to the eight track
Oh, listen to the eight track
Oh, listen to the eight track
Oh, listen to the eight track
Oh it aint easy, when you gotta survive
Keep on giving death, just to survive
Oh get out into the car park, sitting in my own buick skylark in the dark
Oh, n Ill listen to the eight track
Oh, Ill listen to the eight track
Oh, listen to the eight track
Oh, listen to the eight track
Yeah, cant wind it back
Listen to the eight track
In between the seats, in the cracks
Listen to the eight track
Oh sometimes I get a woman in here
And I put on bruce springsteens new double album
And then, just when everythings getting hot
I start turning the volume right down low
Baby, let me snuggle right next to you
You turned to me sweetly, you know what she said,
She said, turn up the eight track
Oh listen to the eight track
Oh listen to the eight track, aint no winding it back
Listen to the eight track
Listen to the eight track
Listen to the eight track
There must have been about a million stories in new york city, the naked city, and this has been one of them!

Last Train To The Coast
Why don't we jump the rail
ride the last train to the coast
watch the sea rise and fall
escape if only for a little while
to feel that fresh sea air again
maybe we could stay for a bit
make up a weekend perhaps
lets not make any plans
aside from boarding the last train
steel wheels powering along
to another place, away from here
it sounds so simple, maybe it is
why don't we jump the rail
rise the last train to the coast
make love on the beach
or just sit and talk about love
lets drink by a fire and toast
our future rolling out ahead of us
were on track you and me
why don't we just jump the rail
catch the last train to the coast

The Path
There is no turning back from this unending path of mine
Serpent turning back it stands before my eyes
To hell and back it will lead me once more
Its all I have as I stumble in and out of grace
I walk through the gardens of dying lights
And cross over rivers deep and dark as the night
Searching for reasons why time passes by
With every step I take the less I know myself
And every vow I break on my way towards your heart
Countless times Ive prayed for forgiveness
But God just laughed at my face
And this path remains
Leading me into solitude zones
I seek through the darkness my way back home
The journey seems endless but Ill carry on
The shadows will rise and day will fall
And a night turns in dawn
And after the tears this smile all angels grieve with an envious song
When looking into strangers eyes
And I know where I belong
I walk through the gardens of dying lights
And cross over rivers deep and dark as the night
Searching for reasons why time passes by
I seek through the darkness my way back home
The journey seems endless but Ill carry on
The shadows will rise and day will fall
And a night turns in dawn

Deep
blank stare
disrepair
there's a big black hole gonna eat me up someday
(but) someday
fades away
like a memory - or a place that you'd rather be
some place
lost in space
an itch in my head that's telling me somewhere
somewhere
out there anywhere I don't care get me out of here
if I could feel
all the pins and the pricks
if you were real
I could take what's apart and put it all back together now
this will come true
help me get through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
all I can do
driving me through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
one track
got you on your back
your skin speaks up but you lips couldn't say it
right now I know somehow
we could take the chance and we could make it make it
right here make it all disappear
everything that we've been missing missing
you make me feel
like there's a part of me
that I want to get back again
make this come true
help me get through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
all I can do
pushing it through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
all I can do
driving on through
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
you're slipping through
I'm coming, too
into you
deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep
we could become
two into one
leave this behind
over and done
everything new
I'm getting through
into you

Ben Duggan
Jack Denver died on Talbragar when Christmas Eve began,
And there was sorrow round the place, for Denver was a man;
Jack Denver's wife bowed down her head -- her daughter's grief was wild,
And big Ben Duggan by the bed stood sobbing like a child.
But big Ben Duggan saddled up, and galloped fast and far,
To raise the longest funeral ever seen on Talbragar.
By station home
And shearing shed
Ben Duggan cried, `Jack Denver's dead!
Roll up at Talbragar!'
He borrowed horses here and there, and rode all Christmas Eve,
And scarcely paused a moment's time the mournful news to leave;
He rode by lonely huts and farms, and when the day was done
He turned his panting horse's head and rode to Ross's Run.
No bushman in a single day had ridden half so far
Since Johnson brought the doctor to his wife at Talbragar.
By diggers' camps
Ben Duggan sped --
At each he cried, `Jack Denver's dead!
Roll up at Talbragar!'
That night he passed the humpies of the splitters on the ridge,
And roused the bullock-drivers camped at Belinfante's Bridge;
And as he climbed the ridge again the moon shone on the rise;
The soft white moonbeams glistened in the tears that filled his eyes;
He dashed the rebel drops away -- for blinding things they are --
But 'twas his best and truest friend who died on Talbragar.
At Blackman's Run
Before the dawn,
Ben Duggan cried, `Poor Denver's gone!
Roll up at Talbragar!'
At all the shanties round the place they'd heard his horse's tramp,
He took the track to Wilson's Luck, and told the diggers' camp;
But in the gorge by Deadman's Gap the mountain shades were black,
And there a newly-fallen tree was lying on the track --
He saw too late, and then he heard the swift hoof's sudden jar,
And big Ben Duggan ne'er again rode home to Talbragar.
`The wretch is drunk,
And Denver's dead --
A burning shame!' the people said
Next day at Talbragar.
For thirty miles round Talbragar the boys rolled up in strength,
And Denver had a funeral a good long mile in length;
Round Denver's grave that Christmas day rough bushmen's eyes were dim --
The western bushmen knew the way to bury dead like him;
But some returning homeward found, by light of moon and star,
Ben Duggan dying in the rocks, five miles from Talbragar.
They knelt around,
He raised his head
And faintly gasped, `Jack Denver's dead,
Roll up at Talbragar!'
But one short hour before he died he woke to understand,
They told him, when he asked them, that the funeral was `grand';
And then there came into his eyes a strange victorious light,
He smiled on them in triumph, and his great soul took its flight.
And still the careless bushmen tell by tent and shanty bar
How Duggan raised a funeral years back on Talbragar.
And far and wide
When Duggan died,
The bushmen of the western side
Rode in to Talbragar.

Dixie Flyer
(Susan Longacre/Jim Photoglo/Russell Smith)
Well the first thing I remember is the smell of burnin' cinders
And the sound of that old whistle on the wind
I always wondered where the train was going
But I never cared at all where it had been
Yeah the first chance I got, I was gone like a shot
Following that old dream of mine
My only desire was to catch that flyer
And ride it to the end of the line
My life is like a Dixie Flyer
She don't ever look back
So pour on the coal
Let the good times roll
Till the train runs out of track
Full speed ahead no I ain't stoppin' yet
I feel that drivin' wheel down in my soul
I been some places where the train don't stop
Some places where the train don't even go
Yeah some are satisfied just to sit on the side
And watch as the trains roll by
That ain't me, there's too much to see
Gonna roll until the day that I die
My life is like a Dixie Flyer
She don't ever look back
So pour on the coal
Let the good times roll
Till the train runs out of track
Till the train runs out of track
Till the train runs out of track

Still I Rise
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Sun of Hope and Greed
The sun will set.
The sun will rise
Tomorrow will be
Another day, the sun
Will set the sun will rise
But only in Gods eyes,
He hears our cries
Our prayers of
Hope and greed
But we know when
The sun sets it will raise
To greet another day

Jenny Dreamed Of Trains
This song was first released on the all aboard! album. it is the only album it has been released on.
When jenny was a little girl, she only dreamed of trains
She never played with dolls or lacy kinds of things
Jenny counted boxcars instead of counting sheep
She could go anywhere when she went to sleep
All she ever talked about was getting on to ride
She was living in another time you could see it in her eyes
And every day after school shed head down to the track
Waiting for the train that was never coming back
Jenny dreamed of trains
When the nighttime came
Nobody knew how she made it come true
Jenny dreamed of trains
The depots been boarded up, the rails have turned to rust
There hasnt been a train through here since the mill went bust
No one believed her when she said she heard the train
Said she was just a little girl acting kind of strange
Jenny dreamed of trains
When the nighttime came
Nobody knew how she made it come true
Jenny dreamed of trains
Jenny laid a penny on the track one day
In God we trust she walked away
The very next morning all she could find
Was a little piece of copper squashed flatter than a dime
Jenny dreamed of trains
When the nighttime came
Nobody knew how she made it come true
Jenny dreamed of trains
Nobody knew how she made it come true
Jenny dreamed of trains

It's last rise
The sun will have its last rise
It will be called his demise
The last hope is faded
Everything is lost or traded
To give light is his obligation
Nothing stands in between sacred relation
It has to be done in one revolution
World must be brought to life in rotation
It is for sure that there is something like confidence
Some tragic even can take place for as an incidence
But if that is coupled with trust there is no looking back
Life is on without problem and on positive track
One can take step forward positively
It is mere recognition and urge intensively
Nothing remains in mind with fear of without
Whole future is given away for all out
There is silver line in dark clouds
There may not be any danger or sound
Something else may take on with last hope
The balance will have to be maintained on rope
It is confident appeal and real belief
The future may be lived on with relief
No one may deceive in course of action
Life is hanging on hope without any reaction

Passing Trains In Winter Rain
Adrift within a dismal night,
While trudging down deserted track,
Beyond the bend, a peering light,
Illumed alone through vacant black.
Such are the tricks that fate will feign,
With passing trains in winter rain.
The darkling sky, sighed, dripping dew,
Beguiling to the trek anew.
In diamond dusk the demons came,
There was no dread, there was no claim,
But distant thoughts will entertain
On passing trains in winter rain.
Through shadow's fog a form appeared,
Which slowed its pace as though it feared,
A lonesome, meek and wistful thing,
A fallen bird with broken wing.
Such are the shapes and weary strain
Of passing trains in winter rain.
We paused a moment, side by side,
And in each face a question lay.
The answer which our eyes replied
Was she and I had separate way,
We had our courses to maintain
Like passing trains in winter rain.
I often harken, reaching back,
To hear the formless twisted track
Muse "Few have loved though all have toyed
Inside this vast and vacant void -
The what and why? At heart, mundane! "
We're passing trains in winter rain...

My Hope Is In You
Rise and shine.
Rise above the barriers.
Rise above conspiracy.
Rise, my hope is in you.
I hope for a better day,
Tomorrow...
I hope for a great weather,
Tomoroww...
I hope for joy and success,
Your success.
My hope is in you.
My hope is in you.
I hope peer pressure
Won't mislead you..
I hope you understand,
Fun doesn't mean, ,
VIOLENCE, RISK and DANGEROUS!
I hope you live up,
Not to my expectations,
But to your possible opportunities.
Just be a kid, , ,
And i'll be a caring parent.
Just listen, , ,
And i'll inspire you.
My hope for this country
Is in you.
For you are the future
Of the nation.
Choose education,
Choose alcohol and drug
Free life.
Choose success not sorrow.
Because my hope is in you.
My hope is in you.
Be robust and intrepid,
Be courageous and considerate,
Be wise and focus on your
Future because,
My hope is in you.
