Stephen J. Field

Here sleeps one of the greatest students
Of jurisprudence.
Nature endowed him with the gift
Of the juristhrift.
All points of law alike he threw
The dice to settle.
Those honest cubes were loaded true
With railway metal.

Settle Down My Boy

Settle down, an eat your peas and gravy, my boy
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Stop wasting all your time with running around the town
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Knuckle down and find a job and take some responsibility
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
The futures something you should be thinking about
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Look around for a wife to start a family, my boy
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Listen toy our father and hell tell you the same as me
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Your words would go in one ear and out the other side
Dont say my head was empty and I had things to hide
And you better put something away for your old age
So settle down, settle down my boy settle down
Settle down, settle down my boy settle down uh huh huh

Loaded Dice

By dickey betts and warren haynes
(c) 1990 cbs records, inc.
Transcribed by matt dickie
Pocket full of money
Got a big smile all on my face
Boy and I can charm the diamonds
Right off the back of a rattlesnake
But youve got me so confused
Cut me cold as ice
I aint used to losing
Guess Im playing with loaded dice
Well the first time that I saw you
Said youd just dumped your old man
Then the next time you was dealin
Must have dealt me a losing hand
Woman I tried to win your love
Just cant pay the price
Keep throwing in sevens
I keep on playing with loaded dice
Well I thought I was a hustler
But you sent me back to school
Keep playing some new game
Making up your own rules
Must be some kind of crazy
Let you fool me twice
I dont know why
I keep playing with loaded dice
Well, tonight I hit the jackpot
I was shining like a diamond ring
Lady luck was smiling
And the old snake charmer was doing his thing
You saw the tables turn
Man it sure felt nice
Now we see whos laughing
Now we see whos playing with the loaded dice
Girl you aint like nothing
Ive ever seen before
Keep throwing in aces
I keep coming back for more
Guess I should have listened
But you cant give a fool advice
Dont know why I keep playing with loaded dice.

Metal Magic

When they say dont look back
Do what they say
You gotta look ahead
To a better day
In a world of metal magic
You need a break
Go forth
Take a chance
Make no mistake
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
They say you cant go back
Oh so true
When youre a rocker baby
You gotta pay your dues
In a world of metal magic
Magic never ends
Sometimes you lose
And sometimes you win
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Lost in the metal magic
It never ends
Sometimes you lose
Sometimes you win
Metal magic
Metal magic
Metal magic
Yeah

Dice is not God’s game.

‘God does not play with dice.’
Whether you turn wise or a vice,
Whether you lure Him with praise
He will not play you with dice.
Who is just? Who is worth? -
He is not afflicted with.
Reward and punishment is not his job.
Your birth and death are alike.
So are your ups and downs, mind.
The game of dice, you devised,
Where he has no part to play.

She Is A Wonder Gift Of Nature

She is a wonder gift of nature
She is my idol girl
She has inner beauty
She has a clear heart
She is a wonder gift of nature
Her smile is like a Lilli in a bloom
Her glowing face is like a fresh flower
Her eyes have an attraction
She is a wonder gift of nature
I blush when I look at her
Her lips wording are like sweet cord
Her hug is only a relaxing moment in my life
Yeah she is really a wonder gift of nature

Cold Metal

Pop
Uh
I played tag in the auto graveyard
I looked up at the radio tower
Rag tent by the railroad tracks
Concrete poured over steel bridge
Pondered my fate
While they built the interstate
Im a product of america
From the morgue to the prisons
Cold metal, when I start my band
Cold metal, in my garbage can
Cold metal, gets in my blood
And my attitude
Yeah, a huh
Threw my hide in an automobile
Heard a song called drive the wheel
Truckers, trailers, tractors caught me workin
This is the song of my heritage
From the bad to the buddha
Cold metal, thats what it be
Cold metal, from sea to sea
Cold metal, its how we win
And also how we sin
How we sin, how we sin, how we sin, how we sin
Cold metal, in the afternoon
Sounds lovely like a hendrix tune
Cold metal, its the father of beat
The mother of the street
Cold metal, it rolls on by
Cold metal, gonna raise it high
Cold metal, itll even fly
Rust buckets in the sky
Cold metal, got to be
Skeleton of the free
Cold metal, its gotta be
Better save a tree
Save a tree, save a tree, save a tree, save a tree
Yeah

I am not going to claim that modern anarchism has any direct relation to Roman jurisprudence; but I do claim that it has its basis in the laws of nature rather than in the state of nature.

This Christmas Time

Presents underneath the tree
Candles burning bright
Stockings hung with lots of care
On this silent Christmas night
What makes this season magical
Is what made my dream come true
Just seeing you
To be here with you

Oh this Christmas time
Is the best one ever
The greatest gift in life
Is you and me together
And I thank heaven for sending you here tonight
This Christmas time

Some people hope for rings of gold
All that money buys
Children have their list of toys
Prayin' Santa gets it right
The one thing I wish for
Came true when you walked in
To hear you laugh again
To see you smile again

Oh this Christmas time
Is the best one ever
The greatest gift in life
Is you and me together
And I thank heaven for sending you here tonight
Oh this Christmas time

Oh this Christmas time
Is the best one ever
The greatest gift in life
Is you and me together
And I thank heaven for sending you here tonight
Sending you here tonight
This Christmas time

If giving points to some students to achieve greater diversity is a quota system in violation of the Constitution, how can the awarding of points to the children of a less diverse alumni be upheld?

My Choice, Will Heaven Complain?

If heaven will complain
I don't know,
Endowed so much i am.

My many talents and outfits
Passions me in confusion
Stirring me to see as destiny.
But talent i know is not destiny
Talent, gift of nature nurtured by environ
Destiny, gift of nature nurtured by divinity.
Hands can thwart talent, but
The tick tack of clock even stop
Can't thwart destiny
No matter the weather.
It is inborn, you, yourself, yoursoul.

I don't care if family complain
For my choice,
But i don't know
If heaven will complain.

Chatting Today

I worked for the union and on my very first communion, you know,
It never ever, ever, ever worked out right
So I spent the night sleepin on the railway
I worked for the foundry and man my mind it nearly drowned
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
It never, it could never work out right
So I said so long, amigo. good night and slept on the railway
The railway, theres no better way, ooh the railway
And its nice to talk to you today
I worked for the miller, a very, very nice type of fell-a {fellow}
But I could see that it was never gonna work out right
So I split and spent the night sleeping on the railway
I worked in the subway arc, oh yeah, yeah
You know it never, no no never, no never no, ever no, worked out right
So I said so long and spent the night on the railway
The railway, give me a bottle of whiskey, ooh the railway
Ooh, theres nothin like the railway
And Id like to thank someone for mascara and good things that I done
And for the time ya spent and the friendship begun
And most of all starry nights on the railway
Ooh, I dont know no better way
Than just, ooh, lyin back an drifting away
I can hear it, I can hear it

The Greatest Gift Of All (feat. Dolly Parton)

(John B. Jarvis)
Dawn is slowly breaking
Our friends have all gone home
You and I are waiting
For Santa Claus to come.
There's a present by the tree
Stockings on the wall
Knowing you're in love with me
Is the greatest gift of all.
The fire is slowly fading
Chill is in the air
All the gifts are waiting
For children everywhere.
Through the window I can see
Snow begin to fall
Knowing you're in love with me
Is the greatest gift of all.
Just before I go to sleep
I hear a church bell ring
Merry Christmas everyone
Is the song it sings.
So I pray a silent prayer
For creatures great and small
Peace on earth, good will to men
Is the greatest gift of all.
Peace on earth, good will to men
Is the greatest gift of all...

Shine On

The greatest gift, the gift of life
The gift of love divine
God gave us all a special gift
He meant for it to shine
He meant for it to shine
The darkest night can be made light
By one bright word or smile
If wed put on our neighbors shoes
And choose to walk a mile
God gave us all our own free will
To choose the paths we take
No greater deed could eer be done
Than for anothers sake
The greatest gift, the gift of life
The gift of love divine
God gave us all a special gift
He meant for it to shine
He meant for it to shine
Shine on, shine on, for all to see
Gods light inside your soul
Shine on, shine on, let love flow free
Warm others in its glow
Shine on, shine on, shine on
So hide it not or it will fade
Shine on, shine on, shine on
Shine on, shine on, shine on
The greatest gift, the gift of life
The gift of love divine
God gave us all a special gift
He meant for it to shine
Shine on, shine on, shine on

Settle Down

Album: Eternal (2001)
[Chorus]
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down with me, babe
Settle down
Would you like a house on the hill
Overlooking the ocean side
Tell me, would you like that baby
Or how about a high-rise apartment
In Manhattan on the east side
If that's what you need
I'm here to please
Won't you settle down with me, baby
[Chorus]
We could take a jet plane all the way to Spain
Just to buy you a wedding ring
Tell me, would you like that baby
Oh, talk to me girl
We could get married on Christmas day
On the shores of Montego Bay
If that's what you need
I'm here to please
Won't you settle down with me
If you're ready
Only if you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
Tell me if you're ready, ready yeah
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down, settle down
Settle down
I'm not trying to buy your love
Money ain't in it
You can't put a rpice on love
Tell me if I'm worthy of
Worthy of you're hand
Girl let's start making plans
You're shining like a star above
You're the light of my life
Oh girl, be my wife
Settle down baby
Oh but first
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down babe
I wanna know if you're ready, tell me baby
To settle down with me babe
Do you think you're ready
To settle down, settle down with me babe
Settle down babe
Settle down
Ooh
oh, whoa
Oooh
No no no no no no no
Yeah yes
Oh settle down babe
Settle down
You tell me when you're ready
(I'm ready, I'm ready)
Do you think you're ready
(I, yes I am baby)
Please tell me
(You already know)
When you're ready
(Yes I'm ready)
Then We can settle down
(Settle down babe)
Settle down
(I'm ready)
I wanna know if you're ready
Oh wee, oh it feels like you're ready babe
I can tell if you're ready
We need to settle down babe
Settle down

Life's A Gift

Life’s a gift for you to send
Life’s a gift for god to end
Life’s a gift now you’re with me
Life’s a gift for all to see
Life’s a gift when love is true
Life’s a gift when times look blue
Life’s a gift with the one you trust
Life’s a gift even if UN just
Life’s a gift a ray of sun
Life’s a gift though your heads held to a gun
Life’s a gift when its handed on a tray
Life’s a gift even though it’s always on display
Life’s a gift it’s hard to understand how
Life’s a gift so take advantage of it now
