To Arms!
World! to arms!
Do you shrink?
What! shrink when the hoofs of the Cossack are crushing
The bosom of mother, the tonsure of priest,
And the youth of a nation, pain-maddened, is rushing
On visible doom, as to tourney or feast?
When the savagest hell-hounds that ever existed
Are hunting the tender and brave of our race,
And the lash of the insolent Tartar is twisted
With mock of defiance, and cracked in your face-
Do you shrink?
World! to arms!
Do you shrink, gallant France, when the blood of a nation,
Ne'er stinted for you, for itself flows in vain?
Aroused by the might of a grand inspiration,
Avenge with your war-clang the souls of the slain.
If you shrink, may you never know ending or respite
To strife internecine and factional hate,
Except when the hand of liberticide despot
Imposes on all one opprobrious fate!
France! to arms!
Do you shrink?
You! politic Austria! now that you only,
If feebly you hesitate, hasten your doom-
Have you yet not discovered that, selfish and lonely,
An Empire but marches blindfold to the tomb?
Let a penitent sword in sublime vindication
Of Freedom its manifold mischiefs undo:
If you shrink, may the multiplied wrongs of each nation
You ever have outraged be hurled back on you!
Do you shrink?
World! to arms!
O my beautiful Italy! nought of misgiving
Doth trouble the summons that touches your pride;
The graves of your slaughtered are fresh, but your living
Are throbbing to conquer, or sleep at their side.
By your maidens equipped, in whose beauty exult you,
Your sons must make ready with pennon and sheen
To go straight. If you shrink-but I will not insult you,
Who, often unfortunate, never were mean.
Then, to arms!
World! to arms!
Do you shrink?
Shrink! England! what! shrink when intoxicate Tartar,
Deriding your wrath, rides in blood to the waist?
When the flesh of the virgin, the bones of the martyr,
The breast of the matron, are bared and defaced?
Do you deem diplomatic frivolities ample
To save you your title of moral and just,
When a horde of ensanguined barbarians trample
Mankind and remonstrance alike in the dust?
England shrink?
No! to arms!
All! to arms!
Will you wait till behind the impassable rampart
Of winter they laugh at your impotent rage,
And your war-nostrils frozen, your ironclads hampered,
Destruction-then ``Order''-shall swoop on the stage?
Yes! the spring will come back, and unbar you the ocean,
But will not the sinews relax of the slain:
Swift! to arms! Set the vengeance-charged tumbrils in motion,
As dread as God's thunder, as blest as His rain!

My Vivid Future
As I walk down the road and think
I think about my adulthood in a good way
My future is going to be a blast, no it won't shrink
I am afraid I will lose my visualization if I blink
Or another thought and become dismay
As I walk down the road and think
As I draw this vivid picture with gray ink
I wait with great anticipation for that day
My future is going to be a blast, no it won't shrink
Oooops, my thought almost had shrink
I quietly ask my thought to lay
As I walk down the road and think
Just then my eyes tried to blink
Because they are waiting for my head to lay
My future is going to be a blast, no it won't shrink
Please don't go away for I still want to think
About the wonderful way
As I walk down the road and think
Of my future that will not shrink

Destiny
SOLDIER, why do you shrink from the hiss of the hungry lead?
The bullet that whizzed is past; the approaching ball is dumb.
Stand straight! you cannot shrink from Fate: let it come!
A comrade in front may hear it whiz—when you are dead.

Pink, Our Shrink, and Love, I Think
The only things I can think
(Besides think)
That rhyme with pink
Are stink
And wink
And blink
And sometimes I think I need this shrink
Because I hate pink
As the things it rhymes with stink
Like facial functions and thoughts I think
Then write down here in maroon ink
And as said by our shrink
The problem with pink
Is that it can't express the love that I think
And wink
To you as I blink
And now dare to write in maroon ink
As between you and me, it's a link
We both hate the color, I think
Because this poem makes us tickled pink
As we wait in the office of our shrink
Who we hate as much as the color pink

Tiddly wink
who gives a Tiddlywink, what I think?
If I needed a shrink to read me
Read me? means
Love me means?
Who gives an A-TO Z
Who needs a map to find a clue?
Like a face needs a smokescreen
Like a truth needs disgrace
Neglect needs significant attention
Who needs a shrink
To think what they think?
Hold freud on a bookshell out of view
Who needs religion
Like a cross
And a dusty headed pew?
Who cares must first undress their own indifference
And what is private must be spent in publics view
Who believes in peace
Must first believe in contempt
And who believes in nothing but a holding back,
Must first believe in argument
And if in speaking truth
I concede to all that 's false
Then such marriages are followed by divorce
For who gives a tiddlywink what I write or what I think?
If I wanted to be read, .............I'd see a 'shrink! '

Down
THERE is always hope
when things go down when you sink and shrink
like a coin flip flopping to the depths
of the storm
as one little boy watches yourself
with pity
and perhaps awe
because there is hope
for those that go down the only
tendency
is always to go up
for those that sink
the only hope is to rise
for those that shrink
they grow again on the interstices
of little spaces beneath
and within
and for those that flip flop
the only thing that you see
is the beauty of that
dance.

Fried Ego And Chips
They f you up old freud an jung
They like to get their chips 'well done'
The chip on the shoulder the thorn in the side
Their victims serve to boost their pride
Now any old quack can sit in their chair
charge a pound a minute while he talks to the air
Then assume a soloution a potion a plan
To transform some poor sop int
'A better man'
While belittling constraining controlling contriving,
The poor little nobody's attempt at 'surviving'
The world is in chaos it's always BAD NEWS
Even neurotics have a right to be blue
But still they arrive once a week to that place
Where they pay for their pain as if it's a disgrace
To care in a world that is spent of all care
But for a pound a minute you can talk 'To the air'
Emerging as a 'Better man'
All service rendered job well done!
Your shrink now has a PENSION FUND
And still sometimes you'll get the blues,
But take a breath it's not ALL BAD NEWS
From monaco to san tropez from white water rafting to sunny L.A
The postcards will come thick and fast signed;
DR SHRINK 'Retired at last! '
P.s I guess it's largely down to you, for paying my bills when you were blue!

To The Men Of England
Men of England, wherefore plough
For the lords who lay ye low?
Wherefore weave with toil and care
The rich robes your tyrants wear?
Wherefore feed and clothe and save,
From the cradle to the grave,
Those ungrateful drones who would
Drain your sweat -- nay, drink your blood?
Wherefore, Bees of England, forge
Many a weapon, chain, and scourge,
That these stingless drones may spoil
The forced produce of your toil?
Have ye leisure, comfort, calm,
Shelter, food, love's gentle balm?
Or what is it ye buy so dear
With your pain and with your fear?
The seed ye sow another reaps;
The wealth ye find another keeps;
The robes ye weave another wears;
The arms ye forge another bears.
Sow seed, -- but let no tyrant reap;
Find wealth, -- let no imposter heap;
Weave robes, -- let not the idle wear;
Forge arms, in your defence to bear.
Shrink to your cellars, holes, and cells;
In halls ye deck another dwells.
Why shake the chains ye wrought? Ye see
The steel ye tempered glance on ye.
With plough and spade and hoe and loom,
Trace your grave, and build your tomb,
And weave your winding-sheet, till fair
England be your sepulchre!

Choices
physically
the changes are inevitable
at the reunion
last December
we were all pigs and
elephants
our best enemies are the
mirrors
we eliminated the word
fat
some cannot speak about
how sickly we are
we hate to face this
plunder of our flesh
how much we have neglected the
basics of our lives
we justify
perhaps we have focused more on the
internal mess, sorting out philosophies
looking for the best reasons
for us to be alive
we drink a lot of beer
and taken too much meat and pasta
we are addicted to books
our feet shrink
our arms are shorter
and our fingers
are melting
like butter
to cut the story short
i for one,
promised: i don't need reunions anymore
i go on with my life
into the abyss of convoluted thoughts
into the ocean of
more deliberations
away from the run
away from the fun.

Back In Your Arms Again
(from the video blood brothers)
You said once I was your treasure, and I saw your face in every store
The promises we make at night, oh thats all they are
Unless we fill them with faith and love theyre emty as a howlin wind.
Now darlin I just wanna be
Back in your arms, back in your arms again..
Back in your arms, back in your arms again.
Back in your arms, back in your arms again.
You came to me with love and kindness, but all my life Ive been a prisoner
Of my own blindness
I met you with indifference, and I dont know why.
Now I wake from my dream, I wake from my dream to this world.
Where all the shadow and darkness and a dark sky unfurls.
And all the love Ive thrown away and lost, honey Im longing for again.
Now theres nothing that I wouldnt do if I could be
Back in your arms, back in your arms again.
Back in your arms, back in your arms again.
Back in your arms, back in your arms again.
Back in your arms
(alternative firstverse)
In my dream my love was lost, I lived by luck and faith.
I carried you inside of me, and praied it wouldnt be to late.
Now Im standin on this empty road, where nothin moves but the wind...

The Battle of Life
Up! and arm for life's struggle,
We shall conquer in the fight,
If we arm us for the battle
With the weapons Truth and Right;
Though the world's arrayed against us,
We will shrink not from the strife,
For invincible is duty
On the battlefield of life.
In the vanguard of the battle
Foremost comes our foeman Sin,
Like a giant in his prowess,
With an aspect stern and grim.
But, though mighty in his power
We'll preserve a dauntless air,
And we'll fight this dreaded foeman
'Neath the sturdy shield of prayer.
Next is Poverty approaching,
Weapons sure and sharp she wears,
And she's backed by thronging thousands -
By a countless host of cares.
Still, this terrible invader
We'll repel with robust health,
And with energy and labour
Soon we'll win the ally Wealth.
Every step is fraught with struggle,
Cares full armed our path oppose;
Hopes are falling fast around us;
Wounded are we, too, by woes.
Yet our courage must not falter,
We must fight Care hand to hand;
Other hopes will soon support us
If we firmly take our stand.
In the sorried ranks of batte,
With the flag of Right unfurled,
Let our well-tried virtues make us
Victors ever in the world.
Noble to the things we fight for!
Glorious be the deeds we do!
Foeman to the false and evil,
Champions of the good and true!
Fight we as God's soldiers bravely,
Let us conquor by his might;
His Almighty arms shall aid us
Ever in the cause of right,
Fight on to life's last moments,
Faith at last shall conquer death:
Dying - still we'll shout in triumph,
'Victory' with our last drawn breath.
Onward, then, to dare the struggle,
Though we fall upon the field;
Better be struck down in battle,
Than like cowards tamely yield.
Shrink not from the stern encounter,
Duty ever strength supplies;
And from every fall we meet with,
Anteus-like, we'll stronger rise.

Open Arms
If love is what you want
Baby here I am
If tenderness is what you need
Ive got that to give
If you need some affection
Baby these are open arms
Open arms open arms open arms open arms
You come hem youve had a hard day
Every door you tried to open
Was closing in your face
Im right here Ill be right here
Ill embrace you
Ill be open with my heart
Ill let you in
Ill be open with my thoughts
Ill be your best friend
If you need some attention
Baby these are open arms
Open arms open arms open arms open arms
Every corner you turn
Trouble come your way
But when you get home
Ill try to be there
And Ill embrace you
These are
These are
These are
Open arms
If time is what you need
Baby Ill stop the clocks
If youre looking for something
Maybe Ive got what you want
If theres one thing to remember
Dont forget that these are open arms
Open arms open arms open arms open arms
These are
These are
These are
Open arms

Midnight Chime
The yawning of a door
near the midnight chime
heralds the entrance of something
within our frightened mind.
We listen with intent
as chains are dragged
across an empty floor.
We shout out,
“Who goes there? ”
Only to receive silence
as a midnight reply.
We lay in our beds
covers raised above our heads
wondering what monsters
have entered our castle wall.
A low and distant moan
echoes in our ears.
We shrink in silence of our fears.
“Who goes there? ”
We shout again in a voice lost
to the noise of a door slam.
Our faces drain of colour
becoming chalk white
at the thought of monsters
that are just out of our sight.
Through the night,
the noises continue
as we shrink in silence
waiting for morning to call.
We lay there frozen,
petrified by fear
not knowing what to make of
all the sounds we hear.
As the first streaks
of morning beginning to call
and exhausted by our experience
into sleep we fall.
