Give me a roof where Wisdom dwells

Give me a roof where Wisdom dwells,
Where honeysuckle smiles and smells,
A bleating flock, some lowing kine,
An honest welcome always mine,
A homely draught, a humble meal,

Leisure to live, to think, to feel,
A narrow plot, a prospect wide,
A patch upon the mountain side!
From these my heart you will not wean
For Fashion's tinsel, Splendour's sheen,
The Sceptre's favour, Senate's prize,
No, nor the Empire of your eyes.
Farewell! The Valley be your own!
And I will scale the heights,-alone.

Littell's Living Age

Sooth 'twere a pleasant life to lead,
With nothing in the world to do,
But just to blow a shepherd's reed
The silent seasons through,
And just to drive a flock to feed—
Sheep, quiet, fond, and few!

Pleasant to breathe beside a brook,
And count the bubbles - love-worlds - there;
To muse upon some minstrel's book,
Or watch the haunted air;
To slumber in some leafy nook-
Or, idle anywhere.

And then a draught of nature's wine,
A meal of summer's daintiest fruit;
To take the air with forms divine;
Clouds, silvery, cool, and mute;
Descending, if the night be fine,
In a star-parachute.

Give me to live with love alone,
And let the world go dine and dress;
For love hath lowly haunts - a stone
Holds something meant to bless.
If life's a flower, I choose my own -
'Tis "Love in Idleness!"

The Lambs On The Road

The lambs on the road were dismayed
Bleating all along they wandered
There lay the slain shepherd
The sun descended.
A flock lost!

The new sky was cast ever clouded
The men from the East never frowned
Their wisdom was long before eroded
And their return was irredeemably abandoned.
A nightmare unveiled!

The lambs still bleated along the road winding
They were to reach a peak triumphing.
The shepherd was thenceforth forgotten for ever!
And the bleating had given way for a shout of joy before.
An euphoria unyielding!

The bleating music has been on and on
The shepherd has somewhere been laid to rest.
The new shepherd first looks around and up on the peak.
But there is no road descending from atop
A truth spoken!

Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle, oh Honeysuckle
Watching as you grow
In the springtime and summer rain
Remembering children's games
Remembering still from a breeze
Blowing a secret scent
From my youth, still are seen
Memories, from where I have been.

Oh Honeysuckle, precious dream
Walking down our road
From a boy, unto a man
Laughing at growing old
Precious dream, and precious life
Strolling dream in mind
Standing there, in the air
Reminded me of a different time.

Honeysuckle, oh Honeysuckle
Blooming once again
In the air, and I’ll be there
Longing for your scent,
For the boy, who was lost
Not ready to survive
Then you He caught, and you he taught
How to live, and how to smile.

I Wanna Live

I've been thinking it over
And I know just what to do
I've been thinking it over
And I know I just can't trust myself

I'm a Gypsy prince
Covered with diamonds and jewels
But then my lover exposes me
I know I'm just a damn fool

I give what I've got to give
I give what I need to live
I give what I've got to give
It's important if I want to live

I wanna live
I want to live my life
I wanna live
I want to live my life

As I load my pistol
Fine German steel
I never thought I'd be so down and out
Having my last meal
But I know I can do it
It just took a few years
As I execute my killer
The morning is near

I give what I've got to give
I give what I need to live
I give what I've got to give
It's important if I want to live

I wanna live
I want to live my life
I wanna live
I want to live my life

Fodder-Time

How sweet the manger smells! The cows all listen
With outstretched necks, and with impatient lowing;
They greet the clover, their content now showing--
And how they lick their noses till they glisten!

The velvet-coated beauties do not languish
Beneath the morning's golden light that's breaking,
The unexhausted spring of life awaking,
Their golden eyes of velvet full of anguish.

They patiently endure their pains. Bestowing
Their sympathy, the other cows are ruing
Their unproductive udders and renewing
At milking-time their labor and their lowing.

And now I must deceive the darling bossy--
With hand in milk must make it suck my finger.
Its tender lips cling close like joys that linger,
And feel so warm with dripping white and flossy.

This very hand my people with devotion
Do kiss, which paints and plays and writes moreover--
I would it had done naught but pile the clover
To feed the kine that know no base emotion.

In Our Lives

Written by John Mellencamp
Well I'm a middle-aged teenager
I'm a man of angst and leisure
Doin' the best that I can do
My problems are incorrect
I've always got it around my neck
Hey I'm just like you
Yeah I've done some good and I've done some bad
But the most fun that I ever had
Was singing my songs for you
And if I should go astray
I'd get down on my knees and pray
Say God forgive me for what I do
Oh in our lives
There's no right way for us to live it
You know in our lives
There's a time to cry and a time to forget it
Well I'm a broke down humble man
Baby that's just who I am
And that's from me to you
Well I feel good here
Got about a million more years
To do what it is I gotta do
And if some day you happen to be passin' my way
Say hi, hello, how are you
Well, I'll return the gesture in kind
And hope that things are fine
And you all just do what you gotta do
Oh in our lives
There's no right way for us to live it
Oh in our lives
There's a time to cry and a time to get with it
You know in our lives there's no right way for us to live it.
Well I'm a broke down humble man
That's just who I am
And that's from me to you
Yeah I'm a broke down humble man
Yeah that's just who I am
And that's from me to you
Oh in our lives
You know in our lives
Yeah in our lives there's no right way for us to live it

My Country Love

If you passed her in your city
You would call her badly dressed,
But the faded homespun covers
Such a heart in such a breast!
True, her rosy face is freckled
By the sun's abundant flame,
But she's mine with all her failings,
And I love her just the same.

If her hands are red they grapple
To my hands with splendid strength,
For she's mine, all mine's the beauty
Of her straight and lovely length!
True, her hose be think and homely
And her speech is homely, too;
But she's mine! her rarest charm is
She's for me, and not for you!

Sonnet: The Book of Life

I clasped the Book of Life onto my chest!
O God, I pray to never give it up;
And as I read I know it is the best,
As God empties my Life’s most bitter-cup.

O God, Let wisdom me emancipate;
Let foolish desires not fill my mind;
O protect me from crimes, men perpetrate;
My peace of mind in Thee alone, I find.

Let fortitude afill my mind and heart,
Through which alone comes wisdom that I seek;
Let follow prudence/ temperance/ thinking-art;
A mind and heart that remains humble/ meek.

The Bible gives me all my wisdom God,
To live a virtuous life, spared from Thy rod!

My Honeysuckle Baby

My honeysuckle, baby.
Baby, you’re my honeysuckle.
You’re my Honeysuckle Baby.
My Honeysuckle Baby, baby.
From the bush I pluck you,
Put your tart body to my lips,
And draw your sweetness in with my mouth.
My Honeysuckle Baby—that’s what you are.
The baby from whom I get delectable honey.
What fine sweetness through that nice honey.
Fine, fine sweetness, my Honeysuckle Baby.
The honey is you, baby.
The sweetness is yours, honey.
You’re my honey, but you share your sweetness.
And that’s why I keep going to the bush.
And sucking it in: your great sweetness…

Let's Live! Let's Love!

Let's live, let's love and even wonder!
Let's cry, let's laugh and trust!
Let's hope for the best and even blunder,
Forgive, believe and do be just!

Let's just admire fields, the sky and dew!
And if it's hard do not give up but fight!
Go ahead, tomorrow you'll all renew,
Without fright as truth is always right.

Let's be honest when communicating,
Honest in words, actions and deeds!
Let's firmly believe, without doubting,
To live a real life and not in dreams.

Let's be honest when you are mistaken,
Honest with jealousy, cheats and lies!
Let's live, let's love and dream when awake,
Spread wings when your soul flies!

Lamentable Success

the world had just close the sky, the hour comes to late
where the innocent of the heart cried for fear of fading to
to face the untouchable eye, who stare without seeing
of what the soul survive

the ghetto of spark silent the hatred of flame, where the
Abbey's of hell, is patiently waiting to explode the wonder
of joy, move to go, to a pointless direction of the spirited
heart of mess

limit comes in a very splendid art, sudden stop by a
marvelous envy of a wondering sting of changing value of
men gain, forward a humble soul to achieve what thy heart
clings, settle where you find wisdom and show your
understanding desire to live

lament your call, stay as the world resist, let the passion say
that everything comes in every unexpected way, as the angels
always proclaim that you have a special home in God's return,
the best is now what you give and the last He will receive

humble yourself and be honest, even other can't, while
other wouldn’t and some didn't...... just be true to yourself
for the Lord thy God feel so glad

This pride of mine

Is it my absurd pride,
Which countenanced you to take off and run?

Is it my rainbow pride,
Which made you flee to the searing sun?

I beg of you
Stop! Think twice
A little pride is better than nice.
That is a saying plausibly far from wise!

If your love could fall once more out of the sky
This pride of mine I throw out amply to the sea
I tell no lie and I speak no lies
This pride of mine, I’ll give to another for free

For years and years
I have chewed over on my pride
Crying out inside beclouded tears
Our love went down with a dingy backslide

But! But!
This pride of mine was too blind to see
Sometimes it draws out the beauty in me
Sometimes it sheds out the ugly in me
Like leaves falling off once a blossoming tree

This pride of mine
Needs to resign

This pride of mine
Isn’t sweeter than wine

But! But!
If your love could fall once more out of the sky
This pride of mine I throw out amply to the sea
I promise to be humble, humble and humble
For upon your type of love I may never stumble!

I Did It For You

A Life without taking chances
Is no kind of life at all
You've gotta stand up for something
Even if you might fall
Gotta take that road
Wherever it might go
No matter where
No matter what
I want you to know
I want you to know
I...
Tried to do my best
To do the best I could
I...
Had to give my all
It's what I had to do
And I'd...
Do it all again
And that's the honest truth
I...
I did it for you
Maybe I was crazy
I guess I was sometimes
And maybe it's hard to change things
But I had to know what's right
Everyday you've got to live
For what you believe
Please understand
I had no choice
It's what had to be
It's what had to be
I...
Tried to do my best
To do the best I could
I...
Had to give my all
It's what I had to do
And I'd...
Do it all again
And that's the honest truth
I...
I did it for you
Oh,
And I had no choice, no
It was something that I believed
A dream that was driving me
A fire inside of me
I...
Tried to do my best
To do the best I could
And I...
Had to give my all
It's what I had to do
I'd...
Do it all again
And that's the honest truth
I...
I did it for you
Oh
I...
I did it for you
I did it for you

A Flower To Auroville Mother-55

Honeysuckle(Japanese Honeysuckle,
Madhumati, Lonicera japonica)
(Dutch Honeysuckle, Madhumati,
Lonicera periclymenum 'Serotina')
(Translucent Honeysuckle
Lonicera quinquelocularis)
(Cape Honeysuckle, Tecomaria capensis)

Somewhere at the northern Bharath
Born you with honeyed fragrance
Sending in whiffs your redolence
Sensing in sniffs all me in mirth

Somewhere shrubby somewhere viny
Some are lancelike, some are oval
Branching leafing shining brainy
Changing white to yellow by fall..

Made in medicated make wholesome
Sprayed in heavenly nectar awesome
Suckled honey humming to embosom
Elsewhere in red-orange decor winsome

What could it be than the bestest
What else could be than the sweetest
So you are the sweetest heartiest
So you are the heartiest bestest

The Package

Clever got me this far
Then tricky got me in
Eye on what I'm after
I don't need another friend
Smile and drop the cliche
'Till you think I'm listening
I take just what I came for
Then I'm out the door again
Peripheral on the package
Don't care to settle in
Time to feed the monster
I don't need another friend
Comfort is a mystery
Crawling out of my own skin
Just give me what I came for, then I'm out the door again
Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get just what I need
Lie to get what I crave
Lie and smile to get what's mine
Eye on what I'm after
I don't need another friend
Nod and watch your lips move
If you need me to pretend
Because clever got me this far
Then tricky got me in
I'll take just what I came for
Then I'm out the door again
Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get what I need now
Lie to get what I'm craving
Lie and smile to get what's mine
Give this to me
Mine, mine, mine
Take what's mine
Mine, mine, mine
Take what's mine
Mine, mine, mine
Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get what I need now
Lie to get what I crave
Lie to smile and get what's mine
Give this to me
Take what's mine
Mine, mine, mine
Take what's mine
Give this to me
Take what's mine, take what's mine, mine...
Take what's mine, take what's mine, take what's mine,
This is mine, mine, mine, not mine

Ix

Can it be right to give what I can give ?
To let thee sit beneath the fall of tears
As salt as mine, and hear the sighing years
Re-sighing on my lips renunciative
Through those infrequent smiles which fail to live
For all thy adjurations ? O my fears,
That this can scarce be right ! We are not peers,
So to be lovers; and I own, and grieve,
That givers of such gifts as mine are, must
Be counted with the ungenerous. Out, alas !
I will not soil thy purple with my dust,
Nor breathe my poison on thy Venice-glass,
Nor give thee any love--which were unjust.
Beloved, I only love thee ! let it pass.

An Indian Love Song

He

Lift up the veils that darken the delicate moon
of thy glory and grace,
Withhold not, O love, from the night
of my longing the joy of thy luminous face,
Give me a spear of the scented keora
guarding thy pinioned curls,
Or a silken thread from the fringes
that trouble the dream of thy glimmering pearls;
Faint grows my soul with thy tresses' perfume
and the song of thy anklets' caprice,
Revive me, I pray, with the magical nectar
that dwells in the flower of thy kiss.

She

How shall I yield to the voice of thy pleading,
how shall I grant thy prayer,
Or give thee a rose-red silken tassel,
a scented leaf from my hair?
Or fling in the flame of thy heart's desire the veils that cover my face,
Profane the law of my father's creed for a foe
of my father's race?
Thy kinsmen have broken our sacred altars and slaughtered our sacred kine,
The feud of old faiths and the blood of old battles sever thy people and mine.

He

What are the sins of my race, Beloved,
what are my people to thee?
And what are thy shrines, and kine and kindred,
what are thy gods to me?
Love recks not of feuds and bitter follies,
of stranger, comrade or kin,
Alike in his ear sound the temple bells
and the cry of the muezzin.
For Love shall cancel the ancient wrong
and conquer the ancient rage,
Redeem with his tears the memoried sorrow
that sullied a bygone age.
