The Origin of Species

A dinosaur with feathers
Became a bird one day,
And with the warmer weather
The mammals came our way.

Some comet hit the planet
And dinosaurs were gone-
That's how it all happened
Millions of years ago.

Wild creatures roamed around
And ate the dino eggs,
Some close to the ground,
And some with longer legs.

The flora and the fauna
Exploded with a bang
With ferns and protozoa,
Then came the whole shebang.

A tiny eohippus
Became a horse one day,
A walking rhodocetus
Became the modern whale.

The rodents would abound,
And other critters too,
That's how it went down
Unbeknowest to you.

A bunch of monkeys happened
And early hominids,
Who hunted other critters
To get something to eat.

Some primates climbed the branches
And fed upon the fruit,
While others turned bipedal,
Looking like hairy brutes.

That's how it all happened
From looking at the skull
Of our ancient brother-
The great Neanderthal.

So we're nothing special-
We simply have evolved,
While life is still a mystery
That no one can solve.

So you can love your neighbor
Or drink a beer or two,
Remembering a gorilla
Has relatives like you.

Skrillex

In the wild park the family of Skrillex dinosaurs lives
And they are about 1o ft and they run wild in this park during the day
Also in this par are trees full of apples, pears, and plums
The park keepers give them meat because they need protein intheir daily diet
In the winter the Skrillex mother dinosaur gives birth to babies Dinosaurs
And the park keepers keep an eye for the dinosaurs that are giving Birth
During the winter but the male Skrillex dinosaur tries to protect their babies by not allowing anybody to come near their babies because They feel that people might hurt their babies also

The Water Ways

The Water Ways
By Lori Triggs
Copyrighted June 14,2007

Earth was here first…
The rivers, lakes, creeks and oceans was born…
So the water was plangent in the crevices on the earth…
Than the plants with trees was rebirth…

Now came the dinosaurs that lasted millions of years…
Than came the volcanoes that wipe them out…
The reptiles came and still here on a slow decline…
So the mammals with the fish been around for centuries,
But for how long can we say…
Animals with birds been around since dooms day….
You notice they slowly diminishing…

Humans was put on earth last…
They consume in excess in
Water, plants, trees,
Reptiles, mammals, fish,
Animals & birds for money, food even to make a profit call greed…

Human have did toxics
The water with the lands around the earth…
So have they did with reptiles, mammals, fish, animals and birds…
You notice they slowly diminishing…

Humans they are in abounded…
They never die out only cause more harm than good…
They where put on earth by mistake…
So they should be the first to go…

Only one dropp of water…
The ground dried up so no water
Is their a plant or tree to spear to see…
Not a reptile to be seen…
The mammals with fish vanished…
So now the animals and birds are gone…

All is now is dying humans…
Died for excess wasting the earth away.

There Have Been Millions And Millions Of Years

THERE HAVE BEEN MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF YEARS

There have been millions and millions of years
And there will be millions and millions more
And I have had only less than seventy-
There is so much to see and be and know
I could understand far more than I do now
I have so much beauty and hope and love in me
Why do I have to die?
It does not seem fair or wise
So much waste and loss in my dying
Worlds in me that will never be known.

When a Migratory bird soars up

If you agree my friend, then I could have hide my sad poem
Underneath your precious wings as I cannot fly with these iron feathers.
When you migrate to a better place perhaps someone picks it and reads aloud;
'When I was in the cradle my poor Mom asked; ' Do you want to be a man or a bird? '
I said; ' Mom! I want to be a man and fly as a bird in the sky.'
Then she said; ' You'll be a poet some day my dear son and crawl on this misery planet like a reptile.'

Never let the 'Hope' die...!

Hopes are feathers, a wish is a bird
One may find this simile a little absurd

Hold on, do not lose patience
As I will explain to you the essence

Behind this there is a theory
I shall relate this with a story

Feathers, they keep the bird warm
Likewise hopes keep our wishes strong

Clip the feathers and the bird will not fly
Were it not for hope our wishes would die

My fellow beings, listen to what i have to say
Keep on hoping, what you wish for will come your way

Let your wishes, as birds, freely fly
As long as your hope, you never let die.

Feathers!

feathers on me
again and again
first to fly and now to earth rest
enable me to get ready
and carried me through you
anywhere there are feathers
like you said!
in me in you!

a very strange and intoxicating feeling
afterwards, that you traced my body
maybe i have gasp, of some lack of air!
in high feather, full feathers
you will be writhing with ecstacy
Very pleasurable for me
I feel extremely good
you make me a path a invisible way

eagle feathers very powerful
sound bird feathers very delicate
for tight places or open places
make his sound so soft
Ah! My God! ! !
give me the name of that medicine!
Feathers on me!
Feathers on you!

Walking In Your Footsteps

Fifty million years ago
You walked upon the planet so,
Lord of all that you could see
Just a little bit like me
Walking in your footsteps
Hey mr. dinosaur
You really couldnt ask for more
You were gods favourite creature
But you didnt have a future
Walking in your footsteps
Hey mighty brontosaurus
Dont you have a lesson for us
You thought your rule would always last
There were no lessons in your past
You were built three stories high
They say you would not hurt a fly
If we explode the atom bomb
Would they say that we were dumb?
Walking in your footsteps
Fifty million years ago
They walked upon the planet so
They live in a museum
Its the only place youll see um.
Walking in your footsteps....
They say the meek shall inherit the earth....
Walking in your footsteps....

Sestina: Terminataur

Enveloped by the glow of bedside light,
a small child listens spellbound to a plot.
A parent tells a story quite absurd
of cyborgs, birds and dinosaurs, most mean.
A science fiction tale of keen-edged claw
and culminating fast with time machine.

‘A fearsome shrewd reptilian machine
was lurking ‘mid striated cycad light.
His iridescent scaly skin and claw
advising ‘gainst the trespass of his plot.
A grey bird hovered close; what could it mean?
and conversation flowed; now that's absurd'!

‘Tyrannosaurus said, 'You're quite absurd',
'a cyborg bird with so-called time machine',
'and plans which sound both devilish and mean',
'involving death by catastrophic light'.
'You wish to beg my pardon for the plot',
'and ask respectfully to shake my claw'? ! ? ! ? ! '

‘The cyborg bird said, 'Cousin, take my claw',
'I'm your descendent, though it sounds absurd'.
'Our fourth millennium A.D. course is plot',
'whereby we triumph over man machine'.
'I'm here to guide the bird-made meteor light',
'so we can wing ascent; see what I mean'? '

‘Just then a ratty mammal, snide and mean,
who hid within the cycad's curving claw,
quick swiped the heedless bird in dusky light
and thereby foiled cretaceous scheme absurd.
The meteor missed and dinosaur machine
retained its topmost spot, in spite of plot'.

The father closes zany fiction plot
and though his sharp-toothed grin looks wily mean,
he is a loving dinosaur machine.
The sleepy dino-child lets go his claw
and slips into a dreaming world absurd.
He kisses scaly snout and dims the light.

The moral here is both absurd and light.
I mean by this: Beware the bird machine
which may still plot to claim the upper claw.

Sonnet: Whither Modesty?

God gave some beasts, a coat of wool and fur;
To fish He gave it scales; to birds feathers;
So that in winter, they could be warmer,
And give to man, his much needed leathers!

And not one beast had need to wear a dress!
Also Adam and Eve, until exiled!
When shame of nudity filled them excess,
They hid ’hind leaves as serpent Satan smiled!

But this had happened many years ago;
Yet, look how modern men, women are dressed!
So transparently, scantily and Lo,
Let wrath of God be upon them accursed.

For acting’s sake, stark-nakedly they love!
Both men, women as God looks from above.

Dinosaur lOVE

the dinosaur's eyes
big as my ears
we look into each other
and wonder how our love
for each other can be
is it the same size?
one so big and one so small
teary eyed, is he like me -
bogged down by love too?
how heavy can love grow to be?
does it haunch the back? take up
gramme, pound and ounce
break the weighing machine?
the dinosaur squeals and the
depth of its love reverberates
through the lakes, valleys, hills and the clouds
grammes, pounds or ounces
they are for the daily groceries
love is for grander things
like baby dinosaurs running
back to its folds, a baby monkey
reclining on mother's bossom
it can only be measured in depth
calibrated with your care and
concern for everything that i do
and balanced by the weight
of a pair of starcrossed hearts

Hills of the Planet

May hills form from illness of the planet,
Erosion of landforms make them of the planet.

Exposure to the elements will kill your substance,
May hills find fault with you and condemn the planet.

May winter know the rock of the Earth,
Whilst roundness of the hill is like a diadem of the planet.

Expose the hills to torture of the weather
By constructing mountains with a gem called the planet.

My hill is grand and openly small as well,
I live it and my house and my family and my poem that is the planet.

Mocking Bird

Dark as dungeon, rough as the sea
don't provoke my tolerance, you hardly know me...
Broken are my feathers... a bird that cannot fly
just your words are enough to make me cry.
Nestled in your own world, the feathers keep you warm
my life is a struggle.... I'm still fighting the storm
your given hand of friendship and floating views i see
Are enough to kill a mocking bird and set her free

Divine Bird

i would skp the best musical concert
to listen one more time to this morning bird
it makes me regret for not having been
a bird watcher and getting to know the name
of every bird and how every bird makes sure
they shine their best in voice rather than feathers
for feathers are just for a show of form but the
voice how well they have cultivated themselves
with the bountiful freedoms strewn below their wings

it was only two mornings ago, i first heard him
sing in among the many trees lining the boulevard
outside my condominium, the Crescent Court
the enchanting haunting notes of his song shocked
me into wondering whether it was really a bird that
sang those pristine notes, notes that seemed to have
streamed out of the sacred sanctum of God, so many
diverse notes, so well handled, they sounded
like a song written by the Divine for one special bird
one most holy entree to the dawn of a new day

i prayed to the Divine to allow me hear that bird
again, a bird that has sung his way into my my poem,
a bird probably from another realm where birds could
understand the workings of the heavens better than men

The Freed of Getting Frisked at Your Risk Foundation

We are pleased you have chosen to run again,
For public office.
However...
There are a 'few' who donated to your campaign efforts,
That last time...
Several years ago,
Now want to know...
What has happened to the millions unaccountable,
For that past attempt.
Can you explain how that funding was spent?

'Of course I can.
I am more than delighted.
I've been wanting to clear the air of that issue for years.

You see,
My wife and I are founders...
Of 'The Freed of Getting Frisked At Your Risk Foundation'.
And what we have done with those millions entrusted to us,
Is to ensure every stray animal...
Dog, cat, bird or beaver,
Regardless of its pedigree...
Is given an opportunity to have free legal consultation.

AND...
A kennel worthy of being lined,
With updated newspapers printing the latest...
Of entertaining gossip detailing the lives,
Of their most beloved film stars.'

I see.
So you're saying,
An investigation into how that money has been used...
Is completely pointless?

'Not only pointless.
But a waste of taxpayer's hard earned wages.'

Sounds good to me.
Bill...
Do you have any more probing questions?

~None whatsoever.
That response should put to bed the issue.
And any other accusation of theft.~

Wallace Stevens

Of Mere Being

The palm at the end of the mind,
Beyond the last thought, rises
In the bronze decor,

A gold-feathered bird
Sings in the palm, without human meaning,
Without human feeling, a foreign song.

You know then that it is not the reason
That makes us happy or unhappy.
The bird sings. Its feathers shine.

The palm stands on the edge of space.
The wind moves slowly in the branches.
The bird's fire-fangled feathers dangle down.

I'm A Very Old Tree

Some of us can live for millions of years,
We've watched as the world's rolled by,
Witnessed all of its hopes and fears,
Now we weep as we watch our Earth die.

Living this way can be so hard to bear,
As none of us can intervene,
Which is really tough when you're fully aware,
Things are worse now than we've ever seen.

We watched the Dinosaurs come and go,
Mammoths and Sabre Tooth's too,
We're warning you now to let you all know,
The same fate is what awaits you,

Contrary to what you Humans think,
Your intelligence is really quite small,
As you take our planet to the very brink,
You are heading for an almighty fall.

You forget this planet belongs to all life,
Yet Mankind is hell bent on destruction,
Because of your acts we all suffer strife,
That's a pure and simple deduction.

Nuclear power cannot be controlled,
It is insane to even think that you can,
A major disaster now waits to unfold,
Devastation created by man.

The scenes we have witnessed are really sad
More so since you lot arrived,
Trying to control atoms is just utterly mad,
Destruction is what you have contrived.

Plundering Earths resources is really insane,
Soon you'll have ripped out her heart.
You are treating our planet with total disdain,
Very soon it will all come apart.

Killing each other you seem to enjoy,
Life to you really comes cheap,
Your aim in life is just to destroy,
For this your extinction you'll reap.

There is no precedent to the human race,
You destroy more than the rest of us combined,
You make no provision for the future you face,
You are truly one of a kind,

We've witnessed destruction on a massive scale
As for yours there is no equal,
Unless your madness you now curtail,
Believe me there will not be a sequel.

You may well think I'm self righteous and cruel,
But unless you take action now,
Our planet will become a stagnant pool,
You will get your comeuppance and how.

Your future is what you need to review,
How would you know, I hear you all ask,
Well I've been around much longer than you,
I've accrued the knowledge to take you to task.

Ignore the warnings and you'll pay the price,
Destroying our planet doesn't come free,
Mother nature is one powerful device,
How would I know?
