Colorless Green Ideas

It might be if I were or will be there,
I would somehow dance inside your hair,
But then again, I'd say that I am here-
The elemental joy of being near-

Around and inside yourself, myself-
Like books, that sleep or slept upon the shelf,
Miasmically and tragically appear-
Sweet sonorous, you beam and laugh, unfolding,
We are indeed inseparable, holding,
Caressing our memories, my dear-

There is, there are sweet nothings in this world
That block the lucid verses from the ear,
But if you try to listen, you might hear
The gentle waves like syllables of the heart-

As our thoughts encroach and depart
Within the sea of hopes, dreams and fears;
And what is I to say and you to say? -
In the bright light of the ascending sun,
Where our minds like wild horses run
Amidst all that is false and insincere-
Like Chomsky's colorlessly green ideas.

Escape

As I lose myself inside of a world of my own-
Perhaps a shadow would pass me by,
Or maybe a fawn would wade in the creek
Along side of the path I walk-
I fear other people, this world’s intruders.
I would break away from reality if only
There was a point of no return and escape towards
A place where I can look down
Upon this path I have walked before-
Far away from all of the people who slight, follow and wish me harm-
Evergreens and maple trees-
Wild rabbits, squirrels and wild geese roam about-
These are the ones I call my true friends-
I would dance in the sky if I could-
Lost inside of a world behind the clouds, as
The sun behind me is casting shadows
Upon the path that I am now walking
Shadows that shall transform to dreams-
Dreams of an eternal life inside this world of my own-
Listen- can you hear the calling of the wild?
Listen- can you hear the gentle breeze rustling the leaves within
The litheness of nature surrounding me?
Listen- can you hear the sound of my heart beating amorously as
My own shadow disappears behind myriads of towering oak trees?
Rain could begin to fall and
A storm could approach and now I can say in all honesty it would not matter-
My mind has finally locked the door to reality and I have tossed the key
To the rapids rushing up the creek beside me-I have finally escaped.
If thousands of people were to approach and cross the path upon which I make my way-
I have lost touch with all that is real and in flight of the imagination
There is no turning back- even if it is only with in a dream;
Nobody needs war, cacophony and disaster,
If one can be in union with nature and fantasy that can be found in
One’s own back yard and a gust of wind can carry away that key to the door of
Pain and misfortune. Follow the shadows cast by the sun, and
Never look back, as this world inside of your dreams could last for an eternity…

Departure

I wish that I could bring you back
and hold you in my arms.
I'd whisper sweet nothings and sweet everythings
and cherish all your charms.

But all my wishing can't come true.
Still I wish it every day.
Where you've gone haunts my dreams.
Why did you go away?

Was there something I did wrong?
Can't I make it right?
I haven't slept a wink at all
since that awful night.

You stole away and took my heart
and never told me why.
Maybe you couldn't stand to hear
the way you made me cry.

But what's a gal like me to do
when things start goin' bad,
hold back tears and stay dry-eyed
and act like I'm not sad?

You'll never know what sadness is.
It's a hurt that won't depart.
So when I wish that I could bring you back,
it's a wish that breaks my heart.

Sunshine Eyes

Sunshine Eyes
Inside her mind so rapid and kind. A grace and innocence long ago feared to be lost. In her embrace you still can find.
Revealed again and running wild. Inside of her it lives and breathes. Inside of her it thrives.
Sunshine eyes that rise with her smile, irradiate her laughing face.
Oh tiny one with eyes as brilliant as the sun. She overflows your emptiness. Carrying with her all of your hopes and promise for the days to come.
And when this world sears with endless hatred and crushing fears. Just listen for her whispers soft, those simple wisdoms in your ears. That tiny voice will steal your heart, she’s everything that you hold dear, your troubles fade and fall away, carry no weight when she is near. And with a smile she dries away the rising flooding of your tears.
Sunshine eyes that rise and shine, encourage me to keep the faith.
This musical child electric and wild while all around her love resides.
Excitement running she comes to you with endless energy in her tiny strides
And all at once a flash of light as every form of joy collides
I love you too. This blessed child so soft and sweet she does confide.
Sunshine eyes that burn so bright illuminate this darkened place. If not for you then for the souls that find their strength somewhere within your sunshine gaze.
Sunshine eyes of hope and light may your eyes shine on endless days. And like your eyes may your heart and soul with happiness forever blaze. And light the way for all of those that share your joy and witness all your sunshine ways.

About Your Day

go to the sea
listen to the waves
focus on the white foams
follow the sea gulls
ride a boat
see the colors of the fish
feed them with your hands
and feel
agility, and know
how the corals
breathe

inside the office
you are surrounded by venetian blinds
your light is the bulb
your sound is the beeping phones
you are beside a heap of papers
pile of books

your partner is the personal computer
you chat at noon
and wish for sleep too soon
