One And Only Shot
My thoughts are imposing.
Try to prove myself without the proper training.
I can do this
Even with so many frustrations looming.
I will never give up.
I feel like David trying to knock down the giant.
A frugal cause is not one that can't be accomplished.
But one that is started and never finished.
I do not forfeit.
This means too much me.
I put to much work into it to now be looking back.
Facing a stampede how do I not retreat?
Do I create my own.
Let come toe to toe with you.
Will do our battle with swords clambering.
Sparks flying.
Only one will win this time.
A lion shall eat the lamb tonight.
Let my roar be heard.
Further then the travels of any bird.
You see me as illegitimate threat.
That is something you will regret.
Steadfast on this course we will collide.
And only one of us will survive.
The carnage won't be left in the physical realm.
But instead it will be of mental trauma.
A thick skull can be still cracked with a single tiny pebble.
X marks the spot and I will take my one and only shot.

When Two Worlds Collide
(murray, bayley, harris )
My telescope looks out
Into the stars tonight
A little speck of light
Seems twice the size tonight
The calculations are so fine
Can it be growing all the time?
Now I cant believe its true
And I dont know what to do
For the hundredth time
I check the declination
Now the fear starts to grow
Even my computer shows
There are no errors in the calculations
Now its happened take no other view
Collision course, you must believe its true
Now theres nothing left that we can do
When two worlds collide
The anger and the pain
Of all those who remain
Two worlds collide
Who will be left alive
No place to hide
When two worlds collide
The anger, the pain
Of those who remain
When two worlds collide
When two worlds collide
So who will survive
Theres no place to hide
When two worlds collide

Leroy the Lion
leroy the lion was toothless,
every elephant
giraffe parrrot and snake,
found this hilarious.
he would walk through the thick forest,
trying to look scary and mean,
he would open his wide gummy mouth,
but no animal would scream,
he really was the worst lion ever,
he was as harmless as a feather.
monkeys would throw coconuts at his weary head,
sid the snake would slither up his large lion leg,
and whisper cruel words into his ear,
and alone in his den he would release big lion tears,
then one day,
a friendly wise owl,
heard the lions sad meow,
down he flew to see the lonely lion,
the lion told the owl of his plight,
'dont worry leroy your soon cause a fright',
off his flew to brew up a plan,
just like wise owls always can.
soon he returned with a set of lions teeth,
rubbing them clean with a giant leaf,
'where did you get these dear owl'
from your dead cousin,
poor fool was crushed by a stampede of cow,
wont be needing these now,
so leroy the lion,
placed the teeth in his big eager mouth,
and roared a loud scary roar,
he thanked the owl,
and soon saw sid the sly snake,
opened his mouth,
and sid did shake,
slivering off into his hole,
then he saw the cheeky monkey,
who on sight of the lions new teeth,
screamed and run up his tree,
and from that day on,
the lion ruled strong,
he was the king of the jungle,
and this is his song

Physical
Rosie - we're talkin' to women over 35.
Olivia - you do a self-examination.
Rosie - we got another thing to keep you alive, give your boobs a squeeze!
Olivia - a mammogram makes sure that you have healthy breasts.
Rosie - no different than a cold waffle iron...
Olivia - reminds me of having my blue jeans pressed.
Rosie - so make your move and please.
Together - get a physical, physical, call and get a physical. schedule a physical
Get yourself a mammogram, you'll thank us ma'am. get yourself a mammogram.
Olivia - you can do it 'cause your strong. it only hurts for 5 seconds.
Rosie - uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh... whether they're tiny, big, or long, you know what they need.
Olivia - if you feel a marble, a pea, or a flaw, don't be shy just get it checked.
Rosie - be a trend setter, just whip off your bra! start a health stampede!
Together - get a physical, physical! it's time for your physical. don't say
You're to busyical. get yourself a mammogram, thank you ma'am. get yourself
A mammogram!

Back To You
if you're a vine, then climb
don't cling
if you're a pebble, don't shout
it is too unlikely of you
if you're a tiger, roar
if you're a lion, kill
the deer,
if you're a bird, by all means
fly
if you're the sea, keep this
width and make the storms
if you're the sky, keep
the space and hang the stars
and give way for the moon
if you're the night be dark
if you're the day, shine brightly
with the sun
keep things true to thy nature
be
there is no need to be anybody
just be yourself
now wake up, and write.

Sex Never Goes Out Of Fashion
She's the kind of girl who likes to do it stand up
From the back or anyway you want it, love
From the top if you keep it going all night
You're as good as the next for a fun time
Lookie here like a rabbit on the dancefloor
Party girl like you comin' in the back door
"c'mon boy, give it good, give an encore.."
Never leave a hungry sister begging one more
You keep it good and she'll beat you at your own game
Flip a switch and she's crying out her own name
Keep a lady happy as a little lamb
Give her head and you're riding on a sure shot
It's a sure shot... Honey, it's a sure shot
It's a sure shot, sure shot, sure shot
It's a sure shot... Honey, it's a sure shot
It's a sure shot, sure shot, sure shot
It's a sure shot... Honey, it's a sure shot
It's a sure shot, sure shot, sure shot
Wham bam slam it like a mama's man
Baby's on her back doin' the can-can
Such a babe-licious poco loco
Make her bob, make her beg and sweat it hardcore
Honky tonky lovin' keep her trembling
Funky style's never out of fashion, man
Keep it fresh with something for the weekend
Get some, daddy... You're riding on a sure shot

A Lion’s Roar (Fun Poem 36)
They say a lion’s roar
can be heard five miles away.
Therefore, if you wake up one night,
and you hear a lion’s roar,
which is completely different
from the old man’s snore.
Don’t panic, the lion could be,
at least five miles away.
Then on the other hand,
maybe you should panic,
the lion could actually be
only five minutes away.

Because Of You
I was so hypnotized
By the smile in your eyes today
Flying free as a bird
Caught inside every word you say
I want everyone to see...
This is big time
This is larger than life
See the sparks fly
When you're standing by my side
Every step, every move, everything I do
Life is beautiful because of you
Every breath that you give
You're my sweet oxygen my friend
You made me follow it fast
So my dreams could get past the end
I want everyone to feel...
This is big time
This is larger than life
See the sparks fly
When you're standing by my side
Every step, every move, everything I do
Life is beautiful because of you
How did I survive before you came into my life?
Now I'd do anything at all, anything at all
For you
This is big time
This is larger than life
See the sparks fly
When you're standing by my side
Every step, every move, everything I do
Life is beautiful because of you
Oh all because of you
Because of you
Bacause of you
Everything I do
Life is beautiful because of you
This is big time
This is larger than life
See the sparks fly
When you're standing by my side
Every step, every move, everything I do
Life is beautiful because of you
Because of you

On Vacation
My family went on a vacation
I gave my father all the persuasion
Can I go and wander in the forest
To catch at least a tiny little pest
Very dangerous it is for you to go there
There will be a lion, tiger or a big black bear
He told me, to these things pay heed
But I thought these are things I don’t need
I went to the depth of the forest
But couldn’t catch a single pest
Thinking about things I shouldn’t care
A lion, tiger or a big black bear
I started going towards a cave
Suddenly a loud roar it gave
I thought this was a good part of my vacation
When suddenly I felt suffocation
I heard the loud roar again
I felt as if I was trapped in a monster’s den
The loud roar had really given me a scare
It could be a lion, tiger or a big black bear
First it’s my life I have to save
I quickly ran out of the cave
To these things I should pay heed
Go to that cave I won’t dare indeed

Shot Of Love
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
Dont need a shot of heroin to kill my disease,
Dont need a shot of turpentine, only bring me to my knees,
Dont need a shot of codeine to help me to repent,
Dont need a shot of whiskey, help me be president.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
Doctor, can you hear me? I need some medicaid.
I seen the kingdoms of the world and its makin me feel afraid.
What I got aint painful, its just bound to kill me dead
Like the men that followed jesus when they put a price upon his head.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
I dont need no alibi when Im spending time with you.
Ive heard all of them rumors and you have heard em too.
Dont show me no picture show or give me no book to read,
It dont satisfy the hurt inside nor the habit that it feeds.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
Why would I want to take your life?
Youve only murdered my father, raped his wife,
Tattooed my babies with a poison pen,
Mocked my god, humiliated my friends.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
Dont wanna be with nobody tonight veronica not around nowhere,
Mavis just aint right.
Theres a man that hates me and hes swift, smooth and near,
Am I supposed to set back and wait until hes here?
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
What makes the wind wanna blow tonight?
Dont even feel like crossing the street and my car aint actin right.
Called home, everybody seemed to have moved away.
My conscience is beginning to bother me today.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
I need a shot of love, I need a shot of love.
If youre a doctor, I need a shot of love.

One Shot At Love
One shot
Oh lord
You know, its gonna be a lot of negative things surroundin you
Tryin to pull you down
But what you have to remember is
Its up to you - its your choice
You only get one shot in life
And you only get one shot at love
Did you ever notice - everytime you fall in love
And it seems like you finally met the perfect match
Everything is perfect, it seems divine
But for some strange reason, theres always a catch
Its a one-way relationship, it hurts inside
One person smirks while the other one cries
Butterflies in the stomach of the one whose in love
It cuts like a knife, the truth mixed with lies
One shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
Thats all you get
Physical and mental, those are two different loves
Physicals a moment, mental is forever
If the physical fades and gets weak, all of a sudden
Remember, its the mental love that keeps you together
You gotta be strong and endure the hard times
Cause af-ter hard times, good times, always follow
And when youre kissin and huggin and makin love
Treat that person like theres no tomorrow
One shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
Thats all you get baby; one shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
One shot at love, one.. shot.. (one shot at love..)
Thats all you get {*sniff*}
Jealousy - dont let it interfere
Dont let it come in between
The love you two share, cause jealousys a hateful god
So merciless and mean
And its only job in life, is to ruin relationships
And pit two people against, one another
And because of this god, the one you love so much
Will no longer be your lover
One shot (one shot at love..)
Aww baby, one shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
Thats all we get, one shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
I mean this baby, one shot at love, one shot (one shot at love..)
Thats all..
I hope you understand what I just said
All Im sayin is that you only get one shot at love in life
And you have to hold on to that shot, take advantage of it
Cause when you lose it, its gonna hurt real bad
Take it from me
You only get one shot, and I mean that
One shot
You only get you only get you only get one (2x)
One shot at love..
You only get you only get you only get one (2x)
One shot at love..
You only get you only get you only get one (2x)
One shot at love..
You only get you only get you only get one (2x)
One shot at love.. {*fades*}

Candy Store Dream
Need I pull
The escape chord?
This flying Scotsman travels too fast
Me thinks
Whilst my dog lays dying
My castle lays crumbling
My heart lays in carnage
No wonder
I sink
Last night I escaped to a world with a girl
Theatrical elegance surrounded her form
As she leant forward
Framed eyes widened (back arched)
And held
One finger
Vertically over silken pursed lips
And quietly hushed me
Ushering
Urging
Me to follow her slip like form
Through to a medly of sumptuous shades of scarlet
Sky
Tall slim conifer style clouds
Of glorious turquoise
Slipped
Slowly
By
As vertically as her finger
She led and beckoned
I followed
Clambering conifer clouds
Reaching candy striped
Tight ropes
As we tip toed above all and I eventually rose my eyes
There were many old young souls
Smiling clambering in silent jubilation
And I forgot
The flying Scot
And all it's pain
As I was a child in a candy store
Thank fully
Momentarily
Once
Again

Ambition
what i hold inside my pocket is just a pebble.
it is all that i have now.
i take it again put it on the table and look at its face closely
you know that it has no eyes
or hands or feet, i let it stay there as though there is only one pebble
in this universe of sands, i listen.
i let time stop for a while.
i look at the sky tonight and there are so many stars.
they are so distant you know that and you feel that
i take the pebble back in my pocket,
there will be no exchange, it is enough for my anchor
it is now my own rock.

Give Me All Your Love
(coverdale/sykes)
When I first saw you baby
You took my breath away,
I knew your name was trouble
But, my heart got in the way
I couldnt stop myself from reaching out,
I could not turn away
I dont even know your name
An I cant leave you alone,
Im running round in circles
Like a dog without a bone
I know the game youre playing
But, baby I just cant let go
So give me all your love tonight,
Give me all your love tonight
Ill do anything you want
Just give me all of your loving tonight
Ill work hard everyday
To love and treat you right.
Ill rock you in the morning
And roll you in the night.
Any way you want
Im gonna prove my love for you.
So give me all your love tonight,
Give me all your love tonight
Ill do anything you want,
Just give me all of your loving tonight, tonight, tonight...
So give me all your love tonight,
Give me all your love tonight
Ill do anything you want,
Just give me all of your loving tonight
So give me all your love tonight,
Give me all your love tonight
Ill do anything you want,
Just give me all of your loving tonight
I am blinded by your smile
And Im crazy about your walk
I shiver and I shake
When I hear you baby talk
Im a fool for your loving babe,
Give me all your loving tonight...
So give me all your love tonight,
Give me all your love tonight
Ill do anything you want,
Just give me all of your loving tonight
Anything you want from me...
So give me all your love tonight,
Give me all your love tonight
Ill do anything you want,
Just give me all of your loving tonight, tonight, tonight...

Never Sound Retreat
A hard fought battle you have won
This graduation day;
We fill with pride to know you still
Stand steadfast on the way.
We know you often lost your poise
And longed to sound retreat,
Until some inner strength took charge
And saved you from defeat.
Life's many battles yet to come
May test you to the core;
For every one you lose, there will
Be victories in store.
Stand firm for what you know is right,
Believe you can't be beat;
If doubts prevail then search for help,
But never sound retreat.
Just persevere and strive to step
In cadence with life's beat;
With fear and fight and faith, my son,
You'll never sound retreat-
You'll never sound retreat.
My eldest son struggled all through
high school and was now facing a stint
in the military, during the Vietnam War

The 10k Run
I'm stood at the start of my first 10k run,
Waiting for the sound of the starting gun.
BANG! And I'm off like a flying shot.
I'm going to give this all that I've got.
I soon fall into a comfortable, steady pace.
I'm not aiming for anything like first place,
But I still want to achieve a decent time,
When I finally cross the finishing line.
I'm jogging along and doing just fine,
Until we reach a very slight incline.
Running up even this fairly small hill,
Uses just about every ounce of my will.
But soon, we're back to the flat,
And I think 'Thank goodness for that! '
I grab a cup from the water station,
Then plod on with grim determination.
Thousands of rhythmic feet
Continue pounding the streets.
I keep pressing on and on and on,
And soon five miles have gone.
By this point, some people are starting to tire,
While others have as much energyl as a live wire.
I'm really hot and have broken into quite a sweat,
But there's no way I'm intending to give up yet.
The crowds along the route clap and cheer.
With every footstep, the finish draws near.
I punch the air as I finally cross the line,
And am pleased to see I beat my target time.
I'm thrilled with the time that I've achieved,
But that it's all over, I admit to being relieved.
My body feels like a mental and physical wreck,
As an official places a shiny medal round my neck
It was hard going out there today,
But it was also really great fun.
So soon I'll be back in training
For my next 10k run!

She Means Nothing To Me
Oh well here she comes now oh Im on the run now
Pretending just pretending that I dont see her
Just to teach her but darling how much longer
Can I keep on living this lie
She means nothing to me
She means nothing to me
Im still as free as a bird
Dont care what you heard about me
She means nothing to me no more
Oh shes my world oh not just some girl
Harder its getting harder to fool anyone
Not just her but I act like a man
Shed expect me to
No tears win her respect
Who am I fooling if I cant fool me
Who believes what their eyes dont see
But I keep on lying
She means nothing to me
She means nothing to me
Im still as free as a bird
Dont care what you heard about me
She means nothing to me no more
All my dreams are depending on her
And how good I am at pretending that
She means nothing to me
She means nothing to me (havent you heard)
Im still as free as a bird
Dont care what you heard about me
She means nothing to me no more
She means nothing to me
She means nothing to me (havent you heard)
Im still as free as a bird
Dont care what you heard about me
She means nothing to me no more
She means nothing to me
She means nothing to me (havent you heard)

Not Even Jail
Oh but all this to learn and your hair's so pretty
I'll say it now
And girl you shake it right
We will free love to the beats of science
I will bounce you on the lap of silence
But girl you shake it right
Betraying all the symptoms
And erring on the side of caution
And wait to watch the fire
We tremble like anyones children
We marshal in the days of longing
Not even jail
To your end
Give some meanings to the means
Remember take hold of your time here
Such a cautious display
I'm subtle like a lion's cage
It travels south with disuse
When personality is scar tissue
Cause I want it now
Oh I'll say it now
Say it now
I'll say it now
I'll say it now
If things come alive
Either physical or otherwise
I promise to commit no acts of violence
If things come alive
Yeah, I will start painting houses
I'll subtract pain by ounces
If things come alive
I'll lay down in houses
I'll lay down my glasses
Can't you feel all the warmth of my sincerity
You make motion when you cry
You're making peoples lives feel less private
Don't take time away
You make motion when you cry
We all hold hands
Can we all hold hands
When we make new friends
I pretend like no one else
To try to control myself
I'm subtle like a lion's cage
Such a cautious display
Remember take hold of your time here
Give some meanings to the means
To your end
Not even jail

Three Black Birds High Up In The Air
three black birds high
up in the air
flying
playing this early morning
on their
swift wings
i heard a single shot from the
hill and one black bird fell
the other two birds continue
to fly away
so frightened
they continue flying away
from that hill
a man with a brown cap emerges
and picks a dead black bird
on the rocky ground
