For Those Who Can See The Finish Line

I'm not the most educated poet.
But I can still read and write.
Doing the math when the images are put in black and white.
It is not to hard to see the light.
You are writing of both calm and stormy seas.
You can tell me the details of when and where lightning strikes exactly.
A moment of a matter fact.
Absolute clarity.
Now that the charity has ceased.
And I know what you want from me.
But I don't know if I can.
The perfect love story.
The perfect tragedy.
The perfect crime committed.
The absolutely unforgettable.
Oh they say it was so memorable.
But of this a story I just don't know.
I'm a captain on this ship crossing the way ward ocean.
It is so galactic and full of so much love and devotion.
But I'm choking on the salt.
I thought I could drink this water.
My misunderstanding is my own fault.
But this doesn't mean I will stop.
Not for pride do I hide among the bottom feeders.
Just looking for their moment.
One minute of fame.
A wish for somebody to remember their name.
It's not about that.
A message needs to be delivered.
And I'm the artist given the paints.
And with these colors I will do my best.
A acceptance of failures.
A question of what did I do wrong.
A moment of loneliness.
But that is now all over.
A hand has reached upon my shoulder.
A ghostly image looking back on me only makes me colder.
I must ignite this fire tonight.
For I will be leading others out of the darkness.
They will come and go and this I do know.
But it is my place.
For me to be surpassed does not matter.
For this is not my race.

My Soul For The World

Like Any Poet I'm Writing Thoughts Out. Trying To Perfect My Emotions. Trying To Perfect Every Action. Trying To Perfect My Devotion. Just Feeling It Out. Another Climatic Embrace. Another Race All The Way To Top. Its One Of Those Lets See What Got. Well Its Not A Lot. But Its Me, And The Way I Want It To Be. Its Not Another Destiny. Open You Eyes And See Me For Me. Everything I Put Down Is A Reminder Of Where I Came From, What I Went Through. And Its Something I Must Hold On To. I Can Almost Smell And Taste All Of It. Its Not Another Over Active Imagination. It A Realty That's Still My Destination. There's No Cause For Celebration. Just Meditate, So You Don't Hesitate When The Time Comes. Practice Makes Perfect. Another Portrait Portrayed In Such A Way. Its Just Amazing. At A Constant Awe. So I Thank God For Every Breath I Take. A Precious Life, In A Little Place I Call Earth. Every Time I Fall Down I Have To Have Something To Pick Me Back Up. And This Is My Moment Written In Stone. I Will Never Be Alone. Memories Can't Be Forgotten. Even If They Become Stale And Start Rotting. I Was Made For A Purpose And Finding It Is My Answer. Story

I love story.
Truly I do.
And always will.
Of the best of them
I shall not ever
Get my fill.
They are never read, told, shared or sung
In vain,
They create, live and give
An allegorical ardor to life and being
That in no other form
Can anyone find or explain.
Yet,
the fact remains,
for each persons story
'tis the same:
Wherever great fictional stories
Are shown or told,
New or old,
There is a moment of climax, fantasy,
Where the main character overcomes confrontation.
And from that moment on everything is good, o.k.,
Pure and perfect transformation.......

Real life is story too,
One big Story
Filled with every human's sub-story,
All just as real, and true.
With the full ability to be every bit as great,
Word for word,
As any fiction
Ever told and heard.
With one powerful and true exception:
In the story of our human reality
The conflict may lesson,
But never, here and now, does it ever cease.
In this life, no matter what else,
There just will not be
Perfect, never-ending beauty and peace.
It's a fantastic fable
That from a moment forward
Life can be happily ever after;
No such thing has God here promised.
Only upon Christ's return
Shall tears and pain completely give way
To joy, dancing, and laughter.
Death to evil's horrid beast,
Finally and fully finished
At the great and glorious wedding feast!

But, tis not yet so;
Tis futile to think
For anyone life is unfragile,
We are all so soon wind-swept,
Our time, place and position on earth
Is never ours to be savored and kept...
So the story goes on and on
To it's final chapter,
Where the great author alone
Writes in the wonderous finish:
'The Eternal Happily Ever After'.

Something

I'm writing in hope for something with sweet melody,
A rhythm that can be felt,
A beauty that can be read.
With words flowing like water over rocks,
Steadily without fault or obstruction.
A liquid in its purest state.

I'm writing in hope for something with sweet remembrance,
Like the scent of falling rain,
Or the memorable sound of a mothers cooing voice.
Something so memorable,
The slightest reminder sends you back to the exact moment,
Replaying in unbroken pattern of mind.

I'm writing in hope for something spectacular to happen,
For my words to form a feeling so deep they hurt,
For each image to be as clear as these words on this paper.
I want you to feel what I feel,
A feeling of lonely discontent,
Sitting alone in my own my own world, writing away.

I am writing this in hope for something to stick with you,
A message or a meaning that I've hidden inside a syllable,
A voice of reason that you have kept from yourself,
Silenced with the voice of your shallow desires.
A dream that you once had forgotten,
Lost in the darkness of the night.

I am writing this in hope for something to be brought to light.
Maybe a buried thought that you wish you never had,
Or an inner conflict that you hadn't noticed but feel tearing apart your skin,
Even an aspiration you promised to live up to but left to die.
Something so lost in the world of your mind,
Swallowed by deep chasms of thought and memory.

I am writing this in hope of telling a story.
The story of a world that can only be imagined in a dark room,
Hidden from the world and apart from anything else.
The story of a broken heart of a shortened life,
The story of the silent cries of a lost soul reaching for sanity.
My own story, perhaps, or even yours, is this your story?

I am writing in hope of making your thoughts and feelings dance,
A slow and steady music in the background,
Propelling your eyes left to right and back again.
Following the steps of each word,
The flow off each line and stanza.
An endless waltz with the reader and the writer, will you dance with me?

I am writing in hope of making an impression on your mind,
Maybe not an everlasting one, but even just a brief moment,
A moment of realization that you are now reading what I have written,
That for one moment in time our minds share the same space and thought,
Each word playing in our head the same as the other's.
Can you hear my voice, can you feel my thoughts?

I don't know why I am writing, or why I am writing what I am writing,
But I know that it has accomplished one thing,
It has given a purpose to something, if even just a piece of paper,
It has given worth to something that at one point was just a blank sheet,
Waiting for something to be etched into its surface, making it something.
I guess that's why I'm writing, I'm just writing; something.

perfect girl, perfect smile,

Theres a light that shines on

The perfect moment with the perfect person.
I'm quite suprised they're here with me.
Despite all my dreams,
I'd never have believed.
That at this moment it would finally be.

So here it is.
Finally knowing the perfect kiss.

We get to be a ripple in the water
We get to be a rock that's thrown
We get to be a boy on the bridge
Standing over the reservoir
I see the water lapping on the shoreline
Buried forest of a man made lake
Cemeteries are laying underneath it

Forever attached to the moment

Maybe only once in life
somebody comes

Kindness

Just one moment is all it took for me
to fall in love forever,
forever and a day.
And what is a moment
in the minutes that you love?
It's as big as an ocean
and the skies up above.

It can be elongated into an eternity
which has no end.
It can consume every breath you take
and can always mend
every separation that eventually
comes along.
Just that one moment is filled with song.
It sings in the heart of me
and fills me with delight.
There's always that one moment
