In response to the reaper, I speak.
Begging for my last goodbyes.
For I'm not just yet ready to die.
Demanding for inner peace before my soul will let go.
Grabbing and holding onto this world.
And in this instance the pain fades.
The eyes close.

When the Smell of Sugar Fades Away
When I hear yelling, I carry myself
Up the stairs and around the right bend
Then turn left into the little place
After we transformed it
Into a place I couldn't imagine before
We shouldn't just ignore it
I go to my oasis when feelings take over
The ones I wish wouldn't exist
I go there when I have no more patience
And even clouds seem to get in my way
When the smell of sugar fades away, and I need a helping hand
I'm taken by the dim light that keeps me awake
I'm swallowed by the mountains of adventures packaged into one place
Of fairy tales that only the younger me believed were true
Now I can finally face the truth- they can't happen
The world isn't all black and white
And nothing has a pure "happy" ending
I still take pleasure in reading them- it gives me a glimpse of the younger me, the past one that believed
Even though she didn't have many chances to do everything she wanted to do
She never had to face the feelings that I wish wouldn't exist
When the smell of sugar fades away
I seem to melt like I won't see another day
But the soft space and the books are like my best friend
They come alive as I walk inside again
The clink of the crescent moon beating a rhythm against the lamp
The blanket seems to dance as I quietly think
I close my eyes, and dream of peace
My feelings disappear when I wake up next
The anger resides, and I stay a minute and rest
I travel miles, it seems, to my oasis

I Hope It Happens Soon
I've stood many times in the face of troubles
Once or twice face to face with death
One night so close I even fealt his breath
You see I was knelling and the reaper, was hovering over me
Breathing down my neck
I was trying to help my buddy, we were one
Yet the bullets still came from N.V.A.guns
I've never forgotten those nights of fear
Nor when the Grim Reaper came so near
That came so close to vist with me
In that land, Black Hell across the sea
Forty one, some years have come and gone
But I remember as if it was just before the dawn
So now my heart goes hungry through this world
Never finding the peace I seek
Nor a way to hide pains that cries out
With words that it cannot speak

My Tomb
The four walls around me,
The bed in which I lay.
A lock on my door,
Keeps everyone away.
The outside world has nothing,

You held out and hurt yourself again did i not make it clear
to look around my selfish queer with unlit eyes and average
dope you're in the dream room all alone
I have seen you before,
holding out here in the deep end my beautiful deep end with all and odd
You yell out and touch the sound so overwhelmed by simple things
you tend to fear the time is now for ease and thought to come around
and let you know you're in the dream room letting go
