Human thought is like a monstrous pendulum: it keeps swinging from one extreme to the other. Within the compass of five generations we find the Puritan first an uncompromising believer in demonology and magic, and then a scoffer at everything involving the play of fancy.

Sonnet: To God, All Men Are Alike
Which human life is superior in cost?
Which human blood is royal all along?
Which human breed has been always foremost?
Which human voice has sung world's most hit-song?
Nothing can be for long, the best, purest;
All human lives are equal 'fore God's eyes;
Reward/punishment of God is fairest;
Can God be God if He should reward vice?
Like pendulum, our life keeps swinging forth;
And see-saw-like, we have our ups and downs;
Despite iniquities, living is worth;
A circus-show has many, also clowns.
Never look down upon another life,
Lest angered God serves us enormous strife.

Who Stole my magical part?
Once i was a single piece of story,
And then was added up with a bit of Magic.
I roamed about on the grass and the slums
And on the glass of hope and in salty lake.
A bottle of tear was changed to pure wine
And the glasses of wine to strong Vodka.
The magic was so sleek and the core was hot
It burnt me like a cup of water in a pot
my hair got straightened, when the magic
Was by hearted by me and filled up my nerve.
It was born in me and grew with me and then,
I thought it would die with me and get buried.
Nothing happened, never did i die or the other,
Never did the magic die and moved selfless.
Never ambitious i was, but the magic was.
Not the magician i was of that magic, i thought
Just a dropp of the self, threw the magic from me?
Did my veins broke and was i soaked in blood?
It was all a magic of life who taught me to roam
And i knew, hidden was there someone to watch me,
Doing the magic, unskillfully, in dramatic pace.
All in grief I was, coz I forgot all that I knew,
Who is raiding my soul? I asked myself,
Neither I answered nor anyone else or the Magic either
And on the way I found the Magic playing against me.
Realized I, with extreme gentleness, my plight
The time was up and no more magician I was.
I saw it played by someone else whom I didn’t know,
And who stole my magical part for him,
Was that myself? Or was that a Magic.

A New England Valentine
O, SWEET little maid of a Puritan line,
O, dear little maid of a Puritan town,
On the morn of that saint whom they name Valentine,
I am asking a boon,—and I pray do not frown;
For, coy little Puritan maid of to-day,
I ask but a quaint little Puritan "Yea."
Look around on the walls of your Puritan home,
Where your prim lady ancestors hang in a row,
In quaint little kerchiefs, in cap and in comb;
Take counsel by them, dear, for well do you know
You would not be here, little maiden, to-day
If they had not spoken that Purtian "Yea."
Your pride is in them, and your faith and your love;
Ah, is there not some overflowing for me?
They lived long ago, and they hang far above,
I am nearer and younger,—Ah, cannot it be?
Then send me an answer this Valentine's day,
But pray it be not that cold Puritan "Nay!"

One Believer
There are some roads you must walk yourself,
Just you and your own Faith: nothing else.
And on those dark days you're bound to go through,
Here's something to hold on to.
You got one believer,
One whose Faith goes deeper.
When someone loves you as much as me,
One believer is all you need.
This world's gonna try to bring you down,
But don't you let it: you just stand your ground.
Whatever happens, never forget:
Wherever you are, as long as I live.
You got one believer,
One whose Faith goes deeper.
When someone loves you as much as me,
One believer is all you need.
When someone loves you as much as me,
One believer is all you need.
One (One.)
Believer,
One whose Faith goes deeper.
When someone loves you as much as me,
One believer is all you need.
Oh One (Just one.)
Believer.
Mmm.

We've Got The Magic
All I need is a place in my heart
To keep me happy 'til the day I die
All I want is a place in my soul
To reach up far and touch the sky
It's magic
We've got the smile that'll make you laugh (ha)
A special way to show you it's real
Some people think it's a touch of class
But you know it's just the way we feel
It's magic
We've got the magic, deep in our souls
We've got the magic, to play rock-n-roll
We've got the magic, to never grow old
Can't you hear the sound, in the air
Can't wait to show this magic inside
Gonna bust out and spread it wide
Can't you hear what we're trying to say
Feeling's gettin' stronger everyday
It's magic
We've got the magic, deep in our souls
We've got the magic, to play rock-n-roll
We've got the magic, to never grow old
Can't you hear the sound, in the air (whoa yeah)
We've got the magic, deep in our souls (yeah)
We've got the magic, to play rock-n-roll
We've got the magic, we'll never grow old
We've got the magic
We've got the magic
We've got the magic
You've got the magic
So take it on home
We've got the magic, deep in our souls
We've got the magic, to play rock-n-roll
We've got the magic, it's magic, magic (whoa-oh)

Mischief & Control
There is a fire within all of us
There is a river flowing in your soul
To put out the fire when it gets out of control
There is a stranger in all of us
That we try to get to know
There is a wise woman in there, too
She's trying to run the show
I can not escape the constant equipoise
In between the mischief and control
Swinging from the pendulum of desires
In between the mischief and control
There is a painter in all of us
She knows exactly which brush to choose
She knows exactly where to make a stroke
But there's an army of voices
She might have to get through
There is a writer in all of us, yeah
He knows what to say and he knows when it's done
But then there's this twenty-foot blank page
You gotta fill, darling
Or you think your life has no meaning
I can not escape the constant equipoise
In between the mischief and control
Swinging from the pendulum of desires
In between the mischief and control
Excuses piling up like junkyards
We never want to sort through
Efficiently we hide our needs
And all along a voice is calling out please, please
'cause i'm so hungry and i'm so tired
I feel so lonely, i feel so wired
I need my angel...where is my angel

Play The Field
Verse 1:
Loving can be simple
(find a guy, settle down)
Can it be so simple
(touch the sky, look around)
There is so much out there
(wait your turn, stand in line)
Theres a someone somewhere
(you will learn, you will find)
There is so much waiting for you
Listen here is all you must do
Chorus a:
Play the field
You gotta look around
Lovin is so real
Dont just settle down
Just play the field
And leave what is behind
Dont just make a deal
See what you can find
Verse 2:
If you want some loving
(youll be loved, many times)
Pushing comes to shoving
(and enough chance to find)
Come on stop your crying
(over one special boy)
Do a little lying
(have some fun, dont be coy)
Dont waste your life on a dream
Take it to the opposite extreme
Chorus a
Come on have some fun
Dont waste your life on a dream
Take it to the opposite extreme
Chorus a
See what you can find
Chorus b:
Just play the field
And let yourself go wild
Lovin is so real
Youre acting like a child
So play the field
Youre always on the run
Dont just make a deal
Come on have some fun
Bridge:
Play the field
On the run (on the run)
Make a deal
Have some fun
Chorus a
See what you can find
Chorus b
Chorus a
See what you can find
Chorus b
Play the field
Play the field
Play the field
(fade)

The Pendulum
The pendulum swings to both extremes;
Each side is unreal or so it seems.
Good times are too good and bad times too bad.
So both sides replace the spaces they had.
All that is sure is that change will occur.
Those who embrace it will no doubt endure.
Those fighting the pendulum and its change
Will flounder and falter in a life they estrange.
Opportunities abound as the pendulum swings.
For the advantageous there’s a plethora of things.
But the negative attitude will suffer a fall
When struck severely by the pendulum’s ball.
As stark as today’s events appear to be,
The pendulum’s equilibrium will set them free.
Look to the long term with unfailing hope.
Take advantage of the pendulum no matter its slope.

I'm A Beleiver
Written by Neil Diamond
I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me
Love was out to get me
That's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all my dreams
Then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her if I tried
I thought love was more or less a giving thing
Seems the more I gave, the less I got
What's the use in trying
All you get is pain
When I needed sunshine, I got rain
Then I saw her face
Now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her if I tried

The Day Magic Died
I sat down and cried, wondered why, magic died
Do you know of its demise,
Now I fear and dare not dream of miracles
And how we came about, and fables full of doubt
How could God let magic die and pass away
Now who will believe in Him who made the world in 6 days
All the devils sinners and dragons have gone to hell
All the martyrs, god's men and goodmen in heaven to dwell
Magic died, no more gimmicks tricks, miracles of wonderland
All the king's witches and wizards can't bring magic back again
Though I cry at the shores of reason, they're brushed away
By winds of logic and real, mathematics and steel
Come out and play with me, I would see the magic of your glee
but you say magic has died, I cannot play till we find to where he went
and why, magic come back, make us free to dream and hope for more

Magic
Theres a light in the sky that hangs on the edge of illusion
Something very fine but its something you know is there
Mystery of time hidden by a man of confusion
But the hand is quicker than the eye
Only the stranger knows why
cos its magic
You know its magic that youll find
You see its magic
I know who you are and theres magic in you
Keep your eye on the man
And dont look away for a moment
How is it done how does he make me see
Something up his sleeve when speaks you want to believe him
But the hand is quicker than the eye
Only the stranger knows why
cos its magic
Can you see its magic that youll find
You know its magic
I know who you are and theres magic in you
Driven by a force
Moving in another dimension
Here for today, gone for eternity
Seeking for truth hidden by the word of his wisdom
But the hand is quicker than the eye
Only the stranger knows why
Cant you feel its magic
You know its magic that youll find
I said its magic
I know who you are and theres magic in you

This World Is Magic
Dreams can make you fly
This world is magic
Rainbows in the sky
This world is magic to me
Dreams can make you fly
This world is magic
We need peace on earth
The second birth of paradise
This world is magic
This world is magic to me
This world is magic
What is the magic of this world
What is the magic of this world
What is the magic of this world
What is the magic of this world
What is the magic of this world
What is the magic of this world
We need peace on Earth
The second birth of paradise
This world is what we share
The nature and the air
Life could be paradise
Eternal peace is what we need
To live in harmony
For human history
Pray for a better world
When you close your eyes again
Planet Earth, that's the name of my place
I'm born in this world, in the entire space
Planet earth, is my home, is my face
Follow your trace embrace this human race
In case, there's a new decade in human history
I'm talking about respect this is my destiny
Feel free, and stop running away
From the doubt in your mind,- never fade to grey
Planet Earth, gentle and blue
Then cold as a rock, or ice without a hue
Planet earth, made out of dust
A big ball of metal, condemn to rust
Pray, let your soul be free
Find out how to heal a bleeding wound don't stand around
Life could be paradise, peace on earth is what I found
All around in a magic world from the air to the ground

I Know That Its Magic
Im amazed at things you, you do it all with ease
I smile while everything you do, drives me to my knees
cos I know that its magic, and I know that its magic
Yes, I know that its magic, in everything you try to do
Many times I see ahead, Ill have to make a stand
Maybe I can call on you, I know youd understand
cos I know that its magic, and I know that its magic
Yes, I know that its magic, in everything you try to do
cos I know that its magic, and I know that its magic
Yes, I know that its magic, in everything you try to do

Strange Magic
Youre sailing softly through the sun
In a broken stone age dawn.
You fly so high.
I get a strange magic,
Oh, what a strange magic,
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
Got a strange magic.
Youre walking meadows in my mind,
Making waves across my time,
Oh no, oh no.
I get a strange magic,
Oh, what a strange magic,
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
Got a strange magic.
Oh, Im never gonna be the same again,
Now Ive seen the way its got to end,
Sweet dream, sweet dream.
Strange magic,
Oh, what a strange magic,
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
Got a strange magic.
Its magic, its magic, its magic.
Strange magic,
Oh, what a strange magic,
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic.
Strange magic strange magic
Oh, what a strange magic strange magic
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic.
Strange magic strange magic
Oh, what a strange magic strange magic
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
Got a strange magic,
You know I got a strange magic,
Yeah, I got a strange magic,
Oo-o-o-oo, strange magic. (fade)
