A cat can be trusted to purr when she is pleased, which is more than can be said for human beings.

When we, through our educational culture, through the media, through the entertainment culture, give our children the impression that human beings cannot control their passions, we are telling them, in effect, that human beings cannot be trusted with freedom.

Human Beings
Human being beings are strange in being human,
Strange in love and art and vice,
Strange in being nice
Human beings are strangers in the night
Lights shining on a starry night
No sooner blinked out they are gone
A stranger in the human race
Keeping up keeping face,
Moving on
In crowds and queues and buses
Walking alone at ten
Human beings in being human
Make the strangest men
Not easy to be read,
Or clothed or fed
Or put to bed
Each thought entwined
Lives over signed overlapped
Smaller beings kept but not as 'pets'
Sometimes feel 'trapped'
For human beings are best when left at sea
Frantic firey disordered unchained set free
Their limpet souls make rocks their strange security
For love for life for space,
Human beings are strangest in 'The Human Race'

Pinkle Purr
Tattoo was the mother of Pinkle Purr,
A little black nothing of feet and fur;
And by-and-by, when his eyes came through,
He saw his mother, the big Tattoo.
And all that he learned he learned from her.
'I'll ask my mother,' says Pinkle Purr.
Tattoo was the mother of Pinkle Purr,
A ridiculous kitten with silky fur.
And little black Pinkle grew and grew
Till he got as big as the big Tattoo.
And all that he did he did with her.
'Two friends together,' says Pinkle Purr.
Tattoo was the mother of Pinkle Purr,
An adventurous cat in a coat of fur.
And whenever he thought of a thing to do,
He didn't much bother about Tattoo,
For he knows it's nothing to do with her,
So 'See you later,' says Pinkle Purr.
Tattoo is the mother of Pinkle Purr,
An enormous leopard with coal-black fur.
A little brown kitten that's nearly new
Is now playing games with its big Tattoo…
And Pink looks lazily down at her:
'Dear little Tat,' says Pinkle Purr.

Epitaph on an army of mercenaries (in answer to A.E. Housman)
In the days that war was in heaven
when its halls was filled with dread,
Satan called holy beings to be heathen,
to wage war and in rebellion to spread.
There the uprising and terror was ended
while they led the human beings on earth astray,
what God created, these wanted suspended
to lead human beings to destruction and away.

Human Beings
It is only love I feel
That will give us peace of heart
In my hour of desperate need
I feel closer to the one
Oh but why...
Please
Human being
If you bleed
they will say it was destined
They'll be punchin' tickets
By the minute if you fall out of line
desperate
desperate
Tell me is it death you feel
That will bring you peace of life.
Who wants
Tell me you're one of us
Tell me you're one
Tell me you're one of us
Tell me you're one
When you lose your self esteem
That's when love dies...
Ohhh...
Please human being
If you bleed
They will say that it's destined
They'll be punchin' tickets
By the minute if you fall out of line
We're mere human beings we die
So...
So...destined desperate
Well I feel
When you've reached number one
You look like you're puffing but
Really only blocking the sun...
Blocking the sun
Blocking the sun
We're mere human beings
We die
It's destined
They'll be punchin' tickets
By the minute you fall out of life
We're mere human beings we die
We're mere human beings we die
Desperate
It's destined
We're mere human beings we die
desperate
it's destined
destined
We're mere human beings we die

All the beings in the universe are astounded
All the beings in the universe are astounded
that the almighty One
comes to earth as a human
and being God and human
are bonded in Him
and there’s a boy crying in clothes.
All the beings in the universe are astounded
that the almighty One
with angels all around
as human alone,
had to pay the price
and a Godly being dies in stead of everybody
and all the beings in the universe are astounded

If I Trusted You as I Should
IF I TRUSTED YOU AS I SHOULD
If I trusted You as I should,
I would not worry as I do
I would not fear as I do
I would not grieve as I do.
If I trusted You as I should
I would simply know
That somehow
Ultimately
All will be Alright and Good.
If I trusted You as I should.

We think the whole world's going to change, and forget that human beings are still human beings; we have the same five senses, we still interact the same way, we still love and hate the same way, but marketers lose track of that. But then it comes down to earth.

0266 This one's only for those who like it
Did Jesus, as a baby, cry?
For was there aught to cry for?
Or were His tears from God’s own holy font,
knowing, what He was here for?
The story speaks of one
who’s seldom seen in Christmas cribs –
one of the first of animals to make praise:
the inn’s pet tabby cat, who, woken strangely
by the faintest sound – yet, not a mouse who stirred –
yawned, stretched, strolled slowly down to check
that in the stable, all was peace…
and it was peace, as peace was ever known.
What could a tabby do but purr?
The Christ Child woke; his lips seemed almost
to form some first and holy word;
gazed at the tabby cat, strange creature
of this strange new world; saw it was good;
and smiled.. and Mary, seeing this, and
hearing in that purr, Creation’s praise,
leant down and with her hands, till then
pressed in her world-bearing humility -
and on the tabby’s forehead
as some mark of christenings yet to come,
fingered the initial ‘M’ – not as some believe,
her name – though happy coincidence, but
the nearest human beings may come
to praising godly human, human God,
with perfect purr of peace. And so and ever since
the tabby bears upon its forehead that sacred
M. You didn’t know? Well, take a look…
And you may wonder why
this god or goddess of the hearth
is not so honoured in the Christmas crib?
Not as some unimaginative people think,
in case it smothered inadvertently
the Christ Child – well, is that likely?
No – it was as peaceful messenger
outside the stable, marshalling in its holy role
the birds and animals who’d first picked up
even perhaps before the shepherds, that
cosmic sound: ‘The stable’s full right now – please form
an orderly queue’ – and I’m sure
I needn’t tell you that this orderly queue, of two by two,
followed the same order as they embarked
and later, disembarked, from – yes, you guessed it -
The Ark.
So this Christmas, if you still have your loved
but battered Noah’s Ark
with all (well, mostly, now) its precious cargo –
line them up around the crib, in an orderly
queue of praise.
How quiet and peaceful,
now, they are!

Of Humans And Dogs
The more I know human beings,
The more I love my dogs.
There's no comparison I'm seeing,
Like a princess and a frog.
A dog will always be there,
No matter what you've done,
A human just can't seem to care,
For you or anyone.
A human will turn you away,
And never blink an eye.
A dog will be there everyday,
And will never make you cry.
A dog will give you love,
unconditionally.
Humans just don't give enough,
There's no comparison for me.
The more I know human beings,
The more I love my pup.
Yes I'm the one believing,
A dog's love will not stop.

Saturated In a Marination
'It's a devastating thing...
For one who chooses to think,
And surrounded by mindless human beings! '
Ignorance for what it is,
Is a most difficult thing...
For one to overcome!
Not everyone can resist this pull.
Not all are prone,
To sit alone in isolation.
To satisfy a thinking sensation!
'It's a devastating thing...
For one who chooses to think,
And surrounded by mindless human beings! '
And that's what it takes,
To break from the commonness of it!
Ignorance can be comforting.
Especially when so many,
Have been bred and born to feed on it.
Saturated in a marination...
Seeped with ingredients,
That produce clowns to fool around.
Displaying condoned qualities of misfits.
'It's a devastating thing...
For one who chooses to think,
And surrounded by mindless human beings! '
Is it an illness...
Ever to be cured?
And chased away from its endurance?
Ever to be blocked and knock out...
Never to regain a need for it to remain unchanged?
'It's a devastating thing...
For one who chooses to think,
And surrounded by mindless human beings! '
Ignorance can not be that deep of an affliction!
Why is it so craved?
Why is it chosen...
To wallow in and stay?
'It's a devastating thing...
For one who chooses to think,
And surrounded by mindless human beings! '
Wanting to comprehend and understand...
May today be the most dangerous weapon.
For inquisitive children.
Or thoughtful women.
Or the deeds of a concerned,
And caring man!
Even when this is done,
It is best not to be seen.
By anyone!
On any surfaced scene.
Where they will be demeaned.
Avoiding suspicion,
Should be the condition...
Of one who chooses to connect with thought.
Selecting that as an escape.
An undercover mission!
'It's a devastating thing...
For one who chooses to think,
And surrounded by mindless human beings! '
