To snap my fingers and let it go away. Even if it takes the 3,000th hit with it, just let it all go away.

Black And White Makes Grey...

If I was to snap my fingers and everyone turned black
How would we be any different from one another?
If I was to snap my fingers and everyone turned white
How would we be any different from one another?
We wouldn't be different.
We could walk down the street
and no one would 'think' any differently.

So all the discrimination and deaths over the years
are just superficial?
Please tell me that people are not that shallow..
tell me that all those people didn't die
just because they have more melanin in their skin
or because their eyes were a different shape..
or because their hair is curly.
Tell me people didn't die just because
I didn't snap my fingers.
If I had, and we were all the same colour..
would there have been the word..discrimination.

Are we really that shallow? ? ! !

Dont tell me to snap out of it

Dont tell me to snap out of it

Why must you Tell me this?
The same thing day in day out.
Just snap out of it.
Its easier said than done.
When one has been in such
Emotional pain.
Lost in their fears
Not noing which way to go.

Im so very low
And all you can say is
Just snap out of it
Dont be stupid.

Why must you be so blind?
Its not so easy to do
Just snap out of it.

Open your eyes
Stop being iggnorant.
I cant simpily
Just snap out of it.

As I Lie

As I lie
And snap my fingers,
Remembering a thought
That still lingers,
While tossing and turning
In my bed,
I feel like then
An un-restless dead,
Trying to sleep
Then trying to awake,
With streams of dreams
I hopefully try to break,
I then see a vision
I then hear a thought,
That not long ago
I had caught,
It is now filling me
With silly rhymes,
From a different moment
And also a different time,
Why do I lie
Why don't I cry,
Why don't I sleep
And then softly die,
But then as I stare
And I see a book,
The visions not here
As I take another look,
So on my back
I will then roll,
To look at my ceiling
And then my soul,
And as I lie
And then I snap my fingers
Now that thought with me,
It now no longer lingers.

Who Do You Think You Are

Written by ricki & kim wilde
A long time ago you promised yourself
Theyre all gonna know me someday
Well you got what you wanted
But look at you now
You lost something good on the way
So where did it go
Tell me where did it go
But you wouldnt know
Snap your fingers and somebody runs
You dont care how they feel
Just as long as they come
Got your head in the stars
Now youve come this far
Just who do you think you are ?
Now everything seems to be going your way
And everyone loves what they see
But you ruin it all with the things that you say
So tell me how does it feel
When youre all alone
How does it feel
Youre alone
Nothing is real
Snap your fingers and somebody runs
You dont care how they feel
Just as long as they come
Got your head in the stars
Now youve come this far
Just who do you think you are ?
You believe a ridiculous lie
You cant see youve become
All the things you despise
But I know who you are
And youve gone too far
Just who do you think you are ?
You can keep all your dreams
But you dont have to lose yourself
Cos one day youre gonna break
When the face in the mirror
Looking back at yous
A stranger that you cant place
Just who do you think you are ?
Snap your fingers and somebody runs
You dont care how they feel
Just as long as they come
Got your head in the stars
Now youve come this far
Just who do you think you are ?
You believe a ridiculous lie
You cant see youve become
All the things you despise
But I know who you are
And youve gone too far
Just who do you think you are ?

Uh-Uh

No need to tell me you don't understand.
Uh-uh...
I'm not the kind to seek a rhyme or reason.
No!
Don't snap your fingers and from me demand.
Uh-uh...
To have me do
What you want.
Just to be pleasing you.
I am no monkey in a zoo!

Uh-uh,
I'm told you talk about me with your friends.
Uh-uh...
What makes you think I have armored feelings?
So,
There are some things about you I can't stand.
Uh-huh...
You like the kind,
To be backstabbing people like you,
I may be weak but not a fool!

Oh...
No need to tell me you don't understand.
Uh-uh...
I'm not the kind to seek a rhyme or reason.
No!
Don't snap your fingers and from me demand.
Uh-uh...
To have me do,
What you want!
Just to be pleasing you...
I am no monkey in a zoo!

Too many folks like you,
Don't appreciate.
Or affiliate,
With what is good!
You think you are the world.
And others should
Accept you as their precious diamond!
Wishing to touch you,
As they stand in line!

Oh, uh-uh!

I'm told you talk about me with your friends.
Uh-uh...
What makes you think I have armored feelings?
So,
There are some things about you I just can't stand.
Uh-huh...
You like the kind,
To be backstabbing people like you,
I may be weak but not a fool!

Don't snap your fingers and from me demand!
Uh-uh...
To have me do
What you want.
Just to be pleasing you.
I ain't no monkey in a zoo!

Oh, uh-uh...
I may be weak but not a fool!
I'm through!
My time is not all about you!

Gone For Good

A greatness once had,
Can not be recaptured...
By the snap of one's fingers.
Or an emergency visit made,
By one's drug dealer...
Who has promised to restore,
Unblemished visions from the past!

When you are washed up,
You've become washed up for good...
In Hollywood.
Listening to one's self singing,
Sweet melodies...
Recorded on CD's on loan,
From the local library...
Doesn't get empathy from Mother Nature.

When fame and fortune is misused,
In a conscious self abuse.
It becomes known and shown.
To garner bouquets of disrespect.
And loyalty is noticed to be distanced.

A greatness once had,
Can not be recaptured...
By the snap of one's fingers.
Or an emergency visit made,
By one's drug dealer.

Achieving greatness is something,
No one should ever take for granted.
Or believed can be enforced,
To be accepted once it is gone.
Once it leaves an ego unguarded...
That greatness is gone for good!
And not for the good of perceptions.

Like You Have Earned It

You do nothing at all,
But want to get paid.
And this you insist!

All you want to do,
Is play a childish game.
With sweetened innocence.

Then you want to lay up and sleep all day,
Like you have earned it.

Then you snap your fingers with the giving of orders.
Like you have earned it.

Nobody here is your slave for a day.
Like you have earned it.

Or turn around and give you their hard earned dollar,
Like you have earned it!

While you eat up everything like it's okay.
Like you have earned it!

Oh...
You do nothing all day but want to get paid.
And this you insist.

All you want to do,
Is play a childish game.
With sweetened innocence.

Then you snap your fingers with the giving of orders.

I'd Like To Practice Harmony

I'd like to snap you back,
To a place,
We had!

I'd like to snap you back,
To a time before delusions.

I'd like to snap us back,
When we were happy and glad.

I'd like to snap us back!
And awaken from delusions.
I'd like to practice harmony...
And get more of that!

I'd like to snap us back!
And awaken from delusions.
I'd like to practice harmony...
And get more of that!

I'd like to snap you back,
To a place,
We had!
There was no substitution,
For the love we made.

I'd like to snap us back!
And awaken from delusions.
There was no substitution,
For the love we made.

I'd like to snap you back,
To a place,
We had!

I'd like to snap you back,

I'd like to snap you back,

Fresh, Tinned or Frozen

Father was a snap bean,
that's all, Sis,
nothing more.
Fresh, tinned or frozen,
the greens of snap beans vary.

Neighbors in the yard,
clerks at the store,
folks at church,
you and me and bawling Ma,
for years we fed his strange chameleons

so we can swear, on the Bible,
Father was a snap bean,
that's all, Sis.
Nothing more.
Fresh, tinned or frozen.

I See You in Your Fingers

I see your fingers
I see you in your fingers
I see your history from your fingers
I feel your touch from your fingers
They don't tell a lie to me
They don't give me a fake smile
Or promising kiss
But they give me a warm hold
and tickling touch
I see you from your fingers
I see the truth from your fingers
I see you in your fingers

Every Morning

every morning...he takes his off...his eyes...from their places...clumsily...lazı ly.....as he...as he leaves out..and gets out of his dreams...then he...puts on his feet...counts his arms..and if his fingers are in teir right places and complete...he places his head to its usual place...he then takes out his stomach....pours some tea in it....and silently...goes out...leaves to work...there he takes out his feet again...his fills his head with many troubles....in evening he returns home..his lonely home...then counts his broken hopes...he leaves one of his feet in the kitchen..the other on the streets....then scatters his fingers in the house...then goes....to sleep...to dreams...

Thats What It Takes

And now it begins to shine
And you found the eyes to see
Each little drop at dawn of evry day
Your smile, it comes back to me
And whatever you may say
Dont let it stop, never fade away
As we got to get out in this world together, oh
Doesnt really matter if we start to make some changes, oh
If thats what it takes (thats what it takes)
Then Ive got to be strong (thats what it takes)
Dont want to be wrong
If thats what it takes
The closer I get (thats what it takes)
Into that open door (what it takes)
Ive got to be sure
If thats what it takes
And now that its shining through
And you can see all this world
Dont let it stop, never fade away
If we got to be in this life forever, oh-oh
Then wed better be taking all the chances, oh oh
If thats what it takes (thats what it takes)
Then Ive got to be strong (thats what it takes)
Dont want to be wrong
If thats what it takes
The closer I get (thats what it takes)
Into that open door (what it takes)
Ive got to be sure
If thats what it takes
Thats what it takes, thats what it takes
Thats what it takes, thats what it takes
(thats) what it takes, thats what it takes
Thats what it takes, (thats) what it takes
Thats what it takes, oh, thats what it takes
(repeat and fade:)
Oh, thats what it takes

Paparazzi

Paparazzi, cant make the man.
Paparazzi, cant break the man.
Next to the transit lounge
See the paparazzi tears.
No-one came in today
From boston or tangiers.
And in departures ---
Only faceless trippers trip,
Loaded with duty free
Held in white knuckle grip.
Snap it up, flash away ---
Steal a camel for a day.
Break the story in heavy type ---
The news is running late tonight.
Be-decked with nikon necklaces
Hear the paparazzi cries.
Under their noses walk
The famous in disguise.
Conspicuously huddled there
But no-one stops to look.
Theyve got their crayons out
To colour in the book.
Snap it up, flash away ---
Steal a camel for a day.
Break the story in heavy type ---
Paparazzi wont be home tonight.
Paparazzi --- write it down.
Paparazzi --- turn it around.
Paparazzi --- take it, fake it,
Break it.
'cos its a story.
Now someones cut the lines
Communications down.
All photo film is fogged.
Celebrities surround
And jab their fingers at me.
They kiss but I cant tell.
Even poor paparazzi
Must have privacy as well.
Snap it up, flash away ---
Steal a camel for a day.
Break the story in heavy type ---
The news is running late tonight.
Snap it up, flash away ---
Steal a camel for a day.
Break the story in heavy type ---
Paparazzi wont be home tonight.

Frenzied Fingers Run Amuck

When I get you into my arms
I can't control the things that I do.
Fingers grab the hair on your head.
Fingers caress the small of your back.
Fingers travel down your spine
and back up again.
Fingers reach to all corners of your being,
quietly unnoticed at first,
but more frenzied with passing time.

Wild fingers travel your soul
with frenzied action that is hard to stop.
Uncontrollable fingers run wild
until you beg them to stop.
But even then, there's no counting on it.
These fingers like to run wild.
Whenever I place my fingers on you,
frenzied fingers run amuck.

It Takes Two

(sylvia moy, william stevenson)
One can have a dream baby
Two can make a dream so real
One can talk about being in love
Two can see how it really feels
One can wish upon a star
Two can make a wish come true
One can stand alone in the dark
Two can make a light shine through
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
One can have a broken heart living in misery
Two can really ease the pain like a perfect remedy
One can be alone in a bar like an island hes all alone
Two can make just any place seem just like bein at home
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
One can go out to a movie looking for a special treat
Two can make that single movie something really kind of neat
And one can take a walk in the moonlight thinking that its really nice
But two lovers walking hand in hand is like adding just a pinch of spice
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two

I feel that rhythmic vibe alive in people.
And how they meet on the street...
To speak,
And leave.

I feel that rhythm come alive to vibe in people.
And...
I might snap my fingers to create my own beat,
And...
Pat my own feet!
If...
I,
Feel it!

Under The Spell

Peterik/syniar/wertico
Theres a stormy vision
Stars before my eyes
I seem to have this fear of the dark
That only love defies
And Im walkin as if in a trance
And Im talkin like a man possessed
Makes me wonder if Ill ever get straight
When you snap your fingers and change my fate, baby
Love gets its way and honey I must obey
Im under the spell
So tough to clear out my head
Comin down from a night of passion
I blacked out the moment I felt
This could only be love
Im under the spell
A physical reaction, the doctors all agree
Disillusions all in my head
Its so real to me
And Im walkin as if in a trance
And Im talkin like a man possessed
Makes me wonder if Ill ever get straight
When you snap my fingers and change my fate, baby
Youll get your way - cause honey - I must obey
Im under the spell
So tough to clear out my head
Comin down from a night of passion
I blacked out the moment I felt
This could only be love
Im under the spell
Starstruck - I stare into space
I see the flash - then I hear the thunder
So shocked - Im merely a shell
Its stranger than love -
Im under the spell
Fools fall in love under the moonlight
Count me as one - under the spell

After The 3,000 Cranes

after the 3,000 cranes
religiously made, day and night
as promised by the gods
my cheek turns pink this day

and now i am into my 4,000th poem
i am praying to my gods of poetry
to energize my nerves to make
this body move, to make me whole
again, so i may learn the true
meaning of my poems about
faith, love, and hope.

let me begin first with hope.
