I've devoted a lot of my time and effort during the past few years to developing my advertising copywriting business to the point of where I can support my family and don't have to depend on writing fiction for my income.

Family Pictures
Don’t you just love old family pictures?
Dug out from dusty box or chest
I don’t think there is anything else
That can compare – they’re the absolute best
There is nothing like those black and whites
The photos from the past
Of course we know from history
That nothing ever lasts
Time moves on, of course it does
But pictures can live without end
They keep our families together
They are one thing that we can depend
Family pictures are such treasures
They take us back in time
They put us in the moment
And let the past unwind
As I go through several lifetimes
And look at my family’s history
I’m so thankful I have these photos
They help unravel many family mysteries!

I don't think American poetry has gotten any better in the past 35 years. Oddly enough, creative writing programs seem to have been good for fiction, and I would not have predicted that.

Busload Of Faith
You cant depend on your family
You cant depend on your friends
You cant depend on a beginning
You cant depend on an end
You cant depend on intelligence
Ooohhh, you cant depend on god
You can only depend on one thing
You need a busload of faith to get by, watch, baby
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
You need a busload of faith to get by
You can depend on the worst always happening
You can depend on a murderers drive
You can bet that if he rapes somebody
Therell be no trouble having a child
You can bet that if she aborts it
Pro-lifers will attack her with rage
You can depend on the worst always happening
You need a busload of faith to get by, yeah
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by, baby
Busload of faith to get by
You cant depend on the goodly hearted
The goodly hearted made lamp-shades and soap
You cant depend on the sacrament
No father, no holy ghost
You cant depend on any churches
Unless theres real estate you want to buy
You cant depend on a lot of things
You need a busload of faith to get by, woh
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
You cant depend on no miracle
You cant depend on the air
You cant depend on a wise man
You cant find em because theyre not there
You can depend on cruelty
Crudity of thought and sound
You can depend on the worst always happening
You need a busload of faith to get by, ha
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by
Busload of faith to get by

Family Time
Don’t you treasure your family time?
It sort of puts your heart to rest
Devoted, loved and respected
A close family is always the best
Children are taught to respect
The elderly folks related to them
They hear stories, look at pictures of
Family from which their lives stem
And of course, we all have relatives
That we never got to know
But we listen so intently to those
Who enjoyed that person so
Mom and dad with our babies
Pictures that are truly treasures
To put into a book or on a CD
Each memory is always a pleasure
So gather up all of your memories
For future generations to find
Opening up windows to the past
They can add their own family time!

Vain
At one time I thought self publishing so vain,
but now I have done it a couple of times
I am not so sure anymore.
In the past, some great writers have done it.
They used to call it vanity publishing,
but they do not call it that anymore.
My first venture was to ensure a copywrite on a poem
some people kept trying to claim as their own.
My second effort was never meant for sale,
but done as a gift for two close friends.
Something that holds a little bit of me
whenever I am not around them.
My third effort has for far too long
lain on my shelf gathering dust.
However, at the time of writing it
everyone said this was going to be the one.
Sadly, at the time Agents and Publishers
would not entertain my humble work.
Now twenty-one years later
we will see who was right or wrong.
Those who enjoyed reading it
or the Agents and Publishers who declined it.
Am I vain or Am, I suffering from belief?
Only time can tell.

Story From A Thin Wall
(DickKellyMosleyRotheryTrewavas)
The music for this song later became "Berlin"
I heard the battle raging on the other side of the wall
Buried my head in a pillow and tried to ignore it all
Every night when I hear you I dream of breaking down your door
An avenging knight in shining armour to rescue you from it all
From the family business
When I see you in the supermarket
With sunglasses in the shade
Averting your eyes from the staring questions
How were those bruises made
It's family business
Children clutching to your legs
They've got so much they want to say
But daddy's sitting home drunk again
So they bite their lips and pray
And daddy don't like no strangers prying
And noses in his private affairs
And if anyone asks from the social
Well you fell down the stairs
It's family business
So I'll become an accessory
And I don't have an alibi
To the victim lying on my doorstep
The only way I could justify
It's family business
'Cos every day it's getting harder
Try to see to go away
To all the people that surround you
You have to sit down and explain
To be the writing on the wall inside
To be the pledge you call your own
And if you run into the day
You sure you know you'll find a home
You sure you know you'll find a home
The traffic lights shine upon
... and the broken home
Everyone could be so far away
... and the white lines lead the way
The writing on the wall
They're carving out the martyrs
Could've been the same this way
Could've been the same this way
Tell them I'm the same today
We could have been much younger
It could have been much l

The income tax is a twentieth-century socialist experiment that has failed. Before the income tax was imposed on us just 80 years ago, government had no claim to our income. Only sales, excise, and tariff taxes were allowed.

Some major writers have a huge impact, like Ayn Rand, who to my mind is a lousy fiction writer because her writing has no compassion and virtually no humor. She has a philosophical and economical message that she is passing off as fiction, but it really isn't fiction at all.
