You hear a lot of horror stories about proposing and things going horribly wrong - it went really, really well and I was really pleased when she said yes.

There's A Clock
There's a clock in my head,
Tells the time.
I could stop it,
Freeze the moment.
I'd stand,
Work out when,
Things went
So horribly wrong.
I've glimpsed your smile.
Cried all your tears.
Felt all your fears.
And still,
Don't know,
Where it all went,
So horribly wrong.
May your dreams,
Show you the way.
Take you to that place,
Far away,
Where the clock in my head,
Has,
Stopped time.

Big Ward Sister
Be careful, mister!
She'll have you in her ward, her web,
The Big Ward Sister,
She'll have your soul for breakfast -
She's a giant Spider
And her words are poison
And she likes to watch you suffer -
She'll take your dreams away
Till you are horribly normal
And insincere like she is,
Fit for the world again,
Castrated, unable to feel any pain,
Horribly healthy, horribly sane! !

Wondrous Stories
I awoke this morning
Love laid me down by a river.
Drifting I turned on upstream
Bound for my forgiver.
In the giving of my eyes to see your face.
Sound did silence me
Leaving no trace.
I beg to leave, to hear your wonderous stories.
Beg to hear your wonderous stories.
He spoke of lands not far
Or lands they were in his mind.
Of fusion captured high
Where reason captured his time.
In no time at all he took me to the gate.
In haste I quickly checked the time.
If I was late I had to leave to hear your wonderous stories.
Had to hear your wonderous stories.
Hearing
Hearing
Hearing your wonderous stories.
Hearing your wonderous stories.
It is no lie I can see deeply into the future.
Imagine everything
Youre close
And were you there to stand
So cautiously at first and then so high.
As he spoke my spirit climbed into the sky.
I bid it to return
To hear your wonderous stories.
Return to hear your wonderous stories.

Jilted Tongue
Growing up in this time,
So many things rushing around us,
We see things one should never see,
We hear what one should never hear.
And still when we know it is wrong,
We speak with a jilted tongue.
As we grow old we see again,
The truth of the wicked that has polluted our minds,
And we sink into a shadow hiding from it all,
And we try to clear our mind of hate and of wrong,
But still the past is there,
Still we remember a time we spoke with a jilted tongue.
Remember who you are as you see what is all around you,
Believe in what you are and what you can be by following what's true,
Never look at things you see that no one should see,
Never listen to the things you hear that no one should hear,
Know that it is wrong,
And do not speak with jilted tongue.

Baking
One day I decided to bake me a cake,
To fulfil an ambition I had.
I had all the things I would need on a tray
And the recipe wrote on a pad.
But as soon as I started to mix up the stuff
Things began to go horribly wrong:
The pad it fell into the blender and made
The poor cake so incredibly strong.

A Man Young And Old: IX. The Secrets Of The Old
I have old women's secrets now
That had those of the young;
Madge tells me what I dared not think
When my blood was strong,
And what had drowned a lover once
Sounds like an old song.
Though Margery is stricken dumb
If thrown in Madge's way,
We three make up a solitude;
For none alive to-day
Can know the stories that we know
Or say the things we say:
How such a man pleased women most
Of all that are gone,
How such a pair loved many years
And such a pair but one,
Stories of the bed of straw
Or the bed of down.

For A Thousand Mothers
Did you hear mother --
Saying Im wrong but I know Im right.
Did you hear father?
Calling my name into the night.
Saying Ill never be what I am now.
Telling me Ill never find what Ive already found.
It was they who were wrong,
And for them heres a song.
Did you hear baby --
Come back and tell you the things hes seen.
Did it surprise you
To be picked up at eight in a limousine?
Doing the things hes accustomed to do.
Which at one time it seemed like a dream
Now its true.
And unknowing
You made it all happen this way.
Did you hear mother --
Saying Im wrong but I know Im right.
Did you hear father?
Calling my name into the night.
Saying Ill never be what I am now.
Telling me Ill never find what Ive already found.
It was they who were wrong
And for them heres a song.

Right The Wrong
An indian woman buried her grampa in the black hills
When she was young he used to tell her
That these hills belonged to her still
And even though injustice took them hills away
One day well get them back, he said
And the suns gonna shine that day
When we say, right the wrong
Before she laid him down to rest
She heard his voice in the wilderness
Sayin I got six feet of it back
And now we can right the wrong
Right the wrong
Hear the song
Before long u wont hear nothin but the crackle of flames
Right the wrong
Hear the song
Would u rather die knowing that u did or keep living in shame
Did you hear the one about the boy just 17
Three years hard time for stealing ice cream
First offence and all his dreams are gone
How long before they right the wrong?
Right the wrong
Hear the song
Before long u wont hear nothin but the crackle of flames
Right the wrong
Hear the song
Would u rather die knowing that u did or keep living in shame
Right the wrong
2, 3, uh
1, 2, 1-2, come on
(right the wrong baby)
Far be it from me to say
It seem like we could stop the flow of snow in the sky today
But I guess the weather man he likes the rain
Aint that insane
Now sing
Right the wrong
Hear the song
Before long u wont hear nothin but the crackle of flames
Right the wrong
Hear the song
Would u rather die knowing that u did or keep living in shame?
(come on, come on, come on)
Did you hear me baby?
Right the wrong
Im 6 feet in the grave
Im 6 feet in the grave
(right right, right right)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
Right the wrong (right the wrong right the wrong)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
(right the wrong right the wrong)
Right the wrong (right the wrong right the wrong)
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust (right the wrong right the wrong)
This young man with a talented soul (right the wrong right the wrong)
Died when he wanted 2. (right the wrong right the wrong)
The [life/light]that lives (right the wrong right the wrong)
So he shall not be pitied
Nor shall the guity be forgiven
Until they find it in their hearts to
Right the wrong

I discovered that in a story I could safely dream any dream, hope any hope, go anywhere I pleased any time I pleased, fight any foe, win or lose, live or die. My stories created a safe experimental learning place.

You can take any one of our stories that we use right now, put western clothes on us, stick us out in the west and they'll work just as well - any single one of them - because they're stories about people, they're stories about things.

Can You Hear Me
Can you hear me
I must have been blind to leave you this way
It's hard to say I miss you
I can't live without your love
Can you hear me can you hear me
I know you've got the key
With you I feel so strong
Can you hear me can you hear me
Your love can set me free
I know that I was wrong
Let us try again just one more time
Let the love we found be back cause your's mine
One more chance we're gonna taste it
Now or never no time to waste it
Hold me the moonlight is shining bright
Touch my body soft tonight and tight
Your love's so strong
I'm dreamin' of you all night long
Can you hear me can you hear me
I know you've got the key
With you I feel so strong
Can you hear me can you hear me
Your love can set me free
I know that I was wrong
What I'm gonna do
Can you guide me through
Oh can you hear me
Where are you
What I'm gonna do
Can you guide me through
Oh can you hear me
Where are you
Original you need like a melody
The harder I try the bigger is the tragedy
Heartbeat energy for now and eternaly
Take my dreams and be my destiny
I feel there is a vibration
You and me as one what a combination
Love is the promtantation
Can you hear me my imagination
Can you hear me can you hear me
I know you've got the key
With you I feel so strong
Can you hear me can you hear me
Your love can set me free
I know that I was wrong
Can you hear me can you hear me
I know you've got the key
With you I feel so strong
Can you hear me can you hear me
Your love can set me free
I know that I was wrong
What I'm gonna do
Can you guide me through
Oh can you hear me
Where are you
What I'm gonna do
Can you guide me through
Oh can you hear me
Where are you
Can you hear me can you hear me
(Oh can you hear me)
I know you've got the key
With you I feel so strong
(Can you hear me tonight)
Can you hear me can you hear me
(Oh can you hear me)
Your love can set me free
I know that I was wrong
(Can you hear me tonight

Stories
Through every window, we look out
what we see on the other side
holds many stories waiting to unfold.
Stories of great achievements
within someone’s life.
Stories of gathering love
found with in open arms.
Stories of perusing heartaches
where someone has gone away.
Stories a million fold
that surround every living thing.
Stories we are not aware of,
but happen before our eyes.
Stories to share with all
from those who can see them unfold.
The next time you look out a window
try and see what is really there,
the stories that are everywhere.

Hammer Horror
You stood in the belltower,
But now youre gone.
So who knows all the sights
Of notre dame?
Theyve got the stars for the gallant hearts.
Im the replacement for your part.
But all I want to do is forget
You, friend.
Hammer horror, hammer horror,
Wont leave me alone.
The first time in my life,
I leave the lights on
To ease my soul.
Hammer horror, hammer horror,
Wont leave it alone.
I dont know,
Is this the right thing to do?
Rehearsing in your things,
I feel guilty.
And retracing all the scenes,
Of your big hit,
Oh, god, you needed the leading role.
It wasnt me who made you go, though.
Now all I want to do is forget
You, friend.
Hammer horror, hammer horror,
Wont leave me alone.
The first time in my life,
I leave the lights on
To ease my soul.
Hammer horror, hammer horror,
Wont leave it alone.
I dont know,
Is this the right thing to do?
Who calls me from the other side
Of the street?
And who taps me on the shoulder?
I turn around, but youre gone.
Ive got a hunch that youre following,
To get your own back on me.
So all I want to do is forget
You, friend.
Hammer horror, hammer horror,
Wont leave me alone.
The first time in my life,
I leave the lights on
To ease my soul.
Hammer horror, hammer horror,
Wont leave it alone.
I dont know,
Is this the right thing to do?

From End To End
Excuse me, but Ive got a request
Could you take the gag off of my mouth
I admit that Im fairly impressed
Cause youre the best at blocking me out
I believe that we werent quite done
I know its hard to hear me out again
I realize, youre not the only one
Whos terrified of life from end to end
Hey hey, can you hear anything I say
Im feeling unwanted, thats not what I wanted
And attention to me is something you refuse to pay
Cause I just cant believe the way that this
Continues to go on
I say I wish you didnt always think Im wrong
So tell me
Tell me what will it take to get this through your head
And tell me what will it take
Until you see things through from end to end
Excuse me, but isnt this the way
That things always turn into something good
Youve tried to ignore the things I say
But in the end you found you never could
Hey hey, can you hear anything I say
You search for the short-cut, you live life but for what
I love you and hope you will find the truth some day
Cause I just cant believe the way that this
Continues to go on
I say I wish you didnt always think Im wrong
So tell me
Tell me what will it take to get this through your head
And tell me what will it take
Until you see things through from end to end
So tell me
Tell me what will it take to get this through your head
And tell me what will it take
To get you on my good side again
And tell me what will it take
To get this through your head
And tell me what will it take
To forget what you knew
Just let him find you
And then youll see things through from end to end

So Far, So Pleased
So far, so pleased
I like the way u touch me
I like the way u tease
No car, no keys
I had 2 get us stranded
If u know what I mean
Big scar on my knee
Begging 4 a kiss is such a dull routine
Still im...
So far, so far, so far, so pleased
So far, so fine
I find another beauty mark
With every glass of red wine
So fast the time
Everytime I have to go, I go and lose my mind
Its hard, okay
Thats what happens
When a boy and girl dont get 2 play
So far, so far, so far, so pleased
(yeah)
(come on, come on)
So far, so pleased
I like the way u touch me
I like the way u tease
No car, no keys
I could spend the night and leave at 10:15
So far, so far, so far, so pleased
Ooh-ooh yeah
So far, so pleased
Oh-ooh
