I have this cozy house here and I get three pensions from the States. I've done nicely.

5. Pension in a State
Has anybody seen it
Through wages it was paid
To be there for retirement
Each payment duly made
Told I would be quite cosy
With a pension from the state
And when I got to sixty-five
I’d get the going rate
They took a little extra
Called SERPS to put on top
Then told us all we could opt out
And SERPS would have to stop
Each time they’ve tried to change it
We end up getting less
And now they try to tell us all
Our pensions in a mess
They just have one solution
We must now work forever
They’ve squandered all our pensions
By trying to be clever

The Amazing Yellow Daisy
I love to see the yellow flowers
As I travel to different states
It’s a very prolific plant
With all the appearances it makes
It seems to blend in nicely
With other wild flowers around
Although not so very pretty
When it lives in parched ground
It grows beneath a windmill
Adding a bit of yellow color there
Yes, strong and so resilient
But it seems to want to share
I’ve seen it too in Texas
Scattered throughout the state
It’s like it has a statement
That it truly wants to make
Yes, I love the yellow daisy
A sunflower it may be
It’s in most states that I’ve traveled
It loves to travel just like me!

We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and have gay friends in the Red States.

No More Voyage
No more voyage,
No journey.
I'll sit here,
In the cozy lap
Of my room.
The first ray of the
Sun will drip
In my winter-nibbled
Decaying heart!
I'll knit a scene
Within, day and night.
A hut, the shady coconut
Trees, my quiet yard,
The ever-flowing brook
Underneath--all will
Tell me the story of
Happiness...once upon a time
There was....a lass...
Do not ask me to get out-
Side of my home and hearth.
I'll sit here in the cozy
Lap of my eternal bliss.

Big Ideas of Things
My homework is in my dog’s stomach,
My dog is in my house,
My house is in my city,
My city is in my state,
My state is in the United States of America,
United States of America is in the world,
The world is in the Milky Way,
The Milky Way is in the universe.

America The States
America America
The States
The States
The land where my fathers died,
And where I lay my fate,
Declaring independence from big ol’ Britain,
When they came to take us back they got an ass kickin’.
America America
The States
The States
Been living it up since 1868.
We got our freedom, we got the right,
If they try to take it back then there’ll definitely be a fight.
America America
The States
The Sates
Saluting to the banner,
Of the red, blue, and white.
In a havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!

The Fireplace
What is it about a fireplace
that draws you to its flame?
Is it the warmth created
like a sun that came
and shone upon your body
with the intensity of heat?
Or is it the comfortable feeling
which makes you feel replete?
The flicker and the crackle,
the sizzle that you hear
invites your senses to remain
close to the hearth and peer
hypnotically tranquilized
quietly taking a rest
like a bird in sunshine
in a cozy, cozy nest.

The Houses
1898 -- A Song of the Dominions
'Twixt my house and thy house the pathway is broad,
In thy house or my house is half the world's hoard;
By my house and thy house hangs all the world's fate,
On thy house and my house lies half the world's hate.
For my house and thy house no help shall we find
Save thy house and my house -- kin cleaving to kind;
If my house be taken, thine tumbleth anon.
If thy house be forfeit, mine followeth soon.
'Twixt my house and thy house what talk can there be
Of headship or lordship, or service or fee?
Since my house to thy house no greater can send
Than thy house to my house -- friend comforting friend;
And thy house to my house no meaner can bring
Than my house to thy house -- King counselling King.

Nicely Polished
You don't understand 'she' who is called your wife,
And she doesn't understand 'he' who is called her husband;
But nicely painted and nicely polished is the muse of love! !
However, you don't want to be wet again like yesterday in the rain.

House-warming
Our house anew is built at last,
Despite the struggles of the past!
A happy family now resides,
With Almighty God us besides!
Gone are the days of lack of space;
The new house wears a painted face;
Born is a harmony and peace
That God-willingly shouldn’t ever cease!
The house looks cozy and gorgeous;
The cost is anybody’s guess;
God bless our house and its in-mates,
As we journey to Heaven’s gates!
Our house must turn a happy home!
All brethren are always welcome;
Let love and prayer fill the air,
And faces wear smiles and laughter!
God bless this family and house;
Let Jesus Christ be King and spouse;
Let forgiving hearts show the world
That wounds will heal, however old!
Let brothers live and serve the Lord,
As per the teachings of God’s Word!
Let common blood and flesh stay strong,
And emanate a happy song!
Let parents feel proud of their sons!
‘Let parley work better than guns! ’
Let neighbors sense Christ’s own presence,
Within the house and o’er the fence!

The proposition of an established classification of states as slave states and free states, as insisted on by some, and into northern and southern, as maintained by others, seems to me purely imaginary, and of course the supposed equilibrium of those classes a mere conceit.

House Of Jazz
Humdinger
Bell ringer
Got a nasty stinger
To slow you down
Mud slinger
Gold digger
Who point the finger
And do you down
Kickin' and a fightin' on a TV show
Lightin' blindin' in the middle of the road
Are you comin' in
Are you comin' in
I said come into the house of
Come into the house of
Come into the house of jazz
Come into the house of
Come into the house of
Come into the house of jazz
Ball stripper
Big tipper
Got a slap 'n' tickler
To make you growl
Spitin' and bitin' on a TV show
Tightenin' frightenin' givin' out a load

Whoever has inhabited the United States must have perceived that in those parts of the Union in which the Negroes are no longer slaves the have in no wise drawn nearer to the whites. On the contrary, the prejudice of race appears to be stronger in the states that have abolished slavery than those where it still exists and nowhere is it intolerant as in those states where servitude has never been known.
