It was a place without a single feature of the space-time matrix that he knew. It was a place where nothing yet had happened - an utter emptiness. There was neither light nor dark: there was nothing here but emptiness.

Nothing?

you are everything i have
the sun where every planet in me
revolves
you are every space i have
and i am lost
in your vastness

shine on me
find me
light the darkness that engulfs me
touch me
make me live again

i am nothing without you
you are the sun and i am the emptiness that surrounds
your brightness

fill me
i am this emptiness that completes
the abundance of your heat and light

do not doubt
i am the space that completes you

and this is the irony
the paradox of which without me you are nothing too

How Does One Hear The Echoes Of Silence?

silence. Does not speak, silence is dead.
it is buried underneath the mouth,
and simply rots there, like dust,
with worms. It will be the worms
that shall utter silence, but at the end
silence is devoured
and gone.

what you hear and see is this
emptiness. it has feet and walks in air.
and tinkers in space, some moods and
feelings, fleeing, fleeting,

this emptiness speaks a lot
some words turning themselves
from elves to giants to cyclops
to monsters of the universe
where this emptiness dwells

it is in my heart, always, resounding,
with lots of echoes as it reaches
the walls of the farthest planet
and comes back to me
like the twinkling of a star.

and then i am full.

Emptiness Comes

EMPTINESS COMES

Emptiness comes-
There is nothing to say
Nothing to write-

But Nothing is for me only nothing
It is not the goal and the meaning-

Egolessness belongs to saints of a certain kind
I am not a saint-

Emptiness disappears with the writing
Words and meanings come-

I suppose one will be empty forever
When one is alive
What can Emptiness give?

I have written against the Emptiness
And am less empty now for now-

Thank God I no longer feel empty now-

My Dark Dreams

I'm in the dark
And I'm lost
In my mind, screaming
Through the empty
Space, filled with no light
All I hear is my echo

I listen and hear the echo
Of silent breaking through the dark
Nothingness that consumes any light
That I don't see, in this lost
Place of empty
Dreaming, in which I scream

Soon as it stops, the screaming
High painful cry, and the echo
Fades, leaving me again in the empty
Hallow thoughts of my dark
Sleep, and wander through my mind lost
Of what I had, it was my light

What I had was like a warm light
That held me from the bitter screaming
Of the cold, it found me when I was lost
It covered me like a blanket, and echoed
Through my soul, with it I was never in the dark
And never left empty

Now, in my sleep, I am empty
The warm blanket of hte light
No longer holds me, but exposes me to the dark
And painful piercing screams
Of my own voice echoing
In my nightmares of what I've lost

I am lost
In the emptiness
Of my own pain, that echoes
Through me, and all I want again is the light
For it I scream
In my dreams, but all I get in the dark

I dream of the dark and I'm lost
My screaming is only heard by the empty
Space in my mind, where light shined, but there is only echo.

Without The Windows

without the windows
where can the frames be?

without the space
where can air be and all those who thrive

because there is an emptiness between
arms and lips and bodies

without my emptiness
what is the use of you?

without this space between us
where can we be?

this nothingness makes us meet once again
let us love it, embrace it and make love to it

do we have a choice, my dear?
maybe you, on some uncertain terms, but

i have to be honest, i have none,
i have only you.

Something Happened By Joseph Heller

Something happened
Somebody said
He didn’t know how
He didn’t know when
He didn’t know why
But he knew where
It was in the heart

Something happened
Somebody said
And everything went into pieces
No one knew when
No one knew why
But everybody knew what
For the emptiness witnessed the memory

At The Cafeteria

another long tiring day
and for a change you decide to go inside the cafeteria

you look around
there are people that you know do not know you

years have made you anonymous
in this place where once you put your roots

over there are two students
lovers you suppose since they are too close for such a wide space

whispering as usual
nothings.

you take your tuna sandwich
over a bottle of coca-cola and then you begin to take your chances

glancing outside this rain that keeps on pouring
the trees are wet and the pavements flooded

you wait, you think, you look at everyone around you
this place that you should not have entered

this life that you should have not taken
this world that they have forcibly given and now

this space that gives you nothing but this
emptiness.

You Talk It All

You Take It All - Cher
Every place we ever knew,
Just a time we held onto.
Every space that we ever made,
Just a piece of ourselves we saved.
Every light that we ever held,
Just a fire from a dark dark spell.
Every love that we ever crave,
Just a thing to be kept and caged.
CHORUS:
Ohhhh, You Take It ALL.
Like the sea takes the land from under my feet.
Ohhh, You Take It ALL.
Like the sea takes the land from under my feet.
Every dream that we ever ride,
Just a place for our souls to hide.
Every fear that we ever chase,
Just the fear of th truth we face.
CHORUS
I made journeys through light,
I made journeys through dark,
and it's the price I paid.
But i knew from the start,
With each beat of my heart,
that you'd just blow me away.
CHORUS 5 times

Early Works - Though You Are Gone

In dark streets where nothingness lies,
I walk alone and cold
here where emptiness is solitude
I find a place to weep.
I was the background other played around
the stage others acted on,
but my usefulness has ended
I’m alone to cry to myself.

The tears I shed
are not of self pity
but are of love
that once was warm
but turned like the wind when angered
to cold and harsh,
but even now I’ve lost
I still remember the warmth
and softness it once had.

Even in this desolate place,
I feel the warmth I once knew
and the tenderness
that used to overwhelm us
in our moments of bliss
though you are gone.

Every Piece Unglued

Thick with a scent,
Of misplaced emptiness...
Is this space.
A sharing of a place embraced,
I now face alone.

Foolish I feel and it is absolute.

I admit it now,
With thoughts of you...
Constantly reminding,
Are the regrets that are felt...
After doing those things,
Foolish people like me do.

Quick tempered!
And splitting my own heart into pieces.
And every piece unglued only you kept,
To hold together.
Storms I initiated you found a way to calm.
I brought harm to myself and our relationship.
My consciousness will not allow me to forget this.

Thick with a scent,
Of misplaced emptiness...
Is this space.
A sharing of a place embraced,
I now face alone.

Foolish I feel and it is absolute.
Every piece unglued with my tantrums thrown.
My consciousness will not allow me to forget this.
And I was then...
Selfish. Self-centered. Self absorbed...
And made it for you,
Impossible to continue to live with!

Patiently tolerant!
My every completed need with you existed.
Foolish I feel and it is absolute.
Every piece unglued with my tantrums thrown.
My consciousness will not allow me to forget this.

And when I asked you to leave...
Patiently tolerant of my activities,
You did.
As I hid my tears disbelieving.
And every piece unglued you held,
Together...
I knew would vanish from a togetherness kept.

Tell Me Why

That tuesday night, turned 26 and I caught your smile
laid down my life, one kiss would take me through the night
I close my eyes, I feel your touch, I see you smile
it's on my mind, it's just a dream I know, but why?
why I just can't stop wondering you're on my mind
noone tells me why, tell me why
tell me why you filled that emptiness in me
tell me why, tell me why,
tell me why you filled that emptiness in me
just to tell you goodbye
a day down the line, reality's back on my mind
yesterday's behind, the charm of love has died but why
unsatisfied with what we get used to in this life
I laid it aside, looks so pale with open eyes
so I just keep on wondering about what's on my mind
noone tells me why, tell me why
why again you filled that emptiness in me
tell me why, tell me why,
why again you filled that emptiness in me
so I tell you goodbye
tell me why, tell me why,
tell me why you filled that emptiness in me
tell me why, tell me why,
tell me why you filled that emptiness in me
tell me why, tell me why,
why again you filled that emptiness in me
so I tell you goodbye

Another One Bites The Past

at 20
i have doubts about you getting into the world
of images, but you have persisted invoking the law
of the leaves and dusts
the pages of the wind you scan
looking for the justifications of your
fate
and every word there
though invisible
has given you the meaning of this
pursuit,

without choice i welcome you
and i am opening this door of emptiness
and you shall enter it
and meet a room that leads you to a bridge
of jagged edges

there the snail with sleepy eyes
shall meet you and serve you a plate of
mongrels of your
past

you will not find it tasty of course
but you shall swallow
bit by bit
because of your hunger

welcome you finally arrive where i am
introducing myself as
a permanent resident

this is the place where we were born
this is the place where we are going to die

it is an empty place it is dark
but be glad
we are serving as light.

The Silence Is Emptiness

THE SILENCE IS EMPTINESS

The silence is emptiness
But emptiness is not peace.
The silence is emptiness
The emptiness of ‘nothing to say’.
The silence is the end of who I am.
All I began as
Has come to only this-
The silence.

In the spirit of Rumi - 66 - The dervish as a doorway turning

When the music calls to the soul’s hunger
the matzub begins to turn like a shy maiden;
then faster, faster; centrifugal force
will throw him out of kilter, off the dance floor,
if a single thought
takes the balance of his mind..

then, faster – faster – the centre grows stiller, stronger;
while the mind strengthens its own emptiness,
the emptiness that is so full of surrender;

into that great space enters
what the one at the centre of all things
wills;

the blessing,
not to know that, until one knows..

Dead Man's Rope

A million footsteps, this left foot drags behind my right
But I keep walking, from daybreak 'til the falling night
And as days turn into weeks and years
And years turn into lifetimes
I just keep walking, like I've been walking for a thousand years
Walk away in emptiness, walk away in sorrow,
Walk away from yesterday, walk away tomorrow,
If you're walking to escape, to escape from your affliction
You'd be walking in a great circle, a circle of addiction
Did you ever wonder what you'd been carrying since the world was black?
You see yourself in a looking glass with a tombstone on your back
Walk away in emptiness, walk away in sorrow,
Walk away from yesterday, walk away tomorrow,
Walk away in anger, walk away in pain
Walk away from life itself, walk into the rain
All this wandering has led me to this place
Inside the well of my memory, sweet rain of forgiveness
I'm just hanging here in space
Now I'm suspended between my darkest fears and dearest hope
Yes I've been walking, now I'm hanging from a dead man's rope
With Hell below me, and Heaven in the sky above
I've been walking, I've been walking away from Jesus' love
Walk away in emptiness, walk away in sorrow,
Walk away from yesterday, walk away tomorrow,
Walk away in anger, walk away in pain
Walk away from life itself, walk into the rain
All this wandering has led me to this place
Inside the well of my memory, sweet rain of forgiveness
I'm just hanging here in space
The shadows fall
Around my bed
When the hand of an angel,
The hand of an angel is reaching down above my head
All this wandering has led me to this place
Inside the well of my memory, sweet rain

Full Of Emptiness

Full of emptiness
Broken promises
And love turned out so sad
The hurt goes on and on
Full of emptiness
Hello loneliness
Good friends will mind
The sands of time
Have slipped through my hands
From the bottom to the top
Why he had me feeling fine
Then I took a long long drop
When he walked out of my life
My world
Full of emptiness
That and something less
And memories of him
Have never seemed to be

In Petersburg we'll meet again

In Petersburg we'll meet again,
As though we'd buried the sun there,
And for the first time utter
The blessed, senseless word.
In the black velvet of Soviet night,
In the velvet of worldwide emptiness,
The kind eyes of touched women still sing,
The immortal flowers still bloom.

2

The capitol arches like a wildcat,
A patrol is standing on the bridge,
A single angry motor speeds by in the dark,
And cries out like a cuckoo.
I do not need a pass for the evening,
I am not afraid of the sentries:
I will pray in the Soviet night
For the blessed and senseless word.

3

I hear the theater's light rustling
And a young girl's 'Oh' --
In Kypris'arms, a huge bunch
Of immortal roses.
Out of boredom, we warm ourselves
By a bonfire. Perhaps centuries will pass,
And the kind hands of touched women
Will gather up the light ashes.

4

Somewhere the red rows of the gallery,
The sumptuous chiffon of the boxes;
The clockwork-puppet of the officer;
Not for black souls or vile hypocrites . . .
Right. Put out, please, our candles
In the black velvet of worldwide emptiness,
The sloped shoulders of blessed women still sing,
But you won't notice the night sun.

There Is A Time When One Has Nothing Inside

THERE IS A TIME WHEN ONE HAS NOTHING INSIDE

There is a time when one has nothing inside
No birds sing
No longings demand their realization
Only the endless emptiness
Of what one has never been
The endless ambition to be
Without knowing what to be
Nothing inside
Endless hopelessness
Little fear
Waiting
No poem either
Nothing inside
But only
Emptiness
And more Emptiness
Like these lines
So small
So pathetic
So unworthy of ‘Poetry’
As if one’s life too
Were a meaningless passing of nothingness to nothing else.

Honestly

I believe
I believe
I believe
I believe the love you talk about with me
Is it true, do I care
Honestly, you can try to wipe the memories aside
But its you that you erase
cause theres no place that I could be without you
Its too far to discard the life I once knew
Honestly, all the weather storms are bringing
Are just a picture of my dreams
cause when I think of you as mine
And allow myself with time
To lead into the life we want
I feel loved, honestly
I feel loved, this honestly
I believe you mean the best that life can bring
I believe in it all
Honestly, you can try
Your heart is just as long as mine
Is it ours to let go
cause theres not place that I could be without you
Its too dark to discard the life I once knew
Honestly, a single wrong is not enough
To cover up the pain in us
cause when I think of you as mine
And allow myself with time
To lead into the life we want
I feel loved, honestly
Ill make a joke so you must laugh
Ill break your heart so you must ask
Is this the way to get us back
I dont know, honestly
I dont know, this honestly
Theres no place that I could be without you
Honestly
Theres no place that I could be without you
Theres no place that I could gleam without you
Theres no place that I could dream without you
Theres no place that I could be without you
Honestly
