Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Brothers

Lets get to the point now
Just because weve got the same mum and dad
That dont mean im your keeper
That dont mean I owe anything to you
You dont care for me
And man I dont think that much of you
Cause were brothers brothers brothers
I dont approve of anything you do
Cause were brothers brothers brothers
Cain and abel and me and you
You drove my car when we were young boys
And you tore it up too
You never paid to get it fixed
And you got me beat up a time or two
I know I should forgive and forget
But man I still hold a grudge against you
Cause were brothers brothers brothers
I dont approve of anything you do
Cause were brothers brothers brothers
Cain and abel and me and you
It is as normal as it can be
This sibling rivalry
We should have dropped it at 22
But man I cant stand the things you do
Cause were brothers brothers brothers
Youre always want something from me
Cause were brothers brothers brothers
It was so much fun having you in the family
Cause were brothers brothers brothers
Now that were grown it aint helped nothin? at all
Cause were brothers brothers brothers
On my birthday, please dont bother to call
Cause were brothers brothers brothers
Brothers brothers brothers
Yeah, youre my brother brother brother
Brothers brothers brothers
Yeah, were brothers brothers brothers
Yeah, were brothers brothers brothers
Brothers brothers brothers

Easier to Digest

Civil unrest
Civil war
Civil chaos
Or...
My personal favorite,
Civil disobedience!

Which of these has more flavor...
And yet caffeine free?
More taste,
And yet less filling?

'I vote we go with civil unrest!
It's easier to digest...
And maintains that robust appeal.'

Now we are getting somewhere!
And you George...
What would you like?

No rocks! ~

Ask My Mother

My eyes are red
Yet I did not smoke hemp
I have never been a smokered
Neither am I a drinkard.
But I am red in anger
Anger for my leaders.
.
They have have failed me,
They failed many a youth like me
Yes we are heading for a revolution
Revolution for a dying nation.
Ask my mother
She was here before my father.
.
When the white came
They killed my father
My sisters they raped.
They bent my brothers
Unto fields of foreign lands.
.
And I grown to know
They importants of freedom.
And I fought, me and my comrades
Again and again,
And then, the white,
They went away.
.
And then I picked them up
We picked them from the ground
Me and my brothers,
We made them our leaders
But they ended up making
themselves rulers.
.
Ask my mother, she has always
been here,
She was here when the white came,
She was also here when when they left.

The Lust We Fought For

The lust we fought for in now just a pile of ash.
The lust we fought for was a lie to it's very last.
The lust we fought for burns in my memory every night.
The kust we fought for wasn't worth it's own right.
The lust we fought for seemed so out of control.
The lust we fought for only needed us to grab ahold.
So the lust we fought for wasn't lust at all.
Indeed it was love that made our great fall.
The lust we fought for keeps me crying at night.
The lust we fought for has me praying to turn it right.
The lust we fought for makes me miss you more.
The lust we fought for broke my heart to it's core.
The lust we fought for brings out a million tears.
The lust we fought for challenged all of my fears.
So the lust we fought for was the pain i deserved to face.
Indeed it was love from that magically beautiful place.
The lust we fought for is now gone up in flames...
Because I now know that the lust we fought for was real all the same.

The Civil War

What in the world is a Civil War?
There's nothing civil about it.
Is it just a metaphor?
You say one thing and mean another.
You take up sides and kill your brother.
And that my friends
is civil?

In A Foreign Land

It was a matter of fact that when I paid all my tax
I held my world in the palm of my hand
And all of my debts were causing me to defect
To a land of bananas and sand
So I ran, yes I ran, yes I ran to a foreign land
Here I am, here I am
Here I am in a foreign land
Im so glad we made it
I thought wed never land
I grabbed all my cash
And decided to dash far away
Far away, far away to a foreign land
Here I am, here I am, here I am in a foreign land
Goodbye to all of the rich mans daughters
Goodbye to my debts now Im way cross the water
Far away, far away in a foreign land
Here I am, here I am here I am in a foreign land
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
Please tell my mother and all my ex-lovers
That Ive finally made the grade
Please tell my debtors and the money collectors
That all of my bills will be paid some day
Im away, Im away, far away in a foreign land
Goodbye champagne and caviar set
I wanna slum and drink all the rum I can get
Im away, Im away in a foreign land
Here I am, here I am, here I am in a foreign land
But Im all out of my jack and I cant go back
Im away, far away, far away in a foreign land
La la la la la la
La la la la la la

Also Love Those Foreign Others

Your world view.
And my world view,
Are two world views...
With many more too!

And their world view.
Is not our world view.
But unlike you...
Regardless of what's in our minds to think.
We ought to get together.

Respect our sisters and our mothers.
Our fathers and our distant brothers.
And also love those foreign others,
To us.
Who are like sisters and our brothers.
To us.
We've got to one day get together.
And not fuss.
To make our lives together better.

Your world view.
And my world view,

And their world view.

And also love those foreign others,
To us.
Who are like sisters and our brothers,
To us.
We've got to one day get together.
And not fuss.
To make our lives together better.
Loving with a trust.

Respect the sisters and the mothers.
Do it we must.
Our fathers and our distant brothers.
Do it we must.

Proud American Soldier

Proud American Soldier
(God bless and keep safe our fighting men and women in harm’s way)

I fought beside my brothers, as they died on foreign shores,
I’m proud to say, we fought and slay, our enemies by the scores.

One by one, we fought and won, wars down through the ages,
The history books are written with our blood stains on the pages.

Our skin is many colors, we are women and we’re men,
We stand up to injustices no matter where or when.

I’m a Proud American Soldier, my job’s to keep us free,
I ply my timeless trade so far away, across the sea.

When others cringe and cower, you’ll find us standing tall,
We’ll remain steadfast until the last, of the evil tip and fall.

Come what may, get in our way, we’ll never cut and run,
We’ll stay our course, with no remorse and it ain’t always fun.

We’re the sailors that go out to sea, we’re the pilots in the sky,
We’re the grunts out in the fox holes, and we all know that men die.

I’m a Proud American Soldier, my job’s to keeps free,
I ply my timeless trade so far away, across the sea.

They spoke kindly of my enemies, the same day that I died,
Then burned my flag in protest, as my widow watched and cried.

But don’t you worry much my friends, nor shed a tear for me,
There’s more where I come from, to fight and keep you free.

Freedom isn’t free dear friends, we foot the bill in blood.
We die in the desert sand and in the jungle’s mud.

I’m a Proud American Soldier, my jobs to keep us free,
I ply my timeless trade so far away across the sea.
I may be just a soldier, but that’s just fine by me.

Shadow Boxing

the war on drugs
the war for correctness
the war on terror
fought with the weapons of
drugs
terror
blatant inhumanity
it's a war alright
a war against freedom
fought from the inside
against itself
a cancer
that can only be cured
with civil action
while we still have the option
this country runs on business
we have no time for the considerations
of the individual
what are you going to do about it
myself
i am working on the morning after pill
for groutesque unwise congress
again cheers across the pond
for the workers
and cheers for tony
for whatever it's worth
it's the best thing you've done in a while
you have regained a shred of dignity

The Foreign Drunk

When you get tight in foreign lands
You never need go slinking,
No female neighbours lift their hands
And say “The brute!—he’s drinking!”
No mischief-maker runs with smiles
To give your wife a notion,
For she may be ten thousand miles
Across the bounding ocean.

Oh! I’ve been Scottish “fu” all night,
(O’er ills o’ life victorious),
And I’ve been Dutch and German tight,
And French and Dago glorious.
We saw no boa-constrictors then,
In every lady’s boa,
Though we got drunk with Antwerp men,
And woke up in Genoa!

When you get tight in foreign lands,
All foreigners are brothers—
You drink their drink and grasp their hands
And never wish for others.
Their foreign ways and foreign songs—
And girls—you take delight in:
The war-whoop that you raise belongs
To the country you get tight in.

When you get tight in a foreign port—
(Or rather bacchanalian),
You need no tongue for love or sport
Save your own good Australian.
(A girl in Naples kept me square—
Or helped me to recover—
For mortal knoweth everywhere
The language of the lover).

When you get tight in foreign parts,
With tongue and legs unstable,
They do their best, with all their hearts
And help you all they’re able.
Ah me! It was a happy year,
Though all the rest were “blanky,”
When I got drunk on lager beer,
And sobered up on “Swankey.”

Life chess

It was like yesterday
that I saw two soldiers
play a game of chess,
both were just pawns
in the hands of an evil being.

They fell from the board
and were placed horizontal
right next to it,
as if their existence
didn’t really matter.

Their lives were wasted
and somewhere back in the states
their status changed to the departed,
before the game of war
had really started.

It was like yesterday
that I saw two soldiers die,
shot out of their vehicle
by a rocket propelled grenade
and splattered, scorched and burnt.

Without choice I was part of the game
and just the Lord knows
from where true courage came
and at times I and my brothers
fought the fight
to the best of our ability.

Today peace reigns
and the game is over and done
and all my brothers have gone,
but at times it all again
becomes real to me
and forever I am at war
with the demons in my soul.

I Fought Piranhas

Well i hold the rope
and i hold the sail
and i kept my papers
to keep from land in jail
and i fought piranhas
and i fought the cold
there was no one with me
i was all alone
Well it's easter morning now
and there's noone around
so i unroll the cement
and walk into the town
there was noone with me
and i was all alone
and i fought piranhas
and i fought the cold
Well you know what it's like
i don't got to tell you
who puts up a fight
walking out of hell now
when you fought piranhas
and you fought the cold
there's nobody with you
and you're all alone
