Undoubtedly, there are members of the former regime that are cooperating in some fashion and then there are extremists that are within Iraq that are cooperating with them.

Think

Think sound
Leaves rustling
Birds chirping
Waterfall
Or silence

Think friends
Helping hands
Loyal
Honest
Or enemies

Think peace
Cooperating
Sharing
Fairness
Or war

Think people
Miracles
But not perfect

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.

The question is not whether we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists we will be... The nation and the world are in dire need of creative extremists.

I do not agree with the extremists of either the left or the right, but I think they should be allowed to speak and to publish, both because they themselves have, and ought to have, rights, and once their rights are gone, the rights of the rest of us are hardly safe. Extremists typically want to squash not only those who disagree with them diametrically, but those who disagree with them at all. It seems to me that in every country where extremists of the left have gotten sufficiently in the saddle to squash the extremists of the right, they have ridden on to squash the center or terrorize it also. And the same goes for extremists of the right. I do not want that to happen in our country.

Laugh or Weep, Weep or Laugh

Those masks of Comedy and Tragedy
that hang over theatre doors and stages
go back to those two Greek philosophers,
the one, who wept at the follies of mankind,
the other, who laughed at those same follies…

In order to justify the invasion of Iraq
in 2003, on the other grounds to ‘regime change’,
i.e. that Iraq had ‘wep-ma-struc’ in Bush-speak,
the federal government has made public
48,000 boxes of papers captured from Iraq.

These include instructions on how
to make an atomic bomb.

I Don't Need You

vs.1 I'm not sure about this whole thing.
Why do you keep coming at me?
It just won't work out, me and you.
I can't believe that you are so true!
(chorus)
Please, tell me, oh,
Please tell me
That you're not.
Yeah, and tell me,
Oh, tell me
I'm not hot.
I already know a guy, go away,
I don't need you, yeah, yeah, oh,
I don't need you.
vs.2 You've got a girl with you still.
She keeps you busy at your own will.
Yet, you are not stopping with me.
You keep at it, and you'll see..
(chorus)
vs.3 Now, you better, yeah, agree.
That you are not the love for me.
Thank you for cooperating.
Yeah, you fly away with everything.
(chorus)
(guitar/drum solo)
(chorus)
Bridge: I'm glad we finally
Agreed to work all of this out.
Because now all I wanna do
Is to just scream and shout!
(chorus) x2
Oh, I don't need you!
Yeah, yeah, oh, I don't need you, baby!
Yeow!

Wars Destroy Wealth

Some people who would not think of
throwing cash into a fireplace
support warmonger candidates.
Everyone knows war is
governmental murder on a mass scale.
Wars destroy wealth.
As the Bush regime has started
fires with bombs in Iraq
and Afghanistan,
the National Guard is in Iraq
and not fighting fires at home.

Saddam's Legacy

Saddam’s Legacy

A million Christians
Lived in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq
Now they have left
Save for a few hundred souls
Yet their plight goes unheard
Heed the echo
Of the loser of you war games
Christians yet Arabs
Fleeing the land of their heart
Unprotected and betrayed
This useless war
Fought for vain glory by us
Have we lost honor
Wallowing in extreme hubris
Future generation will pay the prize
Saddam Hussein
Was a bulwark against extremists
We hung him
Iraq is defenseless now
And al Qaida has a free run.

Given my last position, that I was the first U.S attorney post 9/11 in New Jersey, I understand acutely the pain and sorrow and upset of the family members who lost loved ones that day at the hands of radical Muslim extremists. And their sensitivities and concerns have to be taken into account.

The Rainbow Gathering

We were not there,
But we really hope our impression can be fair...
We simply got a view
From a read on 'The Rainbow Gathering'.
Now we'd like to share
How they joined that community
For some days of cooperative living.

They all came from different states,
Made their way across thousands of miles,
Joining people of all ages and styles,
Just wanting to celebrate The Independence Day -
Focusing on mutual learning,
Cooperating in a friendly way.

Volunteers moved to and fro...
After cooking their tasty food
They served it, and everyone whooped: 'OH! '

It was a huge human circle of thousands,
Devoted people feeling the power of meditation,
Then thanking God for their (multi) national commemoration!

The event was coming to its end...
They cared for the state of the land,
Clearing it of all litter.
The bare earth they decided to re-seed
To guarantee a better life to every KID!

Well, first, the situation in Afghanistan is much better than it was. But there is no comparison between Afghanistan and Iraq. Iraq has a bureaucracy, Iraq has wealth. Iraq has an educated class of people who are positioned to come in and take over.
