I would suggest, merely as a metaphor here, but also as the basis for a scientific program to investigate the computational capacity of the universe, that this is also a reasonable explanation for why the universe is complex.

In this metaphor we actually have a picture of the computational universe, a metaphor which I hope to make scientifically precise as part of a research program.

A universe with a God would look quite different from a universe without one. A physics, a biology where there is a God is bound to look different. So the most basic claims of religion are scientific. Religion is a scientific theory.

If you take a more Darwinian point of view the dynamics of the universe are such that as the universe evolved in time, complex systems arose out of the natural dynamics of the universe.

God as Metaphor
God is the metaphor
for a random universe.
And the scientific savants
are busy untangling bits
of order from the chaos.
This is their attempt at
becoming Gnostic

One Song
I am the universe
The sun, the moon and sea
I am the energy
4 that is what I believe
I can be contradiction
Cuz that is all I see
But I am the universe
And the universe is me
I am the one song (Ah yes)
And that one song is free
All things come from this one song (Yes they do, uh)
The garden and the tree
If everything, everything is present
What is will always be
This here is the first and the last song
And all that come between
When language falls like a wounded soldier
And it's covered by the sea
All the sadness
All these unanswered questions
Keep me company
(Company, company, company come 2 me, come 2 me please!)
Here at the center of it all
(I know)
I know that U can only come from me
(I am the universe)
Yes it will, oh, yes it will
(The sun, the moon and sea)
Where else is it gonna come from but me?
(I am the universe)
Oh my, my my my my my my my universe
(The universe is me)
(I am the universe)
(The sun, the moon and sea)
(I am the universe)
(We are the universe) {x2}
(The universe is me)
One truth (One truth)
One song (One song)
One energy

When people ask me if a god created the universe, I tell them that the question itself makes no sense. Time didn’t exist before the big bang, so there is no time for god to make the universe in. It’s like asking directions to the edge of the earth; The Earth is a sphere; it doesn’t have an edge; so looking for it is a futile exercise. We are each free to believe what we want, and it’s my view that the simplest explanation is there is no god. No one created our universe, and no one directs our fate. This leads me to a profound realization; There is probably no heaven, and no afterlife either. We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe, and for that I am extremely grateful.

The Universe Is Stranger
THE UNIVERSE IS STRANGER
The universe is stranger
Than the Strangeness we now know-
Its stranger than the Strangeness
The past has so far shown.
The universe is Stranger
Than Strangeness will ever be
It has within itself its own –
Unpredictability.
We cannot know
Cannot suggest
But one day it may well express
Its essence as
God’s Greatest Guess.

Mystery and Secret
Where is the mystery
Where is the secret
Life is a bet
We are our mate
We must be truthfull
Within us
We embodied entire universe.
Come and sing
The glory of the universe
Come and see
Multicolored
Multifacted universe
Declared we are for us.
We know the purpose
We know how to depict the universe
And we know the universe is
Within us
It is the mystery
It is the secret
We have with us.

It's also a reasonable scientific program to look at the dynamics of the standard model and to try to prove from that dynamics that it is computationally capable.

On The Day Of Solar-eclipse
on this day of near total eclipse
i confine myself to indoors and brood
the scientific explanation vis-a-vis
my grandma's account of serpents
feasting away on the sun...
any day, i prefer the granny's account
for once it reaffirms my belief that
none is a constant victor
none the constant vanquished
and that even in our intriguing universe
tables do get turned...

Back Into The Universe
This is your God repeat
As we wander back into the universe
We render ourselves into a higher plane
Believing we will never wonder why again
He surely must be laughing mr universe
Seeing us slowly head towards our goal
Only the joke is we dont know what it is at all
Yet our gods teach us divinity
And we go on searching for you and me
As for the universe
This is your god
The orders truly random in the universe
And where will we be in a thousand years
Soothingly searching to allay our fears
Well now weve wandered backwards to eternity
Were changing the concept of belief in time
Re arranging the clock that dictates our minds
Yet our gods teach us divinity
And we go on searching for you and me
As for the universe
This is your god
As for the universe
This is your god
This is your god

Man is but a reed, the most feeble thing in nature, but he is a thinking reed. The entire universe need not arm itself to crush him. A vapour, a drop of water, suffices to kill him. But if the universe were to crush him, man would still be more noble than that which killed him, because he knows that he dies and the advantage which the universe has over him; the universe knows nothing of this.

They Say The Universe Will Expand So Fast
THEY SAY THE UNIVERSE WILL EXPAND SO FAST
They say the Universe will expand so fast
That no place will remain in touch with anyplace else
They say the universe will explode on itself
And leave us in another universe- parallel to this
They say the universe began so long ago
It has not begun
They say there is no universe- but a multiverse
They say the multiverse which we a part of
Has more than one tomorrow
And that where we are going
Is such a surprise
That we cannot possibly even begin to guess at it
They say the future
Is if not a miracle
Than a kind of Distant Dream so far from us
It cannot possibly connect to what we are and would be.
They say all all kinds of things
They don’t believe themselves.
They don’t know what to tell us
And we don’t know either
We live in our small space and time
And when our end comes
It will come
We pray to God
And don’t know if God will answer us in the end
But we pray
We hope
We don’t know for certain
Who and what we will become is unknown to us
But we pray God will save those we love

Talking To The Universe
Hey, yoko!
Imagine a grapefruit and squeeze it on me.
Ah!
You say mustnt do this and that,
You say cant do this and that
While youre losing your pants in a bullet-proof car,
Losing your hair in a downtown bar.
Oh, forget it, just forget it,
Its the curse, youre my curse, it could be worse.
Im just talking to the universe,
Im just talking to the universe,
Im just talking to the universe,
Im just talking to the universe,
Ooh - listen!
You say mustnt have this and that,
You say cant have this and that
While youre losing your apple and squeezing our balls,
Losing your mind and crawling up the walls.
Oh, forget it, just forget it,
Its the curse, youre my curse, it could be worse.
Im just talking to the universe,
Im just talking to the universe,
Ooh -
Im just talking to the universe,
Im just talking to the universe,
Ooh - listen!
Ooh -
Oh yeah, do you wanna touch me, oh yeah
Do you wanna break your mind, boy?
?
Youre a dildo, Im a whore,
Im a barbie, youre a hore.
Living in a glass house, having fun,
Lying in a glass house watching the sun.
Forget it, just forget it,
Its the curse, you are my curse, it could be worse.
Im just talking to the universe,
Im just talking to the universe,
Im just talking to the universe,
Im just talking to the universe,
Ooh -
Ooh -
Ooh -
Ooh -
Ooh -
Ooh -.......

This Universe
this universe, my friend,
is nothing but myself,
you tell me once,
the universe is seen as a grain
of sand,
now, i am truly a grain of sand,
not for the smallness of it
or the numbness of the
sandness of the sand,
nope, my friend, this universe
is nothing but myself,
when i go, it goes with me
when i close my eyes
everything disappears
you must tell me that it shall remain
as your universe
i shall understand
