The key thing is, even if you only have a couple of hours a month, those two hours shoulder-to-shoulder, next to one student, concentrated attention, shining this beam of light on their work, on their thoughts and their self-expression, is going to be absolutely transformative, because so many of the students have not had that ever before.

It's a shame that the only thing a man can do for eight hours a day is work. He can't eat for eight hours; he can't drink for eight hours; he can't make love for eight hours. The only thing a man can do for eight hours is work.

Four hours of makeup, and then an hour to take it off. It's tiring. I go in, I get picked up at two-thirty in the morning, I get there at three. I wait four hours, go through it, ready to work at seven, work all day long for twelve hours, and get it taken off for an hours, go home and go to sleep, and do the same thing again.

The Runners Of Time
the fact is
you are short of the hours
but you keep running just the same
hoping to
be with it shoulder to shoulder
the days are Olympiads
they zoom out
you give up
sit on the grass and let
the sun
burn you down
those that pass by you
too
are caught red-handed by
all the fears

On My Shoulder
SHANE
Nah nahnah nah nahnah
All around the world
All around the world
Someone needs somebody
Let it be a shield
All around the world
All around the world
Someone's feeling lonely
But I know you never will
ALL
Cause when it all gets too much
Put your head down on my shoulder
A little warmth when it gets colder
Now I don't know the things that you're going through
But you can put your head down
On my shoulder
Where the storm is it blows over
I know you're there for me too
No I'll be there for you
BRYAN
You're waiting for a change
You're waiting for the day
When all that you remember is with you once again
There's a long road ahead
Stretches out for miles
And if you want some company
Walk with me a while
Ohh and when the road gets too rough
ALL
You can put your head down on my shoulder
A little warmth when it gets colder
I don't know the things that you're going through
But you can put your head down
On my shoulder
Where the storm is it blows over
I know you're there for me too
So I'll be there for you, for you, for you, yeah, oooh
SHANE
When it all..gets... too... much...
ALL
Put your head on my shoulder, on my shoulder
Your head on my shoulder, on my shoulder
Put your head on my shoulder, now
Oooh, you can put your head on my shoulder
Put your head on my shoulder
Put your head on my shoulder, now
Oooh, put your head on my shoulder
A little warmth when it gets colder, Put your head on my shoulder
I don't know the things that you're going through, Put your head on my shoulder
Baby, put your head on my shoulder
Where the storm is it blows over, Put your head on my shoulder
I know your there for me too, Put your head on my shoulder
So I'll be there for you

The Best Time Of The Day
Cool summer nights.
Windows open.
Lamps burning.
Fruit in the bowl.
And your head on my shoulder.
These the happiest moments in the day.
Next to the early morning hours,
of course. And the time
just before lunch.
And the afternoon, and
early evening hours.
But I do love
these summer nights.
Even more, I think,
than those other times.
The work finished for the day.
And no one who can reach us now.
Or ever.

In Memory of an Old Man
he was an old man then...
6 foot 4, still strong
as an ox...
a carpenter...
and i was his helper;
building interstate bridges
in the south,
walking i-beams,
60 foot off the ground...
2.50 an hour!
we used to go
to his house
after work...
he'd scramble a dozen
eggs, or so...
and break out the sugarhead.
we'd spend hours
listening to him talk
about women, fighting,
loving, and just life!
carrying a sheet of plywood
on a windy day...
i wavered, one foot off the beam.
i felt his gnarled hand
grab my shoulder:
'you dont wanna go down there, boy! '
time has passed, and now i'm old...
and i see my daughters
wavering on the beam...
and i catch myself saying:
'you dont wanna go down there, girl! '

Find Another Shoulder
I told you babe once before
Dont want you hangin around my door
You better find another shoulder
Find another shoulder
Find another shoulder
cause honey, I dont love you anymore.
I told you babe, youre no good,
Dont want you messin up my neighborhood.
You better find another shoulder
Find another shoulder, babe
Find another shoulder
cause honey, I dont love you anymore.
Ah, heres your ticket for the coast, start light,
Leave here baby, stay out of sight.
You better find another shoulder
Find another shoulder
Find another shoulder
cause honey, I dont love you anymore.
Find another shoulder
Find another shoulder
You better find another shoulder
cause honey, I dont love you anymore.
I told you baby, once before
Dont want you messin outside my door
You better find another shoulder
Find another shoulder
Find another shoulder
cause honey, I dont love you anymore.

Over The Shoulder
Big size, small size
Any size, round and round
We need, we take
Burn it all to the ground
Started over and learned to walk
We teach you how to talk
Please try and understand
Were helping all mankind
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We are serious
O, serious
Dollar here, dollar there
Dollars flying everywhere
Were only here to please
Stop the killing, trust me
Well only be a while
Big while, big big smile
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We have in our hands
Every woman and every man
Things are gonna go far
Down a real big fast car
And what you see is what you get
Keep em hungry, you bet
You need security
To keep you from the enemy
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We use them a while then its over the shoulder

Angel On My Shoulder
Written by natalie cole and richard marx
I never thought Id ever make it, I cant believe the hell Ive been through
Couldnt see the light at the end of the tunnel, I didnt know what to do
Ive been through the rain, Ive been through the fire
There was something that I never knew
Chorus
I had an angel on my shoulder, with a plan for me divine
Must be an angel on my shoulder, who was right there all the time
(angel, must be an angel) this world can be so cold and so heartless
Its hard to find your way alone, I used to run so fast, no one could catch me
I couldnt find the way back home, but Ive laughed, Ive cried
I almost died, but my broken heart just never knew
Chorus
I had an angel on my shoulder, with a plan for me divine
Got to be an angel on my shoulder, who was right there
Right there all the time, everybody needs someone to cling to
With an unchanging love, I finally found a hand to hold on to
A shelter to run to, now I see hes watching over me
Chorus
(angel on my shoulder, angel) Ive got an (angel on my shoulder)
Angel on my shoulder, with a plan for me divine
Got to be an (angel on my shoulder), angel on my shoulder
Who was right there, right there, right there all the time
Got to be an angel, an angel, an angel, right there all the time

So this is the space during tutoring hours. It's very busy. Same principles: one-on-one attention, complete devotion to the students' work and a boundless optimism and sort of a possibility of creativity and ideas.

Is All About You
1 hour unity,
2 hours peace,
3 hours playing,
4 hours sleeping,
5 hours smiling,
6 hours living,
7 hours trusting in your muse!
For this river is mine and yours foeevers;
And, i want to be close to you always.
1 hour smiling,
2 hours learning,
3 hours thinking,
4 hours with your muse,
5 hours teaching,
6 hours working,
But, the 7th hour comes for me to sleep with you;
Because, this love is all about you! !
And, i want to be with you always.

Black and White (Stream XV)
I have black thoughts,
It is a black day,
A day when the black dog
Coal black, hovers at my shoulder.
I shoulder the burden.
Deep in the black hole.
Black as a black hearted night.
Negative.
Stark.
Black and white.
I do not call my good days white days.
Why?
Or have white thoughts
On a white day,
When the white dog
Pure white sits upon my shoulder.
Which is unburdened.
Out of the pit,
Luxuriating in the bright white light;
White as the purest snow.
Positive.
For we live in a too white world
Maybe we should have grey days,
And light days.
Why should Black be negative and White poitive?
For me then, today is a grey day.
Maybe tomorrow will be a light day.

Little Wonders
Let it go,
Let it roll right off your shoulder
Don't you know
The hardest part is over
Let it in,
Let your clarity define you
In the end
We will only just remember how it feels
Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders,
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away,
But these small hours,
These small hours still remain
Let it slide,
Let your troubles fall behind you
Let it shine
Until you feel it all around you
And i don't mind
If it's me you need to turn to
We'll get by,
It's the heart that really matters in the end
Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders,
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away,
But these small hours,
These small hours still remain
All of my regret
Will wash away some how
But i can not forget
The way i feel right now
In these small hours
These little wonders
These twists & turns of fate
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away but these small hours
These small hours, still remain,
Still remain
These little wonders
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away
But these small hours
These little wonders still remain

This Poem This Afternoon
this poem
has nothing much to give you
some words
discarded that i
keep again
on this monitor
perhaps garbage
or dust or pieces of
scratch papers,
but somehow
i go on writing,
without any purpose
at all
in mind, just
to let the hours pass
by
the minutes wasted
for having to wait
on something else,
the next scene
another event
of my life
a meeting in
another room
a riding of
a vehicle to the city
and then
wait again for the
students in the
university
i talk much
and write too
little
for hours and hours
until it gets so dark
at the late hour
of the night
and then i go home
drive my car
no talking now
just paying attention
to the road
meeting my face
and the faint sound
of the aircon
of the car until i
arrive on the side
of the house
the gate opens
i turn on the light
and go inside the room
to sleep
on this chilly evening.

The Night Cometh
Work! for the night is coming;
Work! through the morning hours;
Work! while the dew is sparkling;
Work! 'mid the springing flowers;
Work! while the day grows brighter,
Under the glowing sun;
Work! for the night is coming,--
Night, when man's work is done.
Work! for the night is coming;
Work! through the sunny noon;
Fill the bright hours with labour,
Rest cometh sure and soon.
Give to each flying minute
Something to keep in store;
Work! for the night is coming,--
Night, when man works no more.
Work! for the night is coming;
Under the sunset skies,
While their bright tints are glowing,
Work! for the daylight flies;
Work! till the last beam fadeth,
Fadeth to shine no more;
Work! while the night is darkening,--
Night, when man's work is o'er.

Soldier! !
Stand like a soldier
Buried in my shoulder
Lies retraced
Across your palm
Your tears are soft
Like the wind
My shoulder hard
From the strain
I can feel it inside you
As you silently cry
Washing away the pattern on my shirt
Allowing me to relive
Standing like a soldier
Shoulder to shoulder
Your face is clear
And you smile,
- and I thank you with my heart.

Mzuzu academy
The school with intelligent students
Although we don't enhance performance of students
They still get good grades
As their good work never fades
Our navy blue blazers
Shine the whole campus like razors
Even symbolise our cleanliness
As the student who wears they assured faithfulness
Students are always alert
As they don't wear a uniform which has scarlet
When examinations came students work hard
To show what they are capable of doing in a card
In class participation matters
As the merit system anchors
As students are always active
As they dream big to achieve
The teachers are fair
As they are not harsh but calm like air
But do their job correctly
And make students pass neatly

Give Me Shelter
Give me shelter from the storm
I'm so cold please keep me warm
Let me cry, cry upon
Cry upon your shoulder
Wipe these tears from upon my face
In your arms a warm embrace
Take me to that Holy place
To cry upon your shoulder
Give me strength when I am down
When there's no-one else around
In your arms I shall be found
My head upon your shoulder
Oh sweet Jesus comfort me
For your love shall always be
I was bound but now I'm free
To cry upon your shoulder.

Your Love
Without me you would be crying
But when with me on my shoulder you'd be lying
For hours n hours either being silent
Or talking nonstop, without being frighten
In ur mind only me and our world
We living together and getting old
Your mind that so vast and so fast
Thinking abt our future that would last
Last for forever, things so much in ur mind going,
When with me loudly laughing n without just crying
It's because that so so so much you love me…
And I won't leave you and i love you too jan di…
The end
