Politics isn't just a game of clashing parties and competing interests. The right reason is to challenge the status quo, to serve the common good, and to leave this nation better than we found it.

Australia's Federal Election 2007
November the twenty fourth is Australia's Election day the campaign for power begin
The winners govern for three years the prize is great to win
They have in them the lust for power they campaign for their own sake
The winners set to govern big egos are at stake.
Who wins or loses Government I can't say I much care
Since from the Election I don't stand to lose or gain of that much I'm aware
Big time politics can be a dirty game and smear politics is an in thing
On their opponents they rake the muck and their own praises they do sing.
Three right wing parties competing for power will not help those in poverty
A Nation without a Socialist Party seems a sad Nation to me
In a so called first World Country in big Cities homeless people on the street
Sleeping rough and searching rubbish bins for thrown out food to eat.
November the twenty fourth is Federal Election voting day and the days of cleanly fought campaigns is long gone
Twenty first century politics is a dirty game and the grab for power is on
The gap between the haves and the have nots is getting wider by the day
And whoever wins will not help the have nots and that seems sad to say.

We must remember that politics is more than a power game. The core of politics in my view is to serve our citizens, to serve our fellow human beings.

Church Street
My friends quietly dropped out of high school.
It seemed each week we had parties for some guy
Going into jail or getting released.
It’s not that anyone thought this was cool,
Only good wishes that the time would fly,
And after twenty beers all his fears might cease.
Now that I look back, with no emotion,
We needed parties. We liked company.
We hardly needed a reason at all:
Never sweet-sixteen or graduation,
But funeral, fresh hitch in the army,
Baby soon for the sad girl in the hall.
We’d vent, catch any reason to not grieve,
Revel down days torn from the years we’d leave.

One Good Reason
Give me one good reason
That I should care
Give me one good reason
And Ill be there
Like a thief youve stolen
Like rain on a grave
Like a priest whos spoken
But failed to save
Now the air is empty
And the ground the same
Love has gone to be buried
Beside my name
Give me one good reason
That I should care
Give me one good reason
And Ill be there
Why couldnt you have told me
About your liars kiss
I cant believe youd leave me
At a time like this
And the wind is howling
And its a dying dream
And my faith is silent
While my doubts scream
Give me one good reason
That I should care
Give me one good reason
And Ill be there
Give me one good reason
Give me one good reason
Give me one good reason
That I should care
Give me one good reason
Give me one good reason
Give me one good reason
That I should care
Give me one good reason
Give me one good reason
Give me one good reason
That I should care

Security is something that serves Israeli interests and Palestinian interests. You have a common threat and you have a common enemy and it's important to deal with that as partners.

It doesn't serve an American interest. It really doesn't really serve Israeli interests - it serves the interests of the political party that's getting the votes of the settlers on the West Bank.

One Good Reason
I stand on my ground when we fight
No matter where we are
I am the sad clown with tear eyes
So happy on your own
We get some strange looks when we shout
Clowning at the bar
It seems that Ive hoped
Now I found a match from my own heart
Just give me one good reason baby
One good reason now
One good reason, I should
I should hang around
I often wonder how we look
In other peoples eyes
Wild lovers, explosive
And right above these eyes
She stands on her own ground when we kiss
Poisoning my mind
I bet that I found my match
To strike it up tonight
Just give me one good reason baby
One good reason now
One good reason, I should
I should hang around
One good reason baby
One good reason now
One good reason, I should
I should hang around
I should hang around
(One good reason)

Sonnet: Politics Personified
Fie politics, go wear a whiter shroud!
Your clothes are stained by blood of many men;
No nation seems to be of you quite proud;
Your tongue has lied and falsely signed your pen.
Your hands have been receiving bribes for long;
There is not much reprieve for common man;
All empty promises have been your song;
When will your services become yeoman?
O politics! Refurbish your makeup!
Be transparent, honest and just in life;
With friend corruption, always you go sup;
Money when earned by fraudulence brings strife.
Fie politics! Recount your past blunders;
Before the wrath of God on you thunders.

Human nature
Devilish
To serve his own interests
He can stake other's.
Virtuous
To serve other's interests
He can stake his own.

We need to become good citizens in the global village, instead of competing. What are we competing for - to drive more cars, eat more steaks? That will destroy the world.

If mind is common to us, then also the reason, whereby we are reasoning beings, is common. If this be so, then also the reason which enjoins what is to be done or left undone is common. If this be so, law also is common; if this be so, we are citizens; if this be so, we are partakers in one constitution; if this be so, the Universe is a kind of Commonwealth.

Rushing To Enter An Empty Playground
The familiarity,
Of the same game played...
By those who do it,
With routine.
Begins to lose its appeal,
When some of the participants...
Find other interests.
To leave those aging and not gracefully,
Rushing to enter an empty playground.
And with not a clue as to why,
Those who once played hide and seek...
Have sought and found,
A maturity with them to keep.

One Good Reason
(eric woolfson - lead vocal)
Gimme one good reason why I should listen to you
I need one good reason why I should do
What you want me to
Gimme some air or I cant breathe
I cant see so I cant believe
Show me just a little more
Oh oh gimme one
Gimme one good reason why I should listen to you
I need one good reason why I should do
What you want me to
Under your thumb aint no place to hide
I cant choose and I cant decide
Gotta be a better way
Oh oh gimme one
I keep making the same mistake
No win no lose no give and no take
Im just playing a simple game
And I dont wanna ask you again and again
For one good reason why I should listen to you
Just one good reason why I should do
What you want me to
Under your spell aint no place to be
Dont mess around with a fool like me
Help me just a little more
Oh oh gimme one, gimme one
Well I keep making the same mistake
No win no lose no give and no take
And Im just playing a simple game
And I dont wanna ask you again and again
For one good reason why I should listen to you
Just one good reason why I should do
What you want me to
Pull on the string you hold in your hand
Making me jump like a one man band
Gotta be a better way
Oh oh gimme one

Love 'em Or Leave 'em
Blowing'cross the universe
Like a shooting star that lost its way
Looking back with no regrets
Living tor what hasn't happened yet
Love 'em or leave 'em
No rhyme or reason
Break out to make out
No change in the season
Love 'em or leave 'em
Put out or get out
Simple survival
No more denial
Love 'em or leave 'em
Roller coaster flies oft the track
Hits you in the face, stabs you in the back
They Jake your right, leave nothing left
Steal you blind, your mind and leave you deaf
Love 'em or leave 'em
No rhyme or reason
State of the nation
Pure intoxication
Feel the vibration
The anticipation
Simple survival
No more denial
Dont wanna waste no time
I'm never losing track
I've seen il all and so much more
But I ain't seen nothing yet
Love 'em or leave 'em
No rhyme or reason
State of the nation
Pure intoxication
Feel the vibration
The anticipation
Simple survival
No more denial
Love 'em or leave 'em

Listen Mister

Listen mister I can not see
Any reason for lyin
I can see inside your head
To the back of your mind, yeah
Get it together
Get it together before you lose
Get it together
Get it together before you lose
Here I am on my knees
And not afraid of dieing
Suddenly it occurs to me
There was really no sense in trying
Yes I know it seems strange to you
But its our way of living
I cant see for the life of me
Why youre so afraid to reason
Listen mister I can not see
Any reason for lyin
Things just arent like they use to be
Nd theres no sense in tryin
Get it together
Get it together before you lose
Get it together
Get it together before you lose
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see

Escaping Weight of Truth
A reason to play the blame game changes.
With clearing eyes getting brighter,
Overnight...
With the sight of one's reflection.
Shocking revelations,
Are not received ecstatically.
And the proof is in the pudding!
But the cooks try to leave,
By exiting from the roof!
A reason to play the blame game changes.
And foundations crack...
From the escaping weight of truth.
Doing its best to leave no trace of steps left,
As a discovery too late under Sun rays shows.
