Common Ground

If you love me,

These are words we find hard to share.
Would you trust me?
Could I trust you?
Will you always want me there?
Or is this just some game called nothin goes right?
Is this just me to blame
For making these endless nights?
And who do we think we are,
Some kind of cosmic shooting stars?
No were not.
Havent got all that time.
Got to find a common ground,

Salad is Incompatible with Life
Yes, my waist is fifty inches -
Big for me because I'm short.
And yes, I like my cheddar cheese
When partnered with a vintage port.
Okay, okay, that double cream
Is always served with pud,
And cake and biscuits with my tea
Are just no bloody good
For my poor hardened arteries,
But see my point of view,
Please dear wifey if you please,
A Salad makes me spew!
I'd rather eat a bowl of air
Than crunch away on greens;

Friendship is a seed

Flying
If I fly
then I am off the ground.
If I am off the ground
I might fly too high and spin off into space
where I will perish.
If I don't fly
and stay on the ground
then I lose out on the experience of flying.
If I fly tip-toe but not actually fly
then I don't fly or soar.
and lose the experience of really flying.
If I stay on the ground then my life
will not be what it could be.
I guess flying is worth the risk.
But then this
is a personal choice
and I could fail.
So fear of failure
is my real enemy.
That I have to overcome.
Be prepared to fail as many
times as it takes
but don't give up on flying.

These are not dispassionate words of the cool
The headline still rules the editors a fool
Shall we douse out the flames or will everybody fuse
And leave us stranded here tomorrow
I heard a calling out, a cry from the heart
From the towns of cement and the beauty
A whisper its turned howl, man he didnt know
