After a while I thought it didn't make any sense to use a pick. It's kind of like typing with one finger on each hand instead of using all your fingers.

One-Finger Typist (Fun Poem 122)
I used to be a one-finger typist
and as the one finger wore down,
I discovered how to use two.
Finding that easy to score
and with the added bonus
of being able to play
chopsticks on the piano as well,
I decided to add a little bonus
and increased my fingers to three
and then on to four.
All on the same hand, I might add.
One day my left hand
feeling left in the lurch
decided it was going to join in
and my fingers typing doubled
to the number eight.
The thumbs then got jealous
and came into play.
Now both hands of fingers and thumbs
dance merrily across the keys,
but there I have a problem,
as they all want to press a key simultaneously.
Slowly words with three or four letters
were getting left behind
and I could only type words
with eight letters with two hyphens in between.
Confused? I was as well
as everything I typed became double hyphenated
and made no sense at all.
In desperation and frustration,
I reverted to being a one-finger typist
and now you know the story of my plight.
As for the other fingers,
well they got a new position
of multi-tasking elsewhere.

The Human Hand
The Human Hand has five fingers,
But none of similar size!
Yet, God put them all together,
To make a Hand so nice!
The Thumb is short and stout as well,
And moves most in all ways;
God gave it utmost importance,
‘I’m the best, ’ it says!
The Index- finger points the way,
And says, ‘I am the best;
As God had made it straight and strong,
’Tis better than the rest.
The Middle-finger grows longest,
And feels the greatest one;
Its actions though of lesser range,
’Tis not useful alone.
The Ring-finger is always proud,
It carries costly rings!
And sometimes, it has more than one!
‘I am richest, ’ it sings.
The Little-finger though smallest,
Cried ’twas sadly ignored!
Foremost in prayer, it remains,
And hence it felt unnerved.
Why fingers should fight ’mongst themselves?
Together, they stand best;
Each one is meant for a function;
Alone they form not Hand!

SOMETIMES Your Demonstrations Make Sense
Why do you hand me that noose?
Is this your attempt at comedy?
'Oh,
No.
Please I didn't mean to offend.
I know you are accustomed to saying,
'I am hanging in there! '
I thought it would be of a benefit to you,
If you did not swing too far from where you hung.
It didn't occur to me you spoke figuratively! '
You know,
SOMETIMES...
Your demonstrations make sense.
At at other times,
I wish I had kept my mouth closed.

Young Traitor
Gran said
you can come with us
to the fair
Janice said
Provided your mum agrees
of course but Gran's
already asked your mum
so it's all right
you stood outside
the school gates
waiting for your mother
to come and pick you up
and so you said
Oh right that'll be good
but you didn't want Helen
to know you were going
to the fair with Janice
and even though
you hadn't planned it
or asked for it
you still felt guilty
about going
with Janice to the fair
and when Helen
came out of school
and stood waiting
next to you
for her mother
you hoped Janice
wouldn't say
anything about it
but Janice just stood there
smiling looking at Helen
as if to say he's going with me
to the fair and you're not
and Helen gazed at Janice
at the same time
putting her hand
near yours
and you could feel
her hand brush
against yours
and then she turned
and looked at you
through her
thick lens glasses
her eyes searching you
like a navigator
looking for a fresh route
to a new world
and Janice moved closer
on your other side
her hand seeking out
a finger to hold
and she said
Look here comes Gran
and she released
your finger and ran
and you stood with Helen
waiting
knowing her hand
was warm and feeling yours
and hoping she couldn't
read minds
or thoughts
or know about the fair
and she said suddenly
giving your hand a squeeze
Here's your mum and mine
let's go meet them
and off you ran
following behind
feeling a sense of betrayal
being a traitor to Helen
in your 7 year old mind.

What He Gave to Us
I wanted to do something different today
I didn’t know what to do, or even what to say.
I had a feeling deep inside- that made me
Want to scream “ I’m alive”.
I looked around at all the beauties of the earth
And thought about all my worth.
That I was born with all five senses
That the lord had given to me.
The sense to Touch a delicate flower
The sense to Hear a bewitching hour
The sense to Smell what s in the air.
The sense to Taste the juices of a pear
The sense to See the beauty of a pearl
There is another sense that they don’t say
Such as Feelings- of love, to wipe tears away
Feelings cover all aspects of life
It can make things wrong or things right.
Feelings of passion and despair
Of compassion from one who cares
Bitterness, anger, hate and sorrow
Even those make life worth while.
There is so much that we must be grateful for
For GOD has opened all the doors.
He knew that we needed all these things
To make our lives complete.
But there was still something missing
What good was all these senses
If we didn’t have the main sense.
The sense to think and rationalize
All that he had given
That was the thing that would really
Make life worth living.

Commitment
on your left hand
you have five fingers
one of which is the ring finger
where, of course, you have your ring
now cut the other four
see your hand bleeds
leave the ring finger alone
to manage the work of your hands
that is commitment
cutting off the rest from the one you have chosen

A Senseless Night
Do not know what is going to happen with my life?
Really, I have no idea and all that I can say is that I know nothing
It is late at night and I am just typing words on the keyboard
Trying to make sense by joining these alphabets
What do these alphabets mean?
Why am I trying to pen these words together?
Sense, what is the sense behind it all?
Basic meaning of it is what?
Actually, it is senseless
I have just gone berserk and that is all I know
Is there any sense behind these words, I do not know
Sensibility has lost its identification
A senseless night awaits me.

A Seduction of Ada
It was his hand
as we sat side by side;
he waved it
as a flag
waves in a breeze.
The fingers arched
and flowed
up
down
and up again;
pausing at one time
then moving again.
I looked into his eyes
and his eyes slanted
to his hand
saying look again.
I looked to notice that hand
was spelling a name
or saying
with each finger
lettering
where I could see
an 'I'
and crooked L
and O
a V
an E
a U.
He was so close I could
feel his body move
with each letter formed.
Enraptured,
I swayed with him
in this lettering
on the M
A
R
R
Y
M
E
and the crooked finger
question mark.
How could you not
love a man like this?
I did:
and I spelled it out
for him too
Y
E
S
My fingers swayed
in that loving breeze
and does still today.
He seduced
me,
fingering
the air

I hold before you my hand with each finger standing erect and alone, and as long as they are held thus, not one of the tasks that the hand may preform can be accomplished. I cannot lift. I cannot grasp. I cannot hold. I cannot even make an intelligible sign until my fingers organize and work together. In this we should also learn a lesson.

Get on Top Get on Top
Hit me come get me I bite but she bit me
Go-rilla cunt-illa
Sammy D and Salmonella
Come with me 'cause I'm an ass killer
You're ill but I'm iller
I'll malinger on your block and
Give the finger to a cop and
Pick a lock before I knock and
Set you up to get on top
[Chorus:]
Complications of a mastermind
Last temptation of my kind
Extra planetary sign
When do we align
All in time
Right on
Get up come sit up I light but she lit up
Grass Hopper Show Stopper
The life of a Wife Swapper
Come with me 'cause I'm a big bopper
You do but I wopper
Exterminate my cause
You want to draw some straws
Be the one to see my flaws
Make me bleed with painted claws
[Chorus]
Get on Top Get on Top
Hit me come get me I bite but she bit me
Speed Baller Rhodes Scholar
Bottom Bitch And a Bottom Dollar
Come with me 'cause I'm a Free Faller
You hoot but I holler
I'll malinger on your block
Give the finger to a cop and

Nothing
Pain
All consuming
Like a fire
I can't breathe
There's nothing left
What have you done?
My hands are shaking
I can't sit still
My mind is racing
My heart is breaking
Strangled gasps
Heart races
It's all a blur
Where am I?
What happened?
Who are you?
You stole my breath
My mind
My heart
My body
Are you a thief?
Are you a liar?
Who is it that can do something so small,
Yet so large
That I have nothing left
Only pain
Only rage
Only hurt
Only tears
Only blood
Only fears
Only death
Have you stolen everything?
Or is my life still left?
I hear naught
I see naught
I feel naught
I smell naught
I taste naught
Am I nothing?
Are you nothing?
There's nothing left
I sense nothing
I know nothing
This must mean I am nothing
It must mean you are nothing
Am I nobody?
Like a myth
Like a legend
Like a story
Does this make everything I've said
And done
And felt
Unreal
Like a dream
Or a story
Or a thought
So it never happened?
You didn't make me love you?
You didn't hurt me?
You didn't make me cry?
Make me bleed?
Make me suffer?
You didn't leave me there
On the street
On a sidewalk
So I could bleed out?
You didn't hold a knife?
You didn't violate me?
You didn't kill me?
You didn't walk away?
You didn't lie?
I didn't exist meaning
You didn't exist so
You must not have
Meaning
I am not dead because
I just never existed
And you are not alive
Because you never existed
We are just nothing

Slippin' Through My Fingers
Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
I watch her go with a surge of that well-known sadness
And I have to sit down for a while
The feeling that I'm losing her forever
And without really entering her world
I'm glad whenever I can share her laughter
That funny little girl
Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Sleep in our eyes, her and me at the breakfast table
Barely awake, I let precious time go by
Then when she's gone there's that odd melancholy feeling
And a sense of guilt I can't deny
What happened to the wonderful adventures
The places I had planned for us to go
(Slipping through my fingers all the time)
Well, some of that we did but most we didn't
And why I just don't know
Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture
And save it from the funny tricks of time
Slipping through my fingers...
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Schoolbag in hand she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile

Down n Dirty
Slow talkin, the line youre walkin
Look like a viper wearin silkin stockings
You make em guess theyd be gettin the best
Cant help but wonder if youd pass the test
Kissin my fingers, you touch my face
n play your hand like youre holdin the ace
But baby when it comes around, are you gonna pick it up or lay it down
You make it harder and harder to stop what youve started
Chorus:
(down n dirty)
Oh my little rosalee, dont you think its goin on time we see
If youre gonna come with me, I bet you, I get you
Ive had enough of this comin on stuff
I feel like gettin down on somethin tough
I do believe youre what youre tryin to be
Now show me, honey, cause Im dying to see
Take it baby, make your play, well make love in different ways
I call your bluff and stand, pretty mama, hold me in your hand
And make it harder and harder to stop what youve started
Chorus
(instrumental break)
Kissin my fingers, you touch my face
n play your hand like youre holdin the ace
Baby when it comes around, are you gonna pick it up or lay it down
You make it harder and harder to stop what youve started

Run My Hand
the thoughts
in me force
me to run my hand over the font
to pen me a thought
and bond
to squat me a poem in thought
like a dream that sucks my sores
between my fingers
and thumb, in scores
of many other thoughts
by the shores
stagger my mind
in awe
as i dig my mind
with the pen on my hand
between me and slightly no end
and stuck within the same band
as the music of the tip of my pen
dance to my fingers and learn
how to write; i knew not until then

Nicky Nicky Nicky Nicky Nicky Nick Pick
You can't win the war and the battle cause,
That struggle is in your head.
And kept there seven days a week.
With no sleep there you're reaping.

And kept there seven days a week.
With no sleep there you're reaping.
All you like to do is nitpick my wrongs.
With that constant picking that you see fit.
But only you brood sucking your thumb.
Without that finger licking that you want done!

A Spring Bud
She was without her Spring
seeming born from childhood to only Winter Cold
and I was drawn to her for that reason, it seemed.
I'd hoped for a manufactured Autumn in her
from my own intense desire of it and that
could by mere exposure melt her glacial-ness
and she would then be unable to resist
the Fire I had in-born for her;
that mere proximity was translative to her breasts
to her glassy eyes, her breath in-drawn
by-passing her stony regard
and the challenge she took for anyone to reach
her inside ice-berg which floated on what must
have been the Arctic Seas her Soul sailed.
I drew near, more confused as to my being
prey or preyed and she watched me in her mind's eye
advance my hand slightly to feign to touch her's by mistake,
ready to embrace or withdraw and pretend it was all accident-
yet hoping, even if there was retreat, that a spark would ignite and breach
between the hand offered and the frozen finger-tip she offered only
in repose.
These moments, I think, a hand's touch, given or received
rejected or accepted can take the curtain back on a promise
of more or reveal the door to slam and nothing gained.
I moved my finger close, not ready yet to risk the touch
looking for a sign to see if Affection's Beast would purr or pounce;
but it did neither and from my sense from her, she too had that
nervousness first encounter's make, entreaties in the yawl between
offered or given, smile or scowl, push away or grateful reach,
or better reciprocity.
We both were extended at the finger-tip I then began to sense her cold ship
had a willingness to sail to warmer climes; softly bold, I lay my hand
atop hers
measuring pitchful signs of a ship; anchored or ship breaking moor
for the comfort of the open sea again?
But overlapping warmth, mine to her's, she allowed-didn't withdraw
and I took this from her, her first Spring bud.

Pick 'Em Up And Lay 'Em Down
She said the man's goin' home with me
She told the bar she was takin' all bets
Well never trust a woman drinkin' whiskey
That lights her own cigarette
I started callin' her baby, temptation was drivin' me wild
I think the only thing that saved me
It's just not my style
'Cause I'm not the kind of man that goes out just lookin' for a woman
I like the price you pay to keep passion on solid ground
I'm not the kind of man that holds out on a need for nothin'
I'm as lonely as any man around
I just don't like to pick 'em up and lay 'em down
Lay 'em down
Pick 'em up and lay 'em down
So we went from bottoms up to coffee cups
A corner booth where the lights got dim
We started talkin' 'bout gettin' real close
About how, and about when
It started rainin' harder and harder
I got up and with a thoughtful smile
I said, "Honey, if that ain't thunder and lightnin'
It just ain't worthwhile"
I'm not the kind of man that goes out just lookin' for a woman
I like the price you pay to keep passion on solid ground
I'm not the kind of man that holds out on a need for nothin'
I'm as lonely as any man around
I just don't like to pick 'em up and lay 'em down
Lay 'em down, down, down, down, down
I turned around and gave her one last smile
And thought about one long kiss
But that would be takin' it too far baby
And maybe something I couldn't resist
I'm not the kind of man that goes out just lookin' for a woman
I like the price you pay to keep passion on solid ground
I'm not the kind of man that holds out on a need for nothin'
I'm as lonely as any man around
I just don't like to pick 'em up and lay 'em down
Lay 'em down
Pick 'em up and lay 'em down
Lay 'em down
If it ain't about thunder and lightnin'
It just ain't worthwhile
Lord knows it just ain't my style

Pick 'em up and lay 'em down

Gotta Boogie
Gotta boogie
Gotta boogie
Gotta boogie
Gotta boogie
Gotta boogie (gotta boogie)
Gotta boogie (gotta boogie)
Gotta boogie (gotta boogie)
Gotta boogie on my finger and I cant shake it off
Well, I went out to a party just the other night
I was jammin to the music, I was feelin alright
I was burning up the floor like a disco maniac
When my woman said, baby, whys your hand behind you back?
Gotta boogie (gotta boogie)
I said boogie (gotta boogie)
I gotta boogie (gotta boogie)
Gotta boogie on my finger and I cant shake it off
I cant pick it off (uh uh)
I cant flick it off (uh uh)
I sure aint gonna lick it off (oh no)
So I guess Im gonna have to learn to live with it
I gotta boogie (gotta boogie, uh huh, hes gotta boogie)
I gotta boogie (gotta boogie, uh huh, hes gotta boogie)
I gotta boogie (gotta boogie, uh huh, hes gotta boogie)
Gotta boogie on my finger and I cant shake it off
(boogie)
Gotta boogie
(boogie)
Hey, you wanna boogie? (no man, I dont wanna boogie)
Wanna boogie? (get that boogie out of my face)
Do any of you wanna boogie? (no!)
Gotta boogie on my finger
Gotta boogie on my finger
Gotta boogie on my finger and I cant shake it off

Winters Over
I made it through.
Another winters over.
She was bitter.
At one point I didn't know if I could make it.
Yet I did.
I made it through.
Another winters over.
She was bitter.
At one point I didn't know if I could make it.
Yet I did.
Time for some repairs.
Make it even better for the next year.
I must be prepared.
For the harsh realities that bring so much despair.
I made it through.
Another winters over.
She was bitter.
At one point I didn't know if I could make it.
Yet I did.
I made it through.
Another winters over.
She was bitter.
At one point I didn't know if I could make it.
Yet I did.
Stipping off all these cloths.
I was so overloaded.
Like a snake I'm shedding my skin.
Replacing it with something better then.
Putting out my sign soon.
Home made and hand crafted.
So green all I used was my surroundings.
I made it through.
Another winters over.
She was bitter.
At one point I didn't know if I could make it.
Yet I did.
I made it through.
Another winters over.
She was bitter.
At one point I didn't know if I could make it.
Yet I did.
Still their is no single silver bullet when it comes to life.
No antidote to some difficulties.
Sometimes you must face things headon with a little sweat and hardwork maybe you'll come out on top.
Provide a helping hand to those who still have not.
Just because your better off doesn't mean so is everyone else.
