It was an interesting way to come across in my first big role. To work with Robert DeNiro was very exciting.

And I think a good writer's gonna make it interesting. From the first paragraph it will all be interesting. Just work at it and work at it and work at it.

Remembering St. Lewis
I will always remember St. Lewis
For it was the gateway to the west
It’s an exciting and bustling city
As the folks from Spanish Cove will attest
Higher education opportunities
Started back many years ago
Improvements all through the years
Created a city that would smoothly flow
The history of St. Lewis, Missouri
Is dotted with many famous men
Major Robert E Lee, for example
Was part of this expansion trend
Adorned with flowers and statues
Restaurants that make you smile
We enjoyed our interesting visit
And relaxed there for awhile
Watching steamboats on the river
Is a pleasure we all found exciting
Perhaps you too can someday visit
A city that is truly inviting!

What's most interesting and most real to me in my work is to never make the role a complete character, because then you lose a part of the truth. I can't say that this person is just like this or like that. Because you can never do that with real people in real life, so if you try that on stage you lose the truth. Since I myself strive to be able to be a great many things, I also want my character to have that very same liberty. Eventually in that way it will add to a sort of completeness. But it is the story that is told that is the interesting thing and the situations the character is in. And as we humans always are shaped by a special situation or given circumstances, I can never ever say: Thus is my character.

I now want to be playing parts more interesting to me and more exciting to me.

But, in addition, there is, all through the tragedy, a constant alternation of rises and falls in this tension or in the emotional pitch of the work, a regular sequence of more exciting and less exciting sections.

You don't say hello to Mr. DeNiro? Show the respect, will ya?
Every time I work with a European director, I find they hire the person that captures the spirit of the role. Americans tend to hire the best face. The person that looks more like the role, whether they can perform the role or not is a bonus.

It's interesting to fantasize having a man sink his teeth into your neck for sustenance, knowing that it isn't going to be terribly painful but rather very exciting.

Office Work
Work, work, work..
sitting effort,
on a chair
empty screen,
emotive stare
Work, work, work...
slunched shoulders,
side by side
warming ocean,
stolen pride,
Work, work, work...
hey man,
you man,
ant-field flys
pergatory,
promotion,
pitch-fork eyes.
Work, work, work...
college loving,
take me back,
drunk lace orgy,
primrose sack
Work, work, work...
day dream,
day stare,
simple soul.
Drop your complexity
and know,
your,
role.

I don't know if I could ever really be cast in a heartthrob role apart from 'Twilight,' which I didn't really know was a heartthrob role. I really don't feel I am one.

It was most exciting when people first came up on the stage and then when they came back for the encore. We wanted to make a show that kept on developing, that was interesting, so we tried to do that with our live shows.

It's interesting to play a role where you don't really have to preoccupy yourself with any need to convince yourself that you're not acting.

Choose the work for worthy time
The work, linked with profit is not boring.
The work, linked with reward is interesting.
The work, linked with the ego is untiring.
The work, linked with love is inspiring
The work linked with sex is tempting
Other than these, what work you do
amounts to the waste of life.

An interesting thing happened in 1989, right as I was graduating: the stock market crashed and really changed the landscape of the art world in New York. It made the kind of work I was doing interesting to galleries that wouldn't have normally been interested in it.

We always expect tremendous criticism. It is my role to be the lightning rod ... to attract the attacks against the organization for our work, and that is a difficult role. On the other hand, I get undue credit.
