I generally find an affinity with a lot of the people I play and I suppose if I didn't feel an affinity for them then they wouldn't be particularly good performances.

The closest thing to a law of nature in business is that form has an affinity for expense, while substance has an affinity for income.
The derivative
Man’s affinity with his stock
And woman’s affinity with her stock
Remain ever in spite of marriage,
Which connects them by sex,
Which lock them by their copies [children]
But which cannot make them derivative.

It is wrong to think that love comes from long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment, it will not be created for years or even generations.

Affinity
to say that i have a deep affinity for the Tibetan
people would be correct... but i also have a deep
affinity for all oppressed peoples.
for too long Americans have been insulated from
the hurt and suffering experienced around the world.
now it's come home to haunt us!
we can never forget: as long as anyone is hungry, we
are hungry. as long as anyone is struggling for freedom,
we are struggling for freedom. as long as anyone is
in need, we are in need. as long as anyone lives in
poverty, we are poor!

Dumb intimacy
In your presence I am silent
And in my presence you are.
Between us silence is comfortable.
Is not it itself a proof
That we are bound by affinity.
I am man and you, a woman.
Is not that itself a proof
That it is more than affinity.
Let us not reveal what it means,
To spare us of that embarrassment.
Let us be dumbly intimate.
That intimacy is more sounding;
That silence is more sounding.1

Unity of India
Identity brings about unity.
Unity paves way for affinity.
Affinity cements integrity.
Integrity ensures survival.
Thus a family functions as a unit.
Thus must a nation do to stay and grow.
India is the prestige of Indians.
Indians are the vestige of India.

If You Love Me
If you love me
You will give your heart
Why should we be apart
If you love me
If you love me
You will know the truth
I wasnt born to lose
And I love you
Affinity and communication
That makes reality
Understanding is the first thing
It means so much to me
If I love you
I will find the key
If its meant to be
cause I love you
Affinity and communication
That is reality
Understanding is the first thing
It means so much to me
If I love you
I will find the key
If its meant to be
cause I love you

Maybe it's legitimate criticism, though it can be hurtful. Maybe I haven't paid sufficient attention to the people with whom I would have a natural affinity as a liberal, and they feel let down by that.

Lotta people don't realize when you grow up with people, you have an affinity, a relationship you don't get with anyone else. After you're twenty years old, anyone you meet after that, it's different from the people you knew before.

A Social Call
Well, well, old Father Christmas, is it you,
With your thick neck and thin pretense of virtue?
Less redness in the nose-nay, even some blue
Would not, I think, particularly hurt you.
When seen close to, not mounted in your car,
You look the drunkard and the pig you are.
No matter, sit you down, for I am not
In a gray study, as you sometimes find me.
Merry? O, no, nor wish to be, God wot,
But there's another year of pain behind me.
That's something to be thankful for: the more
There are behind, the fewer are before.
I know you, Father Christmas, for a scamp,
But Heaven endowed me at my soul's creation
With an affinity to every tramp
That walks the world and steals its admiration.
For admiration is like linen left
Upon the line-got easiest by theft.
Good God! old man, just think of it! I've stood,
With brains and honesty, some five-and-twenty
Long years as champion of all that's good,
And taken on the mazzard thwacks a-plenty.
Yet now whose praises do the people bawl?
Those of the fellows whom I live to maul!
Why, this is odd!-the more I try to talk
Of you the more my tongue grows egotistic
To prattle of myself! I'll try to balk
Its waywardness and be more altruistic.
So let us speak of others-how they sin,
And what a devil of a state they 're in!
That's all I have to say. Good-bye, old man.
Next year you possibly may find me scolding
Or miss me altogether: Nature's plan
Includes, as I suppose, a final folding
Of these poor empty hands. Then dropp a tear
To think they'll never box another ear.

Faith always contains an element of risk, of venture; and we are impelled to make the venture by the affinity and attraction which we feel in ourselves.

Suppose
Suppose no rose would ever grow again
Suppose no brook would ever flow again
Suppose no star should ever glow again
Suppose you didn't love me
Suppose there were no bees or butterflies
Suppose no bird should ever cross the skies
Suppose the sun should never never rise
Suppose you didn't love me
It's impossible to imagine a world without a star
But imagining no you is more impossible, by far
Suppose the Springtime never should arrive
Suppose the tall green trees should not survive
Suppose I had no wish to be alive
Suppose you didn't love me
It's impossible to imagine a world without a star
But imagining no you is more impossible, by far
Suppose the Springtime never should arrive
Suppose the tall green trees should not survive
Suppose I had no wish to be alive
Suppose you didn't love me
Suppose you didn't love me

The blood matters
The affinity that exists
Between one and one’s son’s children
Would be a loosely made one
As their mother is a different blood.

Fathers-in-law and daughters-in-law get along.
Mothers-in-law and sons-in-law get along.
Between them lurks no intense enmity,
From subconscious sexual affinity.
