Thank God I arrived the day before yesterday, the first of the month, at this port of San Diego, truly a fine one, and not without reason called famous.

Eavan's Grandma
She feared the women
at the port when her
husband's ship docked
there the port.
She went to the port
to see her husband
each time he arrived
I like the man
and the wife.
'Aren't they
the same kind of girls
anyway? ' he thinks,
she doesn't know it.

Yesterday, When I Was Mad
Yesterday (yesterday yesterday)
Yesterday (yesterday yesterday)
Yesterday (yesterday yesterday) when i was mad
Yesterday (yesterday yesterday) when i was mad
Darling, you were wonderful, you really were quite good
I enjoyed it, though, of course, no one understood
A word of what was going on, they didn't have a clue
They couldn't understand your sense of humour like i do
You're much too kind
I smiled with murder on my mind
Yesterday, when i was mad
And quite prepared to give up everything
Admitting, i don't believe
In anyone's sincerity, and that's what's really got to me
Yesterday (yesterday yesterday)
Yesterday (yesterday yesterday) when i was mad

Famous Fable
The famous fable,
The famous table,
The famous stable,
The famous cable,
The famous babble,
The famous gable,
The famous parable,
The famous variable
The famous sable;
But, able to crown your love with my muse!
For, you are all that i need.

That was yesterday
That was yesterday
Someone asked me
If I had fallen astray in any particular way
I replied, ’ That was yesterday, not today’
Yesterday
I took the sunshine without making any hay
Yesterday
I allowed all my silver white teeth to decay
Yesterday
I partied and played each and every other day
Yesterday
I made friends and became the traitor who betrayed
Yesterday
I worked hard without getting my rightful pay
Yesterday
I only listened to whatever others had to say
Yesterday
I was always sad and never wore a face jubilantly gay
That was yesterday
Today is today
Yesterday I fell astray
I think it was almost every other day
But that changed in the month of May
As I got down on my knees to pray
Yesterday, Yesterday is gone
I’m free
I’m free
From yesterdays race
I’m back home in my rightful place
Life is work and not just play
Those answers came without delay
Yes but! That was yesterday, not today

Port Fairy By The Sea
For culture and hospitality it has won renown
Port Fairy by the ocean a famous old Town
To it's famous music festival that is held once a year
People from all Nations they come from far and near
Those who visit there for a seaside holiday
Of beautiful Port fairy have only nice things to say
The locals so friendly, warm and free of care
And with coastal views where beauty has never been rare
Nature's coastal beauty is everywhere to see
In beautiful Port Fairy where the land meets the sea
Most of the people who live there are hospitable and kind
As near a place to an Earthly Utopia as one would wish to find
With no signs of pollution in the clear ocean sky
And the oystercatchers above the beach sing as they fly

San Diego
I've got one thing left to say
I hope that things turn out OK
Maybe some day you will come around
Mabye we're too self-obsessed, materialistic, over-sexed
Energizers, silicone, aviators, mobile phones
I'll tell you one thing, gonna make it
Start a new life, be connected
Cause you will never see me drown, I'll build a ship when bridges burn
I don't want to fall back in, defenses down when eyes are staring in, staring in
San Diego (San Diego) that's where I'll go (that's where I'll go)
We'll watch the waves rise yeah as bodies glisten in the sun
San Diego sounds like fun
I just wanna find that place, journey into outer space
Watch the world through telescopes, send back photos to the folks
I'll tell you one thing, gonna make it
Start a new life, be connected
Cause you will never see me drown, I'll build a ship when bridges burn, yeah
I don't want to fall back in, defenses down when eyes are staring in, staring in
San Diego (San Diego) that's where I'll go (that's where I'll go)
We'll watch the waves rise yeah as bodies glisten in the sun
San Diego (San Diego) that's where I'll go (that's where I'll go)
We'll watch the waves rise yeah as bodies glisten in the sun
San Diego sounds like fun, fun
Me, myself I always burn my fears away
as substance turns me into something I can't be
San Diego (San Diego) that's where I'll go (that's where I'll go)
We'll watch the waves rise yeah as bodies glisten in the sun
San Diego (San Diego) that's where I'll go (that's where I'll go)
We'll watch the waves rise yeah as bodies glisten in the sun
San Diego (San Diego) that's where I'll go (that's where I'll go)
We'll watch the waves rise yeah as bodies glisten in the sun

Autumnal Sunday
Autumnal Sunday
Rain, it is October the month of melancholy
and you know that the blue sky and sun of
yesterday was just another foolish illusion
the cock didn’t crow this morning and dogs
ears didn’t move when a stranger’s voice
echoed in narrow streets, they knew it was
the voice of doom;
the harvester had arrived in coming month
the old would succumb to the damp breath
of death; not too many tears shed, faces in
a black frame, yes, that’s the way it is we
understand death if not our own. Dogs need
not be told, they snooze sure they are own
their own immortality

Port Burwell
About a quarter of a century ago, when Port Burwell was a
busy, thriving place, several friends accompanied me to
the port to attend a concert, we all being specially invited.
It was in the winter, and there had been a race on the
ice, in which the Port Burwell horse took the lead. We
gave a local piece of some length, but only retain now a
few lines. The people at the concert were highly pleased
with the effusion.
In winter time, who here resort
To pay a visit to your famous port,
They must be clad in fur well,
For it blows cold at Burwell.
But when you wish to trot your horse
You make lake Erie your race course,
And we believe at every heat
All other horses you do beat.

a letter from Patty and Ray
It is time for us to leave San Diego
and head back to Portland
starting on Valentines Day.
I hear it has been snowing in Portland,
I guess that rules out outdoor yoga classes.
That doesn’t sound good compared
to San Diego where it is usually sunny
and the activities included yoga,
aerobics, tennis, biking to shop,
kayaking, and fish tacos.
We have a great spot here
at Campland with a water view out front.
It is much nicer
than last year because
no one is occupying
the spots on either side of us.
We brought nicer bikes
with big baskets and racks for groceries.
The motor home only moved
once since we arrived
and all our activities
have been via bike or kayak.
When we first arrived
I hooked two ten foot sewage hoses
together and the connection failed.
We had sewage everywhere.
We called the hazmat team
but by the time
they got here the ducks had eaten
what Ray and I didn’t clean up
with newspapers.
The ducks are everywhere
and I find it annoying stepping
around duck poop.
Ray likes their personality
but I only see the poop..
Vancouver Bob came to visit us.
We had fun searching
Pacific Beach for a house
he lived in fifty years ago.
He brought the rain with him
and we realized the motor home
gets smaller in bad weather
and with each person.
Overall it has been
the best weather
I’ve ever seen in San Diego.
Ray enjoyed golfing with Bob Perry
two or three times each week.
His other golf buddy,
Malcolm died last year.
Foxy is quite the character on drugs.
She thinks she’s super dog jumping in
and out of the motor home.
Her legs fail
so we lift her now against her will.
She loves sunrise
and sunset walks on the beach
as well as begging for drugs.
Sorry this letter is so boring,
but such is life.
Hope you all have a great valentines day.

MAY' is here again
May is here again
I pray this month does not bring pain
Last month I was thinking of a calling trip
To a country God gives and they sip
Where happiness is called above
Hearts are white like dove
If I go, I may never return again
Because may has brought no pain
To tale of bountiful counts
How many followed last month in tuneless sounds
April had lodged my heart in cramp corner
A peep at the future, May can take me further
Exotic journey, April has call
In May due season my pains will fall
Might of last month I can’t retain
May is here again

This Life Called Mine
This life called mine
Is not under your shadow.
Not under your beck and call.
Not living under that,
Not living it or giving it under that.
This life called mine...
Is exactly what it is.
Mine.
And not yours to say,
When I should put out.
Or when you feel the need to put in!
This life called mine...
I call it a condo.
I own all that which is inside.
And all that is outside of me...
God takes care of.
And I'm not charged a maintainance fee.
And I'm not trying to break my lease...
Either.
Or leave unexpectedly!
At least...
Give me some kind of a 50 year notice.
This life called mine.
And I've become fond,
Of Mother Nature's wholesomeness.
Fine it is,
This life of mine.
Fine it is,
The gloriousness of it.
I'd be out of my mind,
Not to fine the life I love to live...
Fine.
And I thank The Divine.

Bruce
Doctor, doctor you gotta help me yeah
You gotta make it right for me
It seems this other mans name has been following me around
And it just wont let me be
You see I got this name and hes got this name too know
Well theyre kinda close only a blind crazy fool
Would think I was him its like saying green is blue
But let me tell you brother it started being a bother
When he made the cover of time magazine
I was at this party in the wild-hilled hills
Just the other night
Her name was shelly I introduced myself
She just smiled and said all right
Well we got talkin and drinkin wine
And she said she liked my music thought it was fine
She said, lets make love, your place or mine
And in the middle of the passion I was on the borderline
When she called out a name but it wasnt mine
She called me bruce, bruce
I can hear her calling bruce, bruce
I can hear her calling bruce, bruce
I can hear her
My name is rick Im gonna stick it to ya babe
And theres this kid walking carrying a guitar
You know I told him that I played
He asked me my name you know I told him
I said it plain as clear as day
Well he seemed really, clearly, sincerely impressed
And as he pulled a piece paper for me to sign from his vest
He said, I thought born to run was one of your best
Awww wait a minute man, who do you think I am?
He answered, mr. springsteen, your a famous man.
He called me bruce, bruce
I can hear him calling bruce, bruce
He called me bruce, bruce
I can hear him
My name is richard gonna hit it to you babe
You know my mama called me long distance yesterday
And as she got off the phone I swear I heard her say
Bye bye bruce, bruce
I can hear her calling bruce, bruce
She called me bruce, bruce
I can hear her
My name is ricky gonna stick it to you babe

I Love....
i love...
that's the reason i walk,
the reason i breathe.
the reason i grieve.
the reason i dance.
the reason i smile.
the reason i listen.
the reason i offer a hand.
the reason i see beauty.
the reason i see both darkness,
and light....
the reason i take chances.
the reason i keep going.
the reason i get angry.
the reason i forgive.
the reason i touch.
the reason i question.
the reason i believe.
the reason i am tolerant.
the reason i understand.
the reason i fall.
the reason i fly.
the reason i write...
the reason i am what i am!

July....
July is the month where the families get the barbeque grills fired up.
July is the month where the night sky is light up with fire works.
July is the month where many families go out of town to be with family.
July is the month where many kids are dreary because it’s a month away for school.
July is the month where America gets to celebrate its independence from England.
July is the month where many people are dying of the heat of the summer.
July is my favorite month because it’s the time that I get to be myself around my family.

Yesterday Is Gone
I'm sorry your situation
Has let you down
I know that things did not go as planned
'cause in this time you're feeling alone and sad
This is what you must understand
There is a way
Yesterday is gone
It's a new day
Yesterday is gone
Yesterday is gone
Yesterday is gone
My dear kay
You can't get nowhere
Staying at home and crying
You can't go on living in the past
The one thing constant is that there is always change
There is a way
Yesterday is gone
It's a new day
Yesterday is gone
Yesterday is gone
Yesterday is gone

November's Chill
For 'twas in November's month
the change of guards took place
the month my heart fell to sleep
For 'twas in that darken time
our Love slowly faded away
and in passing, our words were few.
And I am left lonely an' oh so cold.....
For 'twas in November's month
we became two ships in passing
entering port's harbour at separate times
For 'twas in that lonely state
two hearts screamed of Love
and the sheets never warmed again.
And I am left lonely an' oh so cold.......
For 'twas in Novembers month
we tasted Love once again
and like the first time I know home
For 'twas in that lonely bed
separately we lay our heads
yet in dream, you are near as am I
No longer left lonely an' oh so cold...........
