There are more things to alarm us than to harm us, and we suffer more often in apprehension than reality.

Leave It Open
With my ego in my gut,
My babbling mouth would wash it up.
(but now Ive started learning how,)
I keep it shut.
My door was never locked,
Until one day a trigger come cocking.
(but now Ive started learning how,)
I keep it shut.
Wide eyes would clean and dust
Things that decay, things that rust.
(but now Ive started learning how,)
I keep em shut.
I keep em shut.
Harm is in us.
Harm is in us, but power to arm.
Harm is in us.
Harm in us, but power to arm.
Harm is in us.
(leave it open!)
Harm is in us, but power to arm.
Narrow mind would persecute it,
Die a little to get to it.
(but now Ive started learning how.)
I leave it open.
I kept it in a cage,
Watched it weeping, but I made it stay.
(but now Ive started learning how.)
I leave it open.
I leave it open.
Harm is in us.
Harm in us, but power to arm.
Harm is in us.
Harm in us, but power to arm.
Harm is in us.
(leave it open!)
Harm in us, but power to arm.
Harm is in us.
Harm in us, but power to arm.
Harm is in us.
(leave it open!)
Harm in us, but power to arm.
Harm is in us.
Harm in us, but power to arm.
Harm is in us.
Har in us, but power to arm.
Harm is in us!
Harm is in us!
Harm is in us!
Harm is in us!
Harm is in us!
Harm is in us--
Harm in you and in me!
What you letting in?
Tell me what youre letting in.
Say what were gonna let in!
We let the weirdness in.
We let the weirdness in.
We let the weirdness in.
We let the weirdness in.
We let the weirdness in.

On Alarm
You said he was your brother
But his name was not miller
So if you wanna cheat me, baby
Youre getting a real killer
Im on alarm now baby
Be sure Ill get you if I want
Im on alarm now baby
Be sure Ill get you if I want
You said your dad is working
And you think your mothers too
But I dont love your parents
So I cant belive you

Be sure Ill get you if I want
Im on alarm now baby
Be sure Ill get you if I want
Im on alarm now baby
Be sure Ill get you if I want

Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me
Last night I dreamt
That somebody loved me
No hope, no harm
Just another false alarm
Last night I felt
Real arms around me
No hope, no harm
Just another false alarm
So, tell me how long
Before the last one ?
And tell me how long
Before the right one ?
The story is old - I KNOW
But it goes on
The story is old - I KNOW
But it goes on
Oh, GOES ON
And on
Oh, goes on
And on

Death
There are many worse things than death that can happen to you,
It’s the pain and sickness you suffer before you die and accrue,
Because death can get rid of cancer pain but what a way to go,
It’s so bad that some contemplate suicide but can’t let us know.
Because suicide or assisted suicide is illegal here,
And our politicians all look at this issue with great fear,
Not politically correct and religion is involved,
Wont touch it with a ten-foot pole so nothing is solved.
But Holland, Oregon and Switzerland already have these rights,
Though I doubt if some pedophile priest will give you the last rites,
And doctor’s Hippocratic oath tends to stress that this is harm,
But if you took diazepam would you cause some great alarm?

Hovering I Saw A Redbreast And A Wren (Roundelay)
Hovering I saw a redbreast and a wren,
who were both very scared of men
and to me both birds had some lovely charm,
as innocents to which I meant no harm.
Fluttering some cooing wild doves came down
making my small garden their very own
some pecked bread or landed on my arm,
as innocents to which I meant no harm.
Pecking some hoopoes landed in my yard
and the two of them was never apart,
fleeing in their scared heart throbbing alarm
as innocents to which I meant no harm.

Fundamental of Liar Chapter CXXI: It doesn't mean any harm
It may be provocative
It may be disturbing
But it doesn't mean any harm
It may be rough
It may be emotional
But it doesn't mean any harm
It may be wild
It may be rebellious
But it doesn't mean any harm
It may go unplanned
It may look careless
But it doesn't mean any harm
It may be a nuisance
It may be a mistake
But it doesn't mean any harm
It may be a mess
It may be complicated
But it doesn't mean any harm
It may be slow progress
It may test the patience
But it doesn't mean any harm
It may be a hard blow
It may shake the faith
But it doesn't mean any harm
It may be cursed
It may be judged cruel
But it doesn't mean any harm

Tranquility
Know that the calms of tranquility are as a lake
Harmonious and undisturbed, when fate throws
A stir into our embrace we are to suffer the initial
Repercussions, we are to learn to suffer this disturbance
As without it we would be un-able to appreciate our calms.
The rock does the lake no harm, but adds to the length of her story.
Know that even after the chaos has folded ripples untold
Shall stir their own effects upon our souls, yet one day they
Shall be calm once again and we shall know that our dismay
Caused us no harm just as the rock thrown into the depths of our mysteries blue.
We shall know when to awake from the realm of day dream fantasies.
We shall know the mask of true dreaming as a key to reality.
We shall embrace the turbulence of others passions
For only with the construction of a basin can we ever face
The world with a smile upon our face that each race could understand.
This land is grand beyond the measure of our imaginations.
Follow the wanderings of your heart, yet allow reason to guide your
Path. Laugh in the face of the fears that keep you tearful, sleepless through
The nightmare, share your loves, share your cares.

Red sky at night
Red sky at night
shepherds delight
red sky in morning
a mothers warning
protect and guide
and let harm subside
dry their tears
conquer their fears
keep them from harm
cause no alarm
the love they give
they always forgive
your life on the line
each and every time
the road they choose
will give many a bruise
be there to protect
as their mother elect

Bite The Hand That Feeds
I have no interest in self-preservation, emptiness is like an old friend.
I have no motive or any inclination, of doing anything for any one again.
I've been the patsy, I've been the fool,
I've been the scapegoat, now all of that is through.
Don't want to sit and wonder when the end is near,
don't want to know where I'll be in 20 years.
Because I bite the hand that feeds.
Easy to call me selfish, after years of nurtured apprehension.
I have no shame I take the blame, no more subordination.
I gave up my self-esteem for a false security,
and foolishly I chased that dream, that had to be force fed to me.
I play no part in hope that dwindles, reality is such a change of pace.
I see things now for what they are, and reality is such a different place.
Nostalgia such a waist of time, so much life left to live.
I can't dwell on yesterday, I gotta take as much as I give.

There are more things, Lucilius, that frighten us than injure us, and we suffer more in imagination than in reality. - Epistulae ad Lucilium
If you can't distinguish how to whistle a festival alarm from a warning alarm, then better not alarm and let s/he who knows the difference to do the alarming.
Amelia
I was driving across the burning desert
When I spotted six jet planes
Leaving six white vapor trails across the bleak terrain
It was the hexagram of the heavens
It was the strings of my guitar
Amelia, it was just a false alarm
The drone of flying engines
Is a song so wild and blue
It scrambles time and seasons if it gets thru to you
Then your life becomes a travelogue
Of picture-post-card-charms
Amelia, it was just a false alarm
People will tell you where theyve gone
Theyll tell you where to go
But till you get there yourself you never really know
Where some have found their paradise
Others just come to harm
Oh amelia, it was just a false alarm
I wish that he was here tonight
Its so hard to obey
His sad request of me to kindly stay away
So this is how I hide the hurt
As the road leads cursed and charmed
I tell amelia, it was just a false alarm
A ghost of aviation
She was swallowed by the sky
Or by the sea, like me she had a dream to fly
Like icarus ascending
On beautiful foolish arms
Amelia, it was just a false alarm
Maybe Ive never really loved
I guess that is the truth
Ive spent my whole life in clouds at icy altitude
And looking down on everything
I crashed into his arms
Amelia, it was just a false alarm
I pulled into the cactus tree motel
To shower off the dust
And I slept on the strange pillows of my wanderlust
I dreamed of 747s
Over geometric farms
Dreams, amelia, dreams and false alarms

Day Dreaming
I day dream most times
day and night
and come back to
This Reality
with a Start.
Day-Dream world
pleases me;
rich
tapestries
and there
many of my lives
converge and mingle.
Is it so wrong to live there
much of my day?
To wrap my Soul
in that world and play?
So many of the things
I love
only reside there
what harm
can there be with
loving and being with
that pleasing Reality?
Swapping day Dream World
for work
and this Harsh Life
seems
only a proposition
one might accept
who likes harsh.
I do not.
I like rainbows
and pretty things
and they
all live
and sing
in my Day Dreams.
You can find me there
by singing.

Doing Nothing (Inspired by Poet Miller Williams)
We do things
to keep something from doing something
the milk from expiring
the scale from cracking
the skin from wrinkling
the breasts from pointing south
We do things to make things happen
To remember that first kiss
not to freeze before a charging zoo tiger
to hope the pepper spray will finally work
not to see our secrets & lies
to finally shout BINGO
not to suffer a stroke while shooting baskets
But today
I will punch the snooze alarm at least 5 times
I will loafe on blades of grass &
sketch a purple passion flower
Get dressed
Get blessed
Hide the key to success

Knock.knock who's there for M 'ladyErnestine
The poltergeist, mischievous sprite
who taps and knocks to cause alarm
and can move things about by night.
A nuisance but does little harm.
It is to be found most commonly
up to his scalliwaggery.
Where one approaching puberty
creates him quite unconsciously.
He’s not a separate entity
but an extension of the mind.
Which can act independently
in some way as yet undefined.
Or so psychiatrists believe
and who can prove their words untrue
Their explanations don’t achieve
an end to what is troubling you.
A poltergeist a noisy ghost
does little harm to anyone
. His mostly unsuspecting host
often a girl sometimes a boy.
A child who quite unconsciously
expresses feelings they can’t show
with openness and honesty.
When they mature the ghost will go.
There are some things you can’t explain
no matter how hard you may try.
The experts need to think again
if they’re to solve this mystery.
But they maintain as experts do
that their opinions are correct.
Although sometimes this may be true.
Some times it is not I suspect.
For Poltergeists obey no rules
Although the experts think they do
Just self opinionated fools
who know less than they think they do.
