I wanted to be a doctor at one point and I also wanted to be a pilot. I think if you grow up in a dodgy area, reality often beats down those ambitions as you get older. But with me that never really happened.

When We Grow Up (Fun Poem 107)
When we were young and at school,
we were often asked,
what do you want to be when you grow up?
Some set their sights on being
a doctor, a nurse, a lawyer and a policeman.
Others wanted to be firemen, actors and pop stars,
there were even a few
who wanted to be politicians too.
However, no one wanted to be a writer
as what they wanted to do.
It is just one of those things,
we just seem to drift into
and once we have,
we cannot leave the pen alone.
