I won my first medal when I was nine years old. It was at the Boston Open.

When I started at the Globe 40 years ago, there were seven newspapers in Boston and now there are only two. There were only three or four television stations in Boston and now there are a dozen.

08-march-2012 336 Days Of Respect
the real man don't say 'I respect my woman'
but into the deep of his heart he ask...
'I'm really loving the woman that i got the privilege to love? '
the respect for the woman never must be show or be weighted
because the medal of this must does not be appended to breast
ma always we have doubt of to deserve it
also if the beloved with her actions
append to soul the medal of gratitude
not her Love, nor her medal
may be considered conquered forever..

To anyone who has started out on a long campaign believing that the gold medal was destined for him, the feeling when, all of a sudden, the medal has gone somewhere else is quite indescribable.

A letter to a Captain
Captain Owen
Did you find your glory?
The glory you left home for
You should have stayed
Stayed safe at home
Captain Owen
I have seen your photographs
The photographs of words
The photographs of death, of war
The same war you died in
You shouldn't have gone
You should have stayed
Stayed safe at home
Captain Owen
You deserved to live
You would've lived if you never went
And yet if you never went
We would have never known
Captain Owen
Did you get a medal?
I will give you a medal
A medal of humanity
A medal of capturing what no one saw
Deaths that everyone turned away from
But you ran to save

Should I Wear My 3-D Glasses?
Mommy...
Who are they in those cages?
'They are the ones,
Who couldn't believe
They were being deceived!
And when they discovered they were...
They went nuts.
And started roaming the streets.
Begging from those living in the inner city,
For food to eat! '
And who ar they over there?
'Those are the ones who lived in the inner city! '
How come they don't look crazy like the others?
'They've been used to being locked up.
Most of them all their lives! '
~Boston! You gotta bid higher than a 4 low,
If you playing with me.
Hey...
Bring me some chips and a Heinekein,
If there are any left.~
Mommy,
What's a 4 low?
'I don't know!
That exhibit has been there for years.'
How come their cage door is open,
And unlocked?
'Who knows?
Maybe they are just comfortable being there.
Come on.
Let's look at the new exhibit upstairs.
I really want you to see that one! '
Why mommy?
'That's the one they are talking about!
They actually have on display,
Several groups of different people...
Who are expressing affection, concern and respect
For each other.
I want you to see that one.
I don't believe it myself! '
What is that one called?
'Death of Pretensions.
It has been filmed! '
Should I wear my 3-D glasses?
'Yes! I'm glad you reminded me.
I want you to get front seats.
I want you to sit up close.
I'll be sitting right behind you.'
Why, mommy?
'I don't know if I'm ready for it.
Your young.
You can handle it.
While you are here...
I may go back to find out what a 'Boston' is! '

You never walk alone
I will walk with you tomorrow
through the streets of Boston town.
I will be right there beside you,
if you but take a look around.
I will help you bear the suffering
As you walk the sixty miles.
I will be right there beside you
In such breeze as can be found.
I will walk with you tomorrow
as your spirit proves its worth.
I will be right there beside you
though I no longer walk on earth.
It was six years ago this day
I suffered and I died.
So now my God-child walks for me
And I will share your miles.
You are walking with survivors
of the chemo and the knife.
Hear me in their laughter.
See me in their life.
I will walk with you tomorrow
Through the streets of Boston town
I will be right there beside you,
if you just take a look around.

Yeah, that's what kind of, we get the idea a little bit yeah, because other people from different countries also try as hard as they can to get a medal or a gold medal in the Olympic Games. And you know, if they can work hard, we can work hard as well.

Open Your Box
Open your box,
Open your box,
Open your trousers,
Open your thighs,
Open your legs,
Open, open, open, open, oooh.
Open, open, open, open,
Open your legs,
Open your flies,
Open your ears,
Open your nose,
Open your mouth,
Open, open, open, open, oooh.
Open.
Open your cold feet,
Open, open,
Open, open, open, let's open, let's open the cities.
Open the cities,
Open, open, open the world,
Open, let's open the world.
Open, open, oooh -
Open, open, ooh!

Open Your Soul To Me
Open your soul to me,
Open your soul to me,
Open your soul to me.
If we dont open our souls to each other,
Theres nothing in between us.
All the years of living,
All the years of talking,
All the years of sharing the space.
If we dont open our souls to each other,
Theres nothing in between us.
I remember your eyes,
Reflecting the skies.
Waiting for the boat to come,
Waiting for the boat.
Writing the script of life,
Playing the guessing game,
Hurting from love and fear.
If we dont open our souls to each other,
Theres nothing in between us.
Some day when your boat is here
And youre way out there,
You may remember the summer clouds
And that I tried to reach you.

Boston
Where the ferries come to shore
She never really knew how good it would feel
To finally find herself in a place so warm and real
She wears a Red Sox cap
To hide her baby dreads
The girl she was in New England
Is different now and dead
In all the local bars
She flirts and tells the boys while they're talkin'
She's from Boston
She comes from Boston
Talks to her family now and then
Through e-mails and postcards
She tries to explain to them
That education and occupation will have to wait for now
She loves the Rasta, reggae rhythms, her dreams have changed somehow
She wears a Red Sox cap
To hide her baby dreads
The girl she was in New England
Is different now and dead
In all the local bars
She flirts and tells the boys while they're talkin'
She's from Boston
Her toes dig deep and deeper in the sand
She's seduced by the sunsets and her new life at hand
She wears a Red Sox cap
To hide her baby dreads
The girl she was in New England
Is different now and dead
In all the local bars
She flirts and tells the boys while they're talkin'
She's from Boston
She wears a Red Sox cap
To hide her baby dreads
From Boston

Words for Sergeant Dakota Meyer, USMC – CMH
Someday when your construction job has helped you heal
I hope through google and the further mystery of the internet
These words will find you
The President did not speak falsely
In your dark valley you are far from alone
Your comrades - living and dead – are not alone
Indeed a nation grieves with you
Your truth is proofed
Your honor is secure
You are not alone
You are not alone
The medal is our grief
It is not your grief
Keep your grief – keep your grief
It will heal you
It will heal you
Keep your grief
The Medal is a souvenir from a place
Where there are no shops

Every Day
War is no longer declared,
only continued. The monstrous
has become everyday. The hero
stays away from battle. The weak
have gone to the front.
The uniform of the day is patience,
its medal the pitiful star of hope above the heart.
The medal is awarded
when nothing more happens,
when the artillery falls silent,
when the enemy has grown invisible
and the shadow of eternal armament
covers the sky.
It is awarded
for desertion of the flag,
for bravery in the face of friends,
for the betrayal of unworthy secrets
and the disregard
of every command.
