Have you noticed that life, with murders and catastrophes and fabulous inheritances, happens almost exclusively in newspapers?

Joe Fabulous
don't play my music on mtv
play it on the radio
we are the street kings and we don't care
yeah we really don't wanna know
i'm joe fabulous
life is my school
joe fabulous
and we are the merchants of cool
we do our thing
we believe in no sin
we are beyond your control
if you look closely
you'll find that were mostly
machines looking for a soul
im joe fabulous
life is my school
the next joe fabulous
and we are the merchants of cool
we aim to analyze
everything you say and do
so we can sell it back to you
joe fabulous
life is my school
joe fabulous
and we are the merchants of cool
there are no nations
just large corporations
flying the flag of the day
from dawn of creation
to civilisation
please don't take my music away
joe fabulous
life is my school
joe fabulous
play by my rules
joe fabulous
and we are the merchants of cool
thats all
bye bye everybody
bye bye

It's not catastrophes, murders, deaths, diseases, that age and kill us; it's the way people look and laugh, and run up the steps of omnibuses.

The reason we have not gone to newspapers is because its a slow growth industry and I think they are dying. I'm not sure there will be newspapers in 10 years. I read newspapers every day. I even read Murdoch's Wall Street Journal.

Murders In The Rue Morgue
I remember it as plain as day
although it happened in the dark of the night.
I was strolling through the streets of Paris
and it was cold it was starting to rain.
And then I heard a piercing scream
and I rushed to the scene of the crime
but all I found was the butchered remains
of two girls lay side by side.
Murders in the Rue Morgue
someone call the Gendarmes
Murders in the Rue Morgue
run before the killers go free
There's some people coming down the street
at last there's someone heard my call
I can't understand why they're pointing at me
I never done nothing at all.
But I must have got some blood on my hands
because everyone's shouting at me
I can't speak French so I couldn't explain
and like a fool I started running away.
Murders in the Rue Morgue
someone call the Gendarmes
Murders in the Rue Morgue
am I ever gonna be free.
And now I've gotta get away from the arms of the law.
All France is looking for me.
I've gotta find my way across the border for sure
down the south to Italy.
Murders in the Rue Morgue
someone call the Gendarmes
Murders in the Rue Morgue
I'm never going home.
Well I made it to the border at last
But I can't erase the scene from my mind
Anytime somebody stares at me, well
I just start running blind
Well I'm moving through the shadows at night
Away from the staring eyes
Any day they'll be looking for me
'Cause I know I show the signs of...
Murders in the Rue Morgue
running from the Gendarmes
Murders in the Rue Morgue
running from the arms of the law
Murders in the Rue Morgue
running from the Gendarmes
Murders in the Rue Morgue
am I ever gonna be free
It took so long and I'm getting so tired
I'm running out of places to hide
Should I return to the scene of the crime
Where the two young victims died
If I could go to somebody for help
It'd get me out of trouble for sure
But I know that it's on my mind
That my doctor said I've done it before.
Murders in the Rue Morgue
they're never gonna find me
Murders in the Rue Morgue
I'm never going home.

Fabulous Work
Fabulous times are every year,
No longer are the times too scary,
Independence is now a clear favour
From up above. We are thin and weak
As men and other folk do as they please.
The image appears, the crystal is glistening,
You work harder along some of the winds.
It is as if the whole world is damaged
And you are not, the work of a dupe
Is injuring and yours is not.
This is fabulous for some.
For some it is a fabulous practical joke.

Murders By The Life
Murders have been deduced by the life of this planet,
Open lessons have been learnt by the murderers;
Never do space men seek a wish for their life to end,
Intentions are clear, intending is a custom of the crown.
Murders restart the evil of an on setting generation,
My generation speaks all this alarm, my one is an alarm
To go off by degrees, as signals connect to really hurt,
In time the tape is remade to bind the chains.

The One
'Come over here' he said
'Let's you and me
talk private.
I've noticed you
noticing me
and I wonder if
that is illusion
and am I making it up
or if it is true
and you did
notice me.
If not fine
I'm gone.
If so
let's talk.
What is the truth?
She:
'Yes I noticed you-
I saw you;
I mean
but that is all-
I noticed'
He: 'Well what did you think of me
when you noticed me?
Did you like me? '
She: ,
'Like you?
I don't know you'
.
'Well what did you think.
Well I thought you, , , ,
Actually I didn't
I wasn't thinking
I was just noticing?
'
Ok, nothing
no spark?
'No, no spark.'
In my twenties i would look into every
face and ask
are you my Future One?
And each face I peered into
would be examined and evaluated
and ultimately graded
and done within 3 seconds.
But if one
noticed me
noticing
I would end up
in conversations
like the above one.

This Fabulous Place
As I peer at the moon and revel at each star,
It’s as if night’s ceiling really isn’t that far.
My mind floats like a comet through unending space.
The haunting heavens are mine in this fabulous place.
Back here on earth many smiling people abound.
Like bees in a hive they busily scatter around.
They enliven this world with their unending pace.
Friends and acquaintances are close in this fabulous place.
Not long ago each country was a world of its own.
Now distant corners yield mysteries to a mere telephone.
Unknowns spring from sources that once hadn’t a trace,
But now have become indispensables in this fabulous place.
Trees reach to the sky as flowers follow the sun.
Flora and fauna provide seasonal splendor for everyone.
The fortunes of nature paint an inspiring face,
Enchantingly molding rock and soil in this fabulous place.
Time’s needles are unrelenting in their unscrupulous race
To transform budding roses into wilting leaves in a vase.
But love’s light looms large and is life’s base in every case…
The essence of existence making our world this fabulous place.

Club America
i ride into the town on a big black trojan horse
i'm looking to have some fun
some kind of trigger-happy intercourse
'club america salutes you,'
says the girl on the door
'we accept all major lies
we love any kind of fraud
so go on in and enjoy
go on in and enjoy!!!'
i'm buying for my bright new friends
blue suzannes all round
and my mood's heavily pregnant...
yeah you're right
i couldn't help but notice your icy blue eyes
they've been burning two holes in the sides of my head
since the second I arrived
and it's not too hard to guess from your stick-on stars
and your canary feather dress
your hair in such a carefully careless mess
that you're really trying very hard to impress
you're such a wonderful person living a fabulous life
sensational dazzling perfectly sized
such a wonderful person living a fabulous life
sharing it with me in club america tonight...
so we talk a while about some band you saw on TV
but I don't listen to you and you don't listen to me
yeah it's an old routine but it's a very special part of the game
and you don't really care what I call you at all
and I can't quite remember your name
and it's not too hard to guess from your stick-on stars
and your canary feather dress
the way you so carefully couldn't care less
that you're really trying very hard to impress
you're such a wonderful person living a fabulous life
sensational dazzling perfectly sized
you're such a wonderful person living a fabulous life
sharing it with me tonight
yeah you're a wonderful person living a fabulous life
fantastic divine and thrillingly bright
you're a wonderful person living a fabulous lie
with me in club america tonight...

Footprints in the sand
One night I dreamed I was walking
Along the beach with the Lord,
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints.
Other times there was only one.
This bothered me because I noticed
During the low periods of my life when I was
Suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord, “You promised me,
Lord, that if I followed you,
You would walk with me always.
But I noticed during the most trying periods
Of my life there has only been
One set of prints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
Have you not been there for me?
The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints
It was then that I carried you.”

Exclusively Aloof
You dip in your evils.
While others choose to sneak,
On those who sleep.
You dip in your evils.
While others choose to sneak,
On those who sleep.
There are sneaks and evil people...
Creeping up on people.
But I find that I am,
Exclusively elusive.
And I find that I can be exclusively aloof.
Yes I find that I can be exclusively elusive,
Caring less I'm in the loop.
As you and other people,
Can choose those things you do.
You dip in your evils.
While others choose to sneak,
On those who sleep.
But I find that I am,
Exclusively elusive.
And I find that I can be exclusively aloof.
Caring less I'm in the loop.
As you and other people,
Can choose those things you do.
There are sneaks and evil people.
Creeping up on people.
And I find that I can be exclusively aloof.
Caring less I'm in the loop.
As you and other people,
Can choose those things you do.
Yes I find that I can be exclusively elusive,
And I find that I can be exclusively aloof.
Caring less I'm in the loop.
As you and other people,
Can choose those things you do.
You dip in your evils.
And I find that I am exclusively aloof.
Others creep on people.
Yet I find that I can be exclusively elusive,
Caring less I'm in the loop.
As you and other people,
Choose that what you do.
