Baruch Spinoza

I would warn you that I do not attribute to nature either beauty or deformity, order or confusion. Only in relation to our imagination can things be called beautiful or ugly, well-ordered or confused.

Sonnet: What Isn’t Beautiful?

What is not beautiful? What isn’t ugly?
’Tis the beholder who decides ably!
Beauty is not just color or contour;
’Tis the perception of the gray-matter!

To appreciate you need two things unlike;
Beauty exists even if you dislike;
Beauty is there in both white and in black;
There is true of Nature, when you think back.

Beautiful’s the wisdom of the old man,
And the silver hair of the old woman;
There is much beauty even in a thorn!
And the wildest flower that you scorn.

Things in Nature have an innate beauty!
Appreciation, our bounden duty.

William Blake

The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity... and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.

Ugly Sunset

It wouldn't rise to become the sun
Afraid of shinning it's true beauty
Hiding in the horizon about to cause night
Bringing fear and causing evil to come out
So this once beautiful sunset that was the world to me turned ugly
Look at it! What do you see that is so beautiful about this ugly sunset
Is it how it causes fright to parents
Or how slowly it goes down with everyone's happiness like sucking the life out of you like a black hole
You ugly sunset with your beautiful shades of color and your reflection on the ocean, why are you hiding from beauty? we were once the world me and you but now look at you, your a mess.
Now all you are is one ugly sunset sucking up all the beauty this world has.
So keep hiding in the horizon ugly sunset!
But in the end you'll regret not showing you true beauty.

Attachment to Naure!

How is love of Nature developing in one?
Somewhere sometime in the past sure
Experience of oneself in Nature alone
Love of Nature must have begun in one!

Walking alone in Nature thoughts go on
Absorbed by the beauty of Sky, Sea, trees,
Mountains, rivers and valleys sometime
Kindling imagination roam as mad horse!

Fed by the elixir of beauty of Nature sure
One cannot resist seeing the same beauty
Some other time alone due to some reason
Making one a disciple of Nature as God ever!

So I too had my own special experience in
Nature beautiful at a hill station in Summer
Surely created a deep impression inside me
That never leaves me think separate from it!

Chaos, Order, Chaos, Beauty And Ugliness...

beauty must a purpose
have, for instance beauty that
gives peace and
harmony to the world,

presumably this world is a world of chaos,
and chaos is wanton
and understood to be messy and
undesirable, makes the mind
to lack the necessary focus

but what is focus for? what is thinking for?
again, you return to purpose
focus must have a purpose
and thinking must have another purpose

but what is the purpose of purpose?
seems that purpose is beauty
and that purpose without beauty is not desirable,

and so on and so forth,
people get so confused, they want order as though order itself is
beauty
as though it is one purpose that we need,

the universe must have an order
a system, every planet orbiting around the sun must have
a purpose
as though they are human beings like us
as though they are us

look at this poem, read it so well,
it has no purpose but to make you think
make you doubt

that perhaps beauty to be beauty must be wanton
and chaotic, which by itself is a reality
and reality is always
beautiful,
it has always a purpose and this is what you think it to be

right now, but is this really so?

Forever Tomorrow

beautiful yet ugly
the jellyfish stings until you die
ugly animals turn adorable
beautiful peace,
turns to dreadful hell
clean is made dirty
growing up is faster then ever here
sugar drops float and swim
molecules rush through the water
ugly old gray man monsters come to pray
life is just a hope
because the ribbons are here
ugly strings filled with beautiful nets
and the puffy disgusting mushroom looking things lurk too near us
beautiful and gorgeous when combined,
but ugly, deadly and disgusting when alone

Achieve Goals of Dreams!

Innocent animal pleasure of child is harmless!
Playful quest urges him to do so to get satisfaction.
With a little knowledge he likes pictures, colours
and enjoys beautiful things in dress and all things!

Perfectionist loves to see beauty in all activities,
Loves beauty of Nature, beautiful things ever,
Loves to do in a beautiful way whatever he loves;
Aesthetic nature grows since childhood on sure!

Then thinking age begins him to feel about drawbacks;
Seeks loneliness in Peaceful places of Nature at first;
His taste of beauty diverts him towards Nature's beauty:
Sea, sky, misty hills, snow mountains, smooth rivers,
Green meadows, smiling flowers, moon and stars....!

He goes to such places often far from the madding lads;
Gets peace of mind and communes with Nature in toto;
Becomes also a mystic soon enjoying the bliss endless!
He regains new spirit full of enthusiasm and begins life
Again from the scratch to achieve goals of his dreams...!

Beauty - a state of mind

Every thing has beauty
Till see the portion of ugly.
Beauty is state of mind
Beauty is what’s pleasing;

Conception, perception
And attraction,
Intelligence, elegance
and emotions,

Beautiful things made
Of the ugly garbage
By systematic and
Symmetric arrangements.

I hate the mud but
Like the statues made of it
I dislike her way of talk
But like smiling lips.

And So They Have Again Teased The Ugly Duckling

having forgotten the story
of the ugly duckling
here we are again retelling
it to children, that once
there was this ugly duck
who turned out to be the
most beautiful swan at the
end of the hopeless lines.

that we must stick to the
beautiful self that nature
gives us; it knows the ripe
season for a very beautiful
unfolding; that there is always
a perfect time for everyone.

A Beauty Natural Is True!

Is beauty woman?
Is beauty Art?
Is beauty Nature?
Man explores beauty
In woman, Art and Nature
To find out true beauty!

Woman makes up herself beautiful;
Art is made up full of beauty;
But Nature is simply natural;
For, Nature is true and simple forever!
So, natural is beautiful
And Nature is true beauty!

Confused Sexuality

He was confused
She was confused
A nonsensical sexual reality
A perceived established identity
Conformity of confused sexuality
A deformity of needs
Where the eyes and the body feed

Are we gay?
Have we all fallen astray?
Is it time for us to pray?
While the sun shines its rays,
We stand up proudly and say
Why do we feel this way?

His smile made him belong
To a land identified as wrong
Her kiss made her feel
It was time to dismiss
What was unreal
His touch made him want
him more and more
Her touch inspired her
She felt something
She had never felt before

The Journey of confusion
Denial and submission
The passage of life from birth
When they were all in a transition

Learning from you and me
Trying to understand the key
Of how to unlock the door to be free
Are we therefore responsible
for this confused sexual identity
Teaching them the good and the wrong
Or has it been there all along

Philosophy Of Beauty And The Beautiful

Simplicity is beauty,
Purity, divinity;
The virtue of quality
Excels that of quantity.
Beauty that pleases the sense is good,
Beauty and vitue are good,
Seek for things simple but noble,
Virtue alone can ennoble.
True beauty is simply graceful,
The graceful are beautiful,
There's beauty that's deceitful,
Nature itself is beautiful,
Beauty is perfection of form,
Virtue and good sense conforms,
Beautiful things may deform,
But virtue act in good form.

I Wish I Could Sing Of The Beauty I See

I wish I could sing of the beauty I see
The beauty of Nature that's all around me
In the warmth of November of the Southern Spring
The blackbird and magpie and shrike thrush do sing.

Of singing Nature's praises the poets never tire
And her beauty the Nature artist does inspire
To paint and frame a beautiful picture to hang on a gallery wall
When it comes to beauty Nature the most beautiful of all.

The buzzing of flying insects the flies and the bees
The soughing of the wind in the bushes and trees
The babble of the river and birdsong I hear
The voices of Nature are everywhere near.

The roar of the ocean when the tide is in
As the huge waves crash on the beach they do make a loud din
The howling of the storm, thunder cracks in the sky
When Nature feels angry to scream she's not shy.

Yet the beauty of Nature is lovely to behold
What is more beautiful than the parrots in their blue, red, green and gold
And the flowers of the parkland that bloom naturally
I wish I could write of the beauty I see.

Beauty, Beautious, Beautiful

Beauty is not a superficial form
Each has their own in essential nature
And in the actions they perform
Until the dissolution of their life
To leave beauty’s impressions in our hearts
Yesterdays beauty never leaves or departs.

Beauty is all around
Each and every place it may be found
As you look with open eyes
Upon the forms that nature makes
Then man seeks to imitate
Yearning to match that beauty all around.

Beauty if you cannot find
Beauty must be in mind
Beauty is in purity
Beauty of simplicity
Beauty runs right through and through
Beauty in me, and them, and you.

Beauty, beauteous, beautiful
Beauty in heaven
Beauty in fire
Beauty in earth
And finally beauty in a simple verse.

Beauty is

The beauty beheld is alive.
Beauty hiding is of the soul.
Beauty freed is love.
Beauty seen is beauty in control.

Beauty is the passion of the heart.
Beauty causes order divine.
Beauty is seen in all the great.
Beauty is the lure of nature's design.

Beautiful One

Oh beautiful one, adorned with spell
To ravage my world as might a sweet angel.
Oh beautiful thing, so much at ease:
Allure of caressing breeze in touch gentle.

Oh beautiful creature, sail me do,
As floating on seas of halcyon blue tincture.
You beautiful being, gracing charm
And features that render feel of deep texture.

Your beautiful poise in glide supreme,
Gives such like a vista honed as from heaven.
That beautiful art of face ornate,
Not ever to understate or be riven.

Your beautiful flame of pulchritude
Doth dizzy me high, so I conclude always
You beautiful girl forever be
My shining Janette; my guide; my stairway.

Beautiful and Ugly

In my eyes all I see

are beautiful

In their eyes all they see

is an ignorant girl

I have no idea that there

are also ugly

But they weren't; at first I

thought of them as strange.

Isn't it that right is beautiful

Isn't that wrong is ugly.

But now the Ugly is Beautiful

and the Beautiful is Ugly.

And I almost forgot that

Everybody has grown up.

In my eyes all I see

are beautiful

But in their eyes all they saw

was an ignorant girl

I have no idea that there

were also ugly

When I did they say,

'It was beautiful! '

But it isn't, I guess.

I think this world is strange.

Sonnet: Nature Is Beautiful

While Wordsworth worshipped Nature; Keats, Beauty;
To them, each was his art, life, religion;
With senses exalted, did their duty;
Imagination adding perfection.

When God made Nature, He gave it beauty;
All things He made with purpose, perfectly;
He made with man a covenant-treaty;
To enjoy it with his ability.

And Man invented words and syllables;
He used them to describe Mother Nature;
The latter found use in all Parables;
Revealing God's love for man in rapture.

Beauty's zenith of words is Poetry;
Divine love takes us to Eternity.

how i wish the world is blind to see me naked and broken
they always say
ever since i was small
this little boy is ugly
he will not have a promising future

(did they think that i better be thrown
to the sea and be eaten by sharks
or to the forest so i can be the prey
to those predators?)

they let me live, however,
thanks, nonetheless, and i have grown to be what i am

ugly
learning to live this way
ugly
time however has told me a different story
about the ugliness that lies only on the surface of
things, and living memories have grown in me
the seeds

some possibilities
for beauty

like i can grow a mind of my own
like i can be cultivated like a beautiful flower
of my choosing
in my own garden

like i can have the possibility of
a sweet scent
or i can be a slender plant that will bear
some luscious fruits
to feed the world and make it feel
that i can
quench its thirst
or satisfy its hunger

i have learned patiently
how to be a better possibility and long time ago
when i undressed myself
removing some layers of sadness
and confusion
skin upon skin upon skin

i was once afraid of everything
the windows
the cracks and the crevices
i was once afraid of the hundred eyes of this world
those walls barring me
those writings on the fences of my existence
shouting that

i am ugly
(that i do not have the right to live
or anything to live with)

i go naked again
time places another mirror at the center of my
thoughts,

to see another me
i am beautiful
in my nakedness

now, i do not wish anymore a blind world
so it can see the unfolding
the coming of my
thousand possibilities like some kind winds
white sea caps and gentle sands,

i am beautiful and i really know it now
by heart

this confident soul undressed and still so beautiful.

that you, my lovely world,
must start to see.
