Anyone who writes an autobiographical work at the age of 34 is, at best, presumptuous. It occurred to me that it was time to set the record straight.

Must
She writes as if there’s not much time.
She writes to pain, to happiness,
She writes to every remote detailed thought.
She writes to the departed,
to the extant,
to poverty,
to wealth.
She writes to mourn, and grief.
She writes to the wind, the rain,
forest, the desert, and mountains.
She writes to her pouring tears,
to her grateful moments,
She writes because really what she has is time.
She has no little ones to feed, or bathe,
nor a husband to make happy. To write is
to escape- to her. Time is not a problem, time
is just a killing system, she needs to kill in many words.
She writes as if there’s not much time.

Everything And Everyone
She's never afraid of what her past had might become
Alone in her lazy time in-between a thought that ends with loss
Her life is spent searching for the next
An answer a question never asked
Everything and everyone finds their time
Everything and everyone writes their line
But it seems hard now things work out in time
She lacks self pride her lazy time
Never once identified her lonely nights
Spending days alone but through the phone
She waits for a voice to calm her name
Then takes a drink says it makes me sane
She lives through a dream she once called fate
Then finds herself alone to contemplate
Everything and everyone finds their time
Everything and everyone writes their line
But it seems hard now things work out in time

Under The Safety Net Of Your Love
I was 6 years old when it occurred to me,
I was 10 years old when it occurred to me,
I was 12 years old when it occurred to me,
I was 20 years old when it occurred to me,
And like my other expereinces in life!
But, thkis whole story is all about my life;
And today, i am living under the safety net of your love.

Where There's Smoke, There's Failure
So it goes like this,
Guy meets girl.
Guy buys flowers.
Girl puts them in a vase.
Guy buys a ring.
Girl says yes.
Guy goes to work.
Girl goes to work.
Guy meets girl.
Girl meets guy.
Guy and girl fight about girl and guy.
Guy leaves work for new work and gets an apartment by himself.
Girl moves over seas and doesn't have to work any more because she has a new guy and the old guy has to send her money from his new work.
Guy writes poems.
Guy writes about new girl and old girl and new guy and work and old friends.
Guy wants to stop working and sell poems about the stuff in his life so that he can do other stuff in his life without having to go to real work.
Guy does not yet have high selling collection of poems.
Guy goes to work.
Guy meets girl.
Guy buys flowers.

I very much dislike writing about myself or my work, and when pressed for autobiographical material can only give a bare chronological outline which contains no pertinent facts.

Bridges
All the bridges that you burn
Come back one day to haunt you
One day youll find youre walking
Lonely
Baby i
Never meant to hurt you
Sometimes the best intentions
Still dont make things right
But all my ghosts they find me
Like my past they think they own me
In dreams and dark corners they surround me
Till I cry I cry
Let me take this time to set the record straight
Let me take this time to take it all back
Let me take this time to tell you how I felt
Let me take this time to try and make it right
But you can
Walk away
Be all alone
Spend all your time
Thinking about the way things used to be
If love feels right
You work it out
You dont give it up
Baby
Anybody tell you that
Anybody tell you that
Anybody tell you that
You should take some time maybe sleep on it tonight
You should take some time baby heed the words I said
You should take some time think about your life
You should take some time before you throw it all away
I aint got the time
To sit here and wait around
But I got the time
If you say Im what you want

Reflections 101
he writes not because
he wants to be read and
be understood
got him wrong really
he writes because he likes
to live
life writes upon himself
and so he writes upon life too.

Rock House
(p. lord / s. st. victor / v.j. smith / p. abdul)
Chorus:
Rock you house you
Turn the fire up takin over
Rock you house you
People get strong
Rock you house you
Time to take the weight
Off your shoulder
Rock you house you
People move on
And yes its time to grow
Spent enough time to know
To believe in you is blind
You only tell us lies
So now that weve agreed
Its time to end your greed
The unanimous decision
Is to rock you
Chorus
You shake a million hands
Make a million plans
The give a promise
To the poor
And millions a war
We tried to beg and plead
Still you ignore our needs
So the only way to teach you
Is to rock you
Chorus
When I think about the
Babies eyes
Longing from hunger
It makes me wanna
Cry, cry cry
Then the situation
Of our mothers
And our brothers
Well I know, I know
We can make it better.
Chorus
To the nations telling lies
To the brothers
Down the block
To the power on the street
To the critics on my jock
Shut up and dance!!
Chorus
Set the record
Straight right
Here and say
Set the record
Straight right
Here and say
(peace)

Work
Andy was a catholic
The ethic ran through his bones
He lived alone with his mother
Collecting gossip and toys
Every sunday when he went to church
Hed kneel in his pew and say
Its work
All that matters is work
He was a lot of things
What I remember most hed say
Ive got to bring home the bacon
Someones got to bring home the roast
Hed get to the factory early
If youd ask him hed tell you straight out
Its work
No matter what I did it never seemed enough
He said I was lazy, I said I was young
He said, how many songs did you write
Id written zero, Id lied and said, ten
You wont be young forever
You should have written fifteen
Its work
You ought to make things big
People like it that way
And the songs with the dirty words
Make sure your record them that way
Andy liked to stir up trouble
He was funny that way
He said, its just work
Andy sat down to talk one day
He said decide what you want
Do you want to expand your parameters
Or play museums like some dilettante
I fired him on the spot
He got red and called me a rat
It was the worst word that he could think of
And Ive never seen him like that
Its work
I thought he said its just work
Andy said a lot of things
I stored them all away in my head
Sometimes when I cant decide what I should do
I think what would andy have said
Hed probably say you think too much
Thats cause theres work that you dont want to do
Its work
The most important thing is work
Its work
The most important thing is work

Book Of Suleika - The Loving One Again
WRITES he in Neski,
Faithfully speaks he;
Writes he in Tali,
Joy to give, seeks he:
Writes he in either,
Good!--for he loves!

I'm a huge fan of Canadian rock-and-roll. When I was growing up, Rush came out with a record called Hemispheres, and I must have listened to that record for two years straight. Even when I was asleep I had it on. So, yeah, whenever I hear a Rush tune, the first thing I think of is Toronto.

We Can Work It Out
(lennon/mccartney)
Try to see it my way
Do I have to keep on talking till I cant go on
While you see it your way
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone
We can work it out
We can work it out
Think of what youre saying
You can get it wrong and still you think that its alright
Think of what Im saying
We can work it out and get it straight, or say good night
We can work it out
We can work it out
Life is very short, and theres no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that its a crime
So I will ask you once again.
Try to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
Theres a chance that we may fall apart before too long
We can work it out
We can work it out
Life is very short, and theres no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that its a crime
So I will ask you once again
Try to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
Theres a chance that we may fall apart before too long
We can work it out
We can work it out
