So I concentrated on the rhythmic side of things, and therefore left a lot of holes. I didn't want to use big pad chords everywhere. All of the songs are built up of small melodies and counter melodies all played very rhythmically.

For me, the most difficult thing is that I am learning melodies on guitar from some songs whose melodies were not meant to be played on guitar. Ever. They were intended mostly for keyboards or melodic percussion.

The Flutist

Oh sweet beautiful flutist
Play for me the beautiful melodies of your hearts desire
How softly do the graceful notes come from the instrument of your musical prowess
The sweet melodies that pour from your instrument of the heavens
Oh how they soothe my soul
Oh how they take away my past
Those beautiful sweet melodies from heaven
Oh sweet beautiful flutist
Let me play for you to sweet melodies
For I am not worthy to hear your melodies
The melodies from heaven

What Is the Wind For?

What is the wind for?
If it's not for songs in trees;
What is the wind for?
I feel a song inside of me.
Every day the wind blows,
I think of thoughts from my heart.
Wind melodies come and they go,
Without me knowing where they start.
What is the wind for?
If not for songs like these.
What is the wind for?
If not for songs in trees.
I have been going through life,
Both with comfort and pain.
I have been going through life,
Both with effect and in vain.
But still I hear wind songs,
As they steadily grow;
With melodies chanting,
That no one really knows.

Jesus, Ect.

Jesus, dont cry
You can rely on me honey
You combine anything you want
Ill be around
You were right about the stars
Each one is a setting sun
Tall buildings shake
Voices are scared
Singing sad sad songs
Two two chords
Strung down your cheeks
Bitter melodies
Turning your orbit around
Dont cry
You can rely on me honey
You can come by any time you want
Ill be around
You were right about the stars
Each one is a setting sun
Tall buildings shake
Voices are scared
Singing sad sad songs
Two two chords
Strung down your cheeks
Bitter melodies
Turning your orbit around
Voices whine
Skyscrapers are scraping together your voice
Its smoking
Last cigarettes
Are all you can get
Turning your orbit around
Our love
Our love
Our love
Is all we have
Our love
Our love
Is all got is money
Everyone is a burning sun
Tall buildings shake
Voices are scared
Singing sad sad songs
Two two chords
Strung down your cheeks
Bitter melodies
Turning your orbit around
Voices whine
Skyscrapers are scraping together your voice
Its smoking
Last cigarettes
Are all you can get
Turning your orbit around

Are all you can get

Jesus Etc.

Jesus, don't cry
You can rely on me, honey
You can combine anything you want

Voices escape singing sad sad songs
tuned to chords
Strung down your cheeks
Bitter melodies turning your orbit around
Don't cry
You can rely on me honey
You can come by any time you want
I'll be around
You were right about the stars
Each one is a setting sun

Bitter melodies turning your orbit around
Voices whine
Skyscrapers are scraping together
Your voice is smoking
Last cigarettes are all you can get
Turning your orbit around
Our love
Out of
Our love is all we have
Our love
Our love is all of God's money

An Old Man Walks And Sings

An old man walks and sings-
He no longer knows the words
But the melodies remain-

He sung for years
But now he no longer knows the words-

The melodies as he walks
Console him and convince him
He is still worth something -

May the melodies please go on as long as he does
And may his mind go to its final rest still singing.

Ah those melodies of love

Ah those melodies of love
How they are alike

With stories of love

How sweet they are

Even when they hurt

Though always have an end

They keep living there

Somehow, somewhere

Deeper so deeper of hearts
To remain and sigh

Every while and while

With every beat of pain

They revive and sigh

Ah those melodies of love
With them my insane soul shivers and flies

Ah those melodies of love always take my breath away

With them old memories flies

To those places where the love was.

Sweet Melodies

Birds in the trees
singing sweet melodies
Oh how I marvel at these.

So many calls
how it enthralls
Oh how it mystifies me.

When they're in flight,
not in my sight
Oh how I wish I could see

where they have gone,
where they were drawn.
That's where I wish I could be.

Who's hearing your song?
Who knows you belong
to all those who love melodies?

Oh how I yearn
for your return.
I listen and wait patiently.

My Lonely Guitar

At a corner my guitar waves her hand
inviting me to pick her up, to strum her
strings, to find out if all her chords
blend in harmony with my fingers.

It is waving her hand before my eyes
as in those birthdays, meetings, teaching,
and parties where her strings were made
busy to play melodies to people around.

Tonight she waves her hand again
calling me to play with her our common
game of songs which others can sing along.
But I just cannot play with my guitar today.

For whatever reason let this lonely night
find out; let me sleep and let sweet melody
sleep with me in my dreams and
let my guitar help me find the right chords
for my lonely song.

Melodies Of Sunset

I feel the gentle breeze
caress my cheeks
as we walk along the sand
near the closing of the day.
The sun sets the sky ablaze
with its crimson hues
while the hiss of incoming waves
plays melodies
as we amble along.
We stop for a few moments
to kiss and hug,
then amble on our way
with the melodies of sunset
playing in our ears.

Never Been

I have never been to Ireland but one day I will. This is how I picture it in my minds eye.

I love the green fields, the wondering hillsides, and the great grass meadows to the vast shorelines of Ireland.
It is one of nature’s greatest wonders.

It is so full, rich, and ripe with history that calls out to you in the night with sweet songs of melancholy.
These are the plains that the wind cries wallowing in the darkest of somber sleeps.

Soft yet sweet these melodies haunting songs that chills run down the back of your spine.
Nothing more beautiful can be seen from such bony shores.

Tongue spoken lyrically as dances trolley to a jig in synchronous rhythmic syncopation.
So happy and jolly the music skips as if children playing on the sidewalk of your mind.
This my friend is Ireland and you.

Little Bird..Is Your Heart Parched ?

Little Bird..!

I doubt your heart would become parched
by efforts to roll your breaths into verses-

and raising your bills into the skies
pipe your melodies flooding the dawn....

Where is the fountainhead of
the deathless springs of your music?

What is the interwoven message
in your unbroken songs?

Is it the shackles-shattering joy
with the birth of hopeful morn?

Is it specially for the mornings
do your songs surge in waves?

Or else, is it just for your songs
the morns arrive in hurried steps?

Which angel exactly at dawn
daily unfailingly wakes you up?

Who is she that floods your heart
with sweetness and verve?

Wherefrom do you steal the honey
dripping in your melodies?

If not, what swings in your small heart
is it a honey comb?

Or else, is your heart itself
structured in the heavy honeycomb?

Does your heart hold ' Paanjajanyam'
the mighty conch of 'Lord Krishnaa'?

What is your wage for singing songs
for 'Lord Sun' at the temple of 'Day '?

Is everyday of the year to you
the salary day of the month?

Do you decorate the golden wrists of dawn
full with the bangles of melody?

Tactfully moulding the syrup of music
fixing a flute as its mouth...

to brighten the heart
lighting the lamps of tunes..

does 'Mother Nature' create you
in her moments of ecstasy?

Have you bound and brought the sun
by your musical lines, little bird?

Tell me, little bird, is the infant 'Sun'
delivered by 'Mother Music'
at the house of East
in the birth pangs of tunes?

Music Shines

I love wind concertos,
romantic guitars, violins
and fine symphonies,
maestros in concert and
Elvis the King singing
those sweet melodies.

Give to me calm and solitude
idle moments with peace
sublime, and all I'd ask then
is a resting place, with love
songs to soothe my mind.

How romantic was music
from the old world, when each
high mountain top bowed
as Orpheus, his rhythm played
and trees reached up to a cloud.

Where would we be without music?
Films would lack dramatic appeal;
beautiful women would lose
all their shine, and songs would
only have words.

The Axe Concerto

Grandfather John, my mother's dad,
remarried later on in life.
When he passed on his vast wealth
passed largely to this second wife.
Thus did her children benefit
from the bulk of his estate.
My mother and my Uncle John
relatively little, sad to state.
Sometime after the internment date
a piano was shipped to our home.
A piece Step- Grandma didn't want
She didn't play and lived alone.
When my mother was a child
living up in Marble Hill
She'd learned to play the instrument
that now she merely wished to kill.
In mortal rage she grabbed an axe
and like a batter swung away
It was a fair bit of exercise
(She had played baseball in her day.)
Such sounds that spinet then produced
were likely never heard before.
such atonal melodies
as she ripped and smashed its core.

the Axe concerto was concluded
when only splinters still remained
She went and stored the axe away-
After than she never played
