Photography to me is catching a moment which is passing, and which is true.

Moonshine
Floating in the everglades
Faces lit in sun
A moon that lights a thousand ways across
Is company for one
Ooh wont you come back to me
Ooh wont you shine out for me
Falling down from grace
In houses made for one
Holding matches til they burn away
Ashes to the wind
Ooh wont you come back to me
Ooh wont you shine out for me
Only you, its only for you
Always true
But time is passing by
Only you
Always you
But every time we cry
We wave the sun goodbye
Moonshine
Desolate the renegades
Poisoned tongues persuade
Take the hand that carried you above
Oceans to the grave
Ooh wont you come back to me
Ooh wont you shine out for me
Only you, its only for you
Always true
But time is passing by
Only you
Always you
But every time we cry
We wave the sun goodbye
Moonshine
Tear yourself, you tear yourself.... (repeat)
Going over every minute every second in your mind
Turning over catching fragments of a life before you die
Going over every second, every minute left behind...
Its only for you
Always true
But time is passing by
Only you, always you
But every time we cry
We wave the sun goodbye
Moonshine
Only you, its only for you
Always true
But time is passing by
Only you
Always you
But every time we cry
We wave the sun goodbye
Moonshine

I Give You Everything
(l. stansfield/i. devaney)
Chorus:
With my heart I give you everything
Everything you ever need
Everything you need to be strong
In my mind I can justify
Why I never tell a lie
cos youre the only one that I want
That I want
Oh my darling what we have is
Something good and something true
Theres no other in my life
Could ever take the place of you
I do my best to make you happy
With everything I say and do
And you know I want you with me
Every minute every second too
With every passing day Ill tell you
And with every passing moment I will say
Chorus
Tell me baby can I love you
till the life runs out of me
I dont want nobody else
cos youre the only thing I see
Take my mind take my body
And dont you ever ever stop
cos theres no love we can discover
That is bigger than the one weve got
With every passing day iii tell you
Find with every passing moment I will say

Photography, alone of the arts, seems perfected to serve the desire humans have for a moment - this very moment - to stay.
Sketchy Brain-dirts
coming out of sub-conscious drive-this is too old but still true-
behaviours of dreamy illusions leading towards the insanity of pretence
life is so heavy
split mentality catching reality of moment-to moment skins
knowing only knowing can kill such vulgalarily of bygone dusts in the wind
two can not be one.....
I Was All Too Glad
it was just a passing moment
i was there
and i was all alone and
i only watched
what was happening
around me
i did perhaps say some
words
but only to describe
i did not subscribe for change
neither did i support
a revolution
it has nothing to do with cowardice
but more of
respect for the passing of
the moment
where i am not even
an important part
i was immersed in that passing moment
feeling like a river
or a sleeping fish
or perhaps it was more of me as a rain
falling to the grass
seeping on the soil
without so much noise
it was smooth experience
nothing tight
it was not tragic
but more only of
the clock ticking
it was more of the waiting rather than the going
really
and when i finally leave
as we were meant to be
or wont to do
i know
i was all too glad.

The Miracle of a Moment
A week?
A day?
An hour?
Time enough
For excellence
A moment?
Too little!
Too swift!
Too short!
Too brief!
Not so
Not right
Not true
A moment?
It’s enough!
Pregnant with possibilities
A moment
Overflowing with opportunities
A Moment
Saturated with significance
A moment
Rich with reality
A moment
Bursting with beauty
A moment
Loaded with life
A moment
Encoded with eternity
A moment
Maximize every moment

When I first became interested in photography, I thought it was the whole cheese. My idea was to have it recognized as one of the fine arts. Today I don't give a hoot in hell about that. The mission of photography is to explain man to man and each man to himself.

Capture a Moment
To most people it may seem as if I’m standing still,
but I’m not, for I am just catching a moment.
Time may be endless, but life is not. So each moment
I live I try to capture it. Even if it is just a cold breeze pasting across my
face, or a smile from stranger. I hold it there for a moment in capture it
in the camera that’s my heart. For tomorrow is not promise so I live for today, and in this day I’ll be sure to capture a moment
In the world of photography, you get to share a captured moment with other people.

I find it some of the hardest photography and the most challenging photography I've ever done. It's a real challenge to work with the natural features and the natural light.

Of course I realize that photography is not the technical facility as much as it is the eye, and this decision that one makes for the moment at which you are going to snap, you know.
I wish more people felt that photography was an adventure the same as life itself and felt that their individual feelings were worth expressing. To me, that makes photography more exciting.

And friends of mine that had photography class in high school would develop the film and make prints and I'd take them back to the track and give 'em away or try and sell them. Much to my parents' dismay, I majored in photography in college.

Catching Snowflakes in the sun
It's amazing what people do
When snowflakes fall on top of you
Some run and hide from the falling snow
Whilst others make balls to throw
Life is weird that way
Catching snowflakes in the sun.
As they drift slowly down and fall around you
Look up and open your palms and let land a few
And try to catch their silence and serenity in your hand
Before they quickly melt and disappear
Leaving drops like those from an emotional tear
Catching snowflakes in the sun.
Open your mouth wide and let them land on your tongue
And try to taste the essence from where they have come
For if heaven really exists and is the place to be
Then you could be there in a dream alone floating free
Magic aerial crystals dancing through the air
Catching snowflakes in the sun.
Lie on the ground and you'll be covered from head to toe
Like everything around you in a blanket of snow
Pretend to guide them towards you to the ground
By slowly moving your arms up and down
For a brief moment a snow angel you've become
Catching snowflakes in the sun.
Stand up and brush away the snow
Then build a snowman for you to enjoy
For as the season changes - as it surely will
No longer will you suffer from winter's chill
Instead enjoy every moment before it disappears
Leaving sounds of silenced snow whispers in your ears.

As I have practiced it, photography produces pleasure by simplicity. I see something special and show it to the camera. A picture is produced. The moment is held until someone sees it. Then it is theirs.
