H.G. Wells

After people have repeated a phrase a great number of times, they begin to realize it has meaning and may even be true.

Divorced from Dumb Reality - Number Lesson on Numb Pointless Love

DIVORCED FROM DUMB REALITY
My fun begun with number one,
swore to be true to number two,
happy to be with number three,
then to adore fair number four.
No more alive is number five,
mix stones and sticks Styx number six,
who’s in heaven, number seven?
its now too late for number eight.
Another line for number nine,
begin again with number ten.

then to adore sweet number four.
No more alive is number five,
beset by tics was number six,
she’s in heaven, number seven,
its now too late for number eight.
Another line for number nine,

Everything Is You

...you are my everything...
i've been thinking of a way to phrase it
seem to never find the words to say it
but it's true to say
i've been occupied by other things (i've been occupied by other things)
how could i think that you wouldn't notice (you wouldn't notice)
the absence of our closeness
realizing now
i will never let it happen again (again)
now i realize
that you are my everything
and without you here beside me
it's like an angel without it's wings
and now i realize (i realize)
that you are my everything
now i know it
should've shown it
and now i realize that you are my everything
as i sit here contemplating
'bout our love that's slowly fading
so insensitive
didn't hear you calling out for me...(didn't hear you calling out my name..)
if i could change the past i would do
everything to show i appreciate you
open up your heart
let me help you fall in love again
my friend, 'cause now i
now i realize
that you are my everything
and without you here beside me
it's like an angel without it's wings
(now i) and now i realize
that you are my everything
now i know it
should've shown it
and now i realize
that you are my everything
now i realize
that you are my everything
and without you here beside me
it's like an angel without it's wings (like an angel without it's wings)
(and now) and now i realize
that you are my everything (you are everything)
now i know it (now i know it)
shouldve shown it (should've shown it)
and now i realize that you are my everything
now i realize
that you are my everything
(life without you here beside me) and like an angel without it's wings
(oh can't you see that i apologize)
and now i realize that you are my everything
now i know it
should've shown it (your the air that i breathe)
and now i realize (the spirit that lives in my soul)
that you are my everything

Thats What You Get

The moonlight dances on her face
I got my lips ? ? ? ?
Im living the life of a lie
It was for me, for me that she died
Thats what you get for loving me (repeated 4 times)
? ? ? ? [whole line unintelligible]
True love, unhappiness
I fall down on my knees and I cry
Its my way of saying goodbye
Thats what you get for loving me (repeated 5 times)
The moonlight is ? ? on the ? ? ?
As I ? ? ? (into my? ) head
And i, Im gonna cry
Its my way of saying goodbye
Thats what you get for loving me (repeat to fade)

Faculty

Sometimes it seems so hard to work out the words,
and then again it seems not hard at all. Just write,
is as simple as that. There are times i can't seem to
work the words, other times the words come up
bubbling in my head with character and meaning.
At times i feel challenged by other writers, and i
begging to doubt my ability to work the words,
i simple read another writer and then i know i have
nothing to be worry about. I understand then that my
contest is with myself and not with other writers.
We all think about the same things, because once
in our life’s we all go through the same situations.
We all have the brain to create anything in our heads.
There’s nothing that i can't do if i focus and if i
don't focus; “you see” this word- focus is meaningful
in some ways, we need the focus, but in poetry we
need more the fantasy in our thoughts, the meaning
to our words, focusing can be important, but if your
head is not in the mood, there’s not going to be any
words bubbling up, even though you don’t need it so
much, because you can create a poem out of anything.
There’s one thing about writing, and reading poetry,
understanding the meaning behind the words.
Every word or phrase has a meaning behind, this is
where readers need to understand; for example-if i'm
drinking away my sorrows, it can mean, crying my
heart out, it can mean, i need to forget, it can mean,
a big hangover, it can mean, sleeping out in the porch,
it can mean, forgetting all you did last night; how many
things out of a phrase. Right know I would just like
to be in my cabin and sit right in front of the fire-place
with a bottle of wine and enjoy my pastoral life while
i write, amazing things.

Guess

There is a certain Yankee phrase
I always have revered,
Yet, somehow, in these modern days,
It's almost disappeared;
It was the usage years ago,
But nowadays it's got
To be regarded coarse and low
To answer: 'I guess not!'

The height of fashion called the pink
Affects a British craze--
Prefers 'I fancy' or 'I think'
To that time-honored phrase;
But here's a Yankee, if you please,
That brands the fashion rot,
And to all heresies like these
He answers, 'I--guess not!'--

When Chaucer, Wycliff, and the rest
Express their meaning thus,
I guess, if not the very best,
It's good enough for us!
Why! shall the idioms of our speech
Be banished and forgot
For this vain trash which moderns teach?
Well, no, sir; I guess not!

There's meaning in that homely phrase
No other words express--
No substitute therefor conveys
Such unobtrusive stress.
True Anglo-Saxon speech, it goes
Directly to the spot,
And he who hears it always knows
The worth of 'I--guess--not!'

All Times

Excuse me
I am here to say something
The meaning of my say
Be different to different persons
The meaning of my say
Is equally important to all
The meaning of my say
You are searching and searching
That is not fixed not codified
The meaning of my say
Is true to all times to come
And you are not all timers
Who can know everything
Every meaning of my word my say
Excuse me
I am to say something.

Observations on Eloquence

precise speakers
don't coin metaphors
sloppy seakers,
for want of exact similies
create a new phrase

sometimes more colorful
originated for want of language
or poverty,
the test of a new phrase or metaphor
is time

if adopted or repeated
alas eloquence is the lilt
and cadence sonorus
baritone or tenor

Number 6

Use your 'number 6' to win the game,
For the great wind came across the wilderness of love;
And there and then many were naked and bare!

A trustful witness saves lives but,
A false witness is a betrayer at all times!
But use your 'number 6' to save yourself at times.

What Glorious times These Are Thus Far

Great!
This is wonderful news.
The people have become outraged.
Completely sobered from their dazing stupors.
Magnificent!

And he who started this uproar?
The one from the pulpit who told it like it is?
Hopefully the momentum of it,
Will gain continued priceless revelation.
Finally.

The people begin to unbuckle,
From the seats of their fantasies.
And those adorning those rusted halos...
Now is the time for them to probe a little deeper,
Into their adopted prophesies.
What better times could these times be?

Who knew...
The silence of massive deceptions,
Would escalate into such meaning dialogue...
To uncloak without exception!
Of course racism does and has existed.
Only those nonbelieving,
Are those enclosed and themselves twisted.
Kneeling in front of symbols...
And praising the gods to which they lift!
It's in the fabric that has masked their greed.
Oh what glorious days are these!

Those who fed their appetites on hate,
Can no longer hide behind the myths of their false deeds.
This stench to secretly keep covered revenge.
Has from one man been unhinged.
We'll see who's blood is red when aired!
And not of royal blue...
When this mindless feud becomes publicly bared!
Where are the cloakers?
The ones who boast with self righteousness?

What glorious times these are!
Those who have benefitted...
From misrepresentations to fill their fists.
Will see who has given.
And what has been taken from whom!
Even from wombs they want to abort!
But these are not those times anymore.
Their explanations have come up short!
Let these truths begin!
What glorious times these times are!
These times we are witnessing.
And blessed to live in.
To have an awakening of truths to start.
'Real' truths that do not end!
What glorious times these are thus far!
With everything in the open...
And the pretense of a shallowness to defend!
Yes...
These are the days of our lives!
Revealed without apology!

New, New Year's Resolutions

Time for New Year's resolutions.
This year I'll be real strong.
I'll try like never before
to keep them all year long.

Resolution number one:
I'll be more careful what I eat.
More of all that's good for me,
and not so much that's sweet.

Resolution number two.
I'm going to lose some weight.
My goal is to lose forty pounds.
I really will look great!

Resolution number three:
I'll get lots of exercise.
The doctor says I need to,
and my doctor's very wise

Resolution number four:
Let me make this last one clear:
I must realize that I'm human…
and try again next year.

Number One Through Five

Making adjustments in one's life,
To accomodate the needs for another...
Who bothers not to call or show,
To let the adjustment maker know...
Things have changed.
And time was not there,
To permit one to become aware of it!
Needs only to happen just once!

To allow this event to re-occur,
AND 'then' complain?
Should say five words,
That has particular meaning...
To the one who believes,
Patience is a virtue.
NOT!

Number one...'Yes'
Number two... 'I'
Number three..'Am'
Number four... 'A'
Number five... 'Fool'

The repeating of this,
Should do something to assist in the 'awakening'.

Zero Covers All

Lately I realize.
I am a numb number,
living through life.
First child.
Date of birth.
Sixth star of twenty-seven.
Scorpio numbers six of twelve.
Studied tenth class,
Then 5-year’s graduation,
Every class I had a scroll number.
Exams written on id number.
Studied law.
Head churning three years,
with numbered sections.
Penal code, constitution.
Clauses of law in numbered sects.
Registered in bar council.
Legal practice.
Case files are numbered.
Subsequently I got,
House number, door number.
Phone number.
Mobile number.
Account numbers.
Credit card number.
Pan card number,
Folio numbers,
Car number,
License number,
Policy number,
Health card number,
Election card number,
Passport number,
Ration card number,
Ultimately, when you put me in morgue,
allotted me a number.
Which, I do no know.
However, I know a number.
I am a big zero.
It covers all my life
Yes, we discovered zero.
What a relief?
Does it not cover all?
fulfill all values!
By the way your number please?
X number or N number?
Infinite numbers.

Jorge Luis Borges

Lines consist of an infinite number of points; planes an infinite number of lines; volumes an infinite number of planes, hypervolumes an infinite number of volumes... No, this, this more geometrico, is definitely not the best way to begin my tale. Affirming a fantastic tale's truth is now a story-telling convention; mine, though, is true.

The Drag

conversations at night
when you cannot sleep
arrive at a drag, not like
the one we had nights and
nights before
when we still do not know
much about each other
our bodies and
pasts, our way of projecting
ourselves to a certain future,
we begin to search for
the meaning of a present
and i realize
there is nothing much to
meaning, just a drag, to let
the hours pass, without killing us
neither tickling us,
boredom works full time
and we do not ask when will
this last. we are the experienced
class, the category that asks no
more, because we think we know
for sure, we think we already know
what we do not.

Top Ten Reasons I Would Make a Lousy Poetry Critic

(Letterman style countdown)

Number Ten: Because I probably lack the skill to determine where another’s failings lie
Number Nine: Because I doubt that anyone else really has such infallible skill
Number Eight: Because I lack the desire to render negative opinions of another’s work
Number Seven: Because I question the true motives of any one who readily renders scathing critiques
Number Six: Because I believe in positive reinforcement rather than accentuating negatives
Number Five: Because I don’t wish to have any hand in discouraging or killing the dreams of other poets
Number Four: Because I believe that what people write is far more important than the skill they show in doing it.
Number Three: Because the majority of poetry derives from a warm heart and most criticism originates from cold indifferent intellect
Number Two: Because I know what it feels like to be on the other end of the equation

And the Number One reason I would make a lousy poetry critic:

Because, poetically speaking, I live in a glass house.

Left To Examine

People seldom select rebellion.
From a truth spoken and understood.
Yet those upset and labelled rebels,
Know too well...
They've been deceived and meant to be.
With perceptions shallow and kept to believe,
And fed to a consciousness deluded to depths.

And difficult it is to keep people like this,
Conformed to accept values distanced from reality.
Realities often thought to be militant with intent.
And long mentioned by the ones...
People decided they would choose to shun.
But themselves left to examine and now have begun,
Analyzing traditions and values with a doing done.

With a wondering of which standards to use.
Where to go and who to question,
To release them from confusion.
And self inflicting mental abuse.
Protected in historic denial hypnotized to seduce.

Left to examine...
These times.
And how will they be...
Redefined.

How will that begin to be done,
These times.
And how will they be...
Redefined.

Left to examine...
These times.
And how will they be...
Redefined.

How will that begin to be done,
These times.
And how will they affect,
Minds!

Left to examine...
In the coming of the changing times.
And...
How will that begin to be done,
In minds,
Left to examine...
In the coming of the changing times.
