I Counted On Love

Morse, Walsh)
-----------------
I'm hangin on, 'cause I hate letting go (I hate letting go)
I'm not that strong, but you already know how I hate letting go
We believed that dreams came true, now that picture's torn in two
I counted on love but love will never cry for me
I counted on love but love will never lie for me
I counted on love but lover say goodbye for me
I counted on love
Some great defender, is that what you need? To heal not to bleed
Some great pretender shouting
"SET YOURSELF FREE- SET YOURSELF FREE"
Why do memories have to be like a lock without a key?
I counted on love but love will never cry for me
I counted on love but love will never lie for me
I counted on love but lover say goodbye for me
I was flying oh so high
Now I'm trying not to cry
I was trying, but I'm dying, 'cause I hate letting go
I counted on love but love will never cry for me
I counted on love but love will never lie for me
I counted on love but lover say goodbye for me
I counted on love
I counted on you

Abraham Lincoln

Our popular Government has often been called an experiment. Two points in it our people have already settled — the successful establishing and the successful administering of it. One still remains — its successful maintenance against a formidable internal attempt to overthrow it. It is now for them to demonstrate to the world that those who can fairly carry an election can also suppress a rebellion; that ballots are the rightful and peaceful successors of bullets, and that when ballots have fairly and constitutionally decided there can be no successful appeal back to bullets; that there can be no successful appeal except to ballots themselves at succeeding elections. Such will be a great lesson of peace, teaching men that what they can not take by an election neither can they take it by a war; teaching all the folly of being the beginners of a war.

The Drunkards (Story-Bullying)

There was three of them in an old pickup truck
After drinking all night at the GOLDEN DUCK.
As the sun was coming up they was screamin and cussin
As to what to do next - they was fussin.

When seeing this sixteen year old riding her bike to school
They started acting like the drunken fools.
They started screaming and howling and giving wolf cries
As the girl rode on by.

They wasn't just satisfied with their howls and cries
They wanted her by their sides.
They turned the truck around and cut her off
They was going to show her ' who was boss'.

They tried to grab her from the back
But she was prepared for any sneak attacks.
She had her guardian angel with her from heaven
And she had been learning KUNG -FU since the age of seven.

When the first one reached out to grab her
She grabbed his wrist and pulled his hand straight up and back
Till she heard his wrist crack.

As the second one came running up
A round house kick in his face
Sent him flying into space.

The third one came at her with a tire iron in his hand
As she crotched down and took her stand
When he was about two feet away and open wide
In his crotch her kick did fly.

All three men lay on the ground
as she picked up her bike without a sound
Put her bike on their pick up truck
With this girl they was s- out of luck.
Then drove the truck into town
and told the sheriff where they could be found.

They was charged with 'drunk and disorderly manner'
And on the high school there flies a banner.

'Protect yourself and don't give in
Being a bully you will never win'

To be pitiably old

Besides parents and grand parents,
Aunts and uncles were counted on.
Besides father and mother,
Nephews and nieces were counted on.
Besides brothers and sisters,
Sons and daughters were counted on.
Then their children were contemplated on.
I count days, with no more to be counted on.

Flying

Forever is ending
But you see a deer
Love isn't bending
It's gone with the beer
And I know that I am feeling better
Mary wants to love me so I'll let her
Chains and the irons
Have fallen off of me
I am much much lighter
Everyone can see
And I know that I am feeling better
Suzi wants to love me so I'll let her
I'm flying
I'm flying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
Ain't lying
No crying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
Singing so loudly
I'm drowning out the birds
Singing nothing special
Just any happy words
And I know that I'm feeling better
Sally wants to love me so I'll let her
I'm flying
I'm flying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
Ain't lying
No crying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
I'm gliding
I'm soaring
I'm riding
I'm sweeping
I'm flying high
I'm flying
And I know that I am feeling better
Mary wants to love me so I'll let her
I'm flying
I'm flying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
Ain't lying
No crying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
I'm flying
I'm flying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
Ain't lying
No crying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
I'm flying
I'm flying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before

Trucks in Susan B. Komen Pink

When the burly owner of the company
Lost his mother to cancer
He kept his vow and painted his trucks pink
I doubt it hurt business a bit
There is something about an air conditioning and heat man
Arriving in a pink truck
Especially if you know the story of a son’s love.

Truck Drivin Man

(ronnie vanzant -- ed king)
Well hes truckin on down from memphis
Cruisin down to new orleans
Tonight he sleeps alone with a cajun queen
Well theres smoke from the stacks a-blowin
And he dont care where hes goin
The only time he feels right is when hes rollin
Hes got roadmaps in his hand
Lord, drivin just as hard as he can
Trying to dodge them scales and the man
Well Im talkin about
Truck drivin man
Yea hell always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, lord yea
Its all that he needs
And hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
Truck on
Truck driver
Shift your gears
Hes got ladies up in north dakota
From the keys man, to minnesota
And he loves each and every one, least thats what hes told em
Lord, flannel shirts and blue jeans
Truck stops are routine
Tonight he sleeps alone with a cajun queen
Well Im talkin about
Truck drivin man
Yea hell always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, lord yea
Its all that he needs
And hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
Guitar
Truck driver
Well hes truckin on down from memphis
Cruisin down to new orleans
Tonight he sleeps alone with a cajun queen
Well theres smoke from the stacks a-blowin
And he dont care where hes goin
The only time he feels right is when hes rollin
Well Im talkin about
Truck drivin man
Yea hell always give ya, the best that he can.
White cups and coffee, lord yea
Its all that he needs
And hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
I said hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
I said hes all right by me
Truck drivin man
Play the guitar
Truck driver

Country Comfort

Soon the pines will be falling everywhere
As the village children fight each other for their share
And the six-o-nine goes roaring past the creek
As Deacon Lee prepares his sermon for next week
I saw Grandma yesterday down at the store
Well she's really doing fine for eighty-four
And she asked me if sometime I could fix her barn
The poor old girl she needs a hand to run that farm
Chorus:
And it's good old country comfort in my bones
It's the sweetest sound these ears have ever known
It's just an old-fashioned feeling fully-grown
Country comfort and a truck that's goin' back home
Oh it's goin' back home
Down at the well they've got a new machine
The foreman says it'll cut manpower by fifteen
"Hey but that ain't natural" old Clay would say
You see he's a horse-drawn man until his dying day
(REPEAT CHORUS TWICE)
Country comfort and a truck that's goin' back home
Whoa, it's goin' back home
Hey take me back home
And a truck, and a truck that's goin' back home
Any truck

Red Smile

A burning flame,
Threw the truck off,
its course,
The metal pipes,
smooth around,
sharp ends,
Came flying at us,

Our little car had no chance,
as I sat in the passenger seat.
You were driving,
And saw the flame,
Saw the pipe flying to me,
like a magnet it was straight,
on its course to my heart,
I heard the snap,
the sound of your release,

And you were there,
To take my place,
I gave up,
I was ready,
with you my love,
Next to me,

You looked down,
told me not to cry,
Your smile red,
As you saved my life.

Days Go By

I'm changing lanes
I'm talking on the phone
I'm drivin' way to fast
And the interstate's jammed with
Gunners like me afraid of coming in last
But somewhere in the race we run
We're coming undone
Days go by
I can feel 'em flying
Like a hand out the window in the wind as the cars go by
It's all we've been given
So you better start livin' right now
'Cause days go by
Out on the roof just the other night
I watched the world flash by
Headlights, taillights running through a river of neon signs
But somewhere in the rush I felt
We're losing ourselves
Days go by
I can feel 'em flying
Like a hand out the window in the wind as the cars go by
It's all we've been given
So you better start livin' right now
'Cause days go by
We think about tomorrow then it slips away
We talk about forever but we've only got today
And the days go by
I can feel 'em flying
Like a hand out the window
As the cars go by
It's all we've been given
So you better start livin'
You better start livin'
Better start livin' right now
Cause days go by
I can feel like 'em flying
Like a hand out the window in the wind as the cars go by
It's all we've been given
So you better start livin' right now
Cause days go by
These days go by
So take 'em by the hand
They're yours and mine
Take 'em by the hand
And live your life
Take 'em by the hand
Don't let 'em all fly by
Come on, Come on now
Don't you know the days go by

Hole In The Wall

(alan jackson/jim mcbride)
Theres a hole in the wall
Where a nail used to be
A nail that held a picture of
The one that once held me
Now that walls tellin me
What I dont wanna hear
Im tired of the word fool
Ringin in my ears
Oh I guess a saner man
Would simply paint it
But Im not sane and after all
Its my wall, aint it
Ive got this hammer in my hand
And when Im through
Therell be a hole in that wall
Big enough to drive a truck through
When you lose the greatest love
Youve ever had
A little hole in the wall
Is enough to drive you mad
Oh I guess a saner man
Would simply paint it
But Im not sane and after all
Its my wall, aint it
Ive got this hammer in my hand
And when Im through
Therell be a hole in that wall
Big enough to drive a truck through
Oh Ive got this hammer in my hand
And when Im through
Therell be a hole in that wall
Big enough to drive a truck through

Truck Drivin Song

Im drivin a truck
Drivin a big ol truck
Pedal to the metal, hope I dont run out of luck
Rollin down the highway until the break of dawn
Drivin a truck with my high heels on
My diesel rig is northward bound
Its time to put that hammer down
Just watchin as the miles go flyin by
Im ridin twenty tons of steel
But its sure hard to hold the wheel
While Im waiting for my nails to dry
Oh, I always gotta check my lipstick in that rear view mirror
And my pink angora sweater fits so tight
Im jammin gears and haulin freight
Well, I sure hope my seams are straight
Lord, dont let my mascara run tonight
Because Im drivin a truck
Drivin a big ol truck
Smokeys on my tail and my accelerators stuck
Got these eighteen wheels-a-rollin until the break of dawn
Drivin a truck with my high heels on
Oh, I dont mind when my crotchless panties creep right up on me
And my nipple rings dont bother me too much
But when I hit those big speed bumps
My darling little rhinestone pumps
Keep slippin off the mother-lovin clutch
But still Im drivin a truck
Drivin a big ol truck
Headin down the interstate, just tryin to make a buck
Wearin feather boas with sequins and chiffon
While Im drivin a truck with my high heels on
Im drivin a truck
Drivin a truck
Got a load to carry and some eyebrows left to pluck
And Im late for my appointment down at my hair salon
So Ill be drivin a truck with my high heels on

Izza On A Merry-go-round

izza is my my niece
she rides on a merry-go-round
at the carnival
today

before riding it
however
she raises her eyebrow
puzzled
whether to ride
or not to ride
thinking that
if all these horses
run in circles
it will not
be arriving at any place
pointless
futile

on the other hand
all the other cousins
her age
are riding
and she too must ride it
for fifteen minutes

i see
she is enjoying every minute
of the ride
she finally decides to
mount herself
like the rest
waiving her hand
to her mother
taking pictures
on her first ride
on the merry go round
when it ends
she dismounts
at last

i ask her
how does it feel
to ride
in circles

she says
'it is so wonderful'

she claps her hands
and i tell her
'good! '

in silence
i could have told her this,
izza
that is what life is all about
a merry go round
where
we are all children
enjoying our ride
in circles
arriving at nowhere
arriving at no ends
and
your mother is
just like God
taking the pictures
of us waiving
our hands with joy
the joy of life
that joy
on that merry go round
too short
for fifteen minutes......

Coal-Truck

I am a coal-truck
Carrying gold dust.
Someone threw some
Coal-dust upon
My gold-dust.

I am a coal-truck
In a gold mine.
Someone struck a coal vein
And piled me full in vain.

I am a coal-truck
Covered in subterranean dust.
Someone shovelled my soil
And found an ancient bone
All coiled.

I am a coal-truck
Waiting for the rain.
The sun is my rail
The night my shed.

I am a coal-truck
Rumbling all the way.
Wash me in the rain-storm
And fill me full of coke
Until I choke.

Police brutality..

Beat them not in the lock up,
Beat them not in the custody,
Punch them not in the stomach,
smash them not on the head.

Beat them not for they are colored,
beat them not for they are feared,
abuse them not as they are deprived,
corner them not as they seem to be suspicious.

Brutality at police custody,
is illegally approved offense.
Hundreds died and thousand live,
with the damages caused in custody.
Who can be charged for the invisible wounds,
in the soft abdomen and hard skull?

Hard core criminals are hard to deal,
but why the 'suspect' has to be punished,
before the judgement?
Do not beat them in the lock up,
and inflict life long injury to check up.

Reason for writing this poem.

Police Brutality is rampant in many parts of the world. The internal injuries caused during such atrocities, have made many human almost invalid and forced them to suffer in silence. The law should be passed to protect and help the victims at least financially, if the abuse is proven.

You Are Just Arriving

You are just arriving.
And I have been here!
Don't think that I am going to be a gracious host!
You may at times find me gracious...
But a host I am not.
You are here on your own.

When your eyes opened..
That's when your reality for you began.
Some things you see you may find unbelieveable!
Do not tax your mind.
Believe it!
Do not try to find understanding.
You'll get stuck in that quicksand like the others.

You are just arriving.
And I have been here!
Don't think that I am going to be a gracious host!
You may at times find me gracious...
But a host I am not.
You are here on your own.

When I first discovered reality...
I was taunted and teased.
With disgusting disrespect!
You are just arriving.
You may not notice or suspect,
The depth of their ignorance.
You will.
And that's gauranteed.
