To do common things perfectly is far better worth our endeavor than to do uncommon things respectably.

When we are sick, we want an uncommon doctor; when we have a construction job to do, we want an uncommon engineer, and when we are at war, we want an uncommon general. It is only when we get into politics that we are satisfied with the common man.

It is a curious fact that when we get sick we want an uncommon doctor... When we get into a war, we dreadfully want an uncommon admiral and an uncommon general. Only when we get into politics are we content with the common man.

The uncommon to be common
There are exceptions to rules.
When exceptions exceeds in use,
Rules relegate to exceptions
And exceptions stay as rules.
The uncommon one frequenting,
The common one is replaced
By the uncommon to be common.
Marriage is soon to be uncommon.

Success in life is founded upon attention to the small things rather than to the large things; to the every day things nearest to us rather than to the things that are remote and uncommon.

Two Things
Two things that come and go—
Happiness and Sadness
Two things that will never leave us—
Fame and Stigma
Two things that will not come back—
Prestige and Life
Two things that come on their own—
Youth and Age
Two things that follow us—
Virtue and Sin
Two things that cannot be contained—
Grief and Desire
Two things that cannot be avoided—
Hunger and Thirst
Two things that bring about a downfall—
Anger and Jealously
Two things that are common to all—
Birth and Death.

Its Now Or Never
evil evil all around us make the
waves rush around us soft silky
things that are just the same evil thing
the tears i cry when it rains
are not a lie they are a shame
i write this poem for you
and me and the things to be
things may not make sense now
or never in this endeavor
its now or never the things we
try when we cry and laugh and lie
i come to a climax to the end to the things we've been
its now or never are very last try a helpless cry......

The Artist
The Artist and his Luckless Wife
They lead a horrid haunted life,
Surrounded by the things he's made
That are not wanted by the trade.
The world is very fair to see;
The Artist will not let it be;
He fiddles with the works of God,
And makes them look uncommon odd.
The Artist is an awful man,
He does not do the things he can;
He does the things he cannot do,
And we attend the private view.
The Artist uses honest paint
To represent things as they ain't,
He then asks money for the time
It took to perpetrate the crime.

Worth Fighting For
You said I could never find, a way to ease your mind
But where I go you wind up in the dust
I tried so hard to have you reach another side of me
Instead you werent to nowhere and forgot
So I wonder on
Asking where you might have gone
But what I knew before
Some things are worth fighting for
Diserty can wear you down, but still Im rollin through
Did I see your figure in the haze?
I am driven by your thirst, to quench myself of love
The sun beats on me for the price I pay
So I wonder on
Asking where you might have gone
From what I knew before
Some things are worth fighting for,
Yeah
Night rode leads me to a town of dust
Beckon by the gloss, of jealousy, and tumble weed
There calling out
Forever more
Worth fighting for
Im leading in the wind
Head bowed down from what I saw
My shadow far a friend
Theres something that worth fighting for
So Im moving on
Asking where you might have gone
From what I knew before
Some things are worth fighting for
Worth fighting for

But Ive got my love to keep me fine[? ].

Well I pawned my watch and I sold my car.
(things getting better.)
The money Ive got wouldnt get me far.
(things getting better.)
But I dont mind now that youve packed.

The Waves
You are the one you makes a difference
But I am the one who makes the waves
All down the line this makes us different
So all our dreams may stay awake
You know sometimes things get so strange
And all we do may go astray
Wrapped in your youth these things won't harm you
And they don't hit you like a train
Say... won't you see her
I heard she's waiting at your door
Oh I hope you won't keep near her
I know she's bound to want it all
She's uncommon
