Man has made 32 million laws since the Commandments were handed down to Moses on Mount Sinai... but he has never improved on God's law.

Moses Unwritten Commandment
That I've yet to meet a living saint I honestly can say
And old Moses ten commandments are broken every day
The laws of god and laws of man few bother to obey
And all of us grow older though few grow wise as they grey
The lust for power and money the greed in us does stoke
And old Moses ten commandments are there for to be broke
thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife thou shalt not kill or steal
In the twenty first century to many does not appeal
Every man and woman for themselves and it is God for us all
That's Moses Unwritten Commandment the one many best like to recall
In an age of self promotion where greed is seen as okay
For to help the poor and needy few do go out of their way
And though I cannot claim the higher moral ground since I'm not free of taint
In my six decades of living I have never met a saint.

On The Way To The Promised Land
What God displayed to all of Egypt with His Powerful Uplifted Hand,
Was only the start of Israel's journey to The Blessed Promised Land.
The Egyptians gave Israel gold and silver right after all the blight,
For God made the Egyptians favorably disposed to each Israelite.
When God had all the first born killed Egypt was filled with wailing,
But God passed over each blood covered Israeli home without failing,
God became for Israel a pillar of cloud by day and of fire by night,
And God covered Pharaoh with darkness but His people with light.
When Israel reached the Red Sea they were pursued by Pharaoh's army,
But God defeated the Egyptians by swallowing them up in the Red Sea.
Prior to this Moses said watch and see the deliverance of The Lord,
And with staff raised to part the sea they walked to the other shore.
To empower Moses for the journey and quiet those who began to mock,
God made waters at Marah sweet and produced even more from the rock.
And God whose presence on the mountain was such a humbling sight,
Feed His people with manna each day and feed them quail at night.
The quaking mountain of Sinai was more than just a majestic façade,
For on it Moses received stone tablets written by The Finger of God.
Moses was miraculously sustained on Sinai for 40 days and 40 nights,
This was to receive The Oracles of God in behalf of the Israelites.
Enjoying The Freedom to Breathe
The Ten Commandments were not created,
To have subdivisions of laws initiated...
For the purposes to make those 'Commandments'
More obeyed.
There are Ten commandments and that should be it.
But those creating laws to choose to create their own,
To make those laws more legit.
And who has not broken 'any' of them?
Soon there will be a tax on relaxation.
You know...
The act of it!
Choosing to take a walk alone through the park.
Enjoying the freedom to breathe the remnants of fresh air...
Will someday be reason to become taxed.
Someone is going to initiate 'that' as a money maker!
And in the beginning...
Well,
Closer to it than we are now.
There were just '10' of those commandments to obey.
Today...
There is a Supreme Justice Department.
Justices of the Peace.
Attorney Generals.
Lawyers.
Local Police.
Ministers and Priests.
None of which,
Are able to stop, control or re-invent...
The marketing of decadence, deceit and flat out lies!
So...
Do not talk to me about your Christian values.
Or your Muslim ideologies.
And WHY is the Vatican in Rome.
And WHY is there only one Mary sitting at the Last Supper.
Where are all the women, huh?
Where are 'those' standards in effect and practiced?
And you tell ME to keep it real?
No!
I don't have a dollar for your cup of coffee!
And that's well over two dollars now.

The Golden Calf
When Israel heard the fiery law,
From Sinai's top proclaimed;
Their hearts seemed full of holy awe,
Their stubborn spirits tamed.
Yet, as forgetting all they knew,
Ere forty days were past;
With blazing Sinai still in view,
A molten calf they cast.
Yea, Aaron, God's anointed priest,
Who on the mount had been
He durst prepare the idol-beast,
And lead them on to sin.
Lord, what is man! and what are we,
To recompense thee thus!
In their offence our own we see,
Their story points at us.
From Sinai we have heard thee speak,
And from mount Calv'ry too;
And yet to idols oft we seek,
While thou art in our view.
Some golden calf, or golden dream,
Some fancied creature-good,
Presumes to share the heart with him,
Who bought the whole with blood.
Lord, save us from our golden calves,
Our sin with grief we own;
We would no more be thine by halves,
But live to thee alone.

Your Own Lives
The truth is from the Laws,
For, the Laws are Spirit!
But, some of you still do not believe it;
And, you want to live your won lives here on this earth.
The Commandments are Holy,
Just and Righteous! !
So, believe in them and live;
For, only the doesrs of the laws are Justified.

Out Of Bondage
Delivered out of many years of bondage and given a brand new start,
All they had to do was follow Moses and trust God's unchanging heart.
From the bondage through Moses lead they were given complete relief,
But some never saw The Land because of hardened hearts of unbelief.
Forgetting that Moses was on Sinai speaking to God on their behalf,
The Israelites complained they had no God so Aaron made a gold calf.
Angered by their faithlessness God wanted to destroy them that day,
But Moses pleaded for the people and God allowed a remnant to stay.
The people continued to complain to Moses almost every single day,
So God wouldn't stay with them for fear He'd destroy them on the way.
When being lead along the Red Sea many simply complained and cried,
So The Lord sent venomous snakes among them and many of them died,
But when the people went to Moses and acknowledged that they sinned,
He put a snake on a pole and all who looked to the snake would live.
Their rebellion had angered God so much when they surveyed the land,
That most of Israel was judged by His Mighty Righteous Uplifted Hand.
For 40 years they wandered in the desert because of their wicked sin,
And only those under the age of 20 with Joshua and Caleb entered in.
Will you friend stay on the straight path that God allowed to start?
Or will you have your journey shortened by a sinful rebellious heart?
First, it is not unimportant that the legislative texts of the Old Testament are placed in the mouth of Moses and within the narrative framework of the sojourn at Sinai.

Andy Veto
Andy Veto never slept a wink last night;
Darkeys, he's your Moses!
Andy had to take us extra drink last night;
Darkeys, he's your Moses!
There was one who led you thro' the sea, you know,
He who paid his life, and left you free, you know;
But Andy V. receipts the bill, so he, you know--
Why, darkeys, he's your Moses!
Come! Come! Joshua, come!
Don't you think it's time the journey closes?
For you kwow we'll never stand in the promised land
While Andy Veto's our Moses.
Moses can't afford to let his people vote;
Darkey's, he's your Moses!
He must watch his little flock, his own scapegoat,
For, darkeys he's your Moses!
Thinking of you brings him wakeful nights, you know;
You might up and take your "civil rights," you know,
And make a "war of roses" with the whites, you know;
So, darkeys, he's your Moses!
Andy Veto thought he wore a crown last night;
Darkeys, he's your Moses!
When the people spoke, it tumbled down last night;
But, darkeys, he's your Moses!
Were it not a pretty sight--methinks I see
Thirty million loyal people, proud and free,
Around the throne of Andy Veto bend the knee;
Oh, darkeys, he's your Moses!
Andy Veto been a fishing for "another term;"
Darkeys, he's your Moses!
Guess that when vacation comes we'll change the firm,
If, darkeys, he's your Moses!
Ev'ry-thing is going wrong while Andy leads;
We must change the diet on which Andy feeds;
Ah! "reconstruction," that is just what Andy needs;
And, darkeys, he's your Moses!

Over To You
Born in the window
Cold blooded spoof
Raised in the prison
You called the school
Taught young in legends
Told what to do
I handed my childhood
Over to you
Travelling endlessly, Im searching for mind
Im almost afraid of what I will find
Wandering aimlessly, oh what can I do?
I handed my future over to you, to you
Over to you
Future looks blue
What can I do?
Watching for freedom
Fighting our wars
Feeding our children
Keeping your laws
Someday youll suffer
And what Ill do
Ill hand all your promises
Over to you
Standing inside myself, Im losing control
You made me believe in the stories you told
Waiting impatiently, what else can I do?
I handed my future over to you, to you
Over to you
Future looks blue
What can I do?
Tears filled of sadness
Stealing myself
Which burning secrets?
What to they tell?
Mad politicians
Can tell it true
I handed my children
Over to you
All over, over to you
All over, over to you
All over, over to you...

Laws
Laws created to curb the rise of domestic violence.
Laws created to curb the rise of racial tensions.
Laws created to curb interpretations,
Of what is and what is not politically correct.
But those who are corrupted and create the laws...
Can not see their own flaws,
That initiate the mess.
Laws created to curb a racial profiling on the rise.
Laws created to curb a greed that has affected lives.
Laws that limit freedoms to blatantly discriminate...
Those who do this anyway,
No matter what the laws are to perpetuate a hate.
Laws created to curb the rise of domestic violence.
Laws created to curb the rise of racial tensions.
Laws created to curb interpretations,
Of what is and what is not politically correct.
But those who are corrupted and create the laws...
Can not see their own flaws,
That initiate the mess.
And those upset by these laws,
Want more of them and yet neglect!
Like 'Commandments' given no respect.

The Death Penalty Is Murder
You go to your house of worship to your God to pray
But that your Government execute people with you is okay
When you tell me that all bad people deserve to die
Are you trying to say Moses Fifth Commandment is a lie?
You tell me you live in a democracy
But it does not seem too democratic to me
All murder is wrong that you do not deny
But in the laws of your Government a life for a life does apply
And since with so called lawful executions you wholeheartedly agree
You are guilty like many of hypocrisy,
The blessings of a God I do not ask to receive
But the death penalty is murder that's what I believe
And those who believe every murderer should be made to die
Without saying so are saying Moses Fifth Commandment is a lie.

The Inner Voice - Conscience
Laws on earth can be made, unmade;
Laws can be bettered or worsened by change;
Laws may be just or unjust and never perfect;
Laws can be changed for comfort and convenience.
Laws may change from time to time;
Laws cannot reflect truth always;
Laws depend on the constituent makers;
Laws can never be ideal for all times!
But the inner Voice -the Conscience is static;
It always speaks the truth irrevocably;
It is not transmutable anytime;
It can never lie ever even by chance.
The Inner Voice scores over laws always;
One's conscience always tells what is right;
Freedom of man's conscience is paramount;
Laws to stifle the Inner Voice are simply futile!
Laws are needed but must be just and fair;
Laws aren't needed to fetter the conscience;
Laws are man-made and transmutable;
Conscience is God-given, remaining the same in everyone!
Obey the laws when they are fair and just;
Heed to your Conscience, God's law-maker within!

Faithful To Their 'Things
Raw and sugarless...
That's the reality,
Many will be forced to see...
As 2011 continues on its journey.
Many and not a few,
Are going to view the days ahead...
As if visiting unaided by delusions,
For the very first time.
Crimes by those still blind,
Will be commited...
To try to bling and ca-ching their way,
To impress someone in those dead days gone.
Prolonged agonies attached to things,
Will remind those of Moses' return...
From the summit of Mount Sinai.
But even that symbolic image...
Will fly over heads,
Like a peeping satellite!
Raw and sugarless...
That's the reality,
Many will be forced to see...
As 2011 continues on its journey.
Leaving many to fight over the worthlessness,
Of possessions still taxed.
But as long as they gleam and glisten,
They will find a reason and meaning to live...
As faithful to their 'things',
As a marketing of them will allow!

Poetry holds the veil
Poetry, like Joseph, draws a written veil across its face,
Poetry speaks from behind the shawl of its own intrigue.
My beloved would know my plight if he read my verse,
He would sense my pain if he heard my cries.
Poetry, like the brow of my beloved, it is a sea of beauty,
Fitting for those of vision to reflect upon.
Poetry, like Mount Sinai of Moses, has witnessed the divine,
Struck by his figure, it shattered into shards.
Poetry uncovers the cravings of an aggrieved people,
For the foolish lover, my book of verse is a vow of maddened love.
Poetry is revealed in the realm of truth,
Each line invokes a voice of an unseen world.
Ardent like the roses, Yahya, I am too immersed
When I recite verses about his well-formed physique.

Of Love To God
When I do this begin to apprehend,
My heart, my soul, and mind, begins to bend
To God-ward, and sincerely for to love
His son, his ways, his people, and to move
With brokenness of spirit after him
Who broken was, and killed for my sin.
Now is mine heart grown holy, now it cleaves
To Jesus Christ my Lord, and now it leaves
Those ways that wicked be; it mourns because
It can conform no more unto the laws
Of God, who loved me when I was vile,
And of sweet Jesus, who did reconcile
Me unto justice by his precious blood,
When no way else was left to do me good.
If you would know how this can operate
Thus on the soul, I shall to you relate
A little farther what my soul hath seen
Since I have with the Lord acquainted been.
The word of grace, when it doth rightly seize
The spirit of a man, and so at ease
Doth set the soul, the Spirit of the Lord
Doth then with might accompany the word;
In which it sets forth Christ as crucified,
And by that means the Father pacified
With such a wretch was thou, and by this sight,
Thy guilt is in the first place put to flight,
For thus the Spirit doth expostulate:
Behold how God doth now communicate
(By changing of the person) grace to thee
A sinner, but to Christ great misery,
Though he the just one was, and so could not
Deserve this punishment; behold, then, what
The love of God is! how 'tis manifest,
And where the reason lies that thou art blest.
This doctrine being spoken to the heart,
Which also is made yield to every part
Thereof, it doth the same with sweetness fill,
And so doth sins and wickednesses kill;
For when the love of God is thus reveal'd,
And thy poor drooping spirit thereby seal'd,
And when thy heart, as dry ground, drinks this in
Unto the roots thereof, which nourish sin,
It smites them, as the worm did Jonah's gourd,
And makes them dwindle of their own accord,
And die away; instead of which there springs
Up life and love, and other holy things.
Besides, the Holy Spirit now is come,
And takes possession of thee as its home;
By which a war maintained always is
Against the old man and the deeds of his.
When God at first upon mount Sinai spake,
He made his very servant Moses quake;
But when he heard the law the second time,
His heart was comforted, his face did shine.
What was the reason of this difference,
Seeing no change was in the ordinance,
Although a change was in the manner, when
The second time he gave it unto men?
At first 'twas given in severity,
In thunder, blackness, darkness, tempest high,
In fiery flames it was delivered.
This struck both Moses and the host as dead;
But Moses, when he went into the mount
The second time, upon the same account
No fear, nor dread, nor shaking of his mind,
Do we in all the holy Scripture find;
But rather in his spirit he had rest,
And look'd upon himself as greatly blest.
He was put in the rock, he heard the name,
Which on the mount the Lord did thus proclaim:
The Lord, merciful, gracious, and more,
Long-suffering, and keeping up in store
Mercy for thousands, pardoning these things,
Iniquity, transgressions, and sins,
And holding guilty none but such as still
Refuse forgiveness, of rebellious will.
This proclamation better pleased him
Than all the thunder and the light'ning.
Which shook the mount, this rid him of his fear,
This made him bend, make haste, and worship there.
Jehoshaphat, when he was sore opprest
By Amnon and by Moab, and the rest
Of them that sought his life, no rest he found,
Until a word of faith became a ground
To stay himself upon; O, then they fell,
His very song became their passing-bell.
Then holiness of heart a consequence
Of faith in Christ is, for it flows from thence;
The love of Christ in truth constraineth us,
Of love sincerely to make judgment thus:
He for us died that for ever we
Might die to sin, and Christ his servants be.
O! nothing's like to the remembrance
Of what it is to have deliverance
From death and hell, which is of due our right,
Nothing, I say, like this to work delight
In holy things; this like live honey runs,
And needs no pressing out of honey-combs.
