Beckham is unusual. He was desperate to be a footballer. His mind was made up when he was nine or ten. Many kids think that it's beyond them. But you can't succeed without practising at any sport.

Why Do You Love Football?
Why do you love football Kevin
what do you see in it?
why not watch another sport
like Rugby, Golf, or Cricket?
Well let me answer that my friend
and put your mind at rest
I love the beautiful game
because it's simply the best.
No other sport is as exciting
no other comes anywhere near
football has lots of passion
and can create a great atmosphere.
It is loved all around the world
most children kick a football
rich kids, and poor kids,
small kids, and some very tall.
Ask a lad what he wants to be?
a footballer I bet he will say
not a cyclist or a pole vaulter
a top swimmer no way!
A good football match is a real joy
that's why thousands go to every game
when you get goals and lots of action
the fans are so glad that they came.
So yes my friend I do love my football
it's the number one sport for me
so while your watching snooker and darts
I'll be cheering on my beloved Coventry.

I've tried to handle winning well, so that maybe we'll win again, but I've also tried to handle failure well. If those serve as good examples for teachers and kids, then I hope that would be a contribution I have made to sport. Not just basketball, but to sport.

Meaning of Soccer
Soccer is a sport of heart, joy, skills, and Honor. Many people play it for money and don’t really
Care about the sport. A true professional soccer player plays for what’s in the front, NOT the
Back. If the team that’s in the front goes big and then you’ll go big with them. Play this beautiful
Sport for fun and enjoy. Many youngsters look up to big names stars like Cristiano Ronaldo,
Kaka, David Beckham, Pele, and many names. Guess what my friends they practiced so they
Could get where they are now, INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTRS! You want to get there just
Practice hard and in games try harder then what you practiced.

Its Not Unusual
Its not unusual to be loved by anyone
Its not unusual to have fun with anyone
But when I see you hanging about with anyone
Its not unusual to see me cry,
Oh I wanna die
Its not unusual to go out at any time
But when I see you out and about its such a crime
If you should ever want to be loved by anyone,
Its not unusual it happens every day no matter what you say
You find it happens all the time
Love will never do what you want it to
Why cant this crazy love be mine
Its not unusual, to be mad with anyone
Its not unusual, to be sad with anyone
But if I ever find that youve changed at anytime
Its not unusual to find out that Im in love with you
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh

So Unusual (Live @ Java Joes - 06.27.02)
This is the most unusual story, of a most unusual girl
she stood painting my picture, of a most unusual world
she can crawl out of frame while shes hanging on the wall
and shes calling my name
shes not so usual
shes most unusual
shes not so usual
shes so unusual
shes mostly a ghost, the way she watches over me
she complains when i smoke, but then you do the same to me
shes controlling my brain activity, knowing when i go to sleep
she'll catch you when I'm falling hard
shes so unusual
shes not so usual
shes not so usual
shes so unusual
shes not so hooked on the drugs like i thought she was
and never sucking on the lime, and hardly sipping on the wine
and dispite of her biopolar rollercoastering
i think i can try, she'll keep me singing differently
and its fine cause shes with me now, most all of the time
trying to saving the light, thinking not of her own
and always kissing me goodnight when i just need to be alone
shes so sweet, so discrete, shes exactly what i need
not even make believe
shes not so usual
so unusual
shes not so usual
so unusual
not so usual, and not to practical either
but shes not so mystical, but not to magical either
but shes not so outta control, and not so used to the flow
shes not so usual
nah, shes a natural
ohhh, shes not so usual
shes most unusual
shes so unusual
shes so unusual
shes gonna use me ohhh
shes not so u...
shes not so u...
not so u...
not so....

Desperate Times
(tom snow/barry alfonso)
Never thought it would be so rough
And i wonder if i have enough
To keep from breaking down
No mercy in this town
Every day is just another test
Seems i'm always second best
But you learn along the way
That's the price you have to pay
I try to stay defiant
Be tough and self-reliant
Though i get tired to the bone
Love is just a wish you keep inside
How's it gonna help me to survive?
Looks like i'm in this fight alone
And i'm livin' in desperate times
Being alive's my only crime
Don't care what i have to do
I'll find some way to make it through
Oh, and i'm livin' in desperate times
And it's too late to change my mind
Till these desperate times are done, gonna run
Watch me run
Innocents get taken in
By the promise of an easy win
You start out so naive
So eager to believe
But the glitter of the city lights
Only covers up a lonely night
Of strangers slamming doors
You're hungry and ignored
I've faced the competition
I've made the hard decisions
Will it be worth it in the end?
Taking any chance that comes along
Getting hard to tell what's right or wrong
I only wish i had a friend
And i'm livin' in desperate times
Being alive's my only crime
Don't care what i have to do
I'll find some way to make it through
Oh, and i'm livin' in desperate times
And it's too late to change my mind
Till these desperate times are done, gonna run
Watch me run
And i'm livin' in desperate times
Being alive's my only crime
Don't care what i have to do
I'll find some way to make it through
Oh, and i'm livin' in desperate times
And it's too late to change my mind
Till these desperate times are done, gonna run
Watch me run
And i'm livin' in desperate times
Being alive's my only crime
Don't care what i have to do
I'll find some way to make it through
Oh, and i'm livin' in desperate times
And it's too late to change my mind
Till these desperate times are done, gonna run
Watch me run

No shoes (for Karen)
I saw two kids sat on the curb
and it made me think of you and I
and it made me think of times gone by
and somehow it made me want to cry.
I saw two kids with knees all scraped
and it made me think of sticking plasters
and how we'd fast become ‘blood brothers'
and how we'd sworn to love each other.
I saw two kids that had no shoes
and it made me think of winter blues
and how your feet had been so sore
and it made miss you more and more.
I saw two kids sat on the curb
and it made me think of good ol' days
when troubles were all far away
and I forgot myself that day.
And I sat upon the curb again
and recalled when we were best of friends
Those days of youth so blithe and free
when I was six and you were three.

Why should we be in such desperate haste to succeed, and in such desperate enterprises? If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.

Unusual Heat
My mind tells me, what will be, shall be
Not a thing I can do about it
cause in my heart I cant do without it
Its so cold out here, like minus ten degrees
And Im trying to get through to you
Ive got my heart on ice, and its about to freeze
Only you, can pull me through
cause I want some of your unusual heat
I need more and more, unusual heat
My body tells me, hold on, I gotta hold on
But Im so cold and hungry
All stretched out like a month of sundays
Ive been out of my head, from that very first day
Searching for somebody like you
Ive been stumblin around, every step of the way
And only you can pull me through
cause I want some of your unusual heat
And I need more and more, unusual heat
I need it every way, every minute of the day
Baby Im yours,Ill do anything you say
If you just give me some of your warm unusual heat
Its so cold out here, Im about to freeze
And Im still trying to get through to you
Ive got my heart on ice, oh baby please, please, please
Only you, can pull me through
Cause I want some of your unusual heat
And I need more and more, unusual heat
I need it every way, every minute of the day
Baby Im yours,Ill do anything you say
If you just give me some of your warm
Baby wont you keep me warm, with your unusual heat...

I Am Giving You Up For Another
it has been a nice exchange of
wholesome conversation
the past few days
when we treat ourselves as friends,
what could have made you change?
talks about money, and people, and
how life shouldn't be
desperate things and miserable events
ships that sink, minds that explode
and kids on rehabilitation,
marriages on the brink of breaking
governments that don't serve anymore
how desperate we could be?
you must have realized that this is my
hiding place
as i have no other place to hide
and breathe
we now must part, i want to live.

With an Aged, Wise Mind
I too had been confined...
In a youthful body,
With an aged, wise mind.
It seemed as if I was older than most.
Sure,
I played games with my peers then.
Though bored to tears...
Doing things kids did.
I grew to feel unusual.
Like an 'ET' from out of space.
Whenever the opportunity came to play hide and seek...
I went to a neighborhood variety store,
To speak to the owner...
About 'stuff' that was out of other children's reach.
And when I was done,
The 'kids' would ask me where I hid!
I laughed and told them anything.
Just to watch their faces...
That were so inquisitive.
I understand that mind one has...
Growing and trapped behind eyes so young.
And I have no advice to share for someone like that.
Since I'm sure they will not be ignored.
Dedicated to:
Risha Ahmed
Cochin, India
'Risha...
Keep your patience.
You are blessed with a gift of expression.
AND, at age 'eleven'? ...you have nothing but more
of your 'brilliance' to share.'
