The player can only compete with the best internationally when they've committed themselves to this goal. They have to be properly supported until that point.

The greatest goal of all time
I've seen lots of great goals
some to take your breath away
I recall one from many years ago
that has stayed with me to this day.
The player had the ball at his feet
cutting through the defence like a sword
beating player after player with ease
the whole ground stood to applaud.
I've witnessed individual goals
and some created by most of the team
but the greatest one I've ever seen?
was by myself in a beautiful lucid dream.
I was playing for England against Brazil
the crowd was roaring out my name
it was the World Cup Final at Wembley
two all with a minute left in the game.
I then tackled and robbed Pele of the ball
and I went on a long and mazy run
it ended with me hitting home the winner
'What a goal' read the headline in the Sun.
I lifted up the Jules Rimet Trophy
got carried round the pitch shoulder high
but when Pele said my goal was the greatest
I just fell to my muddy knees to cry.
It's been said that dreams can come true
and that's a saying I know to be right
because that 'dream' goal I scored at Wembley
was voted best ever goal on the telly last night!

It is better for a woman to compete impersonally in society, as men do, than to compete for dominance in her own home with her husband, compete with her neighbors for empty status, and so smother her son that he cannot compete at all.

Ill Compete
Ill be your promotional copy in this here number one band
Take your business beyond your furthest dreams sounds
Sounds great sounds really grand but wait
Let us hurry now time is catching up
And it looks like the music hall race has caught me up
But Ill compete (yeah yeah)
For all that its worth
Ill compete (with the rest of the pack)
For all that its worth
Ill compete (on the beat)
For all that its worth
Ill compete (with a full deck)
For all that Im worth
Ill be your popswop, come floppy disc, race you along the upper deck
Retrieve from you my with-held treasure,
Then watch you sink with you sunken rotting wreck,
Let us hurry now, time is running out,
Lets not forget time is money said the business man to his faithful scout.
But Ill compete (in the national press)
For all that its worth
Ill compete (with the back chat)
For all that its worth
Ill compete (on the beat)
For all that its worth
Ill compete (international)
For all that its worth
We must hurry now time is closing in
And Im getting no younger in fact
Im five years closer to my pension scheme
But Ill compete (yeah yeah)
For all that its worth
Ill compete (for the ratings)
For all that its worth
Ill compete (on the beat)
For all that its worth
Ill compete (with the rest of the pack)
For all that Im worth

The Football Fan
They love their football team
their loyalty is never in doubt
they rarely ever miss a match
from the stands they scream and shout.
Even when the teams playing poor
and their favourite player is off key
that will never stop them from going
as the ground is where they want to be.
Football is always on their minds
they think about it night and day
non football fans think they must be crazy
watching men kicking a ball home and away.
Relationships can become strained and tense
as football takes the leading role
partners can become irritable and even jealous
when the fan talks for hours about a wonder goal.
The fan even dreams of football in their sleep
shouting out and butting the pillow with their head
they jump up and down as if they've scored a goal
and kick their partner out of the bed.
Yes the football fan is a breed apart
slightly eccentric and a thick skinned soul
when all that matters to them in life
is seeing their favourite player score a winning goal!

Committed
committed! !
me and my boyfriend have made a pact
we are committed and thats the fact
he will not screw any other women apart from me
and i will not seduce anyone else apart from him
committed! !
we will be a heathy twosome or so it seems
with this thought in our mind our relationship will gleam
yes sir we are a committed bunch
the world will sing praises of our relationship
the world will stand and admire our friendship
committed! !
he will screw me till his hearts content
as i behind his back will screw all his friends
he on the other hand will bang all my friends
yes sir we are a committed and our relationship is as firm as steel
committed! ! !
it's a word not to be taken lightly
it's the bed rock of all relationships strong and mighty
yes indeed we are committed
he can't screw anyone and i ca'nt be promiscious it's not permitted
we are so so very committed
committed! !
yes sir committed indeed
we are the two us sailin merreyly in our ship
when he is angry with me he does the maid
when i am upset with him i get laid
committed! !
we are thinck as thives
till his money runs out and i have fullfilled all my needs
oh sir we are so so so very committed....................

Beyond The Point Of No Return
There is a point in every journey,
a point of no return.
Once you’ve passed it,
you have to carry on,
regardless how bumpy the road may be.
There is no turning back;
you are committed to finishing the course,
no matter what you see.

When I get the record, all it will make me is the player with the most hits. I'm also the player with the most at bats and the most outs. I never said I was a greater player than Cobb.
My soccer team
I see men standing next to each other
in a line
and they wear yellow and green.
The national anthem plays
and its like nobody honours it
or know the words,
but maybe they are caught by the great moment.
The whistle blows
and the ball is kicked to and fro
and there are men attacking
and others that defend.
The goal is open
and the ball flies past in a wide arc
and it’s as if my team
can’t score any goal.
The opponents have the ball
and shoot it right over the field
and one of their front players
hits it with his head.
The ball flies twisting
and with a swing in the air
and is accurately aimed at the goal
As from the ground
the goalie rises
and the onlookers are silent
and just before it’s too late,
the ball is caught
and the crowd cheers.
It is as if something sweeps into
the men with yellow and green
and they play perfectly,
like only a good team can.
There’s passion to win
and the ball is passed
from player to player
and a mighty kick,
launches it accurately past the goalkeeper
to get entangled in the net.
The crowd cheers and go nuts
and vuvezelas are blowing
and flags are swept to and thro
and the players grab each other.

Compete
Ok, this is a race
Compete. Ok, this is a dog-eat-dog world
Beware, be cautious, and be meek like a lamb,
Be vigilant like a fox, ok, this is a game
That all people play, be a participant,
But you do not have to compete with them
Compete with yourself, compete with excellence
Rage against the forces of evil
Go beyond your own limitations
But you do not have to bite anybody like a dog
And be rabid and fierce for no reason at all
But you do not have to be a fox in a lamb’s skin
Just be what you are in your true colors
But you do have to be shrewd and be a fraud,
Just play the game well, display your cards,
And play fair, and fight fair, and be a sport,
Just be honest and you will win, fair and square.
