People need to be peppered or even outraged occasionally. Our national comedy and drama is packed with earthy familiarity and honest vulgarity. Clean vulgarity can be very shocking and that, in my view, gives greater involvement.

There is never vulgarity in a whole truth, however commonplace. It may be unimportant or painful. It cannot be vulgar. Vulgarity is only in concealment of truth, or in affectation.

Very notable was his distinction between coarseness and vulgarity, coarseness, revealing something; vulgarity, concealing something.

Vulgar Virginity
Vulgarity should be
the main cosmetic
for the men of production
whether in field, factory
or any other creative arena
vulgarity should be first need
to combat the camouflaged sanctity
behind which the real blood-sucker
hiding their nails and teeth
to plant their own heels
vulgarity, the genuine force of defying
colourful masks to exhibit artificial reality
to attack the
nakedness in disguise of implemented sanity
civilization marching long to reach a dawn
full of light and fragrance of full-bloomed buds
but sadly nearing the dusk full of greed and garbage
full of bossing and enslaving by two-footed animals
their weapons are hungry to erase the creations
so dear your vulgar insanity become the bold blow
to crack the mirror where your last dropp of life
cultivate the real beauty which lies beneath
the spastic dilemma of cosmetised purity!

Word Salad
Like veggie salad tossed here and there
Random words mix up good meaning
Spiced up musings everywhere
The taste of which is quite confusing.
So I looked and read classic poetry
Perchance there find some gourmet score
Hoping my diligence gets the recipe
For the word salad I am looking for.
Salads taste nice with a little dressing
And thrown about words may hit some cue
I guess I could never do salad writing
So I stick to rhyme in the poems I do.

Petri-dish
Your love is like salad in a salad Petri-dish,
But, bounded in the myth of paradise! !
However, the pivoting labour of your muse acts like flaccid breasts;
And, tomorrow is the opening of your hot meal to the masses,
For, you are very much noted in this village.

We don't need a melting pot in this country, folks. We need a salad bowl. In a salad bowl, you put in the different things. You want the vegetables - the lettuce, the cucumbers, the onions, the green peppers - to maintain their identity. You appreciate differences.

The Battle
Dames should be doomed to dungeons
Who masticate raw onions.
She was the cuddly kind of Miss
A man can love to death;
But when I sought to steal a kiss
I wilted from a breath
With onion odour so intense
I lost my loving sense.
Yet she was ever in my thought
Like some exotic flower,
And so a garlic bulb I bought
And chewed it by the hour;
Then when we met I thrilled to see
'Twas she who shrank from me.
So breath to breath we battled there,
To dominate each other;
And though her onions odious were,
My garlic was a smother;
Till loth I said: 'If we would kiss
Let's call an armistice.
'Now we have proved that we are true
To our opinions,
My garlic I'll give up if you
Give up your onions.'
And so next day with honey sips
How sweet her lips!

Oil And Garlic And Peanuts
past aroma of
garlic sticking to the oil
to crunchy peanuts
on that tryst
under the acacia trees
on a line of electric lamp posts
we watch the sea
the salty winds touch our faces
we were pure
we only want some company
we had nothing to do
it was the last day
of the garlic flavored peanuts
and then we parted
we were like the winds of the sea
on a short stay
at the boulevard
cooling off some broken dreams

Stash
Im pulling the pavement from under my nails
I brush past a garden, dependent on whales
The sloping companion I cast down the ash
Yanked on my tunic and dangled my stash
Zipping through the forest with the curdling fleas
To grow with them spindles, the mutant I seize
I capture the dread beast who falls to his knees
And cries to his cohorts, asleep in the trees
Smegma, dogmatagram, fishmarket stew
Police in a corner, gunnin for you
Appletoast, bedheated, furblanket rat
Laugh when they shoot you, say
Please dont do that
Control for smilers cant be bought
The solar garlic starts to rot
Was it for this my life I sought?
Maybe so and maybe not (maybe so and maybe not) [4x]
Was it for this my life I sought? (maybe so and maybe not)
Control for smilers cant be bought (maybe so and maybe not)
The solar garlic starts to rot (maybe so and maybe not)
Was it for this my life I sought? (maybe so and maybe not) [4x]

Polk Salad Annie
(words & music by tony joe white)
Some of you all never been down south too much...
I gonna tell you a little story, so youll understand where Im talking about
Down there we have a plant that grows out in the woods and the fields,
And it looks something like a turnip green.
Everybody calls it polk salad. now thats polk salad.
Used to know a girl that lived down there and
Shed go out in the evenings to pick a mess of it...
Carry it home and cook it for supper, cause thats about all they had to eat,
But they did all right.
Down in louisiana
Where the alligators grow so mean
Lived a girl that I swear to the world
Made the alligators look tame
Polk salad annie
gators got your granny
Everybody said it was a shame
For the mama was working on the chain-gang
What a mean, vicious woman
Everyday before suppertime
Shed go down by the truck patch
And pick her a mess of polk salad
And carry it home in a tote sack
Polk salad annie
gators got you granny
Everybody said it was a shame
cause the mama was working on the chain-gang
Whoo, how wretched, dispiteful, straight-razor totin woman,
Lord have mercy.
Sock a little polk salad to him
Yeah, you know what, yeah, yeah
But daddy was a lazy and a no-count
Claimed he had a bad back
All her brothers were fit for
Was stealing watermelons out of my truck
For once polk salad annie
gators got your granny
Everybody said it was a shame
For the mama was working on the chain-gang
Sock a little polk salad to him
You know what meets a meal mention
You sock a little
Hey, hey, hey, yeah, yeah
Chic a bon, chic a bon, chic a bon bon bon bon
Chic a bon, chic a bon, chic a bon bon bon bon
Sock a little polk salad to him
You know what meets a meal mention
Sock a little polk salad to him
You know what meets a meal mention

The Fury Of Cooks
Herbs, garlic,
cheese, please let me in!
Souffles, salad,
Parker House rolls,
please let me in!
Cook Helen,
why are you so cross,
why is your kitchen verboten?
Couldn't you just teach me
to bake a potato,
to bake a potato,
that charm,
that young prince?
No! No!
This is my county!
You shout silently.
Couldn't you just show me
the gravy. How you drill it out
of the stomach of that bird?
Helen, Helen,
let me in,
let me feel the flour,
is it blinding and frightening,
this stuff that makes cakes?
Helen, Helen,
the kitchen is your dog
and you pat it
and love it
and keep it clean.
But all these things,
all these dishes of things
come through the swinging door
and I don't know from where?
Give me some tomato aspic, Helen!
I don't want to be alone.
