Commitment in the face of conflict produces character.

A Common Man I Am
Like any common man I grope
And struggle to survive and be
Bold with Dignity and Hope
For life is hard and not so easy.
But this I say has made me braver
My hardships laid the lessons learned
Gave Wisdom, insight, character
My joy complete, sincerely earned.
'And we rejoice in our suffering,
because suffering produces Perseverance;
Perseverance, Character; and Character, Hope.'

Character (Fun Poem 130)
Every face has character
and each has is its very own.
Some are filled with smiles
from the wrinkles that they own.
While others look very cold
like some dead fish on a slab.
Yet others hold in harmony
from the expressions they show.
Yes, every face hold character
and I wonder what character your face shows.

You've Changed
We've been through this before......
Compromise
With me agree right now
Useless cries
I'm telling you just how
Paralyzed
There is nothing I can do
I realize
I liked the other you.
You've changed
Everything about you is strange
Look at yourself, you've changed
With the facts in your face
It's causing conflict
You've changed
Everything about you is strange
Look at yourself, you've changed
With the facts in your face
It's causing conflict
Hypnotized
By all your complex games
Sacrifice
My own opinions change
Justify
Just why to stay with you
I can't see why
Nothing else for me to do
It makes no sense
Putting ourselves through all this
At my expense
Don't I deserve much less
It's way past time
To right the wrong we're in
The bottom line
No way that we can win
You've changed
Everything about you is strange
Look at yourself, you've changed
With the facts in your face
It's causing conflict
You've changed
Everything about you is strange
Look at yourself, you've changed
With the facts in your face
It's causing conflict
You brought it all, all on yourself, you're strange to me
[background vocal]
You brought on all this mess
My needs were not addressed
You caused so much distress
This much you must admit
You brought it all, all on yourself, you're strange to me
[background vocal]
You brought on all this mess
My needs were not addressed
You caused so much distress
This much you must admit
You've changed
Everything about you is strange
Look at yourself, you've changed
With the facts in your face
It's causing conflict
You've changed
Everything about you is strange
Look at yourself, you've changed
With the facts in your face
It's causing conflict
I'm not the one who changed
I'm not the one who changed

Acceptance of the power of God in one's life lays the groundwork for personal commitment to both science and Christianity, which so often have been in conflict.

The instinct to impersonate produces the actor; the desire to provide pleasure by impersonations produces the playwright; the desire to provide this pleasure with adequate characterization and dialogue memorable in itself produces dramatic literature.

It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through.

Character
There is a secret
no one talks about;
one that we have mystified
and camouflaged.
Simply put
it begins with
the Morning Test,
which is
no one but you
can get out of bed.
That you have to do
for your self.
Others may call;
alarms may ring;
but in the end
you have only you
to motivate
to get yourself
out of bed.
This is the secret.
While we gain comfort
with faith, and kin
the sad news is
that while
this offers succor;
no one can feel the pain
that's yours;
no one can die in your place
put on your face
be inside you
really, deeply understand you.
No one can love another but you;
there is no love that is proxy love.
We humans paper this over
we don't tell the children-
we obscure this;
whole societies take the premise
that we are not
in the end alone.
The deep shock is
for some of us
when we find this is not
strictly true;
that some things
we rely on
don't really substitute
for the fact that you are alone with you,
in most things hard.
That is the Hard Truth.
What to do?
Enter here then the value of Character;
Character gives us the courage
to stand up
when others disagree and reject
and leave us alone to buffet
against the wily treacherous world.
Character gives us the courage
and the energy
to relentlessly press on
against impossible odds
and grow from this adversity
the capacity for unconditional
Commitment.
Character is all we have
when we discover
we are all alone.
Some think it came with us
from birth
others say it is imparted
by those around us
at an early age.
We start out then with external supports
until we develop our own internal ones
for ourselves and this ultimately
guides what we
do and can do in life.
It is the process of Growing Up.
And Growing Up
is simply
faith in one's self
and Character
at base.
This is magical.
Got to go.
Need to get up;
Get out of bed.
And,
only I can do that.

Unmerited Pardon
Unmerited pardon,
Tribulation produces perseverance!
But patience is part of the maturity of a character,
And like the hope of your love which does not disappoint.

Given In The End
The continuance of wasted life,
In wars fought...
To depict another's right to inflict conflict,
Produces not a single winner.
Or does the act come to cystallize,
The shape of one's greatness.
What a barbaric ignorance does,
Is expose a mentality that is absent of reason.
And in fear of not being noticed,
If a power chosen to display insecurities...
Is not forcibly respected.
Only to be delivered disrespect given in the end.
